According to the International Data Corporation (IDC), Samsung Electronics has taken the top position in the global OLED monitor market by capturing 34.7% of market share [1] based on total revenue, and the top position in market share based on sales volume with 28.3% of OLED monitors sold in 2023.[2]

Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., today announced new Odyssey OLED gaming monitors debuting at CES® 2024, the world’s biggest tech event owned and produced by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA)®, in Las Vegas next week.

The new OLED models deliver on the performance and visual clarity gamers look for in their monitors, and include the Odyssey OLED G9 (Model Name: G95SD), Odyssey OLED G8 (Model Name: G80SD), and the Odyssey OLED G6 (Model Name: G60SD).

The Odyssey OLED G9 is a 49″ curved ultra-wide gaming monitor with DQHD (5,120×1,440) resolution and a 32:9 aspect ratio and other upgraded features.[1] The Odyssey OLED G8 is Samsung’s first flat 32-inch Samsung OLED gaming monitor with 4K UHD (3,840×2,160) resolution and a 16:9 aspect ratio. Both monitors have a 240Hz refresh rate and 0.03ms GTG response time[2]. The Odyssey OLED G6 is a 27″ QHD (2,560×1,440) monitor which supports a 16:9 aspect ratio, 360Hz refresh rate and 0.03ms GTG response time.

The 57” Odyssey Neo G9 (G95NC model) is designed to deliver groundbreaking visual experiences for gamers looking to enhance performance and sharpen their competitive edge. Samsung Electronics Australia today announced the local availability of the 49” Odyssey OLED G9 gaming monitor (G95SC model) – a power-packed gaming monitor with a DisplayHDR True Black 400 and next-level AI upscaling technology to achieve incredible picture quality. Meeting Gamers Where They Are: Brasil Game Show, PAX West and TwitchCon

The Odyssey Ark was installed at the Brasil Game Show 2022 held in São Paulo from October 6 to 12, 2022.

The Odyssey Ark was also featured at Brasil Game Show 2022, Latin America’s largest gaming show, held in São Paulo in October of this year. The Samsung booth showcased several models, including the Odyssey Ark and Odyssey Neo G9, in experience zones where gamers could see the difference Samsung can make. This was the first public debut of the Odyssey Ark, and it received a lot of fanfare.

Samsung’s tour through Latin America didn’t stop there: In the same month, gamers at the Argentina Game Show 2022 in Buenos Aires were mesmerised by the Odyssey Ark. During the exhibition, more than 100,000 attendees visited Samsung’s booth. Coscu, a famous gamer with more than four million subscribers was the one of them and helped attract more visitors to Samsung’s booth during the event.

With over 250 Odyssey monitors at the event, gamers enjoyed immersive gameplay at PAX West Seattle held on September 2-5, 2022.

Australian’s eager to secure their new personal gaming theatre can pre-order an Odyssey Ark from today until 23 October 2022, via the Samsung Online Store and Harvey Norman. The Odyssey Ark’s large 55-inch screen is designed to enhance the viewing experience by wrapping around the user’s field of view thanks to the monitor’s 1000R curvature. This is further emphasised by Cockpit Mode, which helps enable the screen to rotate with HAS (Height Adjustable Stand), tilt and pivot functionality for an optimal screen environment that creates a new sense of world-blending immersion.

The Odyssey Ark brings Samsung’s Quantum Matrix Technology to bear, using Quantum Mini LEDs, which enable ultra-fine and precise control of the densely packed LEDs. Gamers increasingly expect personalised and customisable gaming experiences. The Odyssey Ark provides a range of innovative features that let gamers adjust screen size, position and even ratio for an optimal gaming setup. First, the solar-powered Ark Dial – the exclusive controller for the Odyssey Ark – can quickly and simply control a variety of settings, including Flex Move Screen, Multi View, Quick Settings and Game Bar.

Flex Move Screen allows users to adjust screen size between 55- and 27-inches, change the screen position and even switch the screen ratio between 16:9, 21:9 and 32:9 – all with just one touch of Ark Dial. Multi View allows users to use the large screen to its full potential by displaying up to four screens all at once while horizontal, or three while in Cockpit Mode.
