Samsung Electronics Australia is returning as a Major Partner to captivate audiences at Vivid Sydney, this time with its world-class experiential activation, ‘Space to Dream’. This stunning experience in Cockle Bay features three iridescent floating dreamscapes, designed to showcase the extraordinary possibilities that arise when individuals are given the freedom to dream.

Visitors to Space to Dream will experience an immersive journey through multiple zones spanning land and water. They will discover how Galaxy AI2 enables new ways to dream and interact with Samsung’s latest devices including the ultra-thin[1], first-ever Galaxy S25 Edge, ahead of its Australian launch.

Research[2] by Samsung reveals that over half of Gen Z (51%) and Millennials (55%) feel they are too busy with daily responsibilities to pursue their dreams. In response, Samsung’s Space to Dream experience aims to inspire Australians to imagine new possibilities and rekindle their aspirations. With almost half (47%) of Australians spending over 10 hours a week on daily chores and responsibilities, Samsung’s Galaxy AI[3] and innovative technologies are designed to help give them their valuable time back by simplifying and enhancing everyday life, creating space for them to dream once more.

The research also shows that 51% of Australians agree that technology can help them manage chores and administrative tasks, allowing more time to pursue personal passions. With the chance to get hands-on at this year’s installation, festivalgoers at Vivid Sydney can try Samsung’s latest Galaxy S25 series and Galaxy AI2 to see how these cutting-edge innovations provide new ways to accomplish tasks, unlock creativity and grant the freedom to focus on what matters to them.

“About half of Australians aged under 55 wish they had more time to explore and pursue their dreams. Space to Dream, inspired by our Galaxy S25 series and Galaxy AI2, is more than just a beautiful display of sound and light. It’s about stepping into a world of possibility,” says Eric Chou, Vice President of Mobile eXperience at Samsung Australia. “We want to encourage Australians to dream, bigger than ever before.”

At the land and bay based activation, guests at Space to Dream will have the opportunity to join the iridescent dreamscape by posing for a dream-like portrait as well as being invited to co-create the installation by taking control of the visuals using a custom app on the Galaxy S25 Ultra.

On land, the Dream Generator invites visitors to immerse themselves in the world of artistic creation and discover how Drawing Assist[4] becomes the perfect canvas to unleash creativity and transform dreams into vision.

Head up onto the Terrace to capture iconic shots of the dreamscape from the best vantage point in the bay. With Nightography[5] on the Galaxy S25 Ultra, details are naturally enhanced, allowing for stunning, high quality photos in low-light conditions.

Explore the dream – walk out onto the water to experience a 7 minute show that imagines what it means to realise your dreams, created in collaboration with Australian talents – Milan Ring & Chloe De Brito.

Award-winning film director and artist Chloe de Brito in collaboration with Collider Studio is responsible for the dazzling visuals of this year’s installation: “Weaving together live action, Galaxy AI2, and a CGI approach, we’ve visualised an impressionistic adventure into the dream state, painted uniquely with colour and light. Together with Samsung, we’re shifting Cockle Bay into a pool of moving neon, inviting Australians into the creation of the show.” says de Brito.

“Shaping the music and sound design for Space to Dream was a deeply immersive process,” says Berlin-based, Australian musician Milan Ring, who composed the ethereal soundscape for the installation. “I hope the audience feels transported into the dream world we created, and I’m excited that the piece will be experienced throughout the duration of Vivid Sydney.”Samsung’s Space to Dream activation marks the brand’s fourth appearance at Vivid Sydney, which has become a must-see for festivalgoers year after year. This year’s immersive installation will be a spectacle like no other, transforming water into art and blurring the lines between reality and illusion.

Vivid Sydney Festival Director Gill Minervini says, “This installation takes Vivid Sydney’s partnership with Samsung to the next level. The scale and beauty of what we have been able to achieve is phenomenal. With Space to Dream surrounded by free music events and light installations in Tumbalong Park, our Darling Harbour festival zone in 2025 will be one visitors cannot miss.”

Samsung returns to Vivid Sydney for the third time with its most immersive experience yet, beautifully blending art, lights and technology to help people share a borderless message of hope, inspired by Galaxy AI

Galaxy AI is a new era of mobile AI which transforms the smartphone experience, focusing on communication, productivity and creativity

The installation will be open to visitors for the duration of the Vivid Festival, from 6pm each night, from 24 May to 15 June in First Fleet Park in the Rocks

Samsung Electronics Australia is proud to unveil ‘Chorus of Light’, a captivating installation, combining technology and artistry, with a focus on uniting humanity through language and shared aspirations for the future, in partnership with Vivid Sydney.

Chorus of Light is inspired by Galaxy AI, which made its debut this year on Samsung’s Galaxy S24 series, and is now available to millions of Australians[1]. Galaxy AI marks a new era in mobile experience, with advanced AI technology allowing consumers greater personalisation by focusing on communication, productivity and creativity. Features including Live Translate[2] and Chat Assist[3] streamline information access, conversation engagement and messaging, with aim of empowering Australians to unleash their creativity and productivity in new ways and enabling barrier-free communication.

An interactive journey, Chorus of Light, will showcase the festival’s theme of ‘Humanity’, inviting visitors to record a personal message of hope for the future in one of the 16 languages available with Galaxy AI. Each attendee’s message will then be live translated and expressed as a dazzling light display in a co-created visual masterpiece by renowned international media artist, Susan Kosti. Beyond demonstrating the innovative power of AI, Samsung’s Chorus of Light will offer visitors the opportunity to capture a brilliant Nightography portrait with a stunning interactive backdrop, as on-site staff using Galaxy S24 Ultra smartphones will be on hand to help festivalgoers capture the ultimate Vivid Sydney memento; one that’s ready-made for social media feeds.

“As the world’s largest light show, millions of visitors come to Vivid Sydney every year for creative and innovative experiences that you won’t find anywhere else,” says Don Farrell, Minister of Trade and Tourism. “Samsung’s Chorus of Light is a spectacular and engaging display that will likely be a crowd favourite, using the latest technology and incredible artistry to invoke shared stories and bring people together.”

Eric Chou, Director Mobile Experience at Samsung Australia says, “‘Chorus of Light’ is more than just an art installation; it’s a collective space for people from all walks of life to come together, break down language barriers and share messages of hope. Inspired by Galaxy AI features like Live Translate and Chat Assist, as well as Nightography, it aims to provide something for everyone, with an immersive, accessible celebration of language, that bridges human connection through the power of technology.”

Inspired by Galaxy AI, which facilitates real-time language translation for seamless communication, the immersive art installation that is Chorus of Light aims to unite humanity through recorded hopes for the future via a three phased journey, which throughout visually expresses the power of the latest technology and innovation from Samsung. The recorded messages will later feature in an original track produced by multi-genre Australian musician and beat maker, Ta-ku, known for his creative and emotion-rich style. The track will be crafted entirely from vocal samples recorded within the Chorus of Light installation and launched on Samsung’s YouTube on 12 June for the world to hear.

The Customer Journey: Visitors to Chorus of Light will be able to decide between two different pathways to experience the activation. The express route offers an elevated Nightography portrait opportunity on the viewing platform as well as the chance to try out Galaxy AI features like 100x AI zoom and Photo Assist. The premium route takes users on the complete journey, including the translated light crescendo moment and a Galaxy AI Chat Assist experience in the exit tunnel.

The Galaxy AI Welcome Tunnel: Visitors entering the installation’s premium route will start at the Galaxy AI welcome tunnel, which beautifully introduces the Chorus of Light concept with light, animations and audio, inspired by the look and feel of Samsung’s One UI.

The Light Portrait Area: Next, they will pass through the light portrait area and into the centre of the exhibit, where they can record their message and have it translated into light.

Chat Assist Exit Tunnel: They’ll finish in the Chat Assist exit tunnel, a visual gallery of tone-shifting text.

At the conclusion of the Chorus of Light, festivalgoers have the opportunity to scan a QR code for a chance to win the ultimate Samsung Galaxy travel pack[4] – allowing the winner to take a trip and try out Galaxy AI across the globe for themselves. The prize pack includes a Galaxy S24 Ultra, Galaxy Buds2 Pro, Galaxy Watch6, and a $5K travel voucher.

Chorus of Light builds on Samsung’s previous two appearances at Vivid Sydney, which were embraced by festivalgoers as must-see attractions. This year’s light installation is set to become Samsung’s most immersive and impressive yet, creating special moments that celebrate humanity through technology and innovation.

Building on the anticipation, Gill Minervini, Festival Director at Destination NSW and Vivid Sydney, commented: “This year’s Vivid Sydney is set to be our most ambitious yet. Samsung’s ‘Chorus of Light’ adds a remarkable dimension to our lineup, combining technology, art, and music in a way that resonates with our vision for an inclusive and creative future. We are thrilled to see how this activation will enhance the experience for all our visitors.”

[1] Certain Galaxy AI Features requires internet connection, Samsung and Google Account. AI Features will be provided free of charge until the end of 2025 on supported Samsung Galaxy devices.
