Samsung Electronics Australia today announced the expansion of its Mobile eXperience (MX) channel distribution, making its rugged mobile and tablet

Samsung Electronics Australia today announced the expansion of its Mobile eXperience (MX) channel distribution, making its rugged mobile and tablet range available through Ingram Micro Australia. The announcement builds on the long-standing relationship between Samsung’s Display business and Ingram Micro, and reflects the rapid growth and diversification of Samsung’s local B2B operations.

The expanded relationship enables Samsung to scale its presence across enterprise, government, field services, logistics, transport, and other rugged dependent verticals. It also opens greater access to system integrators and solution bundling partners who play a critical role in deploying rugged mobility in complex operational environments.

“We are experiencing an increased appetite for rugged devices, and as this demand continues to expand across Australian industries, strengthening our distribution ecosystem is critical,” said Shawn Kwon, Vice President, Integrated B2B at Samsung Electronics Australia.

“By collaborating with Ingram Micro Australia, we are growing our network to provide greater customer choice, and ensure our solutions reach more businesses – spanning a wide array of frontline sectors, from retail through to healthcare – that rely on rugged devices to support these teams. With the infrastructure and resource boom continuing, we are also gaining strong momentum in construction and mining industries. The collaboration between us and Ingram Micro Australia strengthens Samsung’s overall channel architecture by extending availability through a broader reseller network nationwide. This diversification is designed to help grow the total market, broaden product availability, and increase purchasing choice for customers, all while maintaining continuity for existing partners.”

Mo Kandeel, Director of Consumer, Client & Endpoint at Ingram Micro Australia elaborated, “We’re excited to announce the expansion of our strategic relationship with Samsung, now encompassing full distribution of Samsung’s mX solution portfolio across the Australian channel. This strengthens Ingram Micro Australia’s commitment to delivering best in class mobility, security, and productivity solutions to partners, while enabling Samsung to scale its reach through Ingram Micro Australia’s established distribution, logistics, and enablement capabilities. By combining Samsung’s innovation in mobile devices and enterprise mobility with our Australian channel expertise, together we are positioned to unlock new growth opportunities across commercial, government, education, and emerging vertical markets.”

The expansion will enable channel partners to design and deliver standalone products or end‑to‑end solutions – spanning hardware, software and cloud services – more easily and effectively.

Samsung’s rugged portfolio includes smartphones and tablets designed for various work environments, featuring IP68 ratings and MILSTD810H for performance, and protected by Samsung Knox built-in security. The partnership with Ingram Micro aims to make these solutions more accessible to organisations seeking high-performance, secure and reliable devices for frontline teams.

Over the past month, Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd hosted five launch events, showcasing its latest additions to the Rugged Range lineup across multiple capital cities. Designed specifically for demanding environments and B2B applications, the Galaxy XCover7 and Galaxy Tab Active5 empower workforces to maximise productivity with a seamless, versatile user experience. As 89% of businesses surveyed in the Asia-Pacific agree mobile devices are a key contributor to strong business performance,[1] it’s clear why access to efficient and practice devices is so important when it comes to empowering your employees.

As a first-of-its-kind national B2B experience, Samsung was able to bring in-person immersive events to Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide, making it easier for key partners across the country to learn about the range and get hands-on. With immersive product experiences and customer testimonials, B2B customers were able to see firsthand, the real benefits of Samsung rugged devices and the ways they can help innovate their work place.

Rob Taylor, Head of B2B Division, Mobile eXperience at Samsung Australia said, “Our research supports the growing interest of enterprise devices and as ways of working evolve, employers need access to durable, optimised and secure devices to maximise productivity in their workforce. These events allow partners to see how these features are brought to life on Galaxy rugged devices first-hand.”

Stephen Mummery, Regional Sales Director, Advanced Mobile IT (AMIT) said, “The Samsung range, and in particular the Tab Active series, have been a cornerstone offering for AMIT customers seeking an in vehicle ruggedised tablet solution. The Samsung Tab Active Range has allowed AMIT customers to refresh the tablet without having to change other infrastructure such as docks and power solutions due to its almost exact same form factor as the previous model. The Samsung XCover is probably the most affordable ruggedised handset available today. The programmable quick launch key allows for fast application use in the field.”

In total, the launch events saw an attendance of over 300 partners and customers, across construction, mining, manufacturing, and government sectors.
