Audio Eraser[1] on Galaxy devices reduces unnecessary noise in videos and amplifies desired sounds, enabling a more immersive viewing experience. First

Audio Eraser[1] on Galaxy devices reduces unnecessary noise in videos and amplifies desired sounds, enabling a more immersive viewing experience. First introduced for editing saved content on the Galaxy S25 series, the feature has evolved significantly over the generations. Audio Eraser expanded to support playback adjustments within native apps — such as Gallery and Voice Recorder — on Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Flip7.

Now, with the Galaxy S26 series,[2] it has reached new heights by supporting real-time audio control on content streamed across various platforms. In this article, we’ll dive deeper into these advancements.

From Fix it Later to Filter it Now

Starting with the Galaxy S26 series, Audio Eraser has evolved into a live audio experience. It enables real-time sound separation and optimization across voices, music and background noise, not only for recorded content but also for over-the-top (OTT) or social media content you are watching. This advancement shifts the focus from post-recording edits to real-time audio management.

By integrating an AI sound engine with advanced sound separation technology, the Galaxy S26 series allows you to instantly adjust and control sound as it occurs. This ensures a clear, immersive listening experience across various streaming platforms, helping to neutralize distracting background noise.

The video below shows how the Galaxy S26 series keeps the sounds you want to hear clear, even in noisy environments.

▲Comparison of interview audio before and after using Audio Eraser on the Galaxy S26 series.

Seamless Access, Total Control

You can easily adjust noise and reduce distractions directly from the Quick panel without needing to rewind or replay content. While the video is playing, simply swipe down from the top right of the screen and tap the Audio Eraser icon to start filtering the sound right away.

Once activated, the feature offers advanced controls for a more professional touch. You can adjust the “Strength” slider to fine-tune noise reduction and enable “Voice Focus” to hear crystal-clear dialogue in the video.

With the Galaxy S26 series, you can enjoy tailored sound quality in real-time, regardless of the content you’re watching.

When Jacob Kiplimo storms past the finish line, he’s not just running on talent — he’s running on data. The Ugandan long-distance star and Team Galaxy athlete trains with Galaxy Watch8, which turns complex biometric data into valuable insights that shape his winning strategy.

This powerful combination of technology and talent has already reaped rewards. After securing a dominant win at the 2025 Chicago Marathon and shattering the half-marathon world record this March in Lisbon, the 25-year-old is now targeting success at the 2026 London Marathon.

To mark World Health Day (WHD) 2026 on April 7, Samsung asked him to detail his data-driven training regime which embodies this year’s WHD slogan, “Together for health. Stand with science.”

With exclusive access to his Samsung Health metrics, we take an inside look into his grueling training program which has seen him cover over 100 km in just one week. Discover how insights led him to adjust his training for optimal recovery and how even a “rest day” can include a 3 km run.

Screenshots from Jacob Kiplimo’s Samsung Health app show his varied training routine, including light jogs and long-distance runs

Congratulations on your recent world record at the 2026 Lisbon Half Marathon. What’s the secret to your success?

There’s no secret. It’s just about discipline. You have to work hard, be extremely focused, and manage your energy — knowing when to rest and when to push harder. But honestly, the most important part is that you have to really want what you’re working toward. I wouldn’t have broken the world record if I didn’t follow that formula.

You finished second at the 2025 London Marathon and are now preparing to go one step further at this year’s event. What role has your Galaxy Watch8 played in your training?

My coach doesn’t live in Uganda, so my Galaxy Watch8 has basically become his personal assistant here. Even though he’s not with me, he can. I use the Running Coach feature[1] in Samsung Health to get real-time analysis and reports on my running form through the Running Analysis feature in Samsung Health. We track my heart rate and pay close attention to my pace for each kilometer. During the harder sessions, I also monitor the asymmetry readings to see if I’m overcompensating on one side so I can avoid strain. Contact time is another key aspect I keep an eye on, making small adjustments to my form to ensure every stride is as efficient as possible. I always try to improve my running economy, so these insights are incredibly helpful.

Looking at your recent Samsung Health data, we can see some clear patterns in your training routine. Tell us about your regime.

Consistency is key, but athletes must not be obsessed with training. What many people don’t realize is that rest is equally as important as physical training. To compete at your best, you need to be able to maximize your energy, and the only way to do that is through consistent rest. But “rest” doesn’t always mean no training. A rest day can mean running 3 km instead of 40 km. You have to be consistent in what you’re doing, but you also need to listen to your body and know when to slow down. Technology can help a lot with this.

Jacob Kiplimo’s Samsung Health data from March 13–19 reveals how he ramps up his training routine throughout the week

Can you give us an example of how a specific insight from the Samsung Health app led you to adapt your training program?

The decision to run 3 km instead of 40 km that I just mentioned was a true story. After experiencing some lingering soreness during a recent 24 km run, I decided to turn what was intended to be a 40 km run into a light 3 km jog to ensure I could recover and have the stamina to get through 40 km another day. The Samsung Health app was very helpful for me here. It kept me informed so I could allow my body to fully recover and prevent a potential injury or burnout.

Recovery is just as important as training. How do you use your Galaxy Watch8 to help you recover?

Sleep is the most important part of recovery. I use the sleep tracking feature[2] on my watch every night to monitor my sleep. I can see how much deep sleep and REM sleep I am getting, and it gives me a Sleep Score in the morning. If I have a bad night’s sleep, I know I need to take it easier in training the next day. I also use the Bedtime Guidance[3] feature to ensure I’m going to sleep at the best time for me and wake up feeling refreshed. This data helps me make sure I am fully recovered and ready for my next run.

We’ve seen how a professional runner like yourself uses data to reach their goals. What advice would you give to someone who is just starting their running journey, and how can the Running Coach feature get them on the right track?

For beginners, it is very important to ease into things and be patient. You will build up stamina over time; it’s about knowing when to push yourself and when to stop. Not everyone has a personal coach with them to tailor a training plan. But the Running Coach feature provides customized programs to help even beginners train for a marathon. It tells you exactly what you should be doing during a run, motivates you, and helps you improve. New runners are fortunate to have this fantastic technology which can guide them every step of the way. It’s also great for more experienced runners looking to take on a full marathon as it provides structured training programs.

On World Health Day, the message is “Together for health, stand with science.” How does this relate to your own philosophy?

Science helps me throughout my training. I don’t know where I would be without the ability to track data on my Galaxy Watch8. I use that science to shape my daily routine. Science and technology help me to perform at my best, and I believe it can do the same for anyone.

Jacob Kiplimo training for the London Marathon with his Galaxy Watch8

The little tasks can add up quickly. Planning a trip with friends often means juggling multiple apps —checking your Calendar to avoid clashes, booking a car to the airport, reopening Notes to review the places you want to visit, keeping track of receipts, and staying up late to edit your photos until they’re ready to post.

Galaxy AI[1] on the Galaxy S26 series is designed to make those moments easier. By proactively working on your behalf, it cuts down on the steps needed, helping you get things done. It’s support that shows up at the right moment, so you can stay focused on the task at hand instead of bouncing between apps and managing every input.

What are the key Galaxy AI features on Galaxy S26 series?

On the Galaxy S26 series, Galaxy AI shows up across the tasks people deal with every day — making it simpler to plan, create, organize, share, and more. From context-aware suggestions that keep conversations moving to intuitive tools that help refine and organize visual content, Galaxy AI helps you stay in the flow.

Now Nudge[2] adapts to what’s on your screen and what’s already on your device to proactively suggest helpful actions at just the right time. Texting a friend about plans for a night out? When a date comes up in the chat, Galaxy S26 recognizes it, shows what’s already on your calendar for that day, and offers to add the event, all without switching apps.

And when someone asks for photos from your trip to New York[3], Now Nudge can automatically suggest relevant images from the Gallery, so you can share in seconds instead of searching through albums. It can even pull up saved info across your device, like a list of cool bars you jotted down in Samsung Notes. No need to dig through the relevant apps, Galaxy S26 takes care of the extra steps for you.

For step-by-step instructions on how to experience these Galaxy AI features, watch here.

Galaxy S26 can take care of multi-step tasks behind the scenes, making everyday moments feel easier. Through natural interactions, Google Gemini can search and complete complex actions seamlessly across apps. If you’re running late to meet friends, simply long-press the side button and ask Gemini[4] to order a taxi to your destination — it will open the app and prepare the ride for you to approve. It offers an early look at what agentic AI can do, completing routine tasks in the background so you can offload the busywork.

Galaxy cameras have always made it easy to capture fantastic photos. With Galaxy S26, the upgraded Photo Assist and Creative Studio make editing and customizing content just as seamless.

Photo Assist[5] now supports natural language editing, allowing you to make edits by simply saying what you want to change, without technical terms, specialized tools, or editing expertise. Maybe you’re framing the perfect dinner shot, but your friend takes a bite before the photo happens. Ask to restore the missing bite, and Photo Assist fills it back in. Or if a landscape photo looks great but you want a moodier feel, ask to shift the scene from day to night. You can review changes as you go and jump back to any earlier stage whenever you want, making the process even easier.

Accessible from the Edge Panel, Creative Studio[6] brings your ideas to life in one simple space, turning a sketch, photo, or prompt into polished visuals — like funny stickers for a group chat, or a wallpaper that reflects your style. Once you generate a result, you can keep editing or share it right away without switching tools, so your creative rhythm stays uninterrupted.

https://img.global.news.samsung.com/ca/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/004-galaxy-s26ultra-lifestyle-cr.mp4

Galaxy AI also helps you stay organized and handle everyday documents with less hassle. Got paperwork that can’t wait? Document Scan is built right into the Camera app. Imagine you’re at a doctor’s office and a form needs to be filled out by a family member — you can scan it and send them a clean digital copy instantly. Galaxy S26 recognizes the document, removes distortions and distractions such as creases or even a finger in the corner. If there are multiple pages, they can be combined automatically into a single PDF, just like that.

Galaxy AI on the Galaxy S26 series is built to handle the little steps that chip away at your time throughout the day. By reducing the effort behind everyday tasks, it makes each interaction feel more intuitive. The result is a phone that adapts to you and works with you — so you can spend less time managing the process and more time enjoying the moment.

The Victory Selfie transformed medal celebrations through athletes’ self-captured images shared around the world, quickly becoming an iconic cultural moment across the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Now, it’s reached a new milestone as it returned to the Paralympic Winter Games.

For the first time at the Paralympic Games, the Victory Selfie expanded beyond individual and pair events to all events – including team competitions. Through the Victory Selfie, every medal-winning athlete has the opportunity to share their individual or team triumph from their own perspective. All Victory Selfies were shot with the Galaxy Z Flip7 Olympic Edition[1].

Victory Selfie represents how the Paralympic Games continue to evolve – honouring tradition while embracing new ways to enhance athlete and fan experiences during the Paralympic Games.

The Victory Selfie reinforces a simple belief: athletes should be able to tell their own stories.

Samsung Galaxy is the device of choice for creators of all kinds looking to shoot eye-catching, professional-grade content — and with Galaxy S26 Ultra that experience is getting even better.

Samsung developed its Advanced Professional Video (APV) codec in collaboration with Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. as an open standard for professional video creation so the technology could be available to as many users as possible. It took years of close collaboration between the two companies to make APV a reality on the Snapdragon® 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform for Galaxy[1] chipset that powers Galaxy S26 Ultra. APV is the latest example of Samsung’s commitment to put the user experience first by collaborating with other industry leaders.

What is Samsung’s Advanced Professional Video (APV) Codec on Galaxy S26 Ultra?

Galaxy S26 Ultra is the first Galaxy device to support APV, enabling high-quality video files that use your device storage more efficiently. For anyone who wants pro-level quality with the convenience and portability of shooting video on mobile, APV on Galaxy S26 Ultra is a game changer.

How does APV Work?

APV makes for easy editing and creative flexibility. Now you can capture video content on your Galaxy device that behaves like cinematic professional camera footage when it’s time to edit — maintaining video quality even after repeated edits. Supporting up to 8K resolution at 30 frames per second!

How to Enable APV on Galaxy S26 Ultra

Now you see it, now you don’t. This isn’t some magic trick; you should be in control of what people see on your device. With the industry’s first built-in Privacy Display[1] on Galaxy S26 Ultra, you can decide when you want a clear view from all angles and when you want extra protection from prying eyes.

What is Privacy Display?

Privacy Display on Galaxy S26 Ultra is a new kind of personal protection which is built into the device and allows you to adjust the visibility of content on your screen. When enabled, visuals are clear for the user while limiting what others can see when looking at the screen from the side — perfect when you’re traveling or in other public places.

Unlike some aftermarket stick-on privacy screen covers, the Privacy Display on Galaxy S26 Ultra offers protection without compromising the viewing experience during everyday use.

How does Privacy Display work?

Integrated directly into the display hardware, Privacy Display on Galaxy S26 Ultra controls how the screen’s pixels disperse light, limiting the visibility from side angles when turned on, while preserving the full display experience from any direction when it’s off. This hardware-first approach delivers a clearer and more consistent experience than a traditional privacy screen protector which permanently reduces brightness and clarity and can degrade touch responsiveness.

It’s also customizable. You can decide when it turns on, like when entering sensitive password information, or even limit visibility for specific types of content like popup notifications — it all comes down to your personal preference.

How to Use Privacy Display on Galaxy S26 Ultra

For step-by-step instructions to turn on Privacy Display, please refer to the following video.

The Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026 have officially come to a close, marking a new chapter in Samsung’s nearly three-decade partnership with the Olympic and Paralympic Movement. Across mountains, cities and stadiums – from San Siro to the slopes of Livigno, from the Olympic Village to the heart of Milan – Samsung’s mobile innovation helped connect athletes, fans and communities in every moment.

Guided by the message “Open always wins”, Samsung brought new perspectives to the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, opening up podium celebrations, broadcast storytelling, athlete connections and everyday interactions in ways that felt more personal, more immersive and more human than ever before.

The Samsung Newsroom revisits the defining milestones that shaped Milano Cortina 2026.

Winning Together: Victory Selfie Becomes Iconic Podium Culture

On the Olympic podium, the instinct to share a once-in-a-lifetime achievement comes naturally. Victory Selfie captures that instinct —as a real, athlete-shaped moment of connection, self-expression and shared celebration.

Gold medalists of Team United States, silver medalists of Team Japan and bronze medalists of Team Italy pose for a Victory Selfie after the figure skating team event.

At Milano Cortina 2026, Victory Selfie continued to grow into an iconic podium culture, reflecting how athletes choose to remember and share the emotion of the moment — whether standing alone, side by side, or as a team. Powered by the Galaxy Z Flip7 Olympic Edition, medallists captured their victories directly from the podium, turning medal moments into personal, shareable memories in their own voice.

Across the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, Victory Selfie became an official part of the medal ceremony across all events — reinforcing the podium as more than a ceremonial stage, but a cultural moment of unity, gratitude and celebration.

In a broader sense, Victory Selfie also reflected the spirit of openness — showing that the Olympic and Paralympic Games are not only about competition, but about sportsmanship, connection and the moments that bring people together beyond results.

That same spirit continued beyond the podium, as Team Samsung Galaxy shared “Open always wins” stories throughout the Games, with 73 members across 18 countries bringing fans closer to the athletes and moments behind the Games.

Nearly 3,800 Athletes Connected With the Galaxy Z Flip7 Olympic Edition

For Milano Cortina 2026, Samsung provided the Galaxy Z Flip7 Olympic Edition to nearly 3,800 Olympians and Paralympians. Designed as an intelligent, pocket-sized companion, the Olympic Edition supported athletes from Olympic Village life to medal ceremonies.

U.S. figure skaters, including Team Samsung Galaxy star and Milano Cortina 2026 gold medallist Alysa Liu, show off their Galaxy Z Flip7 Olympic Edition at the Samsung Open Station in the Olympic Village.

With Galaxy AI at the core, the Galaxy Z Flip7 Olympic Edition helped athletes communicate, create and share more seamlessly throughout their Games-time journey. Key capabilities included:

Interpreter[1], powered by Galaxy AI — enabling real-time translation processed directly on device, helping conversations stay natural

Dual Recording[2], allowing athletes to capture both sides of a moment at once — their reactions and the world around them — for richer, more immersive storytelling

Photo Assist[3], supporting fast, high-quality edits that helped athletes be creative and share memorable images with ease

Now Brief[4], delivering personalized daily updates such as reminders and calendar events to support a smoother routine amid an intense schedule

Games-time athlete services and connectivity support, including access to Athlete365, the Galaxy Athlete Card helping athletes stay informed and connected throughout the Olympic and Paralympic Games

The device’s distinctive design — combining Samsung’s signature blue with a custom gold frame — symbolized both unity and excellence, reflecting the spirit of Milano Cortina 2026.

Dynamic Perspectives: Galaxy Devices Integrated Into the Opening Ceremony Broadcast

Milano Cortina 2026 also expanded how fans experienced Games-time storytelling. In collaboration with Olympic Broadcasting Services (OBS), Samsung helped introduce new, immersive perspectives into the Opening Ceremony broadcast environment.

For the first time at an Olympic Winter Games Opening Ceremony, 26 Galaxy S25 Ultra devices were embedded across the live broadcast setting. Positioned across athlete entrance tunnels, stadium stands and dynamic camera rig placements, Galaxy devices captured immersive views wirelessly and in real time — complementing traditional broadcast infrastructure and helping viewers worldwide feel closer to the emotion of the moment.

From the Parade of Nations to behind-the-scenes celebrations, athletes also used their Galaxy devices to capture and share personal Opening Ceremony memories — extending the experience beyond the stadium into the hands of the people who lived it.

Beyond the Spotlight: Connecting Everyday Moments Across the Olympic and Paralympic Games

Across Olympic Villages and venues, Samsung equipped select Games-time support teams with Galaxy devices featuring Interpreter, powered by Galaxy AI — enabling real-time translation processed directly on device, supporting day-to-day interactions.

Team Samsung Galaxy figure skater Daniel Grassl of Italy uses Galaxy AI-powered Interpreter at the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Village (Photo courtesy of Samsung Electronics).

In total, more than 850 Galaxy devices embedded with Interpreter were provided to a select group of volunteers to support Games-time assistance across the event, helping conversations stay smooth, welcoming and human-centered.

Inside competition venues, Samsung technology also supported operations and fair play. Samsung monitors supported officiating in Short-Track Speed Skating disciplines, contributing to operational clarity and consistency during competition.

Around host cities and venues, 64 Galaxy Charging Stations helped spectators stay powered during long event days, ensuring meaningful moments could be captured and shared in real time, without interruption.

Samsung House: A Central Hub for Openness

At the heart of Milan, inside the historic Palazzo Serbelloni, Samsung House became a central gathering space for athletes, media and partners throughout both the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.

A view of Samsung House, inside the historic Palazzo Serbelloni, in Milan, Italy (Photo courtesy of Samsung Electronics)

It hosted National Olympic Committee events, live competition viewings, athlete visits, media engagements and stakeholder meetings – creating space for reflection and shared celebration beyond competition.

The venue also showcased Samsung’s Olympic legacy through the Olympic Edition Gallery, featuring Olympic Editions from across the years and bridging nearly four decades of innovation with the present through Milano Cortina 2026.

Norwegian speed skater and 5000m gold medallist Sander Eitrem visits Samsung House and takes a Victory profile photo with the Galaxy S25 Ultra.

Meanwhile, the Victory Profile portrait series was captured on Galaxy S25 Ultra — featuring athletes throughout Milano Cortina 2026 — and visitors were invited to step into the experience themselves, using the same device to capture their own moment.

Opening Up the Future: From Milano Cortina 2026 to LA28

From Galaxy Z Flip7 Olympic Editions distributed to thousands of athletes, to broadcast integration, AI-powered communication tools and Games-time operational support, Samsung’s role at Milano Cortina 2026 reflected the evolving way the world experiences the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

As Milano Cortina 2026 came to a close, attention began to shift toward what comes next. Building on the spirit of “Open always wins”, Samsung will continue to open up the Olympic and Paralympic experience with new perspectives, new technologies and new generations, ensuring that connection remains at the heart of the Olympic and Paralympic Games at LA28.

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. today announced the continued expansion of satellite communication capabilities for select Galaxy smartphones — including the Galaxy S26 series — through ongoing partnerships with leading select global telecommunications operators in North America[1]and Japan[2]. This expansion reflects Samsung’s continued commitment to enhancing user safety and providing seamless mobile experiences through next-generation connectivity — particularly in the era of AI emerging as everyday infrastructure.

“Samsung has a rich legacy in wireless communication technologies, and we strive to be at the forefront of innovation in this space through open collaboration with global partners,” said Won-Joon Choi, President, Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Head of the R&D Office, Mobile eXperience (MX) Business at Samsung Electronics. “As satellite connectivity becomes an important part of the mobile landscape, we are committed to ensuring Galaxy users have reliable access to communication, especially when they need it most.”

As AI is becomes increasingly integrated into everyday life, the importance of reliable connectivity grows more than ever. Designed to support emergency response and essential communication when traditional mobile networks are unavailable, satellite communication is taking on increased significance within commercial mobile networks by providing stable and more seamless network services. Since 2025, Samsung has supported satellite communication on select Galaxy flagship smartphones and Galaxy A series devices. Samsung is also continuously expanding the number of supported models, strengthening the underlying infrastructure that enables Galaxy devices to deliver a truly natural and seamless AI experience.

With capabilities rolling out in phases based on regional network availability and regulatory requirements, Samsung will continue working with network operators and satellite providers to ensure users have reliable access to critical communication tools at crucial moments. This will enable more Galaxy users to access satellite-based messaging and data services — in addition to emergency assistance — in areas where traditional mobile networks are unavailable.

Expanding Satellite Connectivity Through Regional Partnerships

In the U.S., T911, text and data services have been supported in collaboration with T-Satellite with Starlink by T-Mobile since 2025 on select Galaxy flagship and Galaxy A series models released after the Galaxy S21 series. Meanwhile, Verizon offers eSOS and text services on all Galaxy flagship models following the Galaxy S25 series. Samsung is also working with AT&T to support satellite communication features on Galaxy smartphones.

In Europe, in collaboration with Virgin Media O2, satellite communication will now be available on select Galaxy smartphones. Joint trials will begin in March with MasOrange in Spain. Samsung is also working with Vodafone to support satellite communication features on Galaxy smartphones.

In Japan, satellite communication-based text, data functions and the Earthquake and Tsunami Warning System (ETWS) have been provided on Galaxy S22 models and later flagship and Galaxy A series devices through KDDI since 2025. Additionally, in collaboration with SoftBank and DOCOMO, satellite communication features will be available on select Galaxy flagship and Galaxy A series devices starting in 2026. Samsung is also working with Rakuten Mobile to gradually support satellite communication features on Galaxy smartphones.

Samsung is also working with more telecommunications operators to expand support across other Galaxy product categories.

[1] Satellite communication features may begin rolling out in the United States and Canada in accordance with each carrier’s rollout plan.
