Samsung Electronics, the number one player in the gaming monitor market[1], recently announced the global launch of its next-generation Odyssey G9 curved gaming monitor. Unveiled at CES 2020, the G9 joins the G7 in the Odyssey lineup, which has reinvented the gaming experience by bringing together key elements of next-level game play: comfortable curvature, immersive interaction and incredible picture quality.

The Odyssey portfolio’s premium performance has been certified by TÜV Rheinland[2], a leading international certification organization, which recognized the Odyssey monitors with the industry’s best high performance 1000R Curved Display and “Eye Comfort” certificate. The Odyssey G9 is also the first monitor certified to support HRD10+[3], enabling it to deliver games and content in ground-breaking quality through a combination of Quantum dot technology and an HDR1000 panel.

The 49-inch G9 is the world’s first Dual Quad High-Definition (DQHD; 5120×1440 resolution) gaming monitor that offers a deep and immersive 1000R curvature. Mississauga, ON – January 10, 2018 – At CES 2018, Samsung Electronics Canada expanded the connectivity and performance capabilities of its signature curved display line-up with the debut of its new CJ791 monitor, the first curved monitor to feature Intel Thunderbolt 3 connectivity. Designed for entertainment and business audiences, the 34-inch CJ791 model aligns single-source power and processing speed with an exceptional picture quality for a comfortable and productive user experience.

Through a single Thunderbolt 3 cable, CJ791 users can link and dock their monitor and laptop without extensive wiring. The Thunderbolt 3 connection provides processing speed of up to 40 Gigabits per second (Gbps) – a rate nearly four times faster than current USB alternatives¹ – allowing users to enjoy connectivity across a full ecosystem of docks, displays and peripheral devices including iOS laptops, USB type-C laptops, and other desktop accessories like storage drives or external graphics cards. The Thunderbolt 3 interface also enables the CJ791 to provide up to 85 watts (W) of laptop charging power.
