Demonstratie van 5G-scenario’s uit de echte wereld, ontgrendeld door Samsung Commercial Solutions

Samsung bewijst zijn commercieel leiderschap op het gebied van 5G in meerdere live demonstraties van 5G-toepassingen in de echte wereld:

• 5G NR live demonstratie met Samsung-netwerk en -smartphone, gebruik makend van 3,5GHz en 28GHz banden: een mobile edge cloud game op de eerste 5G-smartphone van het bedrijf zal live worden gedemonstreerd via een verbinding met Samsung’s live 5G-netwerkoplossingen. Daarnaast wordt ook de 5G Multi-user MIMO gedemonstreerd.

• Eerste live 5G-uitzending op MWC19: De eerste live uitzending van GSMA ‘Mobile World Live TV’ zal worden verzorgd via Samsung’s 5G-netwerkoplossingen in Broadcast Village, Gran Via. Er wordt live uitgezonden in de expohal en in 280 hotels in Barcelona voor de duur van de beurs.

• Live demonstratie van 5G-aangedreven technologie voor de industrie: Samsung, Cisco en Orange Spain zullen in de Orange-stand (Hal 3 3K10) diverse 5G-aangedreven usecases demonstreren om aan te tonen hoe de lage latentie en hoge snelheid van 5G-technologie kan worden ingezet voor de industrie.

• Samsung & Zhilabs’ geautomatiseerde 5G-netwerkoplossingen: Samsung zal live op AI gebaseerde 5G-netwerkbeheeroplossingen demonstreren samen met Zhilabs, dat in oktober 2018 door Samsung is overgenomen. Het helpt operatoren om de prestaties van het 5G-netwerk automatisch te optimaliseren.

5G-chipsets van de volgende generatie

Samsung zal ook zijn 5G Radio Frequency (RF) chipsets van de volgende generatie tonen. Zij ondersteunen 28GHz en 39GHz. Dankzij de nieuwe RF chipsets zullen de 5G-basisstations van Samsung ongeveer 25 procent kleiner, lichter en minder energieverslinding zijn dan eerdere versies.

5G-basisstations gebruiken bijna duizend antennes en meerdere Radio Frequency Integrated Circuits (RFIC) om het mmWave-spectrum te kunnen benutten. Met deze chipset van de nieuwe generatie helpt Samsung de prestaties van netwerkapparatuur te verbeteren door middel van lagere geluidsniveaus en betere lineariteitseigenschappen van de RF-versterker.

“Samsung bundelde zijn expertise als een van de vroegste vernieuwers op het gebied van commerciële diensten in 5G – boven en onder de gebruikelijke 6GHz banden. Dankzij dat pionierswerk kunnen we vanaf februari 2019 meer dan 36.000 5G-basisstations verschepen,” aldus Serge Vandriessche, Benelux Director Mobile bij Samsung Electronics Benelux. “Als enige bedrijf ter wereld dat 5G end-to-end oplossingen levert en implementeert in de VS en in Korea, zullen we onze innovatieve inspanning voortzetten en de grenzen van 5G-technologie blijven verleggen.”

Samsung’s aanbod van chips omvat de Exynos Modem 5100, volledig conform de 3GPP 5G NR-norm voor het ondersteunen van nieuwe spectrums, zo ook onder en boven 6GHz voor hogere datasnelheden tot 6Gbps.
