The Auto Cycle Link feature recommends the most appropriate drying course once a cleaning cycle ends. Through its connection to your Samsung smart washer, it quickly and intelligently identifies the appropriate drying cycle on your AirDresser according to the wash cycle settings.

The Bespoke AirDresser’s AI Dry technology uses a humidity sensor on the inside of the door to enable faster drying too. Samsung Newsroom sat down with Chul-Kie Park and YunKyung Kim from the Living Product Planning Group at Samsung Electronics’ Digital Appliances Business to hear the story behind the AirDresser and how it is reimagining garment care for various types of lifestyles.

Q. What brought about the development of the AirDresser? What were some important considerations regarding its development?

Chul-Kie Park: Today people are bringing more aspects of their lives into their homes. Consumers can now make restaurant-quality meals in their own kitchens and work out at home like they’re exercising with professional trainers. However, until now, this convenience had not spread to the area of clothing care. People still had to take their delicate and specialty clothing items to professional cleaners – trips which are often onerous and expensive. Consumers across the globe also have increasingly high standards for personal hygiene these days, meaning that demand is high for a quick and easy solution that can remove pollutants from clothes that have been worn outdoors.

To answer this call, we developed a device that is both powerful and easy to use. With the AirDresser users just need to fill the water tank and plug the product into a standard electrical outlet to begin refreshing their clothes inside and out. The powerful, high-temperature steam produced by the AirDresser enables the solution’s ‘Sanitize cycle’, which eliminates 99.9% of certain types of bacteria¹ and helps prevent pollutants from the outdoors from compromising your home environment. And to make things even easier, the ‘Self Clean’ function minimizes the need for hands-on cleaning.

Q. How do you predict the AirDresser will come to positively impact consumers’ lives?

YunKyung Kim: The AirDresser makes it simple to refresh clothes at home, at any time. With this advanced device, users no longer have to shy away from buying or cleaning clothes that are made from specialty materials like leather, as the AirDresser provides customized care for a range of sensitive materials. For frequently worn items like school uniforms and coats, consumers can make a habit of hanging their clothes up in the AirDresser as soon as they get home. By the next day, their garments will all be refreshed and ready to be worn again.

Chul-Kie Park: The Sanitize Cycle was a particular draw for DINK (double income, no kids) couples who wear business attire to work, have busy schedules, and are also very health-conscious. But even beyond that, the AirDresser has a wide range of features and services to suit users in all stages of life. For families with young children, for instance, the AirDresser offers cycles that are designed to care for soft toys, bedding and babywear.

Q: What special features and capabilities set the AirDresser apart?

YunKyung Kim: My personal favorite is the ‘Inner Fabric Care’ capability. This function sends powerful air through the inside of your garments using the AirDresser’s specialized ‘Air hanger,’ refreshing each garment inside and out. This allows the product to remove unseen bacteria and odors from the parts of your clothing that actually make contact with your skin.

‘Air hanger’ allows for the removal of creases from garments like shirts and jackets.

‘Care Recipe’ is another feature worth noting. Accessible through the SmartThings smartphone app, users can select their fabric and garment type and receive tailored cycle recommendations. Chul-Kie Park: Some other SmartThings features I like are ‘My Closet’, ‘Special Course’ and ‘Home Care’. While ‘My Closet’ stores details for each item and suggests courses for them, ‘Special Course’ allows you to download and store cycles, while ‘Home Care’ remotely identifies problems and provides troubleshooting services.

To see how Condola is making the most of these two devices, we caught up with her to discuss creativity, technology, and what she’s learned in the past few months.

How have you remained inspired and creative in the past few months?

When quarantine started, I had to give myself permission to stop and find beauty in the stillness. I used the time to listen to and rediscover the sound of my own breath. That much-needed space allowed room for the things that bring me joy and comfort, like music. My music collection has always been eclectic, but since quarantine began, I’ve been exploring more classical music and have found Brazilian Jazz so soothing.

For a sense of normalcy in quarantine, I’ve also been continuing to dress up, even if it’s just for myself. My general rule of thumb has always been: Dress how you want to feel. So that’s why you can find me in bright colors and patterns, and a big part of why I’ve been able to keep up that routine has been the AirDresser.

In general, what is your relationship with technology?

My life is all about creativity and self-expression, so I gravitate toward technology that enhances those facets of myself, without changing who I am. I use technology to create meaningful connections, whether with fans I’ve never met or friends and family I’ve known my whole life.

And recently, I’ve had so much fun exploring how Galaxy Z Flip can further enhance those relationships. By taking hands-free selfies for example, I can authentically capture myself in my environment whether I am sitting quietly in nature or in bed reading a book. And I love video chatting with my mom in the morning while having my hands free to make a quick breakfast. It lets me forget about the technology and just focus on the conversation.

How else have you been using Galaxy Z Flip?

Spending so much time at home has really blended my work life and personal life—and the Z Flip has helped me stay flexible, so I can navigate these uncertain times. Using split screen with Flex Mode makes it easy to scroll through music while I use the selfie camera to put on makeup or I can watch a film on the top half of the screen while taking notes on the bottom half. Those are just a couple of the many ways that it’s helped make my days a little easier, more creative, and more enjoyable.

Can you tell us more about how you’re using AirDresser?

When I step into a dress and it looks the way it’s supposed to, smooth and ready to wear, I’m instantly more confident and in a better mood. I’m really taking advantage of the Sanitize Cycle, and I love how it works with so many different kinds of fabrics. AirDresser also saves so much time. I get a notification on my Z Flip on the SmartThings app as soon as it’s done, which comes in handy since the machine is so quiet, I sometimes forget it’s even on.

As we find ourselves spending more and more time indoors, attention has turned worldwide to solutions that can help us keep our homes clean as easily as possible. Refresh Your Garments With AirDresser

Washing your hands after coming home is a key part of best-practice hygiene, but you may still be concerned about the dust, bacteria, viruses and allergens that can linger on clothes after going outdoors. Sanitizing your clothes as soon as you get home is a surefire way to ensure peace of mind.

Samsung’s AirDresser is an easy way to freshen up garments that are difficult to wash on a regular basis, including coats, padded jackets, and suits. The AirDresser’s Jet Air and Air Hangers blast powerful gusts of air through your garments to thoroughly clean them inside and out. For an extra-thorough clean, you can also use the AirDresser’s Sanitize cycle with JetSteam. The technology has been certified by Intertek to remove 99.9% of bacteria from garments,² and JetSteam has also been given the Seal of Approval by the British Allergy Foundation (BAF) for being able to effectively reduce house dust mites, fungi, and bacteria-related allergens.³ Reduce any lingering germs with the AirDresser’s internal temperature of up to 70°C (around 160°F).

Remove Ingrained Dirt With Samsung Washers

For those deep-seated germs or mites in your clothing, Samsung’s washing machines have a range of options to keep any fabric fresh.

First, Samsung washers use steam to fight off any bacteria clinging to clothes. The Hygiene Steam cycle of Samsung washing machines has been awarded the BAF’s seal of approval for its effective reduction of house dust mites, cat and dog dander, grass pollen and fungi allergens.⁴ Intertek has certified this cycle to remove 99.9% of bacteria,⁵ and it has also been certified by SMEC and CHEARI in China to remove more than 99.99% of bacteria.⁶

For a washing machine to be at peak performance, keeping the tub fresh at all times is essential. The Eco Drum Clean+ cycle in Samsung washers has been certified by Intertek to remove more than 99.9% of biofilm (bacterial buildup) on Samsung washers’ tub-insert carriers. For models with a Self Clean+ function, ultra-intense jets of high-temperature water will remove 99% of bacteria⁷ that can accumulate inside the drum. This built-in feature of the washing machine also removes the need for users to buy cleaning agents for utmost practicality and convenience.

Keep Dishes Safely Sterilized With a Samsung Dishwasher

Dishes, cups and other utensils come into direct contact with your mouth, meaning that it is imperative to keep them clean and hygienic after every use. With a Samsung dishwasher, you can harness the sterilization power of water at a temperature of 70°C (around 160°F), the optimal temperature to kill any lingering bacteria or viruses, when washing your dishes – and all without any plastic deformation. Intense vertical jets blast fresh tap water for a more sanitary clean. The Sanitize option in certain models⁸ has been certified according to NSF Standard 184 by Intertek to eliminate 99.99% of lingering food bacteria to put your mind at ease.

Breathe Easier With Clean, Filtered Air

To take care of air quality inside the home, Samsung’s Cube Air Purifier is the perfect solution. Its True HEPA filter can collect 99.97% of 0.3㎛(micrometer)-sized⁹ nano-particulate matters, some of the trickiest particles to catch, before they have a chance to circulate in your home. Furthermore, the Cube Air Purifier can effectively remove pollen and other ultrafine particles that cause respiratory diseases or allergies and also helps remove numerous kinds of odors and harmful gases. Catch Every Last Particle With the Samsung Jet

The Samsung Jet features an ultrafine dust filter¹² that catches 99.999% of micro dust, meaning that dust will not escape back out into the air once trapped. The vacuum is also equipped with a Clean Station that keeps dust from being released back into the air during the device cleaning process.

All you need to do is place the vacuum’s dustbin on top of the Clean Station, where Air Pulse technology uses internal air pressure to empty the dustbin. Samsung Electronics today announced the global launch of its innovative AirDresser in markets around the world, including the U.K. and Russia. Samsung’s latest home innovation uses powerful air and steam to remove dust and germs, refreshing and sanitizing clothes to provide easy and convenient garment care.

Once a garment is hung inside the unit, the user can initiate the cycle and simply wait for the system to run its course: The Jet Air and Air Hangers release powerful air to loosen and remove engrained dust, with only minimal noise and vibration, quiet enough for anywhere inside the home, including the bedroom.

Then, the JetSteam sanitizes the garments to get rid of the bacteria, viruses, and allergens.* Infusing high temperature steam deep into the fabric, JetSteam is the perfect tool for routine sterilization of clothes and many other household items such as linen and soft toys.

Full Line Up of Visual Display Announced with New 55-Inch QLED 8K TV

Since the launch of Samsung’s QLED 8K TV last year, total purchases of QLED TVs have increased 200 percent year-on-year. Introducing the New Galaxy A90 5G: Samsung Expands its 5G-Enabled Galaxy Ecosystem

Samsung Electronics will unveil three new advanced home appliances in Europe — the POWERstick Jet vacuum cleaner, AirDresser, and the Cube air purifier. Together, these three home appliances, which are being introduced at IFA 2019 ahead of launches elsewhere, will take Europe consumers’ breath away.

Each device offers a unique and practical solution to the many challenges of modern urban lifestyles, like clothing contamination, air pollution and dust.

In the first stage of the filtration process, the main cyclone separates large dust particles, which are then trapped in another metal mesh grille filter. AirDresser freshens clothes with its Jet Air system and Air Hangers, using powerful jets of air to loosen and remove engrained dust, even from deep within the fabric. The Jet Steam feature sanitizes garments gently to get rid of bacteria while Heatpump Drying also provides delicate care for clothes by drying them at a low temperature to reduce shrinkage and heat damage. Clean Air for Indoor Living

European consumers are becoming more interested in how the environment impacts their health and are curious to learn the benefits of having an air purifier at home. Samsung Cube AX9500 is Samsung’s first air purifier model to launch in the European market, and features the world’s first Wind-Free air purification system. Unlike other air purifiers, the Samsung Cube AX9500 does not have an air draft or makes loud noises. Also, powerful air purification is provided with a 3-layered purification system that purifies and deodorizes air. First, the Washable Pre Filter extracts larger dust particles, such as pollen and pet dander. Then, an Activated Carbon Deodorization Filter reduces the presence of various potentially dangerous gases, such as formaldehyde, toluene, ethylbenzene and styrene⁵. Finally, an ultra-fine dust filter captures up to 99.97% of 0.3µm sized dust particles.⁶

The unit features a cube-shaped, modular design with contemporary aesthetics to match its powerful, customized performance.
