To make this possible, the idea of a smartphone was reimagined from the ground up. The Galaxy S25 Edge’s internal structure features a new mounting system, allowing components to be placed with precision down to 0.1mm.

But the new device isn’t just slim — it’s tough as well. Premium materials, including a titanium frame as seen in the Galaxy S25 Ultra, make up the Galaxy S25 Edge’s robust exterior. Cool Under Pressure

The Galaxy S25 Edge may be the slimmest S series device yet, but there’s nothing light about its performance. From everyday responsiveness to intense multitasking, Samsung’s latest smartphone delivers the same power and speed found across the Galaxy S25 series.

At its heart is the Snapdragon® 8 Elite Mobile Platform for Galaxy¹ – a powerful processor customized by Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. to set new standards for on-device AI processing and daily performance. True performance, however, goes beyond the chipset, especially in a device so thin.

A custom thermal system — featuring a reconfigured vapor chamber 10% larger than the one used in the Galaxy S25+ — was developed to suit the Galaxy S25 Edge’s slim profile. To maintain thinness while efficiently managing heat, Samsung introduced a new “hole structure” — a first for Galaxy smartphones — in which a portion of the front metal frame was removed to allow more direct heat transfer from the application processor to the vapor chamber.

In addition, a precisely tailored thermal interface material helps absorb and disperse heat from surrounding components. The outcome? A phone that stays fast, cool and responsive — no matter the task.

Ultra-level Camera

A hallmark of the Galaxy S25 Ultra is the premium camera experience, and the Galaxy S25 Edge brings that level of performance to a sleek new form. Its dual camera system with wide and ultra-wide lenses includes a 200MP main sensor that captures Galaxy S25 Ultra-level shots with extraordinary clarity, vibrant color and true-to-life detail, even in challenging lighting conditions.

The thickness of the main camera was reduced by more than 10% through structural optimization of the autofocus and optical image stabilization. A two-layer camera housing design offsets the module’s height, allowing the 200MP sensor to sit naturally within the frame without disrupting the phone’s silhouette. The result is a Galaxy camera experience fit for pros, now in a slimmer, more compact form.

Samsung Newsroom spoke with Jiyoung Lee and Hyoungshin Park, Vice Presidents from the Design Team, Mobile eXperience (MX) Business at Samsung Electronics, to learn more about the story and innovation behind the Galaxy S25 Edge’s design.

A Refined Design With an Unmistakable Edge

The Galaxy S25 Edge makes a bold statement with its ultra-slim profile.

“This model represents the most essential form of a smartphone by removing all unnecessary elements,” said Lee, who led the product design.

The device’s thinness is further highlighted by the thoughtful balance of color, material and finish (CMF). Premium titanium, known for both its elegance and durability, is used for the side frame — creating a slim yet sturdy feel while reflecting the design identity of the Galaxy S25 Ultra.

The color palette was carefully refined to emphasize the Galaxy S25 Edge’s distinct form and stay true to the Galaxy S25 series’ luminous shade concept, inspired by the broad spectrum of light. Available shades include Titanium Silver, Titanium Icyblue and Titanium Jetblack.

A one-mass design — visually integrating the frame and back cover — works in tandem with a slimmer bezel to create a seamless, cohesive look that accentuates the Galaxy S25’s sleek profile.

“In designing the Galaxy S25 Edge, we considered color depth and saturation, material integration, user preferences and manufacturing processes,” said Park, who led the CMF design. “This allowed us to express the symbolism and refined identity of the Galaxy S25 Edge while maintaining consistency with the Galaxy S25 series’ overall CMF direction.”

The Intersection of Sleekness and Usability

What does “Essential Design” mean in the context of smartphones? For the Galaxy design team, it is not just about simplicity — it’s about intent-driven design centered on the user.

“During planning, we asked ourselves what new value a slimmer smartphone could offer — instead of focusing solely on how to make the device thinner,” said Lee. “We wanted the design to go beyond first impressions and deliver lasting satisfaction through balance and comfort the moment it is held.”

Guided by an aesthetic philosophy focused on modern and sleek design, slimness became a key element to enhance usability.

“The Galaxy S25 Edge offers a natural one-hand grip that reduces wrist strain during extended use, and the thin bezel allows for a more immersive viewing experience,” she added. “The front is flat while the back has a subtle curve — shaped to feel comfortable in the hand.”

Premium Value Through a Balance of Emotion and Technology

Fitting both high performance and premium craftsmanship into a 5.8 mm frame was a challenge in itself.

“We couldn’t compromise on either the exceptionally sleek design or the powerful 200 MP camera,” said Lee. “To ensure the high-performance camera blended seamlessly into the thinner body, we applied the same CMF from the back glass to the camera bump — making it look like a unified structure. We used the linear camera layout, an integral element of the Galaxy identity, to tie it all together.”

Precision in CMF execution was equally important.

“To apply the same CMF concept from the Galaxy S25 series to a slimmer glass body, we collaborated closely across departments — testing various color combinations and layered finishes right up until launch,” said Park.

The result is a remarkably thin form factor that still delivers the premium look and feel that defines Galaxy.

[Galaxy Unpacked 2025] Highlights From Galaxy Unpacked: A New Era of AI Integration

At the end of the hour-long visual spectacle at the SAP Center, Samsung opened the floor to welcome guests into the Experience Zone hidden behind the main stage. Excitement buzzed throughout the space as attendees explored the innovative technologies packed into Samsung’s latest flagship smartphones. They shared their first impressions, praising the upgraded devices and advanced AI features.

“I’m really impressed with the Now Brief feature. If I’m scheduled to go somewhere in the morning, all I need to do is take a quick look at my phone to be informed on what I have planned for the day,” said Andrea and Geraldine Tshibuabua (@angetwins), an influencer duo of twin sisters from Belgium. “We also love the Galaxy S25’s AI-powered photo editing features, especially the Best Face feature that allows us to pick our best shots in case we blink in some of them. It’s also amazing that we can remove unwanted objects in the backgrounds of photos as well.”

“Audio Eraser is a really great feature that is useful not just for content creators like me, but ordinary people who want to film their kids playing in the playground or themselves singing a silly song,” said Pawel Warzecha (@MobzillaTV), a tech content creator from Poland. “It was fascinating to catch a glimpse of the Galaxy S25 Edge as well,” added the influencer, who also reports for Lounge Magazyn, a Polish lifestyle magazine.

The praise was echoed by a delighted young Samsung Members Star who just graduated from university, majoring in actuarial science. “It’s always an honor to be part of these great events organized by Samsung.
