Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., a global leader in technology, announced today that 43 of its new product and service innovations received CES® 2022 Innovation Awards honours, including four Best of Innovations accolades, from the Consumer Technology Association (CTA). The annual awards program spotlights standout design and engineering across multiple consumer technology product categories.

Samsung leadership across multiple categories exemplifies its deep heritage developing cross-category innovations that propel the industry and society forward. This year, CTA recognized Samsung Honourees in a range of categories, including Computer Peripherals & Accessories, Computer Hardware & Components, Digital Imaging/Photography, Embedded Technologies, Gaming, Headphones & Personal Audio, Health & Wellness, Home Appliances, Home AV Components & Accessories, Mobile Devices and Accessories, Smart Home, Software and Mobile Apps, Sustainability, Wearable Technologies and Video Displays.

The CES Innovation Awards are sponsored by the CTA, the owner and organizer of CES – the world’s largest and most influential technology event. CES 2022 returns to Las Vegas next year, after a digital-only version of the event in 2021. Jong-Hee (JH) Han, President and Head of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics, will deliver the pre-show keynote address on Tuesday, Jan. 4 at 6:30 PM PST in the Venetian’s Palazzo Ballroom in Las Vegas, NV.

Television sets and talk show studios often become as iconic as the stars that call them home. Cityline and host Tracy Moore are no exception.

With the latest season of North America’s longest running daytime show for women once again on Canadians’ screens, the Cityline set needed a refresh to welcome guests back. Samsung Canada identified an opportunity to revamp the set and give audience members and guests alike a unique studio experience.

Innovative digital displays deliver inspiring content

From the moment guests step foot into the studio or tune in from home, they can see the iconic Cityline in stunning 4K on Samsung’s 98” Premium Display QBT and 85″ Premium Display QMR. Situated behind the conversation and makeover area where Tracy chats with guests, the Samsung QMR and QMT series of displays deliver incredible UHD resolution as they showcase the latest fashion and beauty trends.

Both displays include intelligent UHD upscaling[1] and rich flawless colours with Dynamic Crystal Colour, all in a slim design, showcasing the Cityline branding in sharp picture quality. The QMR series features non-glare display, providing better visibility of on-screen content from all angles at any time of the day, while the QBT series includes an all-new symmetrical design which makes installation simple, ideal for when sets need to be changed. The digital displays complement the new set and offer Cityline the opportunity to showcase content in vivid and brilliant colour.

Cooking meets style in the Samsung Kitchen

Always the first to showcase the latest trends, Samsung Canada provided Cityline with its brand new Bespoke 4-Door Flex Refrigerator to create the show’s first ever fully working kitchen, as well as a suite of connected kitchen appliances, ensuring hosts have cutting-edge tools to cook up a storm in the brand new ‘Samsung Kitchen’.

Created with consumers’ style in mind, Samsung’s Bespoke 4-Door Flex Refrigerator is a unique blend of personalized aesthetic with premium refrigeration and is the highlight of the Samsung Kitchen. The Bespoke 4-Door Flex features customizable outside panels with colours, materials and finishes to reflect a variety of personal styles, together with customizable and convertible compartments on the inside.

Bespoke is the perfect mix of style and function in the new kitchen. With 8 different panel colours available, as well as 3 different finishes, Bespoke offers the ability to mix and match styles, bringing the world of fashion into the kitchen and allowing the Cityline set to change up its style as the show evolves. The stylish piece of technology is ideal for the revamped set and the Cityline brand, which has long encouraged viewers to flaunt their unique personalities and show their true colours.

To help guests showcase their cooking skills, the kitchen features Samsung’s Double Wall Oven with Power Convection, offering a flexible choice of cooking methods to cater to any recipe. Meanwhile, the Samsung Induction Cooktop provides a large, open area that offers greater flexibility for cooking multiple dishes. It is able to accommodate different sizes of pots and pans to cook everything evenly and efficiently without “dead zones.” To round out the complete kitchen revamp and to avoid the build-up of dirty dishes, the space also features the Samsung AquaBlast Dishwasher which provides corner to corner coverage for superb cleaning. No need for scrubbing!
