Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. today announced the Australian launch of Odyssey Neo G7 (Model name: G70NC), the company’s first flat Mini-LED model, adding a new form factor to the industry-leading Odyssey lineup. The new monitor delivers a large screen designed to give gamers a more comprehensive range of vision and details – inviting them to explore the worlds of their games with near life-like picture quality.

The large 43” screen delivers 4K resolution (3,840 x 2,160) with VESA Display HDR600 and HDR 10+ certification for advanced picture quality showcasing some of the best graphics of today. The Odyssey Neo G7 brings Samsung’s Quantum Matrix Technology to the fore, using Quantum Mini LEDs, which enable ultra-fine and precise control of the densely packed LEDs. Samsung Electronics Australia has today announced its first OLED gaming monitor, the Odyssey OLED G8, is coming to Australia in March 2023 (RRP $1,999). The Odyssey OLED G8 is available for pre-order between 16 February 2023 and 5 March 2023, and customers who pre-order the gaming monitor during this period will receive a Samsung SSD 990 PRO 2TB worth $389 RRP as a bonus gift while stocks last[1].

First announced at IFA 2022, the Odyssey OLED G8 is Samsung’s first OLED gaming monitor, designed to deliver the brilliant colour, brighter whites and true deep blacks that Samsung’s Quantum Dot OLED displays are known for.

The 34-inch Odyssey OLED G8 requires no backlighting while delivering true RGB and is VESA DisplayHDR 400 True Black Certified, ensuring content appears vivid and life-like with accurate colour and contrast reproduction. Given lighting is controlled in individual pixels, vivid graphics can be expressed in black with a near-infinite contrast ratio – all without a colour filter.

The Odyssey OLED G8 is the slimmest in its product category – measuring 3.9mm at its thinnest part – and is finished with a sleek, metal frame. Odyssey innovation will continue throughout 2023

Samsung’s Odyssey Ark, the world’s first 55-inch 1000R curved gaming screen

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. today unveiled its latest gaming Monitor lineup at Gamescom 2022 in Cologne, Germany, including the cinematic Odyssey Ark and the Odyssey G7 (G70B) and G6 (G65B) monitors. The Odyssey Ark, announced earlier this month, is the world’s first 55-inch 1000R curved gaming screen, with a 165Hz refresh rate, 1ms response time (GtG) and all new Cockpit Mode.

Newly unveiled at Gamescom 2022 are the Odyssey G7 and G6 gaming monitors. These models in the Odyssey lineup feature Samsung’s Smart Platform, doubling up as a Gaming Monitor and Smart TV all in one.

Both the G7 and G6 provide smart functionality, including the option to create a home office environment even without a PC. The monitors conveniently connect with various IT devices and services all from one screen for an ultra-efficient working environment. Users can wirelessly connect to a compatible Windows or Mac PC, use Samsung DeX, mirror a smartphone screen onto the monitor using Apple AirPlay 2, as well as access Microsoft 365 cloud services. Users can also watch the latest shows on Netflix, Amazon Prime, and other leading over-the-top service providers.[3]

In addition to the IoT functionality also available on the Odyssey Ark, the G7 and G6 are equipped with a high-sensitivity Far Field Voice microphone, allowing users to control the device with voice assistants such as Bixby and Amazon Alexa. The G6 is offered in 27- and 32-inch size option and is equipped with a 240Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time (GtG). The QHD, 1000R curved display comes with FreeSync Premium Pro for a flawless gaming experience that will give any player a competitive edge.

Evolution of Neo QLED with Neo Quantum Processor and Dynamic Sound Experience

Thanks to the Neo Quantum Processor and the incredible picture technology and sound it delivers, 2022 Neo QLED will provide pristine images and immersive soundscapes that have never before been experienced by Australians.

This year’s Neo Quantum Processor introduces a new Shape Adaptive Light technology that leverages the Processor’s powerful AI algorithms to analyse lines, shapes and surfaces and control the shape of light from the advanced Quantum Mini LED backlight, maximising the brightness and accuracy of shapes on the screen. The result is outstanding image quality that puts HDR content on full display and unlocks the enhanced 14-bit HDR processing which quadruples Neo QLED’s greyscale levels compared to 2021 for the most accurate image ever produced on a Samsung TV.

Samsung’s 2022 Neo QLED also features Real Depth Enhancer, a multi-intelligence picture quality algorithm that creates a great sense of realism by determining and processing an object on the screen against its background to create a sense of depth.

Additionally, Samsung’s 2022 Neo QLED features the screen’s brightness and tone based on a built-in light sensor and sunset/sunrise information.[2] As the ambient light changes, the screen will gradually reduce the amount of light and offer warmer tones, adjusting the blue light levels accordingly. This allows for a more comfortable viewing experience at night by reducing blue light.

Neo QLED’s sound features are getting a major upgrade as well. Building on OTS (Object Tracking Sound), which directs the sound to move across the room along with the object on-screen, 2022 Neo QLED will take their proprietary technology to another level with native Dolby Atmos support – the industry’s first TV to support Dolby Atmos with upwards and side firing speakers for three dimensional sound without the need for peripheral devices[3]

A new Anti-Glare Matte Display with anti-reflection and anti-fingerprint properties has been applied to The Frame, The Sero and The Serif, providing an exceptionally pleasant and comfortable viewing experiences.
