Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. has announced that its latest products and services earned top recognition at the IFA 2025 Innovation Awards, including nine Best of Innovation winners and 17 Honouree distinctions across multiple categories. These recognitions were granted at IFA 2025, which is Europe’s largest consumer trade show, held in Berlin, Germany Sept. 5-9 2025.

The IFA Innovation Awards are a new global program debuting at IFA 2025 to spotlight products that demonstrate outstanding innovation, design excellence and market impact. Organised by IFA Berlin, the awards mark a new chapter in the event’s century-long legacy as a leading global stage for consumer and home technology. Besides the award certifications, winners also gain licensing rights, media exposure and exclusive opportunities at future IFA events.

Highlighted IFA 2025 Best of Innovation Award Winners

Bespoke AI Laundry Combo Wins Best in Design Award for Sleek Usability

In the home appliance category, the premium all-in-one washer-dryer Bespoke AI Laundry Combo[1] was recognised with a Best in Design award, highlighting the product’s excellence and advanced technology. The Bespoke AI Laundry Combo offers the convenience of washing and drying in a single cycle, while also boasting a sleek design and a 7-inch touchscreen that enhances usability.

The Movingstyle Redefines Portable Display

The Movingstyle[2], a portable smart display that blends form and function, won two IFA Innovation Awards for Best in Home Entertainment and Best in Design. Transforming how people experience entertainment across their living spaces, The Movingstyle’s design is rooted in one simple, elegant idea: mobility should be effortless.

Inspired by the silhouette of a tote bag, the integrated handle is both a distinctive visual signature and a practical tool. With it, users can carry the 27” QHD touchscreen like a personal item, while the soft-wheeled floor stand glides smoothly between rooms. The Movingstyle also comes with a 2-in-1 One Action Stand that allows the screen to detach from the stand in a single motion, instantly becoming a self-supporting display without extra accessories.

The Premiere 5 Provides an Innovative Home Viewing Experience

As Samsung’s most compact triple-laser ultra-short-throw projector[3], The Premiere 5 also won two IFA Innovation Awards for Best in Home Entertainment and Best of Tech Innovation. At just a fraction of the size of conventional projectors, it projects screens up to 100 inches from just 43.3cm away — or 80 inches at 32.7cm and 60 inches at 22.2cm — enabling large-scale visuals even in small, aesthetic-conscious spaces.

Perhaps its most impressive feature is Touch Interaction[4], which is enabled by a built-in IR laser and camera that allows intuitive control of content, games, apps and workouts — creating interactive use cases across education, entertainment and home training.

The Freestyle+ Blends Smart Tech and Portability

The Freestyle+[5] is Samsung’s first portable smart projector to be embedded with both on-device and generative AI, which helped it to win the Best in Home Entertainment award. It is powered by Samsung’s proprietary AI Q Processor — the first AI chipset built into a smart projector — and features a built-in AI OptiScreen that includes seven built-in features that work together to straighten the image, maintain sharp focus, avoid obstacles, fit screen borders, adjust colour for wall tone, enhance visibility in different lighting and dim the light when someone steps into the beam.

The Freestyle+’s built-in generative AI model allows users to create their own ambient visuals directly from the projector, and AI Q-Symphony detects the device’s position and automatically syncs audio with Samsung speakers or soundbars to deliver immersive surround sound.

Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra Allows Users To Create Content and Game Like Never Before

Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra won two IFA Innovation Awards for Best in Content Creation and Best in Computing & Gaming. These awards were won on Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra’s suite of tools for effortless productivity, creativity and immersive gaming experiences. As a product, Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra combines ultra-performance with a thin and light design[6] to elevate creativity and power productivity on the go.

With the redesigned S Pen, powerful Samsung DeX and advanced Galaxy AI[7], it enables users to experience a new level of creativity, while its 14.6-inch[8] 120Hz Dynamic AMOLED 2X display delivers a seamlessly immersive gaming experience.

Galaxy Z Fold7 Combines Design and Next-Level Functionality for an Ultra-Smartphone Experience

Galaxy Z Fold7 won the Best in Communications & Connectivity award by bringing together the best of Galaxy design, camera functionality and AI innovation in the thinnest and lightest Galaxy Z Fold series to date. It delivers premium performance and the experience of an ultra-smartphone with a larger, more immersive display when unfolded. Featuring One UI 8, Galaxy Z Fold7 has optimised Galaxy AI9 for larger screens, maximising the benefits of the expansive foldable display to boost productivity.

Highlighted IFA 2025 Innovation Award Honorees

Bespoke AI Washer[9] – precisely controls motor operations to reduce energy consumption to 65 percent lower than a Class A rating,[10] the highest EU efficiency standard. This represents an improvement of 10 percentage points over last year’s A-55%[11] Bespoke AI Washer, revealed at IFA 2024.

Bespoke AI Jet Ultra – featuring a suction power of 400W[12] while reducing overall weight, it is the world’s most powerful stick vacuum cleaner[13]. It also supports AI Cleaning 2.0[14], which automatically adjusts suction power to suit various cleaning environments. Additionally, the Bespoke AI Jet Ultra recognises floor types such as wood, carpet and mats, as well as room structures like corners and walls[15].

Bespoke AI Dishwasher[16] – equipped with AI Wash[17], which uses an improved high-resolution turbidity sensor and AI algorithm to thoroughly clean items by detecting and analysing soil levels throughout the wash and rinse cycles adjusting water temperature and duration. Additionally, it features an Auto Open Door that enables users to open the door with a simple push on the upper area, eliminating the need for handles and allowing the product to blend seamlessly into kitchen furniture.

Bespoke AI Refrigerator with Hybrid Cooling[18] – utilises two power sources — the compressor and Peltier module — to offer efficient and precise cooling. It also comes with the upgraded AI Vision Inside, which can recognise up to 37 fresh food items and 50 processed foods.[19] Lastly, the refrigerator includes a 9” smart screen that allows it to become a hub for connected appliances, show food items and recommended recipes and provide various forms of entertainment.[20]

Micro RGB – the world’s first display to feature micro-sized RGB LED backlighting in a 115-inch screen. Unlike conventional LED TVs that rely on white or blue backlights, Micro RGB is engineered with individually controlled red, green and blue LEDs to deliver true, full-colour local dimming. It also achieves 100% of the BT.2020 colour gamut[23] and has earned VDE certification for its Micro RGB precision colour.

Now Bar and Now Brief[29] deliver helpful, personalised information on the FlexWindow, and FlexCam makes it easier than ever to capture the perfect selfie.

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. today showcased its latest innovations for the connected home. During its IFA 2023 press conference, the company highlighted its vision for SmartThings is to enable consumers to prioritise the topics they care about – from helping to save energy, increasing security and access to great entertainment to making their everyday lives more efficient. The ever-growing SmartThings ecosystem allows its 285 million users to adapt and personalise their homes to suit their needs, seamlessly connecting and controlling multiple compatible appliances and devices via one app[1].

Samsung’s presence at IFA 2023 comes as the company shares new consumer research, conducted across Europe to understand evolving needs for technology in the home[2].

“Samsung is passionate about connecting our users to the people, places and pastimes that matter most to them,” said Benjamin Braun, Chief Marketing Officer, Samsung Europe. “We will continue to take advantage of the possibilities offered by the latest innovations in technology to make sure the SmartThings ecosystem grows and develops in a way that allows people to make even more of the connections that matter.”

Enhancing the at-home experience

The SmartThings app allows users to control their homes from anywhere, helping them to enjoy seamless entertainment as well as keeping them safe. Across Europe, our homes continue to be more important than ever as they play multiple roles each day – from offices to places for relaxation and entertainment. Seven in ten consumers (71%) agree that technology has a positive impact on their everyday living, including how they interact with their friends and family, how they conduct their chores and how they enjoy their hobbies¹.

As the number one TV brand for 17 years in a row[5], Samsung has an unrivalled commitment to entertainment. It has completed its super screen line up with the launch of the 4K Q80C and 98” Neo QLED 8K, which will be available in Australia via special order only. Samsung plans to bring its full range of Micro LED screens to Australia by the end of the year, offering incredible contrast and jaw-dropping detail that places viewers in the middle of the action whether gaming or watching films.

To celebrate Disney’s 100th anniversary, Samsung has announced new Disney themed artwork that will be available on The Frame TV via the Art Store[6].

Playable through the Samsung Gaming Hub with an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership, without the need for a console[10].

Taking small steps for our planet

Samsung is committed to developing products and services that can help people save money and take steps towards a better planet. These topics are high on the agenda for consumers too, over three quarters (77%) say they seek out tech products that save energy – not only to save money, but for the benefit of the environment too4. Two-thirds (67%) also consider it important that their next appliance can connect to an app that allows them to monitor and reduce their energy consumption4.

With energy prices increasing across Europe[11], 72% of those asked are concerned about the cost of running appliances in their home[12]. To help combat this, SmartThings Energy can help users optimise the energy used across their appliances to suit their needs and lower usage.

Keeping your home secure

Samsung understands the reassurance that smart technology can provide across the generations. Security was an emerging theme from the research conducted. Watching their home while they aren’t there (54%), feeling safer when home alone (39%) and keeping their family safe when they are out of the house (39%) are seen as the key safety benefits of smart technology[13].

The SmartThings ecosystem includes a range of partners who are committed to helping people keep their homes and loved ones safe. This now includes Yale, a leading brand in home security. The Yale Linus® Smart Lock and the new Smart Opener for Gate & Garage enable doors and gates to be locked remotely via the app to ensure peace of mind for all family members.

Unlocking the future through smart technology

Samsung is invested in a future built around the possibilities that technology can unlock. One area it aims to make a difference is in making the technology for smart homes more easily available. The research shows a quarter of Europeans consider the inclusion of smart technology to be a key factor in the desirability of their next home and over three quarters of respondents said fully functional smart homes are appealing (77%)12.

Understanding this, Samsung is working to make these possibilities a reality and it believes in the power of collaboration when it comes to driving this vision forward. By partnering with ABB Smart Buildings and SMA, one of the world’s leading providers of photovoltaic and storage system technology, it hopes to connect people more closely to their homes by embedding the possibilities of smart technology into houses before they are bought. By integrating ABB and SMA products into SmartThings Energy, homes can become safer, smarter and efficient. For example, the ability to run appliances at the optimum time, tracking energy use to adjust consumption based on energy prices and usage patterns, and optimising energy use based on solar production.

This accomplishment can be attributed to the company’s commitment to premium viewing experiences and user-centered design.

By prioritising its premium product lineup, Samsung has upheld its position in the TV industry for an impressive 17 years, exemplified by its Neo QLED lineup. From 2006 to 2022, Samsung’s worldwide TV market share based on annual revenue has doubled[2].

“Our track record of industry leadership over the past 17 years was made possible by our consumers’ continued loyalty and trust in our products,” said Cheolgi Kim, Executive Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics. “We will continue to pave the path to create the most premium device experiences that go beyond premium picture quality.”

Samsung Electronics has been recognised for its global market leadership and excellence.

Samsung’s leadership in global TV market share for 17 consecutive years is a testament to the company’s commitment to providing innovative products with consumer-centric designs and upgraded user experiences.

Samsung continued to push the boundaries of picture quality and innovation by introducing products with the latest technologies as well. In 2017, Samsung defined the term “next-generation display” by unveiling its first QLED TV, which utilised quantum dot technology. In 2018, the company launched the groundbreaking QLED 8K, followed by the Quantum Mini LED-backed Neo QLED and the self-illuminating MICRO LED in 2021. This collection of innovative technologies redefined the standard for Samsung’s TV picture quality.

Additionally, Samsung has been at the forefront of pioneering new categories such as the Lifestyle series. Starting with the iconic design of The Serif in 2016, Samsung has continued to evolve its product lineup with designs to enhance the user experience through products such as The Frame, The Sero, The Terrace, The Premiere, and The Freestyle.

In 2023, Samsung’s commitment to innovation continues with the development of intuitive technology designed to meet the needs of users. SmartThings will enable seamless integration and connectivity of multiple devices with security remaining a top priority, empowering users to create deeply personalised experiences that accommodate both their unique preferences and needs.

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. today unveiled its new Neo QLED, MICRO LED and Samsung OLED lineups alongside lifestyle products and accessories ahead of CES® 2023. This year’s lineup features advanced, innovative products with a focus on enhanced connectivity and personalised consumer experiences.

Samsung’s wide portfolio of offerings helps users build their own tailored experiences with the devices they use every day, with more intuitive technology than ever before. This year, Samsung takes one step further in its ever-evolving journey to simplify consumers’ everyday lives with seamless multi-device integration across its entire ecosystem through its smart home platform SmartThings.

“In 2023, we are pushing boundaries of innovation to offer consumers more than just premium picture quality, but a holistic, premium device experience tailored to what they need and want out of their connected home,” said Cheolgi Kim, EVP of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics. “With SmartThings, our advanced technology is seamless and intuitive, making life more sustainable, accessible and enjoyable everyday.”

Premium and Connected Experiences with Neo QLED

Samsung’s latest suite of Neo QLED 8K and 4K televisions provide consumers with premium options that suit almost every need. Neo QLED picture quality is powered by Samsung’s advanced Neural Quantum Processor, which supports the Quantum Mini LED-lit TV with 14-bit processing and AI upscaling, enabling features such as Shape Adaptive Light Control and Real Depth Enhancer Pro for a three-dimensional, lifelike picture.

Samsung’s 2023 Neo QLED TVs go beyond just a clear picture, with a high-resolution panel and Samsung’s proprietary algorithm powering Samsung’s new Auto HDR Remastering. It uses AI deep learning technology to analyse and apply real-time High Dynamic Range (HDR) effects on Standard Dynamic Range (SDR) content on a scene-by-scene basis, making SDR content bright and lively for even deeper immersion.

In addition, SmartThings users no longer need to purchase a separate SmartThings dongle to connect and control Zigbee and Thread devices. In 2023, the SmartThings Zigbee & Matter Thread One-Chip Module will be directly built into Samsung products. And for the ultimate connected device experience, SmartThings automatically syncs devices for easier control of not just Samsung devices, but also third-party appliances and IoT devices[1] for seamless connections.

Thanks to its modular nature, MICRO LED is not bound by shape, ratio and size, making it completely customisable to fit a consumer’s desired set up. In addition, it comes without bezels so regardless of configuration, the boundary between screen and real life is seamless.

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. today unveiled its vision for the future, “Together for tomorrow,” during a pre-show keynote event at CES 2022. Keynote speaker Jong-Hee (JH) Han, Vice Chairman, CEO and Head of DX (Device eXperience) Division at Samsung, highlighted the company’s efforts to usher in a new age of togetherness, with customizable experiences that reflect consumers’ evolving lifestyles, and innovations that mark progress for both society and the planet.

The company’s “Together for tomorrow” vision is one that empowers everyone to create positive change and drives collaborations that address some of the planet’s most pressing challenges. The keynote illustrated how Samsung plans to make its vision a reality by introducing a range of sustainability initiatives, purposeful partnerships, and customizable and connected technologies.

“I’m excited for you to be a part of our vision to see how innovation can create positive change, [and] to join us and work together for tomorrow,” said Han. ”These developments will make sustainability part of your product experience, enabling you to live a more sustainable life.”

Building a Sustainable Future

At its core, Samsung’s vision for the future is built on what the company calls “everyday sustainability.” It is a concept that inspires Samsung to put sustainability at the heart of everything it does. The company has been realizing its vision by adopting new, low-impact product manufacturing practices, footprint-reducing packaging and a more sustainable customer experience, and by responsibly disposing of products at the end of their lifecycles.

Samsung’s efforts to reduce carbon emissions throughout the production cycle have also earned recognition from the Carbon Trust, the world’s leading authority on carbon footprint. Last year, the company’s Carbon Trust-certified memory chips helped reduce carbon emissions by nearly 700,000 tons.

Samsung’s efforts in this area extend well beyond semiconductors and include expanding the use of recycled materials. To introduce everyday sustainability to more products, Samsung’s Visual Display Business plans to use 30 times more recycled plastics than it did in 2021. The company also revealed plans to expand its use of recycled materials to include all mobile products and home appliances over the next three years.

In 2021, all of Samsung’s TV boxes included recycled materials. For this year, the company revealed that it will be expanding the use of recycled materials to include the boxes’ interior packaging as well. Now, recycled materials will be incorporated into Styrofoam, box holders and plastic bags. The company also announced the global expansion of its award-winning Eco-Packaging program. The expansion of the program, which transforms cardboard boxes into cat houses, side tables, and other useful furniture items, will include packaging for home appliances such as vacuum cleaners, microwave ovens, air purifiers and more.

Samsung is also building sustainability into the ways that customers experience its products. Such experiences will be integral to empowering people to reduce their carbon footprint and make positive changes together for a better tomorrow. As an example, the company introduced notable enhancements to its first-of-its-kind SolarCell Remote, which eliminates battery waste with a built-in solar panel that can be charged during both day and night.

The enhanced SolarCell Remote gets electricity from radio frequencies in devices like Wi-Fi routers[1]. “What’s more, it will be included in more Samsung products – like new Samsung TVs and home appliances – with the goal of eliminating more than 200 million batteries from landfills[2]. When you line them up, it is the distance from right here, Las Vegas, to Korea,” said Han.

In addition, by 2025, Samsung plans to make all of its TVs and phone chargers operate on near zero standby power, so that the products will consume almost no energy when not being used.

E-waste is another big challenge for the electronics industry, which is why Samsung has collected more than five million tons of e-waste since 2009. For mobile products, last year, Samsung launched Galaxy for the Planet, a sustainability platform that was created to bring about tangible climate action and minimize devices’ environmental footprints throughout their lifecycles.

“These are important steps,” said Han, “but we cannot achieve our goals alone. We believe open innovation and collaboration are keys to fighting climate change and protecting our environment.” With this in mind, Samsung announced that its eco-conscious technologies like the SolarCell Remote will be made open source, so that others can utilize them for their new devices too.

Samsung’s decision to make such technologies openly available reflects a commitment to innovation – and to everyday sustainability – that transcends industries. The collaboration with Patagonia that Samsung announced at the keynote demonstrates the type of innovation that can result when companies – even those from entirely different industries – come together to address environmental issues. The innovative solution that the companies are designing will help fight plastic pollution by enabling Samsung washing machines to minimize microplastics from entering waterways through laundry cycles.

“This is a serious problem, and not one we can solve on our own,” said Vincent Stanley, Director of Philosophy at Patagonia. Commending the hard work and dedication of Samsung engineers, Stanley described the working relationship as “a perfect example of the kind of collaboration we all need to help turn the tide of climate change and restore nature to health.”

“We are thrilled about this collaboration, but our work won’t stop there,” added Han. “We will continue to explore new partnerships and collaborations, aiming to address the challenges facing our planet.”

Empowering Users with Customized Experiences

In addition to describing steps it is taking to advance everyday sustainability, Samsung outlined various ways it is advancing technology to cater to consumers’ diverse needs. Understanding that each person is unique and wants to customize their devices to suit their lifestyle, Samsung strives to find ways to help people redefine their relationships with everyday technologies. This people-first approach to innovation is a key pillar of the company’s “Together for tomorrow” vision.

The platforms and screens that Samsung unveiled at the event reflect the ‘Screens Everywhere, Screens for All’ era that Han alluded to at CES 2020. The Freestyle is a lightweight and portable screen that gives you a cinema-quality experience no matter where you are. Featuring AI-enabled sound, built-in streaming apps and a host of useful Smart TV accessibility features, The Freestyle can be set up virtually anywhere and projects up to 100 inches.

The Samsung Gaming Hub, meanwhile, offers an all-in-one platform for discovering and playing cloud and console games, and is set to launch on the company’s 2022 Smart TVs and monitors. Lastly, The Odyssey Ark is a 55-inch, flexible and curved gaming screen that takes immersion to the next level with a multi-view experience that allows users to play games, video chat with friends, and watch gaming videos at the same time.

To introduce more tailored product experiences to consumers’ homes, Samsung announced the rollout of even more customization options for its Bespoke lineup of home appliances. This includes new Bespoke options for Samsung’s Family Hub and French 3-Door and 4-Door refrigerators, alongside dishwashers, ranges, and over-the-range microwaves. Samsung is also introducing new products like the Bespoke Jet vacuum and Bespoke Washer and Dryer, expanding the lineup to every room in the home to offer consumers more ways to customize their space to suit their style and needs.

Samsung is constantly exploring ways to harness customization to help users get more out of their devices. The #YouMake Project represents the culmination of those efforts empowering consumers to choose and customize products based on what matters most to them, so they can enjoy a more personalized experience across their devices. Announced at the keynote, the initiative expands Samsung’s Bespoke vision beyond home appliances and brings it to life in the company’s smartphones and large-screen devices.

Ushering in an Era of Seamless Connectivity

Building a better future together for tomorrow requires more than building customization and sustainability into the core of Samsung’s products—it also requires seamless connectivity. During the keynote, Samsung demonstrated its commitment to ushering in an era of truly seamless connected experiences by highlighting its collaborations with partners as well as its next-gen products.

Unveiled for the first time at CES, the all-new Samsung Home Hub takes connected home experiences to the next level with a SmartThings service that integrates with AI-connected appliances to simplify home management. Samsung Home Hub combines six SmartThings services into one convenient device that gives users complete control over their smart home and makes it easier to manage household chores.

To enable different types of smart devices to work better with each other, Samsung announced plans to make SmartThings Hub a built-in feature of its 2022 TVs, Smart Monitors and Family Hub refrigerators. Doing so will help make connected living experiences more accessible and seamless for everyone.

Pointing to the need to offer consumers the best smart home experience regardless of brand, Samsung also announced its role as a founding member of the Home Connectivity Alliance (HCA), which brings together various smart home appliance manufacturers. The organization aims to foster greater interoperability between devices across brands to give consumers more choice, and to enhance the security and safety of products and services.

“As a global coalition of smart home appliance manufacturers, HCA members share a belief that connected ecosystems and digital technology will allow us to further develop product experiences that are elegant, hyper-personalized, and truly smart for our consumers,” said Katherine Shin, Vice President of Customer Experience at Trane Technologies. “The HCA invites any global manufacturers with a similar vision for efficiency, interoperability and innovation to come and build with us.”

Samsung’s keynote underlined a deep commitment to corporate social responsibility that continues to characterize its approach to innovation. That commitment is not only realized in the company’s technologies, but also in its dedication towards programs that empower the next generation to bring about the changes they want to see in the world. By nurturing young people’s development and building skills for the workplaces of tomorrow, programs like Solve for Tomorrow and Samsung Innovation Campus are turning dreams into action.

“Today, I’m honored to share that Samsung’s programs to empower the next generation have now reached more than 21 million people since 2012,” said Han. “This is the better tomorrow we all seek: enabling people to reach beyond their dreams, a planet protected so others can experience its wonders, [and] innovation as the spark for change.”

[1] For radio frequency harvesting, a physical proximity of SolarCell Remote to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi router is required.
