Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. has announced the launch of the new Less Microfiber Filter, an external washing machine filter which can be used with select Samsung front load washing machines designed to help capture plastic microfibers released during a standard laundry wash cycle.

Convenience Every Day and at Every Stage of the Product Lifecycle

The filter’s blades can help capture microfibers, then redirect and compress these fibers to one side, meaning the filter only needs to be cleaned after approximately every 30 uses and the microfibers can be easily removed. The captured microfibers should be appropriately discarded as general waste and not washed away with water.

By connecting with Samsung’s intelligent connectivity platform SmartThings, the filter can track how full it is from 0 to 100%, alerting users when cleaning or other troubleshooting is required via the SmartThings app[2].

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. announced the showcase of its new premium kitchen and lifestyle range as part of a continued drive for a connected home life at EuroCucina 2024. The event, held in Milan, is one of the largest international kitchen events and takes place from 16th to 21th April at Rho Fiera Milano. Samsung will use the event to display how connectivity among multiple appliances — as well as the innovative features of new built-in products — can change everyday home life.

The Expansion of the Connectivity Across Appliances

The journey at Samsung’s booth starts with the Bespoke AI[2] zone which demonstrates the expansion of the connectivity[3]. It includes the experience of connectivity existing not only in the kitchen, but also in the rest of the home, assisting users’ life to be simple and intuitive, less user input required at home.

The most important part is that the screens enable the appliances to connect with and control other devices, letting users enjoy heightened convenience through the SmartThings ecosystem.

For example, they feature SmartThings 3D Map View, a three-dimensional perspective of the home that locates connected Samsung appliances throughout the house. It streamlines operations such as turning off connected devices and checking their energy usage.

Various scenarios to the real life are ready at the zone as well. In a specific mode like SmartThings Energy Away mode, SmartThings can automatically power off the chosen, specific appliances and devices when users are out of home. Moreover it also introduces energy saving solutions based on SmartThings Energy.

The experience can make users do less while living with more possibilities. Through Calm Onboarding, Samsung lets users’ journey to SmartThings ecosystem more fluent from the beginning.

Samsung Electronics Australia today launches a new range of washing machines and dryers, continuing to help Australians get more out of their laundry appliances while being energy-efficient. Smarter and more control

Building on Samsung’s reliable performance is artificial intelligence, which learns and remembers users’ behavioral patterns to recommend cyclesi and offer a truly personalised laundry experience. With AI Control, the new Samsung washing machine familiarises itself with user preferences to provide automatic suggestion of wash cycles on its display1.

Typically, most people only use 3.7 cycles among 14 wash cyclesii, and the new range is paired with a simple user interface and AI-Pattern which minimises the need for users to scroll through cycles to find the right one, or to input individualised settings each time. This means that users can get to their preferred cycles sooner, making it easier for anyone in the family to do the washing. The AI Wash2 feature uses clever sensors-technology to detect the amount of laundry and level of soiling to determine the optimal amount of water and detergent to dispense with the Smart Auto-Dispenser.

All the appliances in Samsung’s new laundry lineup are compatible with SmartThings3 offering users control over laundry settings from their smartphone and features like Laundry Planner and Laundry Recipe to customise laundry routines. With intelligent location, users can start, stop, and set the optimum wash cycle in and outside the home via

the SmartThings app.

The washers and dryers are perfectly matched, working hand-in-hand to give optimised results meaning there are no additional instructions needed to be set after the wash is complete with the Auto-Cycle Link feature.

Performance in up to half the time

Samsung’s range continues to offer QuickDriveTM technology which reduces the washing time by up to 50%iii whilst saving up to 20% on energy usage and providing great cleaning performance. The independently moving drum and backplate allows for more dynamic actions, cleaning garments thoroughly in less time. The range also includes Samsung’s Digital Inverter Compressor which is designed for energy efficiency by utilising strong magnets for quieter and stronger performance, while using less energy compared to a universal motor.

Hard on dirt, gentle on clothes

Samsung’s steam and hygiene cycles across the washing machine and dryer range are designed to attack germs and can reduce up to 99.99% of certain common bacteriaiv when sanitising both wet and dry clothes.

BubbleWash is designed to generate foam by pre-mixing detergent with air and water from the beginning of the cycle. The optional, pre-wash treatment thoroughly soaks clothes in bubbles before the wash starts to help ensure a thorough clean.

Increased energy efficiency

The new dryer has 9-star energy rated Heat Pump technology which is Samsung’s most efficient yet. Additionally, BubbleWash technology in the washers are capable of activating detergent even in cold water, saving consumers additional energy that may have been used to heat water.

The OptimalDry System is an intelligent drying system which uses moisture sensors to monitor humidity levels and adjust drying time for the best result, while helping to protect clothes from damage. Ultimate convenience
