Samsung Electronics today introduced its latest innovations in modular Micro LED display technology during its annual First Look CES event at the Aria Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. The revolutionary new Micro LED technology designs featured at the event included: a new 75” display, a 219” The Wall as well as other various groundbreaking sizes, shapes and configurations for a next-generation modular Micro LED display – a 2019 CES Best of Innovation Award winner.

“For decades, Samsung has lead the way in next-generation display innovation,” said Jonghee Han, President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics. “Our Micro LED technology is at the forefront of the next screen revolution with intelligent, customizable displays that excel in every performance category. Samsung Micro LED has no boundaries, only endless possibilities.”

Micro LED featuring 75” Micro LED and 219” The Wall

Featuring leading-edge self-emissive technology and modular capabilities, Samsung’s Micro LED displays deliver unparalleled picture quality, versatility and design. These transformative TV displays are made up of individual modules of self-emissive Micro LEDs, featuring millions of inorganic red, green and blue microscopic LED chips that emit their own light to produce brilliant colors on screen – delivering unmatched picture quality that surpasses any display technology currently available on the market.

At last year’s CES, Samsung introduced Micro LED by unveiling The Wall, the critically acclaimed, award-winning 146” Micro LED display. Due to the technical advancements in the ultra-fine pitch semiconductor packaging process that narrow the gap between the microscopic LED chips, Samsung has been able to create a stunning 4K Micro LED display in a smaller, more home-friendly 75” form factor.

Thanks to the modular nature of Micro LED, this technology offers flexibility in screen size that allows users to customize it to fit any room or space. By adding Micro LED modules, users can expand their display to any size they desire. The modular functionality of Micro LED will allow users in the future to create the ultimate display even at irregular 9×3, 1×7 or 5×1 screen sizes that suits their spatial, aesthetic and functional needs.

Samsung’s Micro LED technology also optimizes the content no matter the size and shape of the screen. Even when adding more modules, Samsung Micro LED displays can scale to increase the resolution — all while keeping the pixel density constant. Additionally, Micro LED can support everything from the standard 16:9 content, to 21:9 widescreen films, to unconventional aspect ratios like 32:9, or even 1:1 – without having to make any compromises in its picture quality.

Finally, because Micro LED displays are bezel-free, there are no borders between modules – even when you add more. The result is a seamless, stunning infinity pool effect that allows the display to elegantly blend into any living environment. The possibilities for eye-catching designs are only enhanced by new Ambient Mode features.

For more detail on Samsung’s 2019 QLED 8K and Micro LED lines, please visit booth #15006 in the Central Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center during CES 2019 (January 8-11, 2019).

In October 2013, Samsung introduced the Galaxy Gear, laying the groundwork for the wearables market, the popularity of which has since taken off worldwide. With an estimated 169 million wearable devices expected to be produced in 2020, Samsung has since expanded its wearables portfolio to embrace the latest in consumer demand and product innovation.

Its brand new Gear S2 reflects the company’s commitment to progressive innovation as the leader of this speedily developing sector, merging simple and intuitive usability, stylish and compact design and better integrated features into a single device.

The Power of the Circle

Perhaps the most stand-out feature of the Gear S2 is its eye-catching design. The Gear S2 is available in two versions, and its design harnesses the power of everything the shape represents: perfection and timelessness.

The premium, elegant look of the Gear S2 Classic and the unique, modern style of the Gear S2 are both refined in design and display. Natural materials such as metal, leather and glass add to their look, while the devices’ compact sizes enable them to naturally fit the wrist like an analogue wristwatch.

The Gear S2’s intuitive interface is just as impressive as its stunning aesthetics, and is navigated via a rotating bezel and side button that allow the user to access a series of pre-set applications and functions quickly and conveniently. Its navigation features are easy-to-use, comfortable and allow for an unobstructed interface, setting it apart from similar devices on the market.

Wrist Control

In addition to its versatile circular display and interface, the Gear S2 is optimized for seamless, everyday use with enhanced wearables technology.

Its always-on communication features let users stay connected like never before via notifications that allow them to check email and review their calendar, along with functions to send texts via pre-set messages, voice input, emoticons and a keypad. Along with 3G connectivity and an e-SIM card—a first for a wearable device—all of this is possible straight from the user’s wrist.

Thanks to the device’s quick and convenient communication features, consumers will have more time to focus on more important things, such as health and fitness. The Gear S2 has been designed with this in mind, and includes a number of sensors and improved tracking functions to monitor activity progress throughout the day, which is illustrated on a circular timeline. And, in a time when it’s more difficult than ever to stick to a fitness plan, the Gear S2 acts as a personal trainer (minus the hefty monthly fees) by sending messages of motivation when users have been inactive for a period of time, and praise when it recognizes that users have been exercising.

With the Gear S2’s embedded NFC (Near Field Communication) technology, wallets can be left at home, as users can process payments with a tap on an NFC reader. Furthermore, Samsung is working with a number of partners across a variety of industries to expand the usability of wearables, from smart car keys to hotel room keys and remote controls.

These innovative, connected features are powered by a battery that can last two to three days, keeping users constantly connected without having to worry about the next charge.

Open Collaboration for Maximum Customization

Although smaller than a smartphone, the Gear S2 still offers the same great access to users’ favorite apps, and through open collaboration with developers and partners, many of them have been optimized for the device’s circular interface. This makes it easy for a user to check the score of the big game, the morning weather forecast, locate a nearby restaurant or see what’s going on in their social circles.

Similarly, a slew of customization features, such as the Design It Yourself watch face, enable users to truly personalize their device to express their own moods and unique styles.

The Gear S2, Samsung’s most progressive innovation in wearables to date, illustrates the power of the circle through its intuitive, customizable user interface and enhanced features that allow for greater personalization.

Earlier this year, Samsung wowed the world when it unveiled the Galaxy S6 edge. The flagship smartphone proved that not only was Samsung capable of producing a device with impressive specs and powerful performance, but also of creating gorgeous design. The design of the Galaxy S6 edge incorporated premium metal and ultra-strong glass, along with a stunning and unprecedented dual edge display.

For the Galaxy S6 edge+, Samsung took the great design and features of the Galaxy S6 edge, expanded its size and power, and introduced high-strength, durable 7000 Series aluminum—1.7 times stronger and 1.3 times more scratch-resistant than the alloy typically used in smartphones.

The Cutting Edge of Communication

With its curved 5.7-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED screen, the Galaxy S6 edge+ makes the edge experience even better than before, enhancing and simplifying the way users utilize their phone. The new “Apps edge,” for example, provides quick and simple access to frequently used apps with a simple swipe of the edge display, easily activated with a tap of the moveable, floating “handler” icon.

Similarly, the improved edge+ continues to enhance the way users connect with their favorite contacts. Whereas the previous version of the phone allowed one to quickly call, message or color-code pre-set contacts using the “People edge,” the latest model enables more enhanced interaction through features in which hand-written memos, emoticons and “pokes,” or vibration sequences, can be sent. These unique, non-verbal communication methods will no doubt catalyze a new way to connect as human interactions become increasingly digital.

Multimedia Like Never Before

In addition to being able to effectively communicate our emotions like never before, we also seek to share the special moments of our lives through images and videos, two forms of media that speak louder than words. As such, Samsung has designed the Galaxy S6 edge+ with loads of features that enhance the way we create, consume and share content.

With improved video capabilities, including “Steady Video,” which provides Video Digital Image Stabilization on both the front and rear cameras, users can film sharp, crisp videos anywhere, anytime, along with smooth and perfectly centered selfie videos. When combined with “Video Collage” mode, which allows one to record and edit short videos in various frames and effects, self-expression is limitless.

Similarly, the “Live Broadcast” mode in the native camera app ensures that life’s most memorable experiences can be shared in real-time by allowing users to directly live-stream Full HD video from their camera to any individual, group of contacts, or the public via YouTube.

Effortless Connectivity

Improved connectivity is another major feature of the latest addition to Samsung’s Galaxy S lineup. In fact, the phone has been upgraded to support SideSync, to allow for seamless cross-device connections. Easy installation and automatic connection between devices make tasks like accessing files or instantly responding to phone notifications on a PC as easy as a tap of a button.

This same effortless connectivity is also possible with Samsung Pay, a simple, safe and ubiquitous mobile payment system that will be available soon in Korea (on August 20) and the United States (on September 28), soon followed by U.K., Spain and China, as well.. In addition to being convenient, the service is a far cooler alternative to paying bills than toting around a bulky wallet.

Although the Galaxy S6 edge proved to be one of the fastest charging phones on the market, Samsung has increased charging speed even more with its latest product launch. So, whether you’re spending the day shopping, live broadcasting, chatting with friends, or doing all three, you can rest assured knowing that a full charge is only 90 minutes away with wired charging. In addition, you can charge the new device in approximately 120 minutes through Samsung’s latest wireless charger.

With impressive multimedia properties, seamless connectivity options and features that anticipate the communication trends of tomorrow, the Galaxy S6 edge+ promises to add value to the industry without sacrificing design.

When the revolutionary Galaxy Note was first released in 2011, the device set a new standard in smartphone culture, setting a high bar for all up-sized mobiles that would soon follow. Since then, the Galaxy Note series has expanded and improved with each new model; now, the Galaxy Note5, the latest addition to the series, is also the most carefully and beautifully designed.

Perfectly Portable

As the Galaxy Note has changed the smartphone from a device to consume content to one that can be used to create content, it only makes sense that its aesthetics should inspire. Influenced by the Galaxy S6, Samsung has given the new Note model a facelift, incorporating a harmonious blend of metal and glass into its premium design.

Although its screen size is the same as the previous model’s at 5.7 inches, Samsung has made the Galaxy Note5 a bit slimmer with a narrower bezel and curved back to provide a more comfortable grip so the device can be easily operated with one hand when on the go. The oversized, flat screen is easy to write on and better optimized with a 5×5 grid home screen, allowing more apps and widgets to be displayed in plump square-shaped icons at one time.

The Note5 also boasts faster charging than ever. It can fully charge in just 90 minutes through a connected charger, or 120 minutes with wireless charging through Samsung’s latest wireless charger.

Another portability feature is Samsung Pay, a simple and safe mobile payment service you can use virtually anywhere that cards are accepted. With tokenization, Samsung KNOX, and fingerprint authentication, Samsung Pay provides a secure payment system and reduces the security risks inherent to plastic cards.

The Power of the Pen

What sets the Galaxy Note series apart from its competition is the S Pen, which has also received an upgrade. While the previous version featured enhanced handwriting capabilities, increased pressure sensitivity and support for pivot, speed and tilt, the latest was designed with ergonomics in mind, to be more solid and balanced in the user’s hand. With a “push-pull” design, it also ejects more easily from the device, requiring only a quick click.

The new, more practical S Pen allows for greater productivity, thanks to a suite of new functionality features that let users collect and clip images, and capture and annotate lengthy webpages and documents through the fast-launching Air Command. When combined with Multi Window, tasks such as locating an address on a map or sharing information with a friend can easily be carried out in a fraction of the time.

Furthermore, for those moments when using multiple devices is necessary, SideSync allows for the easy transfer of content from the Galaxy Note5 to a PC or tablet. Effortless installation and automatic connection between devices make tasks like accessing files or checking phone notifications on a PC incredibly easy.

Yet, the coolest of these new features is a function which allows users to jot down doodles and memos on a black screen, without even unlocking the Note. No fleeting idea is ever forgotten with the screen-off memo feature of the new Note5.

Creativity at Its Finest

Sticking to its roots as a device that inspires creativity as well as enhances productivity, the Galaxy Note5 has optimized its multimedia capabilities to allow for more creative and customizable content development.

In addition to being able to launch the camera in less than one second with a double click of the home button, users can enjoy improved video capabilities, including Steady Video, which provides Video Digital Image Stabilization on both the front and rear cameras for sharp, crisp video on-the-go, Video Collage Mode, which allows users to record and edit short videos easily in various frames and effects, and 4K (UHD) video filming. Similarly, the “Live Broadcast” mode in the native camera app lets users live-stream Full HD video to personal contacts or the public.

With such innovative video features, family members and friends that live thousands of miles apart no longer seem so far away from one another. Journalists and filmmakers can cover big stories without having to tote around loads of bulky equipment. Individuals have the means to have their voices heard in an entirely new way.

The features that enhance the content consuming experience on the Galaxy Note5 are just as spectacular. The device boasts the same stunning 5.7-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED screen, which provides true-to-life colors and an immersive viewing experience.

As a more powerful and personal device than ever, the new Galaxy Note5 promises a more enhanced user experience, more immersive multimedia and a greater way to create. Take note—this device has got it all.
