The LEVEL headset series is expanding with the release of the LEVEL Active, a Bluetooth-enabled headset specially designed for exercise and outdoor activities.

For people on the move, having headphones that fit comfortably is essential. The LEVEL Active can help achieve this with its soft silicon earhooks as well as comfortable wingtips and in-ear eartips. The earhooks wrap over the entire ear, securing the headphones firmly in place, while the wingtips that come in two sizes perfectly match the shape of the user’s ears for a secure fit. Additionally, the in-ear eartips also come in three different sizes, not only providing a comfortable fit but also preventing distractions from outside noise.

The LEVEL Active is also splash resistant, allowing users to work out without worrying about damaging their earphones with sweat. These new earphones feature an ultra-thin P2i nano-coating, which covers the inside of headset and protects it, giving users peace of mind while they participate in their outdoor activities.

Getting started with a new LEVEL Active is quite easy. It can be connected to a Bluetooth-enabled smartphone with a long press of the Bluetooth icon on the controller. On the headphone controller, hold the Bluetooth button and a blue light will flash on the left headphone to let users know that the phone and LEVEL Active have connected. Once enabled, the user can utilize the controller to play/pause audio tracks, change tracks and control the volume.

To gain more functionality and customizability, the LEVEL Active can be paired with latest version of the Samsung Level app. Users just download the app from Galaxy Apps or the Google Play Store.

Once the LEVEL Active is connected to the phone, the user can set up the features and notifications quickly. From the home screen, the app shows Notifications, Active key, User manual and More, along with volume control and battery.

The Notifications menu lets users control what alerts and messages they receive from their phones while wearing the LEVEL Active. For people who just want to exercise with limited interruptions, they can select Settings on the upper right, then select Limit notifications. With Limit notifications engaged, users will only receive alerts for incoming calls and alarms.

The Active key function is where users control how their LEVEL Active headphones monitor their workout. If the user turns on this feature, they can select whether to connect the Clock, Timer or S Health to the LEVEL Active. If S Health is selected, the user can then choose whether to record workout information for walking, running, cycling or hiking.

By pressing the Active Key on the right headphone for a second, LEVEL Active will play back the selected results, including from exercise time and distance, via sound alerts.

Charging the LEVEL Active is also straightforward, with a microUSB connector located in the left headphone. The user just lifts off the back cover on the headphone, revealing the connector slot. When connected to a computer or other device and charging, the LED light on the left headphone shines red. Once fully charged, it changes to blue.

With the release of LEVEL Active, people who want to enjoy their favorite tracks while working out have an option that’s hassle-free and ready to move. Whether someone is a serious runner, a gym rat, or just looking to get a bit healthier, the LEVEL Active fits any level of activity and helps make working out a bit more fun.

Starting August 19 in the United States, the LEVEL Active will soon be coming to Europe, China, Russia, Turkey, Korea and other countries. The Level headset series including the LEVEL U, LEVEL U Pro and LEVEL U Pro ANC is already available around the globe.

Following the release of the LEVEL U and the LEVEL U Pro, Samsung is introducing the LEVEL U Pro ANC headset, featuring powerful active noise cancellation (ANC). LEVEL U Pro ANC will be available beginning this month in the United States, followed soon by Europe, Russia and Korea.

With its powerful ANC technology and two-way speakers, the LEVEL U Pro ANC provides studio-quality sound. Rather than just drowning out ambient sounds around you, the LEVEL U Pro ANC actually picks up those external noises with two external microphones, analyzes them, and creates inverted sound waves to cancel out those noises, reducing the noise going into your ears. The active noise cancellation of the LEVEL U Pro ANC is up to 90 percent effective, reducing outside sounds by up to 20 dB. The result means you can enjoy crystal-clear sound, without the distraction of exterior noises.

And the two-way speakers – with a 13mm dynamic speaker and 13mm piezo speaker – combine to give listeners clear and balanced sound across the entire sound spectrum, from low to high ranges.

The LEVEL U Pro ANC also supports Ultra High Quality (UHQ) audio, delivering 96 kHz, 24-bit sound which is higher in quality than CD audio. With the use of the Bluetooth UHQ Audio (UHQ-BT) codec, users can enjoy superior sound without the need for any inconvenient wires.

The headset features a useful magnetic clasp that keeps the eartips tangle-free and tidy – but it also lets you control your music and calls. To passersby, the Samsung Rock Exhibition held in São Paulo, Brazil, may have appeared to be a regular, run-of-the-mill show last Monday, July 6. Yet, had they taken a closer look, they might have seen that these 30 event attendees were actually a group of people who are visually impaired accompanied by Samsung volunteers, engaged in an open exchange of experiences and perspectives.

In the partnership with the Dorina Nowill Foundation, an organization dedicated to the social inclusion of people with visual impairments, Samsung paired company volunteers with Dorina participants. Together, they visited an exhibition about the life and work of Jimi Hendrix.

For this event, the foundation created the audio guide for the exhibition with support from Samsung. Also, Samsung volunteers provided training on how to use the Samsung Level headset, which is used as a digital docent.

All attendees had a chance to learn about Jimi Hendrix’s talent and passion for music reflected in his style, songwriting and performances throughout his career. All agreed that the exhibition was a memorable experience and the opportunity that brought the two groups together was very unique.

But the experience wasn’t just about a walk through the exhibit. Following the tour, the participants got together to share their perspectives about the exhibition, as well as their partners. It was obvious that all were happy to share their thoughts about the event. “What we enjoyed the most was the time we spent together. It was inspiring to be able to see how some people overcome barriers,” said Felipe Santos, a volunteer from Samsung.

Attendees were satisfied with the Level headset as well. “With the Samsung Level device, I could hear better, but thanks to my partner, the experience was complete,” said Sandra, a member of the foundation. Another member, Andreza, agreed that, “The equipment was perfect and this was an amazing experience. But it wouldn’t be the same if all of you weren’t here with us.”

The Samsung volunteers found that serving as “the eyes” for the group was a moving experience. Not only did they feel they could make a small difference in someone’s day, but they also learned a lot about life and the power of overcoming obstacles — lessons that will no doubt stay with them for some time to come.
