Samsung Electronics is presenting the latest in the evolution of cutting-edge home appliances and the Internet of Things (IoT) in its 2,600-square-meter exhibition space at CES 2016, the world’s largest consumer electronics show, which began January 6 in Las Vegas.

Visitors to the hall are greeted by a constantly moving display made from 44 SUHD TVs. The up-and-down movement of the TVs suggests how the human experience expands through TV, a window of the world.

As it did last year, Samsung has an IoT section at the center of the exhibition site, this time under the message of “In Sync with REAL Life”. By doing so, Samsung encourages visitors to participate, showing them practical, real-world examples of how the IoT works. The IoT section is comprised of six themed booths, each offering a direct experience in how IoT technology, combined with Samsung products, can transform and improve modern life.

The six booth themes are as follows:

IoT Hub TV (SUHD TV)

This booth demonstrates how TV is at the center of the expanding IoT ecosystem, giving people total control of their devices from a huge screen and an easy-to-use interface. In addition, this booth offers a variety of home security solutions to safeguard your home.

Family Hub Refrigerator

As Samsung Family Hub Refrigerator is the new IoT-powered appliance, this booth allows people to experience how smart home appliances are changing family life. With a Full-HD, 21.5-inch screen, Family Hub helps families improve food management and family communication. In addition, with Family Hub Refrigerator, people can stream music or TV content from their Samsung Smart TVs directly to the Family Hub’s LCD screen, turning the kitchen into a more entertaining place.

Gear S2 with Galaxy TabPro S

Through the Galaxy TabPro S, check out IoT features—Transportation, Commerce, Health, Inside and Outside Control and Notification—on the Gear S2 wearable device.

Samsung Pay/Knox

Try out a real-world simulation of Samsung Pay, Samsung’s simple and safe mobile payment service. In addition, visitors can explore Samsung Knox, the hardware integrated mobile security platform that provides a defense-grade security.

IoT Hub

See how people can monitor, control and customize their homes—anytime, anywhere—by connecting SmartThings and more than 200 certified devices, including Samsung products and service partners.

Partnerships

SmartThings allows you to monitor your car, control your home appliances on the road and watch a collaboration with Samsung C&T for wearable devices.

In addition to those booths, many other cutting-edge electronics are on display at Samsung’s exhibition site for CES 2016. Samsung is showcasing SUHD TVs with Quantum dot display, along with the curved monitor CF591—with an 1800R radius curvature, it has the tightest curvature rate in the world, making it very comfortable for the eyes. Samsung is also displaying its new soundbar for the first time, the HW-K950, which offers theater-like 3D sound and 5.1.4-channels system.

Furthermore, Samsung is showcasing its Black Stainless design of kitchen appliances, which offers a classy, dark look for the home. Samsung’s other innovative home appliances, including AddWash (washing machine), Chef Collection, POWERbot (robot vacuum cleaner), and Flex Duo with dual-door oven, is also on display.

Samsung has also prepared an exhibition zone for the latest in mobile device technologies. Two new editions of the Samsung Gear S2 Classic are on-hand, featuring new materials and colors, along with the Galaxy TabPro S—a Windows 10-based tablet that delivers all the benefits of both a tablet and laptop, at the same time.

A diverse range of new, consumer-ready memory products are being exhibited, too. They include the T3 (a premium 2TB external SSD, to be released in February), the 950 PRO M.2 (a superfast Non-Volatile Memory Express (NVMe*) M.2 form factor SSD with vertical NAND (V-NAND) technology), and the 128GB PRO Plus SD, along with microSD memory cards.

There is also a zone demonstrating the accessibility-related features of Samsung products, including SUHD TVs, for people with disabilities. Samsung won a CES 2016 Best of Innovation Award in the Accessible Tech category with this feature. Voice Guidance is a voice command system, while Enlarge and High Contrast modes configure the screen for easier use by people with vision impairments. These TVs also offer Multi Output Audio (so one person can use headphones while watching TV without disabling the audio output from the TV speakers) and Learn Remote Control mode (to provide help using a remote control).

IFA, the world’s leading trade show for consumer electronics and home appliances, is just around the corner, slated to be held from September 4 to 9, 2015, in Berlin, Germany. Samsung has plenty of exciting products and events on the way, but while the world waits in anticipation, let’s take a look at some of the highlights of last year’s event.

The Booth

Samsung displayed its new gadgets at CityCube Berlin for the first time. In addition to the usual layout of sections dedicated to kitchen appliances, TVs, printing solutions, mobile and wearable devices, the booth also featured two new sections, which were spread out over the building’s two floors.

The Smart Home booth was located directly in the center of Samsung’s setup, a symbolic hub of all the other segments, and the B2B Solutions section was hands-down the biggest ever in IFA history. Take a walk through the Samsung booth via the video below.

Events

No tech trade show would be complete without a few high-profile events, and Samsung hosted several before IFA 2014 even kicked off.

Highlights of the Samsung Press Conference that followed also included loads of product announcements. Samsung Unpacked 2014 Episode 2 revealed the Galaxy Note 4, the Galaxy Note Edge, the Gear S, and the Gear VR, much to the excitement of the event’s attendees. Additionally, B2B was a big area of focus, and the press conference touched on printing solutions, digital signage and SSSP.

Finally, the IFA 2014 Keynote Address conveyed Samsung’s vision for the home of the future, and BK Yoon, President and CEO of Samsung Electronics, captured the attention of the audience when he noted that, “The biggest change, the biggest transformation, it will happen in our homes, at a speed we can barely imagine.”

Gadget lovers went gaga over the numerous products announced at IFA 2014. Spanning all divisions, Samsung’s new appliances and devices included curved TVs, bendable TVs, the Galaxy Tab Active, wireless Multi-room speakers, a new POWERbot and the Chef Collection lineup of cooking appliances, in addition to those previously mentioned.

The Samsung Smart Lounge was the perfect place for journalists and bloggers to introduce the new products, like the Gear S, to the world.

Right outside the end of the Samsung booth at CES 2015, you’ll find a place called “Samsung Smart Lounge”. Since 2012, the Smart Lounge has been the place at major events like CES and IFA for bloggers to rejuvenate their energy level, work on content and mingle with other media channels and bloggers. (Like many Samsung’s product, we were the first one to provide such place for you at CES!)

At this year’s CES, for the most part, Samsung Smart Lounge offers you the things it has been offering from previous major international events.

You can find beverages, in case your body needs some H2O or caffeine.

You can also find tables, power outlets, and free Wi-Fi, so you can post your exclusive CES 2015 content as quickly as possible.

You can use the provided space to conduct or record an interview.

One thing new we did this year with the lounge was to add a space where you can just sit back and relax. As you enter the lounge, the first thing you will see is the big couch like the one you see ……in a lounge.

The vibe in the lounge has been definitely friendly and cozy from open to close; cozy enough for CNN to conduct some of their CES 2015 related interviews.

And if you caught us at the right time, you could also be a live audience for the ‘What’s Trending‘, “a home of all of what is trending on the internet”, and meet Shaq, Nick Cannon, Jessica Chobot, Anthony Pettis, Blake Leeper and more at the lounge.
