Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. today announced that it is set to release the Galaxy Z Flip5 Retro — a limited edition phone that embodies Samsung’s legacy of innovation — from November 1 in Korea, the UK, Germany, Spain and Australia, and on November 2 in France.

The Galaxy Z Flip5 Retro draws inspiration from the SGH-E700, a product that captured the market’s imagination with its exceptional design and performance 20 years ago in 2003. At that time, the SGH-E700 was a ground-breaking mobile phone, being Samsung’s first to feature a built-in antenna. This innovation, coupled with the phone’s widespread popularity, played a pivotal role in advancing Samsung’s position in the mobile phone industry.

Now, Samsung plans to engage its customers by showcasing its history of innovation, spanning from its founding to the present day, with the classic SGH-E700 and the new Galaxy Z Flip5 serving as representative examples.

Samsung Electronics has provided innovative mobile phones in the market for decades. In addition to the SGH-E700, the company has launched a series of other revolutionary mobile products, starting with the MP3 phone SPH-M2500 in 1999. The unique package includes three Flipsuit cards featuring logos from different eras of Samsung’s history, a Flipsuit case and a collector card engraved with a unique serial number that will add to the product’s collectible value for purchasing customers.

World-Class Object Recognition and AI-Powered Driving

BESPOKE Jet Bot AI+ comes with an active stereo-type 3D sensor, which accurately scans a wide area[1] to avoid small, hard-to-detect objects on the floor. Its 3D depth camera – equivalent to 256,000 distance sensors – can precisely detect obstacles as small[2] as 1cm. This innovative object detection helps prevent the unit from getting stuck on small obstacles in its cleaning path.

BESPOKE Jet Bot AI+ is also equipped with an Intel AI solution, which powers its Jet AI Object Recognition technology. The smart solution allows the robot to navigate with accuracy by recognising not only the objects on the floor, but also appliances and furniture[3]. The robot’s smart decision-making helps to ensure users can have their unit clean closely around items such as children’s toys while maintaining a safe distance from delicate objects like porcelain vases[4]. It can also classify items such as pet waste, glass cups, and electrical cables as dangerous or likely to cause secondary contamination in order to avoid them.

BESPOKE Jet Bot AI+ is even equipped with a LiDAR Sensor that calculates its location precisely to optimise its cleaning path by repeatedly scanning the room[5] to gather distance information. This technology works well in dark areas such as low-lit rooms or below furniture so the unit can cover a larger area.

Powerful Clean From Start to Finish

Users can clean their homes thoroughly with advanced technologies that enable powerful cleaning. Jet Bot AI+’s Digital Inverter Motor maximises the suction power for a deep clean. Furthermore, with its Intelligent Power Control function, the new robot vacuum can even identify the type and amount of dust on the surface to automatically adjust its suction power.

BESPOKE Jet Bot AI+ also comes with a host of hygiene-related functionalities that enable effortless floor cleaning while ensuring that dust is securely trapped and not likely to be released back into the air. Its Advanced 5 Layered Filtration system traps up to 99.99%[6] of micro dust, including 0.5~4.2µm sized particles that can easily escape. All parts and filters are washable to maintain hygiene.

BESPOKE Jet Bot AI+ features an Integrated Clean Station which collects dirt and hair in a 2.5L dust bag that only needs to be replaced approximately once in every one to three months[7]. After cleaning, the robot vacuum automatically returns to the Clean Station^TM and empties itself[8] using Air Pulse technology complemented by a multi-layered filtration system that traps 99.999% of fine dust[9], ensuring the dust isn’t released back into the air.

Users can control and monitor the BESPOKE Jet Bot AI+ remotely using the SmartThings app[10] on their compatible smartphones. The robot vacuum can be scheduled to clean selectively in either a single room or multiple rooms with the ‘Select & Go’ function. The app can also be used to custom-define virtual No-Go Zones to prevent the unit from entering certain areas without the need for physical barriers.

With the slimmer hinge, straightened edges, contrasting hazed back glass and glossy metal frames, the design is our most refined yet. Galaxy Z Fold4, a Multi-tasking Powerhouse with Ultimate Performance

The Galaxy Z Fold4 is the result of Samsung Galaxy’s enduring smartphone innovation and our most powerful smartphone yet. Z Fold4 combines Samsung’s collective mobile technology expertise to create a device with increased functionality whether opened, closed, or in Flex mode[10]. Furthermore, it is the first device to ship with Android 12L, a special version of Android created by Google for large-screen experiences, including foldables.

Multitasking on Z Fold4 is easier than ever, so users can get more done on the move. The new Taskbar[11] provides a layout similar to your PC, offering access to your favourite and recent apps. Galaxy Z Fold4 takes stunning photos and videos with an upgraded 50MP wide lens and 30x Space Zoom[17] lens. A variety of camera modes, including the larger Zoom map activated on Capture View Mode, Dual Preview, and Rear Cam Selfie are custom-built to take advantage of the unique form factor for increased capturing flexibility. And with the larger pixel size, a 23 percent brighter sensor[18], and enhanced processing power, users can capture clear images even at night.

Content is even more immersive and distinctive on the 7.6-inch Main Screen[19] with a brighter screen, a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate[20], and a less visible Under Display Camera (UDC) featuring a new scatter-type sub-pixel arrangement. Popular social media apps like Facebook are optimized for the large-screen experience to make content more enjoyable. Or open your favourite streaming entertainment service apps like Netflix[21] and watch hands-free with Flex mode. Games are snappier too thanks to the powerful Snapdragon® 8+ Gen 1 Mobile Platform and hyper-fast 5G[23]. With a slimmer hinge, lighter weight, and even narrower bezels, the wider screen enables easier one-handed interactions while using the Cover Screen[24].

Galaxy for the Planet

Since the launch of the Galaxy S22 series, Samsung has incorporated recycled materials not just in our packaging, but also in the hardware of our new products. These are the first steps in our Galaxy for the Planet initiative, which includes our continued incorporation of recycled plastics and the creation of new materials in partnership with leading sustainability partners. As we continue to pursue innovations in sustainable manufacturing, we are proud to announce that more than 90% of the new Galaxy Buds2 Pro is made with recycled materials[31]. The new Galaxy Z series also incorporates ocean-bound plastics into key components and 100 percent recycled paper for its packaging. We also reduced volume of the packaging up to 58%[32] compared to the first-generation Galaxy foldables. This equates to an avoidance of approximately 10,000 tons of carbon emissions from transportation this year[33].

Galaxy Z Flip4 complements users’ styles with premium designs in legacy colours: Bora Purple and Graphite, and new colours: Pink Gold and Blue[34]. The expanded Galaxy Z Flip4 Bespoke Edition[35] now available in 28 countries worldwide, offers glass colours and frame options that provide 75 combinations to choose from, allowing customers to completely control the look of their device. Samsung is also offering Bespoke Upgrade Care[36] for Galaxy Z Flip4 Bespoke Edition users, so they can change their device colour whenever they want to. Samsung Electronics has announced the availability of its newest shade: Bora Purple, in the Galaxy S22 range. Going hand-in-hand with Galaxy’s philosophy, the flagship Galaxy S22 series power creativity and self-expression with dynamic cameras to make every moment epic. The devices are available for pre-order from now until August 10, 2022, and on sale August 11, 2022.
