The Movingstyle Redefines Portable Display

The Movingstyle[2], a portable smart display that blends form and function, won two IFA Innovation Awards for Best in Home Entertainment and Best in Design. Transforming how people experience entertainment across their living spaces, The Movingstyle’s design is rooted in one simple, elegant idea: mobility should be effortless.

Inspired by the silhouette of a tote bag, the integrated handle is both a distinctive visual signature and a practical tool. The Premiere 5 Provides an Innovative Home Viewing Experience

As Samsung’s most compact triple-laser ultra-short-throw projector[3], The Premiere 5 also won two IFA Innovation Awards for Best in Home Entertainment and Best of Tech Innovation. At just a fraction of the size of conventional projectors, it projects screens up to 100 inches from just 43.3cm away — or 80 inches at 32.7cm and 60 inches at 22.2cm — enabling large-scale visuals even in small, aesthetic-conscious spaces.

Perhaps its most impressive feature is Touch Interaction[4], which is enabled by a built-in IR laser and camera that allows intuitive control of content, games, apps and workouts — creating interactive use cases across education, entertainment and home training.

The Freestyle+ Blends Smart Tech and Portability

The Freestyle+[5] is Samsung’s first portable smart projector to be embedded with both on-device and generative AI, which helped it to win the Best in Home Entertainment award. It is powered by Samsung’s proprietary AI Q Processor — the first AI chipset built into a smart projector — and features a built-in AI OptiScreen that includes seven built-in features that work together to straighten the image, maintain sharp focus, avoid obstacles, fit screen borders, adjust colour for wall tone, enhance visibility in different lighting and dim the light when someone steps into the beam.

The Freestyle+’s built-in generative AI model allows users to create their own ambient visuals directly from the projector, and AI Q-Symphony detects the device’s position and automatically syncs audio with Samsung speakers or soundbars to deliver immersive surround sound.

Highlighted IFA 2025 Innovation Award Honorees

Bespoke AI Washer[9] – precisely controls motor operations to reduce energy consumption to 65 percent lower than a Class A rating,[10] the highest EU efficiency standard. This represents an improvement of 10 percentage points over last year’s A-55%[11] Bespoke AI Washer, revealed at IFA 2024.

Bespoke AI Jet Ultra – featuring a suction power of 400W[12] while reducing overall weight, it is the world’s most powerful stick vacuum cleaner[13]. It also supports AI Cleaning 2.0[14], which automatically adjusts suction power to suit various cleaning environments. Additionally, the Bespoke AI Jet Ultra recognises floor types such as wood, carpet and mats, as well as room structures like corners and walls[15].

Bespoke AI Dishwasher[16] – equipped with AI Wash[17], which uses an improved high-resolution turbidity sensor and AI algorithm to thoroughly clean items by detecting and analysing soil levels throughout the wash and rinse cycles adjusting water temperature and duration. Additionally, it features an Auto Open Door that enables users to open the door with a simple push on the upper area, eliminating the need for handles and allowing the product to blend seamlessly into kitchen furniture.

Bespoke AI Refrigerator with Hybrid Cooling[18] – utilises two power sources — the compressor and Peltier module — to offer efficient and precise cooling. It also comes with the upgraded AI Vision Inside, which can recognise up to 37 fresh food items and 50 processed foods.[19] Lastly, the refrigerator includes a 9” smart screen that allows it to become a hub for connected appliances, show food items and recommended recipes and provide various forms of entertainment.[20]

Bespoke AI WindFree[21] – creates a comfortable environment without cold drafts by dispersing air through micro holes. AI Fast & Comfort Cooling analyses user habits and indoor/outdoor climate data to seamlessly switch between Fast Cooling mode and WindFree mode, providing energy-efficient comfort. It also combines comfort and energy savings through its Comfort Drying feature, which precisely controls humidity and temperature. When connected with wearable smart devices like watches and rings that detect when the user is asleep, it automatically turns on WindFree cooling and adjusts the temperature to better allow for deep sleep.[22]

Micro RGB – the world’s first display to feature micro-sized RGB LED backlighting in a 115-inch screen. Unlike conventional LED TVs that rely on white or blue backlights, Micro RGB is engineered with individually controlled red, green and blue LEDs to deliver true, full-colour local dimming. It also achieves 100% of the BT.2020 colour gamut[23] and has earned VDE certification for its Micro RGB precision colour.

Odyssey 3D[24] – immerses users in a diverse array of 3D experiences from games to videos with stunning 3D effects[25] — all without the need for dedicated glasses — thanks to advanced eye-tracking technology and a proprietary lenticular lens.

Spatial Display[26] – creates realistic depth and dimension to 2D visuals and 3D effects, without the need for 3D glasses. Slim and lightweight, this innovative signage brings brands to life and is suitable for any space and setting, including retail, events and luxury experiences.

Galaxy S25 FE – a gateway to the latest Galaxy AI⁹ experiences with multimodal capabilities that makes everyday interactions feel more natural and intuitive. Galaxy S25 FE is equipped with One UI 8 and also brings the AI-powered ProVisual Engine with advanced tools like Generative Edit[27], as well as an upgraded 12MP front-facing camera that delivers an enhanced photo experience.

Galaxy Z Flip7 – comes with an edge-to-edge FlexWindow[28] that allows users to express themselves, access key features at a glance and stay connected without opening the device. Now Bar and Now Brief[29] deliver helpful, personalised information on the FlexWindow, and FlexCam makes it easier than ever to capture the perfect selfie.

Buds3 FE – brings a larger speaker[30] that delivers rich, powerful sound with deep bass and clear treble. Enhanced ANC²⁵ reduces ambient noise, creating a more immersive listening experience, and Enhanced call clarity technology uses a pre-trained machine learning model to isolate the user’s voice.

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. has unveiled its latest laundry innovations at IFA 2025 in Berlin, including a new Bespoke AI Washer with A-65% energy efficiency[1] and the second-generation Bespoke AI Laundry Combo[2]. These new models demonstrate Samsung’s ongoing commitment to delivering energy savings, intelligent features and stylish designs that align with the evolving needs of users around the world.

A-65% Bespoke AI Washer: A New Milestone in Energy Efficiency

Following the A-55% Bespoke AI Washer[3] introduced at IFA 2024, Samsung will unveil its new A-65% washer¹, which consumes 65% less energy than the minimum energy efficiency requirements for a Class A rating in the European market¹. This elevated performance is achieved through enhanced motor efficiency, improved circulation, and refined washing algorithms.

The new washer also features the enhanced AI Wash+[4], which now intelligently adapts to an expanded range of fabric types, including outdoor wear and denim. By detecting the weight, soiling level and fabric type, AI Wash+ automatically adjusts the amount of water and detergent, along with the wash time to deliver optimal results.

This model will feature Samsung’s intuitive 7” touch screen for an elevated user experience with innovative features and functionality, as well as seamless integration with SmartThings[5].

To complement the washer, Samsung is also introducing a matching dryer that includes AI Dry+, which detects fabric type[6] and moisture level to optimise drying time.

Second-Gen Bespoke AI Laundry Combo: Taking Convenience One Step Further

At IFA 2025, Samsung has also showcased the second-generation Bespoke AI Laundry Combo, building on the popularity of the globally launched first-generation model. First launched to the Korean market earlier this year, this new model exemplifies the latest advancements in Samsung’s AI-powered laundry solutions.

Retaining the same external dimensions, the updated Combo delivers a 3kg increase in drying capacity[7]. These improvements were made possible through structural enhancements, including a more densely arranged heat exchanger fin layout that expands the heat transfer surface area and a more powerful preheating capability from the heater system.

The second-generation model also introduces a range of practical upgrades aimed at enhancing everyday usability. Upgraded from the first generation’s AI Wash & Dry, the second-generation model’s AI Wash & Dry + adds denim and outdoor to the list of detectable fabric types.[8] Auto Open Door+ – a feature unique to the Combo – automatically opens the door after washing or drying to help reduce moisture and odour, while blowing air into the tub after wash-only cycles to lower humidity and keep the interior fresh. The model also offers optimised cycles for modern routines, including a 79-minute Super Speed cycle, a 49-minute single garment cycle, and a 39-minute shirt cycle[9]. To make navigating these options easier, the 7” touchscreen features a new Dial Theme interface that prominently displays six frequently used cycles in a clean, circular layout for more intuitive control.

But Samsung hasn’t stopped there. This year’s Bespoke AI Laundry Combo offers an entirely different experience, featuring a newly arranged version of “The Trout” with an orchestral twist.

Bo Kyung Kim, a Sound UX designer for Digital Appliances Business at Samsung Electronics, shared her insights into the inspiration that went into the design: “Samsung considers sound to be crucial, not just as a functional element but as an integral part of the customer experience and beyond. We redesigned these sounds to go beyond functionality — delivering our brand identity while also aligning with user preferences.”

Bo Kyung Kim, a Sound UX designer of Samsung DA, says that Samsung puts importance on sound to enhance user experience.

“The Bespoke AI Laundry Combo features an orchestra-themed soundscape along with 11 newly added themes designed to captivate consumers’ senses. By selecting a preferred theme, users can personalise power on and off sounds, end-of-cycle alarm and timer notifications.”

Kim explained further, “Creating a sound UX includes theme composition, overall strategy, instrument selection, and consultation with developers to ensure hardware implementation. This was a year-long development journey that certainly had some challenges for us to overcome.”

For instance, when working on “Guitar in the Night Breeze,” the team decided to use acoustic guitar to convey the feeling of a cool evening breeze. However, once the sound was completed and tested on the Bespoke AI Laundry Combo, it did not resonate as expected. They had to adjust the echo and reverb levels accordingly, and they carried out continuous consumer surveys to gauge how people felt about the sound as well as the imagery that it evoked.

Moving forward, the Sound UX team plans to create and apply preference-based sounds to other products besides the Bespoke AI Laundry Combo. As Kim put it, “We want to hear people say things like, ‘Oh, this is a Samsung sound!’ and ‘I love that Samsung sound.’ We are really trying to bring joy to people’s daily lives as they use our appliances.”

Samsung Electronics Australia has today released the Australians @ Home Report: 2024 Smart Living Edition. The report’s findings reveal a generational shift in the perception of home appliances, particularly with Gen Z and Millennials.

According to the report, younger Australians are redefining what it means to have a stylish, yet functional home. No longer is an appliance a device for a particular purpose or use, but an object of status, and in some cases, attraction.

While appliance aesthetics are becoming a priority, the data also reveals that looks aren’t everything. Practicality amid a cost-of-living crunch also plays a major role in their purchase decision, increasing demand for a new category for smart, high-value appliances.

“Our Samsung Australians @ Home Report: 2024 Smart Living Edition reveals Millennials and Gen Z are leading the charge in redefining what it means to own and showcase home appliances,” said Jeremy Senior, Vice President – Consumer Electronics, Samsung Electronics Australia. “These insights demonstrate a clear generational divide. While energy savings are crucial for everyone, younger generations prioritise sleek design and smart AI functionality.

Appliance Envy is Rising

Having the latest technology or the coolest gadgets has been a leading trend for decades but hearing a friend rejoice over the latest fridge or vacuum hasn’t been common, until now.

As social media usage continues to generate an influx of ‘foodie’ cooking trends, it’s no surprise to see that the humble fridge is emerging as a particular source of personal pride. One quarter (25%) of Australians and over a third (34%) of Gen Z say they’re more likely to invite people over if they have a fancy fridge, highlighting a growing trend for modern appliances that are seen as status symbols, and how a stylish home environment is becoming a key factor in creating core memories.[4]

The data also suggests a rising sentiment of personal pride and envy attached to our appliances, particularly with younger people. Just as Australian’s may take pride in their lawns or barbeque set-up; the data shows similar affections being adopted towards household appliances.

More than a quarter (28%) of Australians say they prefer visiting friends and attending events in homes with modern, luxury or smart appliances. One quarter (25%) of all Australians and just under a third (32%) of Gen Z also say they feel embarrassed or judged for outdated or mismatched appliances.[5]

Interestingly, over a fifth (22%) of all Australians and a striking 36% of Gen Z say they’re even more attracted to people with luxury appliances, with some even expressing an emotional attachment to their appliances. This compares to 51% of Boomers who see appliance as ‘what they are’ and are least likely to discuss their appliances with friends compared to other generation.[6]

The rising desire for stylish appliances is balanced by the need for practicality, as cost-of-living pressures continue to dominate Australian households. Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. today announced that it will update its voice assistant Bixby[1] with enhanced AI in home appliances.[2] Bixby will have a comprehension ability that better understands complex commands based on natural language[3], providing easy device control for users.

Samsung launched multiple home appliances with AI features earlier this year, such as the AI Family Hub French Door Refrigerator featuring AI Vision Inside,[4] Bespoke Jet Bot Combo AI with upgraded AI Object Recognition,[5] and Bespoke AI Laundry Combo with AI Home.[6] Taking another step forward, Samsung aims to create an even richer consumer experience by introducing new features.

Bixby: Better Voice Control for Appliances

The upgraded Bixby enables better voice control through three main capabilities[7] — understanding complex commands (Multi-Intent), recalling previous conversations (Multi-Turn) and responding to product-related questions (Device Q&A).[8] Samsung is providing the update to five products launched in 2024 first: the AI Family Hub French Door Refrigerator; Bespoke AI Heat Pump Combo; Bespoke Slide-in Range[9]; Bespoke Jet Bot Combo AI; and Bespoke AI WindFree Gallery Freestanding Air Conditioner.[10]

The upgraded Bixby can understand commands that consist of multiple or unrelated requests in one sentence. Consumers can control other devices connected by SmartThings[11] with the upgraded Bixby as well, so they can express their needs more naturally than before. For example, consumers can ask the Bespoke AI Heat Pump Combo, “Hi Bixby, set the wash cycle to Super Speed” and Bixby will process the command. [12]

Bixby is also capable of remembering contexts of past conversations,[13] allowing users to engage in ongoing dialogues with devices rather than issuing isolated commands. If consumers say to the AI Family Hub French Door Refrigerator, “Hi Bixby, tell me what time the family dinner is today” and Bixby responds to it, users can follow up and say, “Then set the washing machine to finish one hour before that.”[14]

Lastly, it can provide assistance to users when they encounter problems while using compatible appliances or become curious about certain cycles or features. When the screen on the appliance shows an error code, users can turn to Bixby to ask what it means instead of searching through the user manual or contacting the call center. They can ask questions like, “Hi Bixby, I can hear clicking noises in the fridge, why is that?”, and Bixby will provide several answers. Appliances with screens, such as refrigerators with AI Family Hub or the Bespoke AI Heat Pump Combo, will display the response on the screen, while appliances without screens will provide audio responses.

Samsung plans to exhibit the Bespoke AI appliances featuring the upgraded Bixby at IFA 2024, allowing more people to experience and understand how it will enhance the user experience.
