The national survey found that nearly 9 in 10 respondents (89%) say it would be helpful if appliances could reduce the time spent on chores, highlighting a clear shift toward technology that simplifies daily life. Tasks once considered routine are now major sources of friction. Laundry continues to be a key pain point, with 43% of respondents saying it takes too much time and one in three (32%) delaying plans to get it done. Meanwhile, 64% say cooking requires too much guesswork, and nearly all respondents (97%) admit they regularly throw away food, often due to busy schedules or losing track of expiry dates.

“The reality is that Canadians are spending a significant amount of time managing their homes, and those small moments add up quickly,” said Scott Brown, Head of Division, Home Appliances, Samsung Electronics Canada. “What we are seeing is a clear shift toward solutions that take work off people’s plates, appliances that simplify routines, reduce guesswork and ultimately give people more time back in their day.”

To help address this challenge, Samsung is introducing its Bespoke AI appliance lineup in Canada, designed to reduce the time, effort and mental load required to manage a modern home through intelligent, AI-powered automation.

Samsung’s Bespoke AI lineup is designed to move beyond traditional appliances and act as an intelligent home companion. Powered by advanced AI capabilities, these appliances can automatically adapt to user habits, optimize performance and reduce the need for constant monitoring, helping take the guesswork out of everyday tasks.

These experiences are brought together through SmartThings, Samsung’s connected platform that enables users to monitor and control their appliances from anywhere, creating a more seamless and responsive home environment.

Across the home, this translates into meaningful time savings and less day-to-day friction. Samsung’s all-in-one Bespoke AI washer and dryer, for example, eliminates the need to transfer clothes between machines, removing an entire step from the process, while completing a full wash and dry cycle in as little as 98 minutes. At the same time, AI-powered features can help reduce food waste and simplify meal preparation by minimizing guesswork and helping users better manage what they have on hand.

The research also shows that most Canadians are increasingly looking for appliances that require less effort and oversight. Three-quarters (75%) of respondents say they want laundry systems that require less monitoring, while more than half (56%) say the ability to control appliances from their phone would make chores easier. Interest is particularly strong among younger Canadians and families, who report higher levels of chore-related stress and greater openness to automation.

At the same time, concerns around cost and sustainability are shaping expectations at home. Nearly three-quarters (72%) of Canadians are concerned about rising energy costs, and 75% say they would pay more for energy-efficient appliances—reinforcing demand for solutions that are not only convenient, but also help optimize energy use.

Together, these findings signal a broader shift in how Canadians view the role of the home, from a place that requires constant management to one that works more intelligently in the background. With its Bespoke AI lineup, Samsung is helping redefine the home as a connected, responsive environment that reduces everyday friction and gives people more time back in their day.

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. today announced the upcoming launch of the 2026 Bespoke AI Laundry Combo,[1] an upgrade to its all-in-one laundry solution that has helped create a more comfortable lifestyle at home by eliminating the need to transfer laundry between separate machines.

Following the product’s unveiling at CES in January, Samsung is now sharing full launch details — including an upgraded AI cycle, enhanced drying performance and a more advanced voice experience — to highlight the 2026 model’s improvements.

Upgraded AI Wash & Dry + Enables More Precise, Automatic Optimization

At the core of the all-in-one experience, the 2026 model integrates AI Wash & Dry +,[2] upgrading the intelligence that supports smart optimization of washing and drying. Using enhanced sensing and AI-based analysis, AI Wash & Dry + uses multiple sensors to optimize performance for each load. It detects weight to determine the right amount of water and detergent, identifies five fabric types for smaller laundry loads[3] — including Outdoor and Denim — and monitors soil levels in real time to adjust the cycle for better results with less manual input.

Added Flexibility With Expanded Drying Capacity

The 2026 Bespoke AI Laundry Combo launches with upgrades designed to enhance drying performance and help users handle larger loads with more flexibility. The booster heat exchanger in the heat pump enhances its efficiency, allowing the combo to support up to a 20kg load of drying. It also helps finish Super Speed cycle in 92 minutes,[4] giving greater convenience for households.

The upgraded combo also features Auto Open Door+,[5] which both automatically opens the door and activates internal air circulation[6] after wash-only cycles to help prevent laundry left in the drum from developing a musty odor.

A More Advanced Bixby Brings Natural, Conversational Control to the Home

Samsung is also bringing a more advanced Bixby[7] experience to the 2026 Bespoke AI Laundry Combo. Bixby enables users to monitor and control connected Samsung devices directly from a single appliance,[8] making it easier to handle everyday routines across the home. While loading laundry, a user could say, “Start the robot vacuum in the living room” or “Turn on the air purifier,” without needing to unlock their phone or leave the laundry area.

Now, with improved understanding capabilities, Bixby goes beyond fixed commands to understand natural, conversational requests. For example, users can simply say, “Can you wash this before 11 p.m.?” or “Start a normal wash, but add an extra rinse,” and Bixby will understand and carry out the request.

Availability

To meet different regional needs and broaden consumer choice, Samsung will roll out the 2026 Bespoke AI Laundry Combo with lineup options that vary by market. In select regions, Samsung will also introduce more affordable model options,[9] expanding availability across price segments while maintaining the core all-in-one convenience. As such, the 2026 Bespoke AI Laundry Combo will roll out in select markets throughout 2026.

Dacor’s premium appliances also support SmartThings connectivity, enabling users to manage key functions through their connected ecosystem.

Bespoke AI: Smart, Connected, and Reliable Kitchen Innovation

Also on display at KBIS is the Bespoke AI Refrigerator Family Hub, which features innovative  AI Vision[2]  and  powered by advanced camera-based recognition technology. This allows users to effortlessly check the contents of their refrigerator and efficiently manage ingredient lists. Previously, the system could recognize up to 37 types of fresh food and 50 types of pre-registered processed food directly on-device[3]. Samsung plans to enhance this feature to overcome existing limitations, enabling recognition of an even greater variety of food items.

A diverse range of Bespoke AI products — including dishwashers, ovens and laundry appliances — are also on display for KBIS visitors to experience. Connected control through SmartThings2 is a key differentiator of these products, as it allows users to conveniently monitor devices from their smartphones.  The seamless harmony among these kitchen appliances is further enhanced by Bixby[4] voice control. For example, a user can stand in front of the refrigerator and ask, “Hi Bixby, can you recommend a recipe based on my ingredients list?” Then, it offers recipes and guided cooking instructions.[5]

Since reliability is a major factor in making a connected ecosystem strong and stable, Samsung has dedicated a part of its exhibit to its commitment to assuring the quality of Bespoke AI products and services that are available to consumers after purchase . At the entrance to the exhibition, connected AI appliances offered a glimpse of how intelligent connectivity can support everyday life at home. The Bespoke AI Refrigerator Family Hub, a CES Innovation Awards 2026 honoree, displayed Now Brief — a personalized overview of schedules and activity information — on its screen. FoodNote recapped food intake patterns and recommended recipes to help users make more informed grocery decisions.

Bespoke AI Jet Bot Steam Ultra robot vacuum cleaners assessed their surroundings using built-in cameras before starting to clean, while users asked Bixby questions and received immediate, conversational responses. The experience highlighted how appliances that see, listen and suggest are transforming the way household tasks are managed.

AI-Enriched Kitchens: Intelligence at the Heart of Food

In the AI Kitchen zone, Samsung showcased a range of home appliances including the Bespoke AI Refrigerator Family Hub, Bespoke Double Wall Oven, Bespoke AI 3-Door AutoView French Door Refrigerator and the Bespoke AI Wine Cellar. The lineup delivered a differentiated food experience powered by enhanced AI Vision, with Google Gemini integrated into the Bespoke AI Refrigerator Family Hub — the first such integration in a home appliance.

Visitors saw how AI Vision in the Bespoke AI Refrigerator Family Hub recognizes a wider range of food items as ingredients are added to or removed from the refrigerator.

Building on this capability, an improved AI Food Manager supports ingredient management and grocery planning, recommends recipes, and analyzes refrigerator usage to generate reports that help users use food more efficiently.

Visitors tested how the refrigerator’s built-in camera  out AI Vision functions by placing ingredients and removing them from the refrigerator, demonstrating how AI Vison works. They were also invited to open and close refrigerator doors using the hands-free voice command feature, Auto Door.

For wine storage, the SmartThings-based AI Wine Manager recognized wine bottle labels, updated storage locations in real time and tracked detailed information such as the wine’s name, category, grape variety and vintage.

Samsung’s advanced AI Hybrid Cooling technology drew visitors’ attention, as the world’s first system to detect appliance usage conditions while adjusting cooling methods in real time. Built on a dual-power structure combining an AI Inverter Compressor and a Peltier element, the system operates each power source separately or together as needed — reducing energy consumption while maximizing cooling efficiency.

AI-Optimized Homecare: Intelligent Cleaning for Everyday Living

The Home Companion concept extends into garment care and cleaning too. From washing and drying to everyday cleaning, appliances assess conditions independently and operate accordingly, helping to reduce the daily burden of household chores.

The Bespoke AI Laundry Combo features an additional booster heat exchanger alongside the main heat exchanger, improving dehumidification by up to 15% and supporting a maximum drying capacity of 20 kilograms while helping prevent overheating.

AI Wash+ detects load weight, fabric type and soil level to automatically adjust water and detergent levels, wash intensity, and drying temperature and time. AI VRT+ uses AI to analyze floor types and reduce washing machine vibration, helping create a quieter laundry environment.

“I really find doing laundry bothersome. The Bespoke AI Combo seems like it would make the process much simpler, which would be extremely helpful,” said David Watkins, an industry analyst from France. “I think the biggest advantage of achieving zero housework is the time it saves.”

Garment care is further enhanced through seamless device connectivity. When a specialized cycle — such as a blouse cycle — is selected on the Bespoke AI Combo, the same setting is automatically synchronized with the Bespoke AI AirDresser for a smooth transition from washing to post-laundry care.

In addition, the wrinkle-focused care function uses powerful airflow and high-temperature steam to remove wrinkles in a short amount of time.

The cleaning lineup impressed visitors with its enhanced performance. Samsung showcased its cordless stick vacuums, including the Bespoke AI Jet Ultra which offers the world’s strongest suction power as well as the recently released Jet Fit, its lightest model to date.

The Bespoke AI Jet Bot Steam Ultra uses AI object and liquid recognition to intelligently identify furniture, cables and even colored or clear liquids — cleaning or avoiding them based on user settings. The EasyPass Wheel allows the robot vacuum to navigate door thresholds and mats up to 60 millimeters with ease, while side brushes and a mopping pad clean along corners and walls.

Powered by up to 10 watts of suction power and a Qualcomm Dragonwing AI chipset, the vacuum removes dust and debris from floors, washes mop pads at high temperatures and sanitizes them with 100 degrees Celsius steam — helping to reduce odors and maintain a cleaner, more hygienic home environment.

“I have three dogs, and hair gets everywhere,” said Vanessa Katherina Morales Gurrero, a digital content creator from Panama. “The robot vacuum will be my best friend.”

Durability and Reliability: Built to Last

For home appliances to serve as long-term companions, performance must be matched by durability. Over the past 50 years, Samsung has improved the design of key components — producing more than half a billion compressors and motors — to boost efficiency and durability while extending product lifespan.

Software support is equally robust. With up to seven years of software updates, users benefit from new features as well as ongoing improvements in device connectivity, security and the user interface. Samsung introduced Home Appliances Remote Management (HRC) in 2017 to allow users to update and manage their appliances. Visitors were introduced to the new AI version that can actively monitor performance and usage, recommending preventative measures before they come up.

Designed around the vision of freedom from household chores, Samsung’s Home Companion zone showcased how AI-powered capabilities and camera-, screen- and voice-based form factors are expanding the role of home appliances in everyday life. Samsung looks ahead to a future shaped by appliances that truly see, listen and suggest.

Led by Cheolgi Kim, Head of the DA Business, the session laid out how Samsung’s Bespoke AI appliances are seamlessly connected through SmartThings to evolve them from mere devices into “Home Companions.”

These devices are equipped with Bixby voice recognition technology, screens, and cameras that allow them to see, hear and understand to proactively respond to users. This makes them capable of intelligently adapting to users’ daily lives. At the same time, intelligent adaptation extends beyond home appliances to TVs and mobile devices to build a broader AI ecosystem in which devices can fulfil the role of a true Home Companion.

“Samsung’s ultimate goal is to enable a better living through Bespoke AI,” said Cheolgi Kim. “Through our extensive ecosystem that connects devices across DX products – including mobile phones and TV – and our appliaces’ unique form factors, we are providing differentiated experiences to our consumers and creating more value through those experiences.”

Regional Strategies Powering Global Growth

Also during the session, JS Moon, Head of R&D at the DA Business, highlighted how Samsung is tailoring its 2026 appliance portfolio to meet regional market needs. In North America, innovative form factors like the Bespoke AI Laundry Combo continued to drive strong growth. In addition to the AI lineup, new kitchen packages featuring unified stainless-steel designs are expected to satisfy local preferences in 2026.

In Europe, energy efficiency remains a top priority. Samsung has introduced highly efficient appliances, including the Bespoke AI washer, which is up to 65% more energy efficient than energy efficiency class A minimum requirements in Europe,[1] advanced HVAC solutions and built-in kitchen products designed to meet stringent sustainability expectations.

Latin America continues to see strong momentum led by laundry and air conditioning solutions, while rising interest in smart home ecosystems and localized AI features like regional language support and expanded AI Energy Mode represent a major growth opportunity in Asia.

“At Samsung, we aim to deliver meaningful AI experiences that are deeply aligned with local lifestyles and needs,” said EVP Moon. “As such, we will keep enhancing these regional features and expand core AI features such as AI Energy Mode to a wider range of price points and product types beyond premium lineups.”

Expanding the Role of AI in Everyday Life

Looking ahead, Samsung reaffirmed its commitment to expanding beyond traditional appliances into areas such as HVAC, modular homes, insurance-based care extending the value of AI, and connectivity in new aspects of daily life. By combining open collaboration, regional customization and long-term software support, Samsung aims to reduce household burdens and deliver AI experiences that feel practical, trusted and deeply aligned with how people live.

Care Companion Zone: A Safer, Healthier Everyday Life

In the Care Companion zone, visitors saw how the latest Galaxy form factors — including the new Galaxy Z TriFold — connect mobile and wearable devices with home appliances to serve as a central hub for AI-powered living.

The area demonstrated how Samsung Health is continuing to improve sleep environments by controlling air conditioners, air purifiers, lighting and sensors. A brain health training program for users concerned with cognitive health was also showcased. Other features of the health platform include analyzing health metrics through connected devices to help identify potential signs of chronic conditions, as well as exercise and sleep coaching and recipe recommendations based on ingredients in connected refrigerators.

Samsung further highlighted its Care Companion approach through a Pet Care system that helps identify potential health issues in companion animals and Home Care services, such as SmartThings Safe, that can request emergency assistance in critical situations.

“What impressed me was how everything is connected,” said Maxence Fleury, a digital content creator from Los Angeles. “The exhibition clearly showed how the ecosystem is expanding and the impact it is having.”

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. today convened leaders across industries in to discuss the importance of smart home interoperability in the first of its Tech Forum panels at CES 2026 at The Wynn in Las Vegas, Nevada. In the session, titled “When Everything Clicks: How Open Ecosystems Deliver Impactful AI,” experts discussed how cross-industry partnerships are transforming connected homes into intelligent environments that feel seamless, safe and genuinely supportive of people’s lives.

Openness as the Foundation of Home AI

The panelists agreed that the next era of home intelligence must be built on open collaboration, not closed ecosystems. As homes increasingly rely on devices and services from many brands and industries, openness enables AI systems to work together in ways that create real-world impact. Samsung shared its belief that open connectivity allows appliances, energy systems, safety services and partners across industries to deliver experiences that would be impossible in siloed environments.

“Home is the most personal place in our lives, so home AI must earn trust — quietly, respectfully, and with value users can feel,” said Yoonho Choi, President & Chair of the Board of the Home Connectivity Alliance and Head of Strategic Alliances at Samsung Electronics. “That requires interoperability across brands, so the home works as one system instead of disconnected features. Samsung highlighted the scale and depth of its connected ecosystem, noting that more than 500 million users are already part of the SmartThings community. This foundation allows Samsung to design AI experiences that coordinate across appliances and services, delivering value that feels natural rather than technical.

Throughout the discussion, the panelists emphasized that for home AI to succeed, it must feel emotionally intelligent and fit naturally into routines including cooking, relaxing, entertaining and caring for families. Together, the panelists agreed that the future of home AI depends on interoperability, responsible data use and collaboration across industries, ensuring intelligent homes deliver real value without compromising trust.
