Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. today announced the availability of its latest Smart Monitor lineup in Australia, featuring the flagship Smart Monitor M9 (M90SF model) alongside updated Smart Monitor M8 (M80F) and Smart Monitor M7 (M70F) models. With the introduction of QD-OLED technology to the Smart Monitor M9 and Samsung Vision AI features across the lineup; the new Smart Monitor offerings provide personalised and connected screen experiences for work and entertainment.

Smart Monitor M9 (M90F): OLED Picture, Intelligent Performance

The Smart Monitor M9 introduces QD-OLED technology to the Smart Monitor lineup for the first time. Its 32-inch 4K QD-OLED panel delivers deep contrast and vibrant colour, offering an immersive visual experience across productivity, streaming and gaming. Samsung OLED Safeguard+ helps maintain screen integrity over time with a proprietary cooling system designed to reduce the risk of burn-in. The M9 also features a Glare-Free display to minimise reflections and ensure consistent visibility and comfort — even in bright lighting conditions.[1]

The M9 is powered by AI Picture Optimiser, 4K AI Upscaling Pro[2] and Active Voice Amplifier (AVA) Pro, which work together to enhance picture and sound quality in real time based on content and surroundings. Whether users are watching, creating or multitasking, the display adapts automatically to deliver optimised performance.

The M9 also serves as a smart entertainment hub with access to popular streaming apps, Samsung TV Plus and Samsung Gaming Hub — which enables cloud-based gaming without a connected console or PC[3]. With a 165Hz refresh rate and a 0.03ms response time (GtG), the M9 supports smooth, fast-moving visuals ideal for high-performance use.[4]

The M9 features a slim metal design that blends premium aesthetics with functional form, creating a modern look that complements any workspace. The Smart Monitor M9 has also earned a Pantone Validated certification from Pantone. This certification highlights its advanced adaptive colour technology, which ensures an exceptional colour reproduction capability that meets Pantone’s rigorous standards for authentic colour that is nearly indistinguishable to the human eye under standard lighting conditions.[5]

Smart Monitor M8 (M80F) and M7 (M70F): Versatile Displays with AI Functionality and Enhanced Connectivity

The new Smart Monitor M8 and Smart Monitor M7 extend Samsung’s smart monitor experience to a broader audience, offering 32-inch 4K UHD screens with vibrant picture quality and built-in AI features. Equipped with Samsung’s advanced VA panel technology, both models deliver sharp detail and rich contrast, making them ideal for everyday productivity, streaming and much more. Tizen OS Home also personalises recommendations and makes it easier to access frequently used services and inputs.

Designed for flexibility, all three models – M9, M8, and M7 – integrate with SmartThings[6], support Multi Control[7] between Samsung devices and offer Multi View for side-by-side working or entertainment. With Microsoft 365[8] access, users can create and edit documents directly from the monitor without a PC, making the lineup a practical solution for modern work setups.

The Smart Monitor M9 (Silver), M8 (Black) and M7 (Black and White) are available in 32-inch screen sizes and will begin rolling out nationwide from today via Samsung’s Online Store and leading retailers. The Smart Monitor M9 (M90SF model) introduces industry-first AI features that enhance entertainment and interactivity through smart picture adaptation and search functions.

As the first monitor to integrate on-device AI[1], the Smart Monitor M9 features AI Picture Optimiser, which analyses input signals to determine the type of content being viewed — such as gaming, video or productivity applications — and automatically adjusts the display settings for the best visual experience[2]. For gamers, the AI goes further by recognising the genre of the game being played and fine-tunes the picture settings to deliver an optimal and immersive experience for virtually every playstyle[3].

The Smart Monitor M9 also incorporates 4K AI Upscaling Pro, which uses advanced AI processing and neural networks to upgrade lower-resolution content up to 4K quality[4]. By analysing input signals and existing image data, this feature delivers clear visuals with enhanced detail, regardless of the original resolution.

These smart and personalised features enhance the hardware performance of the Smart Monitor M9. It features a 32” 4K OLED screen with VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 for incredible details and vivid colours. Its thin design, along with the Easy Setup Stand, allows users to effortlessly create their ideal workspace, and a built-in 4K camera makes it convenient to use in virtually any environment.

Samsung Odyssey Series: Two Industry Firsts with a 27” 4K OLED Gaming Monitor and an OLED Screen with a 500Hz Refresh Rate

Samsung’s Odyssey gaming monitor series powers up exceptional performance in new sizes with the 2025 Odyssey OLED G8 and Odyssey OLED G6 models.

The Odyssey OLED G8 (G81SF model) is the first 27” 4K (3,840 x 2,160) OLED gaming monitor in the world[5]. The screen packs in 165 pixels per inch (PPI) with a refresh rate of 240Hz. The tight pixel density and screen smoothness gives game creators and players a new level of detail and picture quality as they build and explore realistic gaming worlds.

On the other hand, the Odyssey OLED G6 (G60SF model) redefines speed as the first-ever OLED screen with a 500Hz refresh rate on its QHD (2,560 x 1,440) screen[6]. The lightning-fast speed and ultra-smooth gameplay unleashes the potential for gamers who demand the best to gain a winning edge from device performance.

Both models deliver a response time of 0.03ms (GTG) for smooth visuals and crisp gameplay, even in fast-paced gaming environments. They also support AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and are NVIDIA G-Sync Compatible, allowing them to provide smooth pictures with minimal tear and flickering. VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400[7] delivers rich darks without bloom or colour bleed, making the most of the OLED screen, while OLED Glare Free screens keep the focus on the game by minimising distracting reflections and glare.

Samsung is also showcasing the 27” Odyssey 3D (G90XF model) gaming monitor at CES. Thanks to its lenticular lens attached to the front of the panel and its front stereo camera, the Odyssey 3D provides a customisable 3D experience without the need for separate 3D glasses. It can also add a new depth to content by using AI to analyse and convert 2D video into 3D.

ViewFinity S8: A Bigger Canvas for Productivity and Creativity

The ViewFinity S8 (S80UD model) is Samsung’s largest 16:9 4K monitor to date[8]. Its 37” screen is approximately 34% larger than the previous model[9] and is designed to maximise productivity, immersion and efficiency. More information can be seen at a glance while making the most out of desk space — ushering in a new era of large, high-productivity monitors.

With its sRGB 99% colour gamut faithfully presenting colours on the 4K (3,840 x 2,160) screen, the ViewFinity S8 delivers the colour representation and brightness necessary for professional users to do their best work.

The 2025 ViewFinity S8 has been certified by TÜV Rheinland[10] for ‘Ergonomic Workspace Display,’ recognising its ergonomic design that enhances work immersion, task efficiency and productivity. TÜV-certified[11] Intelligent Eye Care can reduce fatigue in users’ eyes — even during prolonged use — by adjusting the colour temperature based on the environment’s lighting. Eye saver mode and a flicker-free feature also help protect eyes from strain.

With a simple Easy Setup Stand, the S8 also keeps productivity high through a built-in KVM[12] switch, turning the monitor into a single command station for multitasking across several devices with only one mouse and keyboard. Devices can also be connected and charged at the same time with a 90W USB-C connection, making it easy to quickly manage all the accessories a user needs.

Odyssey OLED Series: Visual Excellence with New Burn-In Prevention Features

The 2024 Odyssey OLED models expand Samsung’s offerings of next-generation OLED performance with the new Odyssey OLED G8 (G80SD model) and Odyssey OLED G6 (G60SD model).

The new Odyssey OLED gaming monitors are the next entry to expand Samsung’s OLED monitor market leadership. The Odyssey range release comes after Samsung achieved the top position in global sales in the OLED monitor market within only one year of launching its first OLED model[5]. This achievement underscores Samsung’s rapid ascent in the competitive landscape of OLED monitors while reinforcing its commitment to diversifying its gaming monitor lineup with models that leverage the company’s proprietary OLED technology.

The Odyssey OLED G8 is the first flat 32” Samsung OLED gaming monitor with 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) resolution and a 16:9 aspect ratio. It has a 240Hz refresh rate and 0.03ms gray-to-gray (GtG) response time for ultra-smooth and responsive gameplay, while also being bolstered with G-Sync to help eliminate tearing and stuttering for smooth, rich visuals.

The new Odyssey OLED G8 is Samsung’s first OLED gaming monitor powered by AI. The NQ8 AI Gen3 processor, which is the same processor Samsung uses in its 2024 8K TV, upscales content to nearly 4K when using Samsung Gaming Hub[6] and the monitor’s native Smart TV apps for higher resolution in gaming and entertainment[7].

The Odyssey OLED G6 is a 27” QHD (2560 x 1440) resolution monitor, supporting a 16:9 aspect ratio. Its 360Hz refresh rate and 0.03ms (GtG) response time make it easy for gamers to keep up with fast-moving gameplay.

Both new OLED models feature Samsung OLED Safeguard+, a new Samsung proprietary burn-in protection technology. This technology is the first in the world to help prevent burn-in by applying a pulsating heat pipe to the monitor. Additionally, the Dynamic Cooling System evaporates and condenses a coolant to diffuse heat four times more than the older graphite sheet method, which helps prevent burn-in by reducing temperature at the core[8]. The monitor can also detect static images like logos and taskbars, automatically reducing their brightness to provide another means of burn-in prevention[9].

The upgraded 32” 4K UHD Smart Monitor M8 introduces new features powered by AI with the NQM AI processor, taking entertainment experiences to the next level. ViewFinity Series: Maximising Creativity and Ease of Use

Optimised for creatives and professionals, the latest ViewFinity lineup includes the ViewFinity S8 (S80UD), ViewFinity S7 (S70D model) and the ViewFinity S6 (S60UDIn 2024, the S60UD comes ready with a Daisy Chaining feature, enabling multiple monitors to be connected with a single connection – with as many as four screens at a single workstation, allowing for users to duplicate or extend content with ease.

How is the Smart Monitor series different from other monitors that are out there today?

Leslie: The monitor used to be known as a tool for PC power users. These ‘traditional’ monitors tend to be rather basic in features, and come in larger screen sizes and high definition resolutions.

The first thing to consider is the display size. I would say that the usual go-to size for most consumers is around 24 inches. So, what monitor are you currently using at home? What is your favourite feature?

Leslie: I would say I am quite a typical PC power user, and I consider the monitor an essential part of my home productivity and entertainment setup.

During lunch breaks while working from home, I can easily switch to watching the latest episode of my favorite TV show on my M8. It is really like a Smart TV, but on my desk. To squeeze in some game time, I have also plugged in my console to enjoy some of my favorite 4K game titles from my home office.

As my Samsung fridge and other smart home appliances are also on the SmartThings ecosystem, it is really convenient for me to connect and check out my appliances at a glance[3].

Samsung Electronics Australia today announced its latest Smart Monitor series, the M8, featuring an upgraded, stylish design will be coming to Australia. The versatile new M8 delivers Samsung’s iconic slim design in a new Warm White colour – available in 32-inches with UHD resolution and a SlimFit Camera.

First launched in November 2020, Samsung’s Smart Monitor series is a family of world’s first do-it-all screens designed for modern day users who demand a product that offers both functionality and entertainment at home. Not only being a traditional monitor, but the M8 also allows users to enjoy a variety of OTT entertaining streaming services[1], including Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+ and Apple TV via Wi-Fi without having to connect to a PC or TV. Switch from Monitor to a Smart TV, complete with remote control and build-in speakers.

When it comes to style, the Smart Monitor M8 offers both space and work efficiency in an ultra-stylish design. The thinness of the new model is 11.4mm, about three-quarters slimmer than the previous models.

The Smart Monitor M8 has an IoT hub called SmartThings Hub, where users can connect all their IoT devices wirelessly. Equipped with a high-sensitivity Far Field Voice microphone, the assistant controls devices such as Bixby and Amazon Alexa[4] using voice commands. Odyssey Neo G8

As Samsung’s first monitor to feature a 4K (3,840×2,160) 1000R curved screen with 240Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time (GtG), Odyssey Neo G8 32” (Model Name: G85NB) is set to open a new chapter in gaming monitor innovation, offering razor-sharp performance for even the most dedicated PC gamers. Its performance matches its stunning picture quality featuring Quantum Mini LEDs, Quantum HDR 2000 with a 2,000nit peak brightness and a million-to-one static contrast ratio, bringing out the most subtle details for increased world building and immersion.

The new Odyssey Neo G8 is built with a similar design language as the Odyssey Neo G9, offering a sleek white exterior that stands out even when it’s turned off.  Beautiful colours leap off the screen into a user’s real environment with CoreSync lighting. Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. has announced the availability of its newly expanded Smart Monitor lineup, providing more display sizes and design options, along with new and enhanced smart features. The lineup now includes a larger 43-inch M7 (UHD resolution) model, delivering enhanced productivity and an immersive entertainment experience. The M5 (FHD resolution) models are now available in 24-inch, 27-inch and 32-inch displays, featuring a sleek design and a stylish new white colour option.

The Samsung Smart Monitor series was launched in February 2021 as the world’s first do-it-all screen designed for today’s businesses, academia and consumers who are working, learning and staying entertained at home. The Smart Monitor offers integrated media and productivity apps, versatile connectivity, built-in speakers and a solar powered remote control[1].

• Smart Monitor M5 24”– The M5 range now also comes in a new 24-inch Full HD form factor, making it the most accessible Smart Monitor in terms of size and pricing. The Smart Monitor’s compact sizing makes it ideal for those who may not have the desk space for a larger monitor or for customers simply looking for a good value multi-functional monitor.

A monitor with all your favourite assistants

The voice assistant in previous models will be upgraded in June to enable not only Bixby, but also other voice assistants such as Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa. The Remote Access feature will also be updated in July to ‘PC on Screen’ in June, enabling simple and secure connectivity between the Smart Monitor and Windows PCs for improved usability.

Smart eco-friendly initiatives

As part of Samsung’s long-term sustainability program, the M7 43-inch includes an all-in-one solar powered remote made from recycled plastic 1, delivering an energy conscious efficiency with charging from indoor sunlight, lightbulbs, or a USB-C connection. In addition, the remote for other models has been partially crafted from recycled plastic. All models will include Eco-Packaging, a kind of product packaging that facilitates the upcycling of boxes into small pieces of furniture.

The screen that thinks it’s a PC

Utilising the same features as the first-generation lineup, the Samsung Smart Monitor lineup provides numerous connectivity options for both PCs and smartphones. Users can connect their personal mobile devices with just a quick tap using Tap View[2], Mirroring or with Apple AirPlay 2. In addition, Samsung DeX allows users to enjoy a complete desktop experience by connecting their monitor with their mobile device. The display also supports Microsoft 365 applications[3], enabling users to view and edit documents and conveniently save them on the cloud even without PC connection, thanks to embedded Wi-Fi. For a clean workplace setup, the Smart Monitor offers HDMI support, a USB Type-C port[4], USB ports on the M7 and Bluetooth 4.2 capabilities.

And thinks it’s a TV too

The display can also transform into a complete entertainment hub with the ability for users to access OTT content and stream their favorite movies and shows on Netflix, Stan and YouTube even without a connection to a PC or mobile device.[5]
