Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. today announced a new 14-meter standard size for its Onyx (ICD model) cinema LED lineup at CinemaCon 2026, expanding the platform into larger premium auditoriums. The new model is designed for Premium Large Format (PLF) theaters and delivers the same picture quality, reliability and scalability that define the Onyx platform at a larger scale.

As cinemas raise the bar on premium, differentiated experiences, larger-format auditoriums are becoming a key priority for exhibitors. Samsung’s new 14-meter format[1] is designed to meet this demand — enabling greater immersion, optimized seating layouts and more efficient use of theater space.

“People go to premium theaters for something they cannot recreate at home,” said Hyoung Jae Kim, Executive Vice President of the Visual Display (VD) Business at Samsung Electronics. “That raises the bar for every part of the auditorium, starting with the screen. Samsung’s new 14-meter Onyx gives exhibitors a way to bring the premium experience to larger auditoriums, helping turn moviegoing into a destination again.”

Expanding Premium Cinema Experiences with Screens Up to 20 Meters

Since its debut in 2017, Samsung Onyx has broadened what cinema LED can deliver with deep blacks, rich color and striking contrast. Following last year’s launch of the 5-meter model for boutique theaters and the 10-meter model for premium auditoriums,[2] Samsung is now expanding the lineup with a 14-meter standard size designed for larger theater environments.

The new model brings the same core Onyx experience — including support for up to 4K 120Hz,[3] exceptional clarity and ultra-smooth motion — while introducing two distinctions tailored to the 14-meter format:

3.3mm pixel pitch: optimized for the 14-meter format to deliver sharp, consistent image quality on a larger screen.

Flexible scaling support: enables the 14-meter format to expand up to 20 meters — more than doubling total screen area without compromising presentation quality. Individual LED cabinets can be added to the sides and bottom to achieve the desired size, creating a seamless, floor-to-ceiling visual experience.

As the world’s first DCI-certified cinema LED display,[4] Onyx supports both scope (2.39:1) and flat (1.85:1) aspect ratios. Samsung’s HDR technology delivers peak brightness of up to 300 nits — approximately six times brighter than conventional cinema standards.[5] Onyx also achieves 100% color volume at peak brightness, while its infinite contrast ratio enables true black levels for deeper immersion and greater detail in dark scenes.

Beyond traditional movie screenings, Onyx is also well-suited for alternative content such as live sports, concerts, gaming events and corporate presentations. Unlike conventional projection-based systems, the Onyx LED screen delivers consistent brightness and image quality regardless of screen size or seating position. Compatibility with Dolby and GDC media servers also helps support streamlined theater management.

Onyx Builds on Global Adoption Across Premium Cinemas

Since launching the latest Onyx lineup (ICD model) last year, Samsung has expanded its presence in premium cinema through growing exhibitor adoption and high-profile installations. One of the latest examples is Pathé Dar Essalam in Rabat, Morocco, where the latest Onyx has been installed as part of a newly developed premium cinema complex in the city’s luxury district.

Designed in collaboration with Pathé’s headquarters, the venue is positioned as a flagship destination comparable to Pathé Palace in Paris, with all four auditoriums equipped with Onyx displays in 10-meter, 5-meter and scaled 6.4-meter configurations. With 12 Onyx screens in total — including four of the latest Onyx screens — Pathé now operates more Onyx screens than any other cinema company in Europe.

Samsung’s momentum with the latest Onyx lineup also extends to the United States. In December 2025, Trilith Cinemas in Fayetteville, Georgia became the first U.S. theater to premiere the latest generation of Samsung Onyx cinema LED screens, installing them across 5 auditoriums. Located in one of the country’s most active production communities, the theater offers audiences a setting that matches the scale, visual detail and creative intent of the production process.

“The future of exhibition is driven by innovations that elevate how audiences experience film,” said Bo Chambliss, President of Georgia Theatre Company. “Partnering with Samsung to bring the latest Onyx Cinema LED to GTC Trilith Cinemas marks a meaningful step forward. With exceptional brightness, contrast, and color accuracy, Onyx sets a new standard for image performance while remaining true to the filmmaker’s intent. Its reliability allows us to deliver a consistently premium experience for our guests – a natural fit for a location so closely connected to the creative community.”

Attendees at CinemaCon 2026 can learn more about Samsung’s latest cinema innovations at Samsung’s booth in Roman Ballroom 1 & 2 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas featuring the latest Onyx cinema LED display, glasses-free 3D Spatial Signage, and a 115-inch digital signage display. Running April 13-16, CinemaCon is the official convention of Cinema United and the motion picture theater industry’s largest annual gathering.

Eight product series in the 2024 lineup are recognized for reduced carbon footprint compared to previous year’s models, expanding the company’s certified portfolio

Samsung aims to achieve “Product Carbon Footprint” and “Product Carbon Reduction” certifications for over 60 models in 2024

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. announced that eight product series[1] in its 2024 Neo QLED 4K and 8K, OLED, and The Frame lineups have received the “Product Carbon Reduction” certification from TÜV Rheinland, the international independent third-party testing, inspection, and certification organization. The certification demonstrates the carbon footprint reduction ratio of these products compared to the previous year’s model, serving as a testament to the company’s efforts to reduce carbon emissions year-over-year.

“As the world’s leading TV manufacturer, it is our responsibility to create products that both redefine TV capabilities while advancing sustainability efforts,” said Yongjae Kim, Executive Vice President of the Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics.

“Congratulations to Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. The issuance of Product Carbon Reduction certification demonstrates Samsung’s commitment to environmental sustainability and its actual implementation efforts to reduce carbon emissions and combat climate change,” said Frank Holzmann, Global Vice President of TÜV Rheinland Business Field Electrical, “This recognition will undoubtedly enhance the brand’s reputation and customer trust, further solidifying its position as a leading player in the global electronics market.”

TÜV Rheinland evaluated greenhouse gas emissions for Samsung’s TV products throughout their life cycle- “from Cradle to Grave” – ranging from manufacturing, transportation, use to disposal, in accordance with the internationally recognized standards such as ISO 14067 and ISO 14064-4 as well as TÜV Rheinland’s self-developed standard 2 PfG Q2880/09.23. It verifies and certifies that all of eight TV product series meet the carbon reduction standard requirement set by TÜV Rheinland. The newly certified products include two Neo QLED 8K series, three Neo QLED 4K series, two OLED series and one series of The Frame.

In addition to product certification, Samsung’s Visual Display Business obtained the display and consumer electronics industry’s first “Product Carbon Footprint Calculation Method” certification from TÜV Rheinland. This certification measures and manages greenhouse gas emissions throughout the complete life cycle of a product, collecting and analyzing data in accordance with management regulations and stipulated execution manuals to calculate greenhouse gas emissions and ensure transparent and reproducible results.

As Samsung continues its work to reduce the environmental impact of its products, it aims to achieve TÜV Rheinland’s “Product Carbon Footprint” and “Product Carbon Reduction” certifications for over 60 models in 2024, including newly introduced soundbars. With these eight product series’ carbon reduction result and analysis report, Samsung has more confidence and clear direction in the development and design of the next generation decarbonized TV product.

This recognition builds on previous acknowledgements of Samsung’s sustainability efforts. It obtained its first “Reducing CO2” certification from the Carbon Trust in 2021 for Neo QLED 4K and higher resolution TVs. In 2022, 11 TV models and five monitor and signage products achieved the ‘Reducing CO2’ certification, and most recently, 24 models across Samsung’s 2023 lineup were certified by the Carbon Trust and TÜV Rheinland.

Samsung uses event to demonstrate upcoming hyperconnectivity for business-centric displays as well as new Google EDLA-certified ‘WAD’ interactive display

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. today at Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) 2024 in Barcelona is showcasing how SmartThings will bolster its B2B displays to shape the future of business connectivity. Samsung’s “SmartThings for Business” exhibition emphasizes the new advancements that the innovative internet-of-things (IoT) platform will offer, as well as Samsung’s commitment to providing more connected, easy-to-control digital signage across industries.

“In a commercial display sector where operational efficiency is key, Samsung digital signage is leveraging SmartThings to deliver next-gen connectivity and features to organizations of all sizes,” said SW Yong, President and Head of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics. “This further expansion of the SmartThings ecosystem will serve to elevate experiences for customers and partners from a wide variety of industries.”

How Businesses Can Leverage Connected Tech Through SmartThings – From the Smart Store to Smart Office

At the event, Samsung is showcasing how SmartThings enables business owners to leverage their digital signage to connect and gain more control of their smart devices across various landscapes. By offering the SmartThings connectivity feature to commercial display products such as Smart Signage and Hotel TVs, users can experience the convenience of hyper-connectivity in their business environments. These changes will include Samsung smart devices, as well as other devices that support the industry’s latest IoT specifications, Matter and the Home Connectivity Alliance (HCA).

Through the application of SmartThings to various business environments, Samsung contributes to the more efficient management of space and energy by transforming places of business into interconnected smart spaces. These connectivity improvements have been designed to benefit all types of business customers, from small and mid-sized business owners to enterprises. Examples of the smart spaces — including a smart store, smart office and smart hotel — are on display at Samsung’s booth at ISE 2024.

With the Routines feature, users can set the optimal lighting, temperature, humidity, and air quality in advance, and easily maintain them over time with automated space management. For instance, a smart store can automatically turn the power supply on and off to align menu boards and lighting with operating hours.

Plus, SmartThings AI Energy Mode helps business owners monitor energy usage through efficient asset management and advanced monitoring, such as turning off connected devices or dimming the lights during the day depending on power usage, occupancy and time.

To cater to diverse B2B customer needs, Samsung has expanded the SmartThings Enterprise API[1] for business owners. By leveraging this API, customers can easily connect SmartThings to their own management system and create a customized solution optimized for different scenarios or dashboards with the information they want. The customizable device ecosystem ensures seamless connectivity across a wide range of devices and enhances system reliability. A separate application for installers also makes the installation process easy, paying attention to the unique needs of B2B customers with different device owners.

In the case of a hotel or a conference room, where the device owner and the user may be different, the device owner can generate a web URL to share SmartThings features with the end users. This way, hotel guests and conference room users can easily enjoy the SmartThings experience without having to install an extra app. The device owner can also specify the use of authorization and duration of the connected device when generating a web URL.

Marking a significant step forward in connected technology for businesses, SmartThings for Business is set to be globally available during the first half of 2024. The platform will open new possibilities for efficient, smart management of various smart devices across all industries, offering tailored and intelligent device management solutions that cater to the unique needs of diverse business environments.

During ISE, Samsung is also announcing its first Google Enterprise Devices Licensing Agreement (EDLA)-certified[2] interactive display (model name: WAD) expected to launch in the first half of 2024. Powered by Android 13, the WAD series — available in 65-, 75-, and 86-inch models — provides a seamless and intuitive learning experience for both teachers and students alike.

The WAD series offers an interactive classroom experience with a suite of educational tools. It provides access to numerous educational apps through Google Play, while also allowing access to various Google services, such as Google Classroom and Google Drive. The interactive display has the look and feel of a large tablet with a familiar and intuitive user interface (UI).

“We are thrilled to bring more Android EDLA-certified devices through our partnership with Samsung Electronics, expanding Android’s reach beyond consumers to schools and businesses,” said Scott Porter, Managing Director, Android Chrome Enterprise Partnerships at Google. “We look forward to a continued partnership with Samsung to provide innovative display solutions for classrooms and beyond.”

Additionally, Device Management Solution (DMS) offers remote monitoring and control of classroom displays, even when unforeseen circumstances arise, to enhance convenience in educational settings. With Advanced Messaging, the displays can send important messages to each other. Urgent communications can also be displayed on interactive whiteboards, so students and other personnel are alerted in real time.

The WAD series has been designed with learning optimization as a key priority. It offers a natural writing experience with infrared (IR) touch and supports up to 40 simultaneous touchpoints. The slim design lets educators move the device more conveniently, and features such as Multi Window mode allows them to manage multiple windows within the interface. There is also a 3-in-1 USB-C port that simplifies connectivity and allows connected devices to be charged at up to 65W, plus an HDMI output that enables easy content sharing. For improved convenience, the series also comes with a front stereo speaker, penholder and handle.

Partnering With Cisco, Unveiling 105” 5K Smart Signage Optimized for Hybrid Work Experience

Samsung today also announced an expanded partnership alongside Cisco to deliver enhanced collaboration experiences for hybrid workers. As part of this new partnership, Samsung unveiled its new 105-inch, 21:9 Smart Signage QPD-5K model that is compatible with Cisco Room Kit EQ, which is certified for Microsoft Teams.

Samsung’s newly released 105” QPD-5K model comes with 5K[3] resolution and a 21:9 aspect ratio. It provides an intuitive, yet natural video conferencing experience ideal for hybrid workspaces. The QPD-5K is compatible with the Cisco Room Bar and Room Kit Series, creating an efficient meeting environment by integrating camera, audio and all other capabilities required for video conferencing.

“We’ve entered a new era in which hybrid work is an integral part of the work experience. Employees simply must be able to have full functionality while working online,” said Hoon Chung, Executive Vice President of the Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics. “Our partnership with Cisco provides users with an accessible work environment, and at the center of that is our 105-inch QPD-5K display that gives users the feeling they are sitting in the same room as their colleagues.”

When connecting video conferencing devices certified for Microsoft Teams, such as Cisco’s RoomOS-powered systems[4], the QPD-5K model’s 21:9 aspect ratio optimizes Front Row experience, an inclusive meeting layout for Microsoft Teams Rooms. It ensures that all participants, whether joining remotely or in person, feel equally present and engaged in the discussion.

“In today’s era of hybrid work, it is essential that workspaces are reimagined to enable great collaboration. This means outfitting conference rooms with intelligent video systems designed to bring immersive collaboration experiences to all participants, regardless of their location,” said Jeetu Patel, EVP and General Manager, Security & Collaboration, Cisco. “Through our partnership with these industry leaders, we’re delivering something we call Distance Zero, eliminating second-class experiences no matter where you are working.”

Providing a panoramic view, the QPD-5K display offers a hyper-realistic and immersive visual experience in control rooms and classrooms, as well as in meeting rooms. It supports multiple windows to display more information and runs on Tizen OS for optimized performance of web services.

Users can also take advantage of a dual-screen video conferencing experience by connecting two Samsung 4K UHD Smart Signage series displays with Cisco’s newest solution, Cisco Room Kit EQX. This feature is available with QHC, QMC and QBC models ranging in size from 65 to 75 inches. Overall, the partnership with Cisco delivers a new standard for fully scalable, manageable and secure solutions for every meeting space in the office of the future.

Amid the rising cost of living across Canada, businesses feel the crunch in a myriad of ways, including through labour shortages. In an effort to address some of these challenges, businesses have been using technologies like self-service kiosks and other digital displays, including Samsung Canada’s popular Business TV and All-in-One Kiosk.

The Samsung Business TV allows businesses to elevate their customers’ experience by giving them the ability to personalize and develop their own customized marketing tools. This TV offers vibrant and eye-catching digital displays and features over 100 pre-loaded templates for users to create their own content. With promotions that display alongside TV programs, motion-embedded solutions, seasonal sales, and other pre-designed layouts, the Samsung Business TV allows businesses to create professional visuals, as well as upload their own creations for a customized experience.

Plus, with Tizen Zero Config remote management, businesses with multiple Business TV units in different locations can register and install new apps remotely via Tizen Business Manager, saving both time and money. The Samsung Business TV is also equipped with security capabilities, allowing businesses to lock their TV with a pin-code system to prevent unauthorized users from tampering with the screen.

As businesses head into the busy holiday season, staffing can become increasingly difficult for many small- and medium-sized businesses. The Samsung All-in-One Kiosk can help businesses who are otherwise short-staffed to serve customers.

The All-in-One Kiosk is available in two operating systems options—Tizen and Windows. It supports enhanced compatibility with third-party devices via USB ports, and also has a modular design which provides a variety of payment options including credit card, barcode, QR code and NFC, along with a built-in printer. This allows businesses to efficiently integrate their technology, without requiring additional peripherals.

When businesses are understaffed or in a busy season, it’s easy for employees to forget to promote the latest limited-time offers or new product offerings. The Kiosk can suggest add-ons or related items based on a business owner’s configurations. It can also encourage consumers to join a store loyalty program with the click of a button.

As the business landscape continues to evolve, so does the need for proficient tech solutions. Samsung is well-equipped to outfit small- and medium-sized businesses in Canada with some of the latest tools for increasing efficiencies and customizing the tools they need to meet the demands of today’s market.

Canada’s premium fashion and lifestyle retailer partnered with Samsung Canada for a custom solution to replace its legacy façade and ‘wow’ customers at the door.

Holt Renfrew, a premium fashion and lifestyle retailer, recently partnered with Samsung Canada on the design of a staggering new digital façade at its Yorkdale Shopping Centre location. This fresh digital signage solution, housed within one of Toronto’s top shopping destinations, makes for a stunning new entryway to welcome customers into the retail space.

With uninterrupted floor-to-ceiling digital displays that reach 28 feet, Holt Renfrew can easily showcase its latest seasonal offerings with crystal-clear precision, static visuals and engaging videos that stand out from the crowded retail experience.

“The importance of designing an exciting in-store shopping experience that encourages customers to engage with a brand has become mission critical for a number of our partners,” said James Arndt, Head of the Enterprise Business Division at Samsung Electronics Canada. “Working with the team at Holt Renfrew, we designed a custom digital display solution that delivers a memorable shopping moment for visitors.”

Challenged by a degrading digital display made up of three individual strips of LED screens on both sides of the entryway, Holt Renfrew Yorkdale chose to partner with Samsung Canada as a trusted brand in digital signage. The solution, integrated by Technology Solutions International (TSI) and constructed and installed by GAV MNGT, transformed the former façade into a sprawling and seamless two-part digital display that flanks the entrance. Set against the elegant and modern architecture of the store, the large-scale displays seamlessly commands shopper attention.

Holt Renfrew chose the IEA series LED displays from Samsung due to the product’s versatility. The cost-efficient price point allows the displays to be custom fit for a space, with a larger and lighter screen that cuts down on installation costs. In addition, LED HDR delivers true-to-life picture presentation, which ensures colours retain their accuracy and hue even at peak brightness settings or in dimly lit indoor environments. Stunning picture quality and custom-fit capabilities make the Samsung IEA series LED displays an ideal choice for today’s modern retailer.

As display technology continues to advance, retailers with outdated signage may want to consider how they choose to captivate their audience and meet the needs of their business. Showcasing in eye-catching colour the brand’s mission or the latest information on sales and loyalty programs can help retain your base and attract new customers. With the latest display technology from Samsung reimagining the customer experience, innovation and the future of retail go hand in hand.

Samsung Electronics announced that it is displaying a masterpiece by Park Seo-Bo, a leading figure in contemporary Korean art, on The Wall All-in-One (IAB model) at New York’s iconic Rockefeller Center.

As part of the ‘Origin, Emergence, Return’ exhibition, Samsung has partnered with Johyun Gallery, combining the artistic brilliance of Park Seo-Bo with Samsung’s state-of-the-art Micro LED technology to bring an unrivaled viewing experience that pushes the boundaries of digital art display. Visitors can appreciate the art from Park’s iconic ‘Écriture’ series on The Wall’s immersive 146-inch 4K screen. The Wall All-in-One provides an awe-inspiring visual experience that replicates the intense colours and intricate textures of Park’s painting, allowing visitors to be fully immersed in the artwork.

This collaboration also marks the first digital rendition[1] of Park’s artwork. Utilizing microphotography, the original artwork was captured in 56 segments in an ultra-high resolution and is shown by slowly zooming out from a magnified coin-sized area of the artwork. In this process, the work is imbued with movement and the complex texture of Écriture created with paint and traditional handmade Korean paper, Hanji, is fully brought to life, the entirety of which was perfectly captured by The Wall’s captivating display.

“I wanted to highlight the intricate universe of the original artwork by adding a dynamic component into every corner of the painting,” said Park. “The Wall’s digital display masterfully renders the nuanced texture of Hanji and the fluctuating red hues under sunlight, revealing details that could have been easily overlooked with the naked eye.”

Samsung’s The Wall All-in-One is powered by advanced Micro LED technology and has won numerous awards, including ‘2023 Best of Show’ at both Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) 2023 and InfoComm 2023, the world’s leading AV and systems integration exhibitions.

With its convenient installation process of using a pre-adjusted seam, it enables effortless customization to create the perfect ambiance for the displayed content, saving businesses time and resources. Plus, thanks to a sleek and slim design, it seamlessly fits into any commercial environment, making it the preferred choice for businesses looking to elevate their displays.

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. today announced the global launch of the KMC-W, an updated Windows version of the Samsung Kiosk, winner of an ISE Best of Show award from AV Technology at Integrated Systems Europe 2023. The new version of the Kiosk features an interactive 24-inch display that brings expanded software compatibility to advanced self-service display technology for the food and beverage, retail, travel and healthcare industries.

The convenience of contactless technology has become critical for businesses to meet consumer demand across various industries and applications, including bill payments, drive-thru, self-ordering, smart cafés, and unmanned fitting rooms.

“The retail landscape is changing based on consumer behaviors and rising demand for contactless and non-cash payment methods,” said Hoon Chung, Executive Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics. “As this trend accelerates not just in retail but also in the food and beverage, healthcare, travel, and other sectors, the Samsung Kiosk is the future-ready solution industries need to respond to global demand.”

Powerful Performance, Versatile Applications

Built on the Windows 10 IoT Enterprise operating system (OS), the KMC-W expands the Samsung Kiosk’s OS compatibility to meet the needs of customers in various business environments. Powered by the 11th Gen Intel Core Processor,[1] it offers high performance computing power and full compatibility with major ordering, point-of-sale, and property management system software. Accordingly, the display comes equipped with various CPU options — including a choice of Intel Celeron 6305E, Core i3 or Core i5 processors — as well as fast 8GB DRAM memory and a 256GB SSD for greater storage capacity.

“It’s great to see the launch of the new KMC-W, which leverages the 11th Gen Intel Core Processor Enterprise Edition and the powerful Windows 10 IoT Enterprise OS to expand customer choices,” said Analisa Roberts, General Manager, Global Device Partners at Microsoft. “With 8GB of DRAM and a 256GB SSD, it provides ultra-fast processing and ample storage space to meet evolving industry demands.”

Offering more interfaces for third-party peripherals, the KMC-W supports a wide range of use cases across industries. Its extensive integration capabilities enable it to meet the needs of a wide range of businesses, from hotels and airports to convenience stores, restaurants, and pharmacies. Businesses can tailor their Kiosks for various scenarios, including using them as ID/passport scanners, external cameras, payment terminals, and vending machines.

The KMC-W’s compact design and flexible features make it suitable for virtually any business environment. Its flexible installation options, which enable it to be affixed to a countertop, wall mount,[2] or a stand that can be positioned anywhere to seamlessly blend in with its surroundings, allow businesses to save time, cost, and space without the need for additional construction.

Enabling More Personalized Customer Experiences Around the World

The Samsung Kiosk Tizen version, launched in 2021, allows businesses and retailers around the world to optimize the customer journey. With the new Samsung Kiosk Windows version, retails can enjoy the business advantages of the Kiosk display whether they use Tizen or Windows OS.

In the Philippines, fast food chain KFC currently uses Samsung Kiosks on Windows OS at 63 locations. The Kiosks create an in-store digital experience for KFC customers, enabling them to self-serve and enjoy a more personalized and convenient visit. To continue enhancing its customer experience, the company will install Kiosks at more than 100 additional stores by the end of the year.

French company LAPEYRE, which manufactures and sells equipment for home kitchens, bathrooms, doors, and windows, has installed Samsung Kiosks operating on Windows OS throughout its stores. As a growing franchise with 126 locations in France and 25 new stores set to open across the country by 2025, the company has partnered with Samsung to digitalize services to boost business and attract new customers. The rollout includes 100 Kiosks to display queue status, 70 Kiosks to support fast self-ordering, and 300 Kiosks for consumers to browse the company’s product catalog and customize their product using configurators on the kiosks, generating more sales and enhancing the customer experience.

In addition, made-to-order restaurant company Duck Donuts Powered by GRUBBRR is currently utilizing Samsung Kiosks based on the Tizen OS. The company’s rollout enhanced the purchase experience at 30 of its stores across the U.S., improving customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. With personalized ordering and easy-to-read menus, Duck Donuts was able to strengthen its customer relationships and drive revenue.

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. today announced that Atlantis The Royal, a new resort from Kerzner International on Palm Jumeirah in Dubai, has been outfitted with its industry-leading displays, including The Wall, as well as Samsung Smart Signage displays both indoors and outdoors. Following the 2023 grand opening of what has been dubbed one of the world’s top resorts, guests can now experience a new era of luxury complemented by Samsung’s latest technology.

“At Atlantis The Royal, every detail has been considered to truly elevate the guest experience and fully equip our colleagues. Samsung has been an instrumental technology partner from construction to opening,” said Anthony Lynsdale, Vice President Information Technology, Atlantis Dubai. “We are confident in both the quality and reliability of Samsung’s technology and team of experts to help us create and maintain an unparalleled hotel experience.”

Cutting-edge Technology Lights Up Every Space for All-around Luxury

Atlantis The Royal is the first hotel in the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) region to install Samsung’s innovative modular Micro LED display, The Wall, on its property. Measuring 146 inches with 4K (3,840 x 2,160) resolution, The Wall enhances the hotel’s most luxurious guest suite, the Royal Mansion, with a one-of-a-kind, personal viewing experience unmatched by other displays. The slim, sleek finish of The Wall’s Infinity Design blends in naturally with the suite’s refined elegance.

Throughout the property, various types of Samsung Smart Signage have been installed to entertain guests and provide unique customer experiences in each space.

In the hotel’s awe-inspiring lobby, Samsung Smart LED Signages have been installed on three large water tanks that draw visitors’ attention at first glance with the largest screen measuring 6m x 8.5m. Samsung installed the hanging-type signage between the tanks and the walls to project incredible scenes, including fish swimming in the sea.

The hotel’s spa and gym feature impressive displays with Samsung Smart LED Signage from the company’s IER series, which leverage LED HDR technology for crystal clear picture presentation. Built to accommodate various installation space requirements, these flexible signage displays allowed the team at Atlantis The Royal to provide an immersive viewing experience in the spa and gym areas.

By the outdoor infinity pool, the ceviche bar features Samsung Outdoor LED signage that displays information clearly, even under direct sunlight, to entertain and communicate effectively with guests. The outdoor IP65 validated design protects it from dust and water and ensures continuous operation in any conditions.

Samsung Smart Signage has also been installed in restaurants and meeting rooms to enhance guests’ comfort and communication while boosting staff efficiency. Guests of Atlantis The Royal will be treated like royalty thanks to the 957 Samsung hospitality displays that have been installed in the hotel’s 795 rooms to provide the ultimate personalized viewing experience.

“We are privileged to work with Atlantis The Royal and provide guests with a new level of luxury unlike anything they’ve experienced before,” said Doohee Lee, Vice President and Head of Samsung Gulf Electronics. “The combination of Samsung’s innovative display technology and Atlantis’ creativity and luxury expertise is leading the hospitality industry in exciting new directions.”

From The Wall’s awe-inspiring picture quality in the Royal Mansion to the smart signage installed throughout the property, Samsung’s displays work within the resort’s unique environment to empower staff and transform the guest experience. Through its collaboration with Atlantis The Royal, Samsung Electronics is helping to define the future of hospitality technology.

The world around us is rapidly changing. After a challenging couple of years, the way people engage and interact with each other has evolved, which influences their attitudes and behaviour. As part of this change, today’s guests have increased expectations, which now include enhanced experiences that are enabled by seamless digital connectivity.

A personalized hotel experience is important to guests, so increased pressure is being placed on those working within the hospitality industry to explore and invest in digital technologies that will meet guests’ enhanced expectations.

To help support the efforts of hotels and deliver value on their digital investments, Samsung Canada offers an array of digital display solutions. Such solutions ensure efficient, high-end connectivity that allows hotels to deliver impeccable service and communication from check-in to checkout and beyond, driving and enhancing guest loyalty. Whether it’s outdoor digital signage that captures guests’ attention or in-suite digital tools that keep guests both informed and entertained, Samsung’s innovative digital solutions support the incredible guest experiences that hotels strive to provide to their guests.

Making a Big Impression with Impactful Digital Signage

It’s no secret the guest experience begins as soon as patrons enter the hotel lobby. To help create an immediate impression that guests will remember, Samsung’s LED displays are an incredibly powerful visual tool. The Wall, for instance, allows hotels to showcase welcome messages for event attendees, or wayfinding information for private functions. And, when the screen isn’t being used to deliver specific messaging, it can be leveraged to display captivating scenes of the city, its landmarks, landscapes, or other local highlights.

Checking-In Made Easier

A growing trend among some travellers today is their increasing desire for a discrete and private check-in experience. Samsung enables this experience with its interactive, self-service Kiosk, which provides guests with the ability to check-in or select upgrades. The Kiosk boasts a compact, space-saving design, advanced security, and easy management and maintenance for reliable performance.

Delivering a Premium In-Suite Experience

For most travellers, a comfortable and seamless in-suite experience is one of the most important aspects of their stay. Samsung’s new generation in-room hospitality TVs with QLED display technology for deeper contrast and exceptional brightness featuring Samsung’s new content management system, LYNK Cloud, provide a gateway to hotel information, services, and activities. It’s a way for hotels to provide a new level of interactivity for their guests, which includes opportunities and access to new experiences in a personalized manner, allowing guests to order room service, view menus and check out easily and conveniently.

Digital Concierge Stations

Digital touch screen displays can also be used to provide guests with real-time information regarding local restaurants, sporting and entertainment events as well as airport and airline updates. Serving a similar function as a mobile device, a digital concierge station helps fulfil guests’ search needs while encouraging essential personalized engagement with the hotel.

Augmented Signage for Additional Revenue

Elevators can also be outfitted with Samsung digital displays to provide guests with news, weather, directions to hotel amenities, or special information specific to the hotel. For example, a digital display can promote the hotel’s restaurant, café, bar and gift shop by displaying timely deals, menu boards, upsell opportunities and special promo offers, generating additional revenue for the hotel.

Outdoor Signage

With the latest fully integrated and contained outdoor signage technology that can withstand different weather elements, hotels can reach potential guests with messages promoting different services and offerings like free Wi-Fi, complimentary breakfast, parking, discounted nightly rates, or seasonal partnerships with local restaurants. This provides hotels with yet another way to increase revenue.

In an ever-changing world and continuously evolving hospitality landscape, hotels are always exploring new ways to “wow” their guests and provide them with an exceptional experience during their travels. Through its innovative digital display technology, Samsung is helping the industry achieve that goal.
