Samsung Electronics Canada today announced upcoming Samsung Galaxy Studio experiences launching in Montreal and Toronto to highlight the unique creative capabilities of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4. The experiences will take place at MURAL Festival in Montreal starting June 9, 2023, and the Samsung Experience Store in the CF Toronto Eaton Centre on June 16, 2023. Both Samsung Galaxy Studio experiences aim to inspire Canadians to explore their creativity supported by the latest Samsung Galaxy technology.

The Samsung Galaxy Studio experiences are part of the wider Flex Your Design campaign, which invites participants from across Canada to showcase their personal style by submitting case designs for the Galaxy Z Flip4. • Digital Graffiti experience: Galaxy Z Flip4 will transform into a can of virtual spray paint guests can use to design their own graffiti tag or artist logo upon large, digital canvases displayed in the space.

The Artist Studio, Print Shop, Photo Studio and Digital Graffiti experiences will empower guests to flex their creativity, inspired by storytelling and personal expression possibilities on the Galaxy Z Flip4.

From June 9-11 and 16-18, 2023, the Samsung Galaxy Studio experience will be open to MURAL Festival attendees in the historic heart of Saint-Laurent Boulevard, just past the intersection at Prince-Arthur & St-Laurent from 11AM to 11PM on a first come, first served basis.

On June 16, the Samsung Galaxy Studio experience will be open at the Samsung Experience Store in the CF Toronto Eaton Centre from 10AM to 9PM on a first come first served basis.

My name is Renée and I recently had the opportunity to put my Samsung Galaxy Watch5 and the Samsung Health app to the ultimate test at a pop-up Zumba class at Goodlife Fitness.

I’ve been using my Galaxy Watch Active2 for a few years now and although it’s been a very handy accessory for my day-to-day life (i.e., tracking my heart rate[1], reminding me to stand up, seamlessly sending through my phone notifications, etc.), I was impressed with all the new features on the latest Samsung Galaxy Watch5.

Apart from keeping me on track with my everyday needs like notifying me about upcoming events, the weather and the influx of emails, texts and social media DMs, the Galaxy Watch5 now features an array of intuitive tools to help smartly track my overall wellness.

​​With my Galaxy Watch5 and the Samsung Health App[2] on my Galaxy Z Flip4, I’m able to see detailed insights related to my sleep[3], blood pressure[4] and ECG[5] levels and more. One of my favourite features is the new Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA) sensor which measures your body composition in terms of fat and skeletal muscle mass[6] – this is a super helpful way to keep an eye on progress related to your overall fitness goals. It’s also been so wonderful to be able to track other aspects of my health like my menstrual cycle[7] and the number of glasses of water I drink each day. The Galaxy Watch5 may be small but it’s no doubt a mighty companion to have on the go.

But back to the event: I was able to enter Goodlife Fitness with such ease, thanks to the Samsung Wallet app on my Galaxy Watch5. Besides my credit cards, I’m also able to store important membership cards including Goodlife Fitness. And because I can seamlessly access it on my watch, I didn’t need to fish out my wallet or from the bottom of my tote bag to beep myself in.

On every Galaxy Watch5 there is Auto Workout Tracking, which features up to 90 types of exercises.  Aside from popular activities like walking, running and swimming (yes, you can even use it in water[8]!), the Galaxy Watch5 also can track specific (and sometimes more complex activities) like Pilates, golfing and rock climbing – you name it!

Since I was attending a Zumba class (a personal favourite activity of mine), I swiped to the Dancing workout prior to the warm-up to track the total duration, calories burned and my heart rate[9] post-workout, which can easily be reviewed in real time on my Galaxy Watch5.

It was quite the workout to say the least! Even though it was a shorter class than my usual Zumba classes, my heart rate jumped quite a bit, which I was easily able to check with a simple swipe to the Heart Rate[10] feature on the watch. This told me I was working hard and making strides towards improving my overall cardio-fitness.

If you’re looking to reach new wellness goals, or just stay on top of your day-to-day it really is so nice to have the Galaxy Watch5 every step of the way. I don’t know what I’d do without it!

Samsung Electronics today unveiled One UI 5 Watch[1] that will be available as part of Galaxy Watch series later this year. The new software is designed to bring an even more personalized and intuitive welness experience and includes enhancements that support better sleep as well as various fitness features.

Better Sleep: Essential to Better Wellness

Samsung has focused its efforts on three key elements for better sleep: understanding personal sleep patterns, building better habits, and establishing a sleep-friendly environment. One UI 5 Watch delivers on these elements with an even more complete sleep experience.

The new Sleep Insights UI prominently displays the user’s sleep score to provide a clearer snapshot of the prior night’s rest, followed by related metrics like sleep phases, snoring hours and blood oxygen levels. In addition, Sleep Coaching — tailored around eight different sleep types[2] — also becomes fully accessible directly on Galaxy Watch as well as a paired phone, making for a more convenient and motivational way for users to track their habits at their convenience.  

Creating a comfortable environment can make all the difference in sleep quality and even small distractions can have significant impacts. That’s why Samsung has made it easier to connect Galaxy Watch to a wide range of compatible devices. Once the user’s Galaxy Watch detects that they have fallen asleep, SmartThings lets the user switch off their connected devices to create a more conducive environment for rest. Sleep Mode swiftly mutes notifications and dims the user’s phone and watch screens and One UI 5 Watch builds on this feature by utilizing an infrared sensor rather than a green LED light to further minimize distractions. 

A Smarter Fitness Partner

Personalized Heart Rate Zone has been added to Galaxy Watch’s various tailored running tools — including real-time running analysis and a customized interval training program. This new feature analyzes individual physical capabilities[3] and sets five optimal workout intensity levels (warm-up, fat burn, cardio, hard-training and max. effort). This enables users to set their own goals based on their ability, from burning fat to high-impact cardio.

Outdoor activity enthusiasts can look forward to additional benefits with Galaxy Watch Pro starting with an expanded Route Workout—which now supports running and walking alongside previously available hiking and cycling route options. Galaxy Watch Pro users can also search and access the GPX File Database directly via the Samsung Health app and receive recommendations on new routes based on inputs like location, time, rating or popularity[4]. 

Updates to the SOS feature enable direct communication to an emergency telephone number to relay information on the wearer’s location[5].

One UI 5 Watch will be available first on the upcoming Galaxy Watch series later this year, with further updates to be announced soon.

 Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. will showcase its latest products and services, including the Galaxy S23 Ultra and Galaxy Book3 Ultra at Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, Spain from February 27 to March 2, 2023. Samsung’s latest innovations are setting a new standard for premium mobile experiences that are further enhanced by its ecosystem of products and services. At MWC 2023, Samsung is showcasing how the Galaxy S23 series embodies its commitment to industry-leading innovation, with epic content-capturing and creating experiences and a more eco-conscious design.

The Galaxy S23 series’ advanced camera system gives users more freedom to explore their creativity, allowing them to capture truly cinematic photos and videos. Visitors to the booth can test out the Galaxy S23 Ultra’s all-new camera features, including Nightography capabilities in a low-light, 200MP Adaptive Pixel sensor[1] for photos with incredible details, as well as advanced portrait photos with an AI Stereo Depth Map. The Galaxy S23 series offers the fastest and most powerful performance ever in Galaxy to gamers and creators[2]. Visitors can play racing games at the booth and experience the Galaxy S23 Ultra’s powerful gaming performance.

At the core of Samsung Galaxy Ultra innovation is the connected experience with the expanded Galaxy ecosystem. Visitors can explore seamless phone to PC connected features with the all-new Galaxy Book3 Ultra, which offers fast and frictionless movement across multiple devices, screens and operating systems. MWC attendees can also discover the best of Samsung’s services with demos for sleep coaching with Samsung Health on the Galaxy Watch5, Samsung Wallet and connecting and controlling home devices with SmartThings. They can also explore privacy features and the endless customization options available on Galaxy devices with One UI 5.1.

All the Galaxy S23 series’ new standard-setting innovations are housed within a striking design that advances Samsung’s sustainability commitment. The Galaxy S23 series incorporates recycled materials in more device components than in any other previous Galaxy smartphone[3] and is built to last with durability and reparability, making it dependable for years to come. At the booth, attendees can learn about Samsung’s new commitment to its concept of “Everyday Sustainability” and check out an immersive art installation composed of multiple generations of upcycled S series devices.

Samsung Integrations Across MWC In Collaboration with Partners

Samsung believes in open collaboration and working with industry leading partners to create the best experiences for its customers. Thanks to this approach, visitors will be able to find Samsung at various partner booths throughout this year’s MWC. Attendees can visit the Android Avenue (between Hall2 and Hall3) to learn about the eco-conscious materials used in the Galaxy S23 series, customize the sound notifications on the latest Galaxy smartphones, and even snap some selfies right from the Galaxy Watch5 on exhibit. Samsung will also be part of Qualcomm’s booth (Hall3, 3E10) where visitors can check out the leading performance of the Galaxy S23 Ultra, featuring the brand-new Snapdragon^® 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform for Galaxy. The Samsung Display Booth (Hall 2, 2K40) will demonstrate the durability of Samsung’s Ultra Thin Glass (UTG) used on Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold4. Visitors can also experience first-hand the clear and vivid Dynamic AMOLED 2X Display used on the Galaxy Book3 series.

To celebrate the launch of its latest products, Samsung will be on full display with advertisements for the Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy Book3 series and Galaxy family of devices in marquee locations at Fira Barcelona Gran Via including the mega billboard, main entrance, and exterior flag poles and hanging banners.

Samsung Electronics and Natural Cycles announced a partnership to bring advanced temperature-based menstrual cycle tracking capabilities to the Galaxy Watch5 Series – the first time Natural Cycles’ ground-breaking algorithm has been adapted for a smartwatch. This latest partnership combines Samsung’s innovative sensor technology with Natural Cycles’ innovative fertility technology[1] to give users more detailed insight into their menstrual cycle[2].

Samsung is entering the next era of digital wellness monitoring with its’ advanced sensor technology, including the groundbreaking BioActive Sensor. Furthermore, the new infrared temperature sensor enables users to get a more detailed overview by tracking skin temperature changes as well as their menstrual cycle. The temperature sensor uses infrared technology for more accurate readings, even if there is a temperature change in their surroundings or they move while sleeping. With all data encrypted and stored on the user’s device itself, it give users more control of their wellness data and better peace of mind.

Samsung Electronics today announced new software updates to Galaxy Buds2 Pro and Galaxy Watch series, elevating content-capturing for Galaxy users. The Samsung Galaxy smartphones have long been offering innovative photography and videography experiences, helping users create, capture, and share their best moments. Now, when paired with the latest wearable devices, the already-powerful Galaxy camera is further strengthened with 360 Audio Recording, a unique feature that brings immersive sound to video content. In addition, an upgrade to the Camera Controller makes zooming in and out remotely easier. These software updates reflect Samsung’s continuous commitment to providing the most up-to-date experiences to existing devices.

360 Audio Recording: Capture the World as You Hear it

The new 360 Audio Recording feature[1] empowers users to capture sound on video, precisely as they hear it. By pairing Galaxy Buds2 Pro with a Galaxy smartphone, everyone can film like a pro and capture high-quality, realistic audio for video without the need for bulky professional equipment. The feature picks up 360-degree sound using a microphone in each earbud, placing viewers at the centre of a roaring festival crowd or beside a babbling brook in the middle of a forest. Users can pop in connected headphones and playback the video on their device or social media channel to hear lifelike and immersive sounds that emulate an in-person experience.

360 Audio Recording is the first feature in the Galaxy line leveraging LE Audio, an advanced new Bluetooth audio standard. This new technology brings better audio quality as well as improved latency and battery life. Beyond providing better-sounding music, LE Audio also broadens the spectrum of audio experiences to deliver more complex and rich sound that can be shared with others. Now, LE Audio brings binaural recording to Galaxy Buds2 Pro – taking advantage of both the left and right mics at the same time. When Buds2 Pro are paired with a Galaxy Z Flip4 or Fold4, users are drawn into the moment, benefitting from high-quality stereo audio as well as high-quality video.

Camera Controller: Frame the Perfect Shot Right from Your Wrist

Photography and videography with Galaxy smartphones are about maintaining creative control in any situation. One example is the Galaxy Watch’s Camera Controller app, which enables users to control their phone camera right from their wrist. A new update – soon to be available on the Galaxy Watch5 and Watch4 series – adds zoom capabilities to Camera Controller[2], further expanding the Galaxy camera experience with Galaxy smartphone and Galaxy Watch connectivity. Now users can remotely control their phone’s camera zoom with a simple pinch of the watch face or a turn of the rotating bezel – ideal for taking group shots or solo selfies from a distance and eliminating the need to run back and forth to the camera to frame the perfect picture.

Availability

The new 360 Audio Recording feature will be progressively released on Galaxy Buds2 Pro and Galaxy Z Flip4 and Z Fold4 via software updates starting soon1. The updated Camera Controller feature will be available on the Galaxy Watch5, Watch5 Pro, Watch4 and Watch4 Classic beginning February 2023. These new wearable features are expected to provide more powerful synergies with the new Galaxy camera capabilities – offering new and innovative experiences[3].
