Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. today announced that its 2024 edition of The Frame TV has earned Pantone Validated ArtfulColour certification from Pantone[1], a globally renowned authority in colour standards. This certification highlights The Frame’s advanced adaptive colour technology, which provides exceptional colour reproduction capability that meets Pantone’s rigorous standards for authentic colour,

Pantone Validated ArtfulColour evaluates whether displays can successfully simulate a range of physical Pantone Colour cards and Pantone SkinTone colour cards under CIE[2] standard illuminant D65, which portrays illumination that is approximately equivalent to that of the average midday light in Western or Northern Europe. The Frame TV is the world’s first display in the industry to meet this stringent validation, reaffirming Samsung’s leadership in colour fidelity that was first recognized by previous Pantone Validated status across all QLED TVs in 2022[3].

The Frame’s Art Mode is specifically designed to exhibit artwork and photographs with life-like colours under standard lighting conditions such as at homes or galleries. It offers viewers an immersive and authentic art viewing experience by intelligently adjusting brightness and hues to optimize the image for ambient lighting conditions.

Leveraging Samsung’s innovative QLED display technology, The Frame TV has previously received Pantone Validated and SkinTone Validated approvals for its precise emissive rendering of the full gamut of Pantone SkinTone colours and the vast spectrum of all 2,390 colours contained within the Pantone Matching System (PMS). The Frame TV also comes with a Matte Display — which significantly reduces glare and reflections — bringing the extensive collection of approximately 2,300 artworks from the Samsung Art Store to life.

Samsung Electronics recently announced the global launch of ViewFinity S8 (Model Name: S80PB), a high resolution monitor specifically developed for creative professionals, including content creators, graphic designers and more. ViewFinity, a portmanteau of “View” and “Infinity,” is the new name for Samsung’s high resolution monitor lineup, meaning ‘The Value of Infinite Viewing Experience’, and showcases Samsung’s ambition to establish a new benchmark for high resolution monitors.

The Samsung ViewFinity S8 is available in 32” and 27” models to provide excellent performance in the most popular screen sizes. Pro-grade UHD resolution is combined with a wide colour gamut up to 98% of DCI-P3^[1] and Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA) DisplayHDR 600^[2] for more range, accuracy and nuance. Professional factory calibration ensures up to one billion colours are projected in crystal clarity on the IPS panel, which creates vibrant colour reproduction and contrast while working on the most complex visual and design projects.

Moreover, Samsung ViewFinity S8 received the ‘PANTONE Validated’^[3] recognition in display from PANTONE^[4] — meaning the models authentically reproduce more than 2,000 colours as well as the newly added 110 skin tone shades which can be found in the PANTONE SkinTone Guide.

As a UL^[5] verified Glare Free monitor, Matte Display is applied on the top of the panel, reducing light reflection even when not using a monitor hood which provides a distraction-free working environment. This is enhanced by a wide viewing angle, allowing users to see images clearly from any angle. Plus, ViewFinity S8 earned the CES 2022 Innovation Award Honouree in the Computer Peripherals & Accessories category in recognition of Samsung’s ongoing efforts to deliver continued benefits to its customers.

Samsung has developed and applied a new material, made with repurposed ocean-bound plastics, to the ViewFinity S8 to reduce marine waste and minimize the environmental footprint. This year, Samsung uses more recycled plastics to produce its display products than it did in 2021. Samsung’s Eco Savings Plus technology also reduces pixel brightness in sections of an image with black pixels. In fact, ViewFinity S8 is TCO Certified^[6] for its product design based on specific social and environmental responsibility requirements, as its product lifecycle also contributes to the circular economy.

The ViewFinity S8 offers increased functionality to create efficient workflows. It can be used as an all-in-one dock for desktops or laptops at simplified workstations both at home and in the office. Also, users can connect the monitor with a single USB Type-C cable enabled display signals, 10Gbps data transfers, fast internet speeds via an Ethernet^[7] connection and fast charging with up to 90W power.
