Spring has officially sprung. While there is a perception that Australians will be dusting off shelves and airing out rooms as part of a ‘Spring cleaning’ zeitgeist; fresh insights reveal a quarter (26%) of Australians are more likely to close the door on a messy room rather than vacuum it[1].

The new insights released by Samsung Australia show that Australian respondents often choose the path of least resistance – and hygiene – to avoid cleaning. Over a third (37%) of 18-25 year olds admit to throwing a rug over a mess instead of cleaning it, while two fifths (41%) let their pet ‘clean-up’ crumbs to avoid vacuuming[2]. In fact, over half (58%) of 18-25 year olds admit to only ever mopping when there is a visible spill or dirt they can’t avoid, and only ever vacuum if they have a guest coming over (37%)[3].

Australian youth aren’t the only Australians with bad cleaning habits. One in five (20%) Australian respondents admit they wait for someone else to vacuum rather than doing it themselves. Alarmingly, double that number (41%) claim to follow the ‘5-second rule’, eating food they’ve dropped on the floor knowing they’ve not mopped for at least a fortnight (49% of respondents). Further, the insights show 18-25 year old respondents are twice as likely than the general population to eat expired food from the fridge (41% vs 23%)[4].

Confusingly, while half of Australian respondents agree that it is important for their air conditioner to purify the air in their home as well as optimise the temperature (50%), just under two-thirds (60%) admit they haven’t actually checked whether the inside of their air conditioning unit is clean recently[5]. This gap highlights that Australians are aware that indoor air quality can impact their health, but aren’t willing or certain of how to follow through on maintenance.

According to Rachel Carter, Head of Home Appliances, Samsung Australia, many Australians still approach cleaning as a laborious manual chore without realising that hours of time and effort could be saved with the help of smart yet affordable appliances. Further, she says there needs to be better education that many appliances clean themselves to help maintain house hygiene.

“As the weather warms up, many Australians are ready to spend more time doing the things they like most with the people they love in the great outdoors. While understandably, staying inside doing housework might not be high on that list, it’s important to schedule in regular cleaning to help keep homes fresh,” said Ms. Carter.

“In 2025, almost every appliance in Samsung’s product range is designed to help save you time and money, so you can focus on what is important. Our Bespoke Jet Bot Combo^TM vacuum can be scheduled to clean and mop the floors while you’re out so you come home to fresh floors everyday. The Bespoke Jet Bot Combo AI is an AI-powered vacuum and mop robot cleaner that is set to bring further convenience to Australian homes. The Bespoke Jet Bot Combo AI transforms home cleaning with its unique all-in-one vacuum and mop capabilities. The new all-in-one vacuum and mop robot cleaner cleans more effectively[3] with the all new Integrated Clean Station Steam+ which auto-empties dust[4], thoroughly washes and sanitises the mop pads[5] with hot water[6], and dries them with hot air[7], it then sprays steam on them to help reduce 99.99% of certain harmful bacteria[8] and reduce unpleasant odours, enabling hygienic maintenance from start to finish. The powerful spinning mops work at an impressive 170 RPM on average to actively scrub off even the most stubborn stains.

Smart AI Features for a Spotless Home

The high performing Bespoke Jet Bot Combo AI includes AI Object and Stain Recognition, by using Al capabilities[9] and with the in-built camera, it can recognise[10] spaces, objects[11] and stains[12] to provide Australians with a superior cleaning experience. Additionally, the all-in-one vacuum and mop robot cleaner incorporates a Stained Area Deep Cleaning feature to identify stains on the floor. Once the vacuuming is complete, it returns to the stained area with mop pads heated with steam and water[13] for a thorough clean.

Furthermore, the Bespoke Jet Bot Combo AI can even sense the floor type to provide enhanced cleaning, using a feature called AI Floor Detect. It distinguishes between hard floors and carpet, and then automatically boosts its 6000pa of suction power which helps to vacuum up deep-lying dust in carpets. Furthermore, it helps prevent consumer’s carpets from getting wet and being contaminated by dirty mop pads. When the Bespoke Jet Bot Combo AI detects carpet or a rug, it determines whether to lift up the mop pads or to detach them at the Clean Station to minimise cross surface contamination.

Effortless cleaning with seamless connectivity

Consumers can control and monitor the Bespoke Jet Bot Combo AI remotely using the SmartThings app[14] on their compatible smartphones. With four different cleaning modes[15] the all-in-one vacuum and mop robot cleaner can be scheduled to clean either a single or multiple rooms. Using the dToF LiDAR senses the Bespoke Jet Bot Combo AI creates a layout[16] of the home and converts it into a 3D map[17], even including appliances and furniture. Controlled via the SmartThings app, it can be used to custom-define virtual “no-go” zones such as the bathroom, the veranda or the entrance, to ensure it avoids designated areas.

Furthermore, with Live Cleaning Report, consumers can easily track the movement of the Bespoke Jet Bot Combo AI on a virtual map of their homes in real time. Consumers can see where it has cleaned, and even pause or instruct it to stop cleaning. Once it has completed cleaning, users can check its cleaning history to see which areas have been cleaned, how long it took, and which path it followed.

The all-in-one vacuum and mop robot cleaner also offers Bixby[18] voice recognition capabilities, meaning consumers can simply speak[19] and the Bespoke Jet Bot Combo AI commences its cleaning routine. Using voice commands busy Australians can schedule it to work remotely, instruct it to clean, empty its dust bin and locate its current position in the home, simply through the SmartThings app to ensure the home is pristine at all times.

The Bespoke Jet Bot Combo is an AI-applied vacuum and mop robot cleaner that improves the user experience both during and after cleaning. The upgraded AI Object Recognition[3] applied to the Bespoke Jet Bot Combo evolves from the technology previously introduced in the Bespoke Jet Bot AI+. It expands the number of objects it can distinguish, enabling more precise driving thanks to 3D sensor applied[4].

The most notable improvement is that AI Object Recognition can also recognize space and stains to provide users with better cleaning experiences. It can determine and categorises mapped areas like a living room and a kitchen, and automatically suggests setting up “no-go zones” such as the bathroom, the veranda or the entrance, to ensure the robot vacuum avoids designated areas. Meanwhile, when the Bespoke Jet Bot Combo detects a stain, it goes back to the clean station to heat the mop pads with high temperature steam and water and then returns to the area. With powerful spinning mops at 170 RPM, it can actively scrub off even hardened stains. These result in highly effective autonomous cleaning that can reduce user intervention in a variety of environments.

Additionally, the model can even sense the floor type to provide enhanced cleaning, using a feature called AI Floor Detect. It distinguishes between hard floors and carpeting, and then automatically boosts its suction power which is appropriate even to vacuum up deep-lying dust in carpets. Furthermore, it helps prevent users’ carpets from getting wet and being contaminated by dirty mop pads. When the Bespoke Jet Bot Combo detects a carpet, it determines whether to lift up the mop pads or to detach them at the clean station to provide the anti-cross contamination solution.

The Bespoke Jet Bot Combo clean station supplies a 3-step Total Cleaning System for mop pads, which includes auto wash, steam cleaning and auto dry with hot air. After it washes the mops with hot water heated by high temperature steam, it then sprays steam on them to help prevent odors, enabling hygienic maintenance.
