<p>Samsung Electronics announced its latest results on the energy performance of its <span style="color: #0000ff"><strong>Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF)</strong></span> System and enhanced control algorithm (CCM) based on a research conducted by the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) – the largest science and energy national laboratory in the United States Department of Energy (DOE).</p>
<p>According to ORNL’s report , Samsung heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) VRF Systems with CCM are up to 25.7% and 80% more energy efficient in cooling and heating, respectively, compared to conventional baseline rooftop unit (RTU) systems. When converted into an electricity bill, Samsung VRFs would save up to USD 4,384 annually .</p>
<p>“The report clearly stated how energy efficient Samsung VRFs are compared to conventional RTUs,” said Charles H. Park, Vice President and A/C Part Leader at Samsung Electronics. “Our innovative technology and unique algorithm made this possible while delivering all the comfort our North American customers continuously look for.”</p>
<p>The research took place at ORNL, where a 2-storey 1,600ft2 building had been newly constructed, specifically to compare the cooling and heating performance of Samsung VRFs and CCM to conventional RTUs. The test commenced on June 3, 2014.</p>
