Samsung Canada today announced Galaxy Campus Crew, a new national community where post-secondary students can explore the latest technology and share how it elevates the university or college experience. Samsung is inviting students across Canada to apply for one of the inaugural spots in the program.

From studying and creating to connecting with friends and getting things done, Galaxy Campus Crew members will put the latest Galaxy technology to use across university and college life. Their firsthand experiences will offer Samsung valuable insight into the tools and features that matter most to today’s students.

As part of the program, each member will receive a Galaxy welcome kit featuring the latest Galaxy products. Throughout the program, Crew members will take part in activities designed to put Galaxy technology into action, with opportunities to unlock rewards along the way.

The program launches at a moment when AI is changing the university and college experience and reshaping how students prepare for their careers. Galaxy Campus Crew gives students the opportunity to use Galaxy devices as a tool to conquer school and their everyday lives.

“Students are already defining what the next era of technology will look like, not just through what they use, but how they use it”, said Tarik Akad, Vice President of Mobile at Samsung Electronics Canada. “Galaxy Campus Crew is a two-way exchange: students will have opportunities to explore, experiment, build new skills, and connect with peers, while Samsung will have the opportunity to listen and learn from how they use technology in their everyday lives. We’re excited to see where they take it.”

Samsung is looking for Canadian post-secondary students who are curious, creative and ready to bring their perspective to the Crew. The program welcomes students discovering Galaxy for the first time as well as existing users who want to go deeper and help others explore what the Galaxy ecosystem can offer.

Students new to Galaxy can also explore the Try Galaxy experience from their current smartphone to get a taste of the Galaxy ecosystem. When they’re ready to make the move, Smart Switch [1]helps bring photos, messages, apps, settings and more to their new Galaxy device.

Applications are now open and close November 2, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. ET. Students can learn more and apply at www.samsung.com/ca/galaxycampuscrew.

Foldable smartphones have reached a turning point. What was once viewed as a new and unfamiliar category is moving into the mainstream, giving Canadians new ways to work, create, multitask and stay connected. With more choice—and fewer barriers to switching—the question is no longer simply whether foldables are ready, but whether now is the moment to experience one.

That decision still comes with important questions. How durable are foldable devices? What is it like to use one every day? And have the practical barriers to leaving a current smartphone ecosystem finally become easier to overcome?

To meet that moment, Samsung Canada is launching Ask Us Anything, a new initiative that connects Canadians with people who have firsthand experience living, working and creating with Galaxy foldable devices—helping turn hesitation into practical understanding when it matters most.

After eight years of foldable innovation, Samsung has helped shape the category from its earliest days. Over that time, the conversation around foldables has evolved. What began as questions about the technology itself has become a conversation about how foldables fit into everyday life.

Ask Us Anything reflects that shift by bringing together Samsung Members, creators and experienced foldable users to share practical insights, real-world perspectives and honest answers based on everyday use.

“Samsung has spent the last eight years pioneering and advancing the foldable category,” said Tarik Akad, Vice President, Mobile Experience, Samsung Canada. “Today, foldables are attracting more interest than ever before, and the conversation is evolving alongside it. People want to understand not only what foldables can do, but what it’s actually like to live, work and create with them every day. Ask Us Anything reflects our belief that the experience gained over nearly a decade of foldable innovation should be more accessible to the people now considering the category for themselves.”

Real Questions. Real Foldable Experience.

At its core, Ask Us Anything is designed to answer the questions Canadians are already asking.

Across social media, online communities and creator platforms, experienced voices from across technology, photography, gaming, travel, productivity and lifestyle will share their perspectives on topics ranging from durability and multitasking to entertainment, creativity and everyday use.

By putting real experiences at the centre of the conversation, Ask Us Anything aims to make foldables feel easier to understand for anyone exploring the category for the first time.

The Ask Us Anything squad includes:

Switching Has Never Been Easier

Many of the questions people have about foldables are not just about the device itself. They are about making a change.

For those considering the move to Galaxy, recent updates are designed to make the transition feel less like starting over. On compatible devices, Smart Switch[1] can now begin wirelessly with a QR code, without requiring the app to be installed on the iOS device, and can move more types of data to help a new Galaxy feel familiar sooner. Enhanced Quick Share[2] also supports direct sharing with AirDrop[3] on supported devices, helping people stay connected across ecosystems after the switch.

An easier start with Smart Switch: On compatible devices, scan a QR code to begin a wireless transfer without installing Smart Switch on the iOS device, then bring contacts, photos, messages, apps, settings and more to Galaxy.

Sharing that works across ecosystems: Enhanced Quick Share can now work with AirDrop on supported devices, helping Galaxy and iOS users send and receive photos, videos and files directly without relying on compressed messaging attachments or workarounds.

RCS Messaging: Keep conversations moving with richer cross-platform chats on compatible devices, including high-quality media and modern messaging features.

For those considering making the move to Galaxy, visit Switch to Galaxy to see how easy the process can be.

Because choosing a foldable should not be about starting over. It should be about discovering what’s possible.

[1] Transferable data may vary depending on the device OS (Android or iOS), OS version, and/or connection option.

Getting a new phone should be exciting, but moving data from an existing device can sometimes feel like a hassle. For users switching from iOS to Galaxy, being able to transfer existing data and settings across easily is an important part of the experience.

Smart Switch is Samsung’s data transfer app[1] that allows users to move contacts, photos, videos, messages, apps, settings and more from an Android or iOS device to a new Galaxy device. With One UI 9 on the new eighth-generation Galaxy Z series, Smart Switch makes switching devices easier and more seamless than before. Quick Share has also been enhanced, making it easier to share files with friends, family and colleagues using different platforms.

Start Switching With Just a QR Code

With One UI 9, users no longer need to install the Smart Switch app separately on their iOS device. By simply scanning the QR code displayed on their new Galaxy, they can start transferring data through Smart Switch.

The updated Smart Switch also makes it easier to connect wirelessly. The two devices can connect without users needing to find the right cable or adapter before getting their new phone set up.

Bring More from Your Old Phone With You

With One UI 9, Smart Switch has expanded the types of data that can move from iOS devices to Galaxy. In addition to previously supported data such as photos, messages, contacts, calendars and apps, users can also transfer passwords and passkeys, call history, accessibility settings and eSIM information.

These may be less visible than a photo library, but they can make a big difference to how quickly a new device feels ready to use. A saved password means one less account to set up again. Bringing over accessibility settings can reduce the need to recreate a personalized experience. eSIM information can also be transferred, making it easier to continue using an existing mobile setup.

Make Galaxy Feel More Familiar

Whether switching to Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Z Fold8 or Z Flip8, users can make their new device feel familiar from the start. Beyond transferring data, they can adjust key settings such as Swipe gestures and Home screen layout to suit the way they use their phone. With the UI customization app Good Lock, users can also personalize the Home screen, app switching and more, giving them greater freedom to use Galaxy in the way that works best for them.

For those switching from iOS to Galaxy, these options can help recreate familiar ways of navigating and organizing their previous smartphone, reducing the adjustment that can come with moving to a new environment. This helps users settle into their new Galaxy more comfortably and naturally from the start.

Keep Sharing After the Switch

Changing smartphones does not mean everyone around a user changes theirs too.

Friends, family and colleagues may continue using different devices, which makes cross-platform sharing an important part of the experience long after setup is finished. Devices running One UI 9 and One UI 8.5 can benefit from an enhanced cross-device sharing experience[2] with Quick Share. With AirDrop compatibility, Quick Share makes it easier to share files between Galaxy and iOS devices.[3]

Choosing a new smartphone should come down to the experience people want next. By simplifying how the switch begins, expanding what can move across and making it easier to keep sharing afterwards, Samsung is reducing more of the practical barriers between smartphone ecosystems.

The result is a simpler way to move to Galaxy, while bringing more of what already matters along for the journey.

Buying a new smartphone is a big decision, but for years that choice was complicated by the switch itself. Transitioning to a new device meant learning a new interface from scratch, wondering if your contacts and messages would reappear and worrying about whether the apps and files you rely on would come with you.

But switching should be the easy part.

That’s why Samsung built a connected experience designed to remove friction before, during and after the move to Galaxy. With Try Galaxy, Smart Switch and Quick Share, users can explore the Galaxy experience, bring over the content that matters most and stay connected across devices.

It starts before a new phone is even in someone’s hands.

Try Galaxy gives users the chance to experience the Galaxy interface directly from their current smartphone through an interactive web app. From navigating One UI to exploring Galaxy AI features and everyday productivity tools, users can get a feel for the Galaxy experience before deciding to make the switch.

Once they’re ready, Smart Switch makes moving to Galaxy a seamless process. Photos, videos, contacts, messages, apps and settings can all be transferred from compatible Android and iOS devices, enabling users to pick up where they left off instead of starting from scratch.

The experience continues after setup with Quick Share, which simplifies file sharing between compatible Galaxy devices and Windows PCs, as well as iOS and macOS devices via AirDrop. Whether collaborating on an important document with colleagues, sharing family photos or moving videos between personal devices, Quick Share helps keep everything connected.

“We’ve focused on removing the barriers that have traditionally made switching feel like a chore,” said Tarik Akad, Head of Mobile, Samsung Electronics Canada. “Whether someone wants to try Galaxy before making a decision, transfer years of memories or stay connected across devices, we’re making it easier than ever to join the Galaxy ecosystem.”

Try Galaxy, Smart Switch and Quick Share work together to reflect Samsung’s broader Why Galaxy vision: making technology work around people’s lives, rather than the other way around.
