The CTO’s Choice Award is selected by a panel of industry experts comprised of 21 CTOs from leading mobile network operators around the globe. Chosen among the six winners in the Best Mobile Technology category — recognizing distinguished leaders in networks and technology — this is the highest recognition at the prestigious industry awards and a top honor in the global telco industry.

This award is backed by Samsung’s commercial track record of vRAN deployments in wide-scale in North America, Europe and Asia. Samsung delivered its 5G vRAN solutions for a large-scale commercial network service in the United States that launched in December 2020, providing reliable mobile services to millions of users. The company was also the world’s first in commercializing 5G 64T64R Massive MIMO radios on 5G vRAN using C-band spectrum (3.5GHz).

Samsung Electronics won an Outstanding Achievement in Innovation Award for its Smart UX Center at the Buyers Laboratory (BLI) Summer 2016 Awards.

The Smart UX Center is the printing industry’s first ever Android-based system, enabling users to store, photocopy, print, edit and transfer documents in any form between printer, computer and mobile.

BLI, the world’s leading independent evaluator of document imaging hardware and software, gave Samsung’s Smart UX Center a high rating, particularly noting its unique and innovative properties in customizing and expanding printing functions to meet users’ needs.

“The combination of a true Android tablet UI and accessible ‘app store’ by end users, resellers and IT administrators, puts Samsung in the vanguard as MFP makers begin to embrace the app paradigm,” said Jamie Bsales, Director of Office Workflow Solutions Analysis at BLI.

Samsung Electronics’ range of multifunction printers’ (MFPs) Smart UX Center and Printing App Center have been granted a Platinum rating by the Buyers Laboratory Inc. (BLI), an imaging industry evaluator. The BLI’s Platinum ratings are awarded to products that score high in the following categories: Features & Productivity, Usability, IT Admin & Security, Support & Training, and Value.

“This winning combination [of Samsung’s Smart UX Center and Printing App Center] delivers best-in-class usability and extensibility for buyers of Smart UX-equipped Samsung MX-series devices,” said Marlene Orr, Director of Office Equipment Product Analysis at BLI. “Customers should have no trouble finding solutions to boost productivity, streamline daily document-centric workflows, and realize the full potential of their MFPs. With its MultiXpress and ProXpress MFPs, Samsung has created the printing industry’s first ever Android-based UX. The BLI praised this feature for its ease of use and customizable system. BLI’s Solutions Report mentioned that the “clean, user-friendly interface…[requires] minimal training when deployed,” and that it increases productivity for users already familiar with the Android system.

With the MFPs’ touchscreen Smart UX, users now have total control over their printing tasks and can seamlessly add functions using the Printing App Center’s downloadable apps and widgets. The system also offers users a range of remote management and troubleshooting assistance options.

Two More BLI 2016 Winter Pick Awards for Samsung

Samsung also won two more BLI 2016 Pick Awards, which are announced twice annually – in winter and summer.

Samsung’s ProXpress M3825DW received the ‘Outstanding A4 Printer for Small Workgroups’ Winter Pick Award, with the ProXpress series capable of printing 40 pages per minute, and offering a range of features ideal for SMEs. For example, the eXtensible Open Architecture (XOA) web platform enables fast implementation of third-party software, as well as mobile printing through Google Cloud Print.

The ‘Outstanding A4 Printer for Large Workgroups’ Winter Pick Award was won by Samsung’s ProXpress M4530 Series, which is capable of printing up to 47 pages per minute. The M4530’s 1GHz dual-core CPU provides the power and capacity needed to accomplish print and copy jobs of all sizes and complexity, swiftly and easily. It also enables companies to reduce their operating costs and save time due to the long-life drum and extra high yield toner.

The Most Rigorous Evaluation on the Market

BLI’s Line of the Year Awards honor the manufacturers whose product line is determined to be the best overall in its category based on the cumulative test results of all models tested in BLI’s rigorous two-month laboratory evaluation. The selections are made by BLI’s highly experienced staff of technicians and analysts after subjecting scores of devices from every major OEM to BLI’s exhaustive, comprehensive lab tests.

The BLI Winter and Summer Pick Awards acknowledge the products that gave the best performances in BLI’s extensive suite of lab tests in the previous six months.

Samsung Electronics announced that the Samsung WF76F7E6P4W washing machine has been awarded a prestigious number one rating by Germany’s top consumer standards organization.

Stiftung Warentest tested 12 washing machines with a load capacity of seven to eight kilograms and an energy rating of A+++. Each was thoroughly and rigorously tested against a number of criteria including environmental aspects, user friendliness of handling and functionality of washing.

The Samsung WF76F7E6P4W was awarded the best combined score of 1.8, due to its outstanding performance. The functionality of Samsung’s washing machine outshined that of its competition. In particular, the most notable category achievement was scoring ‘very good’ for its ‘durability’, for which around 10 years* of use was simulated, highlighting the longevity of the product and its value for money.

“Our Research & Development experts have been setting new standards for many years at the European Research Council in Stuttgart, with whom we work closely in order to continually advance the white goods category,” said Daniel Harvie, Director of Digital Appliances Business at Samsung Europe. “Because of this, we are especially proud of our recent award in the washing machine category, and believe that it reinforces our strategy and focus on quality and high life expectancy.”

This is the sixth consecutive year that a Samsung washing machine has been awarded this rating in the ‘Life Expectancy’ category**, and these combined achievements further cement Samsung’s status as a global leader in innovation and expertise in the field of home appliances.

Samsung Recognized for Powerful and Reliable Performance

Samsung Electronics has received the prestigious Monochrome Printer/MFP Line of the Year Award for the second consecutive year. The monochrome printers and MFPs were recognized for their superior performance, energy-efficiency, eco-friendliness and ease-of-use.

In the Small to Mid-Size Workgroups category, the NFC-enabled ProXpress C2620DW was awarded the “Outstanding A4 color Printer” award, while the 2670FW won in the MFP category. The MultiXpress M5370LX received the award for “Outstanding A4 Monochrome MFP for Large Workgroups.”

BLI praised the models touchscreen interface, strong performance, and cost-efficiency. “One of the first MFPs on the market to do so, the MX5370 leverages Samsung’s tablet technology for the control panel to create a highly customizable, flexible device,” said BLI Senior Analyst for Printers/A4 MFPs Marlene Orr. “Add in superior performance and low cost of ownership for mid to high-volume users and you’ve got a winner.”

Built for the enterprise market, the MultiXpress X4300 was awarded the “Outstanding 21 to 30ppm A3 Color MFP” award. “Not only did the Samsung MultiXpress X4300LX demonstrate excellent reliability over the course of its 120,000-impression test, it also offers color print quality that is superior to that of many competitors,” said George Mikolay, BLI’s senior product editor for A3 Copiers/MFPs. “And for those environments which output primarily in black and white, the device earned high marks across the board in both print and copy modes.”

Showing Leadership in Energy Efficient Features

Samsung’s laser monochrome MFP, the Xpress M2885FW, received an award for “Outstanding Achievement in Energy Efficiency,” demonstrating Samsung’s continuous efforts in developing innovative products that are powerful yet also cost-efficient. This model provides further benefits to consumers by reducing annual energy consumption with a range of energy-saving features.

“An annual energy consumption rate of 48% that is almost half the average, is a rarity for products we test here at BLI,” said Lisa Reider, Senior Product Editor, Scanners and Environmental at Buyers Laboratory. “Samsung is no stranger to energy-efficient devices, having earned five BLI energy efficiency awards in previous test seasons. The Xpress M2885FW serves as another excellent example of Samsung’s environmental strategy.”
