Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. today announced a partnership with game developers Nexon Korea and Neople to deliver incredible 3D experiences in the upcoming game ‘The First Berserker: Khazan.’ The game’s 3D elements are being specially customised and designed during development, utilising Samsung technology and the advanced capabilities of the Odyssey 3D (G90XF) monitor to create a glasses-free immersive 3D gaming experience.

Through this partnership, Nexon, Neople and Samsung have been working closely to tailor the 3D visuals, carefully adjusting them based on the composition of characters, backgrounds, and cinematics throughout the game. This process gives the developers increased control over the 3D effects, enabling them to bring their creative visions to life with more precision.

By fine-tuning the focal distance for 3D effects on a case-by-case basis, Nexon and Neople aim to develop specific scenarios that determine when and how elements become 3D. These efforts help to reduce crosstalk a common issue causing visual overlap — while enhancing the clarity of epic boss battles and cinematic cut-scenes.

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. has unveiled its 2025 Smart Monitor, Odyssey Gaming Monitor and ViewFinity Monitor lineups at Samsung’s First Look event at the 2025 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), Las Vegas, on January 5.

Samsung’s 2025 models raise the bar for monitors by bringing AI features, industry-first sizes in the OLED market, and new form factors that can ignite the passions of users worldwide — whether they’re working, gaming or creating.

Smart Monitor M9: Entertainment and Efficiency Get an AI Upgrade

The Smart Monitor M9 (M90SF model) introduces industry-first AI features that enhance entertainment and interactivity through smart picture adaptation and search functions.

As the first monitor to integrate on-device AI[1], the Smart Monitor M9 features AI Picture Optimiser, which analyses input signals to determine the type of content being viewed — such as gaming, video or productivity applications — and automatically adjusts the display settings for the best visual experience[2]. For gamers, the AI goes further by recognising the genre of the game being played and fine-tunes the picture settings to deliver an optimal and immersive experience for virtually every playstyle[3].

The Smart Monitor M9 also incorporates 4K AI Upscaling Pro, which uses advanced AI processing and neural networks to upgrade lower-resolution content up to 4K quality[4]. By analysing input signals and existing image data, this feature delivers clear visuals with enhanced detail, regardless of the original resolution.

Samsung’s Odyssey gaming monitor series powers up exceptional performance in new sizes with the 2025 Odyssey OLED G8 and Odyssey OLED G6 models.

The Odyssey OLED G8 (G81SF model) is the first 27” 4K (3,840 x 2,160) OLED gaming monitor in the world[5]. The screen packs in 165 pixels per inch (PPI) with a refresh rate of 240Hz. The tight pixel density and screen smoothness gives game creators and players a new level of detail and picture quality as they build and explore realistic gaming worlds.

On the other hand, the Odyssey OLED G6 (G60SF model) redefines speed as the first-ever OLED screen with a 500Hz refresh rate on its QHD (2,560 x 1,440) screen[6]. The lightning-fast speed and ultra-smooth gameplay unleashes the potential for gamers who demand the best to gain a winning edge from device performance.

Both models deliver a response time of 0.03ms (GTG) for smooth visuals and crisp gameplay, even in fast-paced gaming environments. Samsung is also showcasing the 27” Odyssey 3D (G90XF model) gaming monitor at CES. Thanks to its lenticular lens attached to the front of the panel and its front stereo camera, the Odyssey 3D provides a customisable 3D experience without the need for separate 3D glasses. It can also add a new depth to content by using AI to analyse and convert 2D video into 3D.

Availability of the Odyssey OLED G6 (G60SF model), Odyssey OLED G8 (G81SF model), and 27” Odyssey 3D (G90XF model) in Australia has not been announced.

ViewFinity S8: A Bigger Canvas for Productivity and Creativity

The ViewFinity S8 (S80UD model) is Samsung’s largest 16:9 4K monitor to date[8]. Its 37” screen is approximately 34% larger than the previous model[9] and is designed to maximise productivity, immersion and efficiency. With its sRGB 99% colour gamut faithfully presenting colours on the 4K (3,840 x 2,160) screen, the ViewFinity S8 delivers the colour representation and brightness necessary for professional users to do their best work.

The 2025 ViewFinity S8 has been certified by TÜV Rheinland[10] for ‘Ergonomic Workspace Display,’ recognising its ergonomic design that enhances work immersion, task efficiency and productivity. TÜV-certified[11] Intelligent Eye Care can reduce fatigue in users’ eyes — even during prolonged use — by adjusting the colour temperature based on the environment’s lighting. Eye saver mode and a flicker-free feature also help protect eyes from strain.

With a simple Easy Setup Stand, the S8 also keeps productivity high through a built-in KVM[12] switch, turning the monitor into a single command station for multitasking across several devices with only one mouse and keyboard. Samsung Electronics Australia has today announced its first OLED gaming monitor, the Odyssey OLED G8, is coming to Australia in March 2023 (RRP $1,999). The Odyssey OLED G8 is available for pre-order between 16 February 2023 and 5 March 2023, and customers who pre-order the gaming monitor during this period will receive a Samsung SSD 990 PRO 2TB worth $389 RRP as a bonus gift while stocks last[1].

First announced at IFA 2022, the Odyssey OLED G8 is Samsung’s first OLED gaming monitor, designed to deliver the brilliant colour, brighter whites and true deep blacks that Samsung’s Quantum Dot OLED displays are known for.

The 34-inch Odyssey OLED G8 requires no backlighting while delivering true RGB and is VESA DisplayHDR 400 True Black Certified, ensuring content appears vivid and life-like with accurate colour and contrast reproduction. Given lighting is controlled in individual pixels, vivid graphics can be expressed in black with a near-infinite contrast ratio – all without a colour filter.

The Odyssey OLED G8 is the slimmest in its product category – measuring 3.9mm at its thinnest part – and is finished with a sleek, metal frame. Its ultra-wide, QHD resolution (3,440 x 1,440) display has a 21:9 aspect ratio with 100% colour volume and DCI-99.3% colour gamut for incredible visuals regardless of the game being played. Level up with a Smart TV experience

The Odyssey OLED G8 is capable of operating as a complete entertainment hub with the ability to stream content through Samsung’s Smart Hub, giving access to the latest shows on Amazon Prime, Netflix, YouTube and other leading over-the-top service providers, even without a connection to a PC or mobile device.[2]

In addition, consumers can enjoy free live content without the need for downloads or sign-ups[3], made possible by Samsung TV Plus. Users can wirelessly connect to a Windows or Mac PC, use Samsung DeX or AirPlay 2 to mirror their screen use, or access Microsoft 365 cloud services[4] for work productivity.

Odyssey innovation will continue throughout 2023

Samsung’s Odyssey range will continue to expand down under in 2023, with the Odyssey OLED G8 and recently launched Odyssey G6 arriving ahead of the Odyssey OLED G9 and Odyssey Neo G9 gaming monitors unveiled at CES 2023, coming later this year.

Samsung’s 2023 Odyssey range was crafted from the insight that despite monitors being commonplace at home, few monitor owners are completely satisfied with their current device^[5]. Locally, a mere one in four Australians rate their current monitor’s refresh rates and response times as ‘very good’, while just over a quarter of Australians say they are satisfied with the contrast and colour vibrancy available on their current displays^[6].

Moreover, Australian’s have also suggested a curved screen with improved audio capabilities would not only help to improve ergonomics and reduce eye strain, but provide a more immersive experience when they game and consume content such as videos and movies^[7].
