Samsung Electronics Australia today announced the extension of its Smart AI Washing Machine and Dryer range, bringing three new Smart Washing Machines and three new Smart Heatpump Dryers in a range of sizes and new black colourway.

Building on Samsung’s desire to leverage intuitive innovations to help transform and support the lives of everyday Australian families, the entire range of washing machines and dryers are now smart and packed with features for faster and more efficient cleaning.

On average people only use 3.7 of 14 wash cycle options[2] and are actively seeking intelligent and intuitive laundry solutions that make doing the laundry quick and simple. Through the device’s AI capabilities and simple to use control panel, Samsung’s Smart AI is designed to learn, remember and recommend the most effective wash cycle for each user by analysing washing habits[3].

For those looking for simplicity, the new washing machines feature AI Wash, which does the washing for you by using four built-in sensors to determine the level of soiling and laundry weight to optimise the amount of water, detergent, and rinse time. When connected to a Smart HeatPump Dryer users can also take advantage of Auto Cycle Link[4]. The dryer automatically picks up the correct cycle from the washing machine and adjusts the settings so your clothes are looked after during the drying process.

Households that are looking to save time can take advantage of Super Speed Wash and Super Dry cycles. In under two hours, a mixed load of up to 5KG can be washed (39 minutes) and dried (81mins)[5].

Through the SmartThings app, users can plan the day to suit their schedule and run the home efficiently in the background. Samsung’s BubbleWash, which generates foam by pre-mixing detergent with air and water from the beginning of the cycle, and BubbleSoak an optional prewash treatment that thoroughly soaks clothes in the bubbles before the wash starts, ensuring a thorough clean.

Samsung’s Smart Heatpump Dryers feature AI Dry System that uses up to nine sensors to continually monitor temperature and humidity levels in the drum and intelligently adjust drying time while being gentle on clothes. It also features Air Wash technology to deodorise and refresh clothes to remove odours between washes by using hot air and without the use of chemicals or water.

The range also includes Samsung’s Digital Inverter Compressor which is designed for energy efficiency by utilising strong magnets for quieter and stronger performance, while using less energy compared to a universal motor.

Hard on dirt, gentle on clothes

Samsung’s steam and hygiene cycles across the washing machine and dryer range are designed to attack germs and can reduce up to 99.99% of certain common bacteriaiv when sanitising both wet and dry clothes.

BubbleWash is designed to generate foam by pre-mixing detergent with air and water from the beginning of the cycle. The optional, pre-wash treatment thoroughly soaks clothes in bubbles before the wash starts to help ensure a thorough clean.

Increased energy efficiency

The new dryer has 9-star energy rated Heat Pump technology which is Samsung’s most efficient yet. Additionally, BubbleWash technology in the washers are capable of activating detergent even in cold water, saving consumers additional energy that may have been used to heat water.

The OptimalDry System is an intelligent drying system which uses moisture sensors to monitor humidity levels and adjust drying time for the best result, while helping to protect clothes from damage.
