Samsung Electronics Australia today announced the extension of its Smart AI Washing Machine and Dryer range, bringing three new Smart Washing Machines and three new Smart Heatpump Dryers in a range of sizes and new black colourway.

Building on Samsung’s desire to leverage intuitive innovations to help transform and support the lives of everyday Australian families, the entire range of washing machines and dryers are now smart and packed with features for faster and more efficient cleaning.

Smarter, faster, and more efficient cleaning

On average people only use 3.7 of 14 wash cycle options[2] and are actively seeking intelligent and intuitive laundry solutions that make doing the laundry quick and simple. Through the device’s AI capabilities and simple to use control panel, Samsung’s Smart AI is designed to learn, remember and recommend the most effective wash cycle for each user by analysing washing habits[3].

For those looking for simplicity, the new washing machines feature AI Wash, which does the washing for you by using four built-in sensors to determine the level of soiling and laundry weight to optimise the amount of water, detergent, and rinse time. When connected to a Smart HeatPump Dryer users can also take advantage of Auto Cycle Link[4]. The dryer automatically picks up the correct cycle from the washing machine and adjusts the settings so your clothes are looked after during the drying process.

Households that are looking to save time can take advantage of Super Speed Wash and Super Dry cycles. In under two hours, a mixed load of up to 5KG can be washed (39 minutes) and dried (81mins)[5].

Models in the lineup will continue to offer Samsung’s QuickDrive^TM technology which provides great cleaning performance by reducing the washing time by up to 50%[7]. The independently moving drum and backplate allows for more dynamic actions, cleaning garments more thoroughly and in less time.

Smart connectivity that simplifies chores

Samsung’s extended Smart AI laundry lineup is compatible with the SmartThings app[8], offering users control over laundry settings from their smartphone and features like Laundry Planner and Laundry Recipe to simplify laundry routines.

Through the SmartThings app, users can plan the day to suit their schedule and run the home efficiently in the background. With intelligent location-based recommendations, users can start, stop, and set the optimum wash cycle with SmartThings app. This allows for users to turn the washing machine on while they are at work so it’s ready when they get home as an example.

Efficient washing and drying

The new range also includes Samsung’s Hygiene Steam feature to sanitise and clean clothes by attacking germs to help reduce up to 99.99% of certain bacteria[9]. Samsung’s BubbleWash, which generates foam by pre-mixing detergent with air and water from the beginning of the cycle, and BubbleSoak an optional prewash treatment that thoroughly soaks clothes in the bubbles before the wash starts, ensuring a thorough clean.

Samsung’s Smart Heatpump Dryers feature AI Dry System that uses up to nine sensors to continually monitor temperature and humidity levels in the drum and intelligently adjust drying time while being gentle on clothes. The range has an outstanding 9-star energy rating that delivers efficient performance while using less energy. It also features Air Wash technology to deodorise and refresh clothes to remove odours between washes by using hot air and without the use of chemicals or water.

Samsung Electronics Australia has today announced the local launch of the award-winning AirDresser – an innovative new approach to clothing care that optimises powerful air and steam to help remove germs, allergens and dust refreshing and sanitising clothes between washes, thus allowing users to extend wear of their favourite clothes, while spending less time dry-cleaning or in the laundry.

AirDresser works using a combination of Samsung’s Jet Air technology and Air Hangers, which blasts powerful air through the clothing and is designed to help loosen and remove dust and most odours¹ caused by sweat, tobacco, cooking and dry cleaning.
