Samsung Electronics today announced its ongoing participation in Mostra Convegno Expocomfort (MCE) 2026, a leading international trade fair for heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC+R), renewable energy and water solutions, to be held March 24–27 at Fiera Milano in Milan. Samsung is showcasing a broad range of HVAC innovations spanning residential, commercial and smart building applications — including, for the first time, a joint display featuring key products from FläktGroup, the leading European HVAC company acquired by Samsung last year.

“Samsung has been steadily expanding its presence in the HVAC industry, bringing new innovations to customers every year,” said Sean Lim, Executive Vice President and Head of the Air Solution Business Team for Digital Appliances (DA) Business at Samsung Electronics. “At MCE 2026, we are showing how our approach translates into better living — and we invite everyone to come and experience it firsthand.”

At MCE 2026, Samsung has organized its booth into dedicated product and service zones — including EHS, WindFree, Chiller and DVM areas, along with a SmartThings service zone — demonstrating how its solutions work together to support a more integrated and comfortable environment.

Next-Generation Residential Comfort With Bespoke AI WindFree Pro

At its booth, Samsung is presenting its latest Bespoke AI WindFree Pro air conditioner, featuring a refreshed exterior design that complements modern living spaces. To elevate everyday comfort, it offers an expanded range of personalized cooling experiences, building on Samsung’s WindFree heritage.

At the heart of the model is Motion Wind — a three-blade system1 that creates seven tailored airflow patterns,2 ranging from powerful Max Wind for rapid cooling to gentle WindFree for draft-free comfort. The two AI-driven modes3 are AI Direct Wind, which follows the user with targeted airflow for immediate cooling, and AI Indirect Wind, which keeps the user comfortable without blowing air directly onto them.

The model also features AI Fast & Comfort Cooling,4 which analyzes indoor and outdoor temperature, humidity and room size to automatically activate the right cooling mode — Fast Cooling for instant temperature reduction, WindFree for comfortable draft-free cooling and Dry Comfort for pleasant dehumidification without cold air. Users can also activate AI Energy Mode via the SmartThings app, which analyzes usage patterns and environmental conditions to reduce energy consumption by up to 30%.5

All-in-One Heat Pump System for Year-Round Home Comfort

In the EHS zone, Samsung is spotlighting an all-in-one heat pump system that combines a single outdoor unit with an indoor unit (EHS ClimateHub) to support space heating, cooling and domestic hot water through both air and water in one integrated system.

The system enables flexible, year-round residential operation, supporting simultaneous functions such as water-based space heating with air heating, water cooling with air cooling or hot water supply combined with air heating — delivering adaptable comfort across seasons. The fully integrated design also enables efficient heat recovery; rather than discharging heat absorbed during cooling outdoors, the system can redirect it for water-based space heating or domestic hot water production — and vice versa. This results in a COP of up to 8.2,6 making it a highly energy-efficient solution for year-round residential comfort.

Strengthening HVAC Solutions for Various Commercial Needs

Samsung is also showcasing a broad lineup of commercial HVAC solutions, including DVM systems and chiller offerings tailored to diverse building requirements.

This includes Samsung’s latest VRF system, named DVM S2+. The new DVM S2+ is equipped with R32 refrigerant in line with global standards, as well as built-in safety measures that ensure peace of mind. DVM S2+ also comes with on-device AI features that add convenience.7 For example, AI Adaptive Control8 adjusts the outdoor unit’s performance based on its surroundings to help reduce energy usage by up to 25%9 under certain conditions.

Another key highlight at MCE 2026 is the inclusion of solutions from FläktGroup, a leading European HVAC specialist whose acquisition has strengthened Samsung’s applied HVAC capabilities — particularly in large-scale facilities such as data centers. FläktGroup’s lineup for the event includes core products such as air handling units (AHUs), chilled beams, fan coil units (FCUs) and other air terminal solutions, demonstrating expanded capabilities across commercial and industrial environments.

Connected Control for Daily Comfort

Samsung is demonstrating how connected services can simplify HVAC management across homes and businesses. Visitors can explore usage scenarios enabled by SmartThings Pro, including streamlined monitoring, integrated device control and energy insights designed to provide comfort and operational efficiency.

Samsung remains committed to expanding its HVAC business globally through continued innovation across residential, commercial and smart building applications. Visitors to Samsung’s booth at MCE 2026 can explore the latest products and connected solutions, engage with representatives and experience Samsung’s vision for smarter, more comfortable environments.

Samsung Electronics, today unveils plans to leverage its industry-leading air conditioning solutions at Mostra Convego Expocomfort 2018 (MCE) in Milan, Italy from March 13 to 16 to strengthen its position in the European HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) market.

The biennially-held MCE is the largest HVAC exhibition in the world, drawing over 2,000 exhibitors and 160,000 visitors from around the world to showcase the latest industry technologies. At the expo, Samsung plans on continuing to promote its revolutionary and unique Wind-Free technology in Europe and will exhibit the full lineup of Wind-Free air conditioner units for both residential and commercial use, including the 1-Way and 4-Way units.

“Samsung is firmly positioning itself as an industry-leader in the global B2B market with our innovative products and exceptional technology,” said Charles H. Park, Vice President of Digital Appliance Business at Samsung Electronics. “We expect to leverage our expertise with HVAC technologies further in the European market with our acclaimed Wind-Free technology and IoT capabilities.”

The Wind-Free technology is one of the most outstanding innovations featured. After reaching the desired temperature with Fast Cooling mode, it then maintains the ideal temperature without any direct wind by gently dispersing cool and still air through micro air holes for a natural cooling effect through Wind-Free technology.

Samsung is also introducing both residential and commercial air conditioners that contain R32, an environmentally-friendly refrigerant alternative, to keep in line with the strengthened environmental regulations in Europe. When compared with the standard R410A refrigerant, R32 has only one-third of its global warming potential (GWP) and is characterized by its high-efficiency even in lower quantities.

Samsung is also displaying customized air conditioning solutions for specific environments at the exhibit by dividing the booth into specific zones: Residence, Office Building, Hotel, and Retail. Various B2B customers will have the chance to see the b.IoT server, Samsung’s unique integrated building management solution, as well as a SmartThings-based smart home that demonstrate Samsung’s vision of connected living.

Samsung also showcased a variety of air conditioning products such as the energy-efficient 360 Cassette, the circular air conditioner that provides even cooling with minimized direct wind. In addition, the small-capacity DVM S Eco HR, which can simultaneously operate cooling and heating in homes or small commercial spaces, will also be on display.

At the Samsung booth, visitors will be able to test the Wind-Free technology firsthand in the Wind-Free experience zone.

With Internet of Things (IoT) technology expanding beyond the home to all types of buildings, Samsung Electronics is at the forefront of creating a new type of “smart building.” As part of this transformation, Samsung is planning to release its Smart Vertical Solution (SVS) system this year, which focuses on improving buildings’ HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) systems.

Why Smart Buildings?

HVAC and lighting facilities generally account for about 70 percent of the total power consumption in a building. And much of that is because of the centralized HVAC systems, which can only turn on and off for the entire building. This is where Samsung’s Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) air-conditioning (AC) products and SVS can step in, turning conventional buildings into intelligent ones, cutting down on energy waste and making our lives more convenient.

Samsung plans on concentrating supplying VRF and SVS systems to five major types of buildings, including offices, retail shops, hotels, campus buildings and residences. Once installed, the SVS analyzes and controls the HVAC system, lights, power supply and machinery in a building to maximize energy efficiency.

The SVS also allows large coffee and fast-food franchises to remotely monitor the HVAC environment in all their independent shops, setting the temperature or turning the lights on and off at their discretion, depending on the season or opening hours of each shop. Should trouble occur in the HVAC system at any shop, the SVS can immediately detect it and allow the user to take responsive measures.

For hotels, the SVS gives guests convenient access to HVAC, lighting, and door-lock controls through the smart TV in their room. This solution also provides the hotel staff an easy way to check the empty rooms, which can save up to 30 percent on energy usage.

Making Smart Buildings a Reality

The smart building is not a concept for the distant future. Samsung has already engaged in collaborations with global hotel chains and franchises, and is conducting on-site tests and inspections to ensure its SVS system will soon be fully functional.

Samsung is also preparing to implement smart facility management for large-scale stadiums and other buildings. The company has signed a contract to supply a customizable HVAC system based on VRF technology with smart facility management for the Brussels Eurostadium, which is now under construction and is scheduled to host several matches in UEFA Euro 2020.

In addition, Samsung is looking to use IoT-based solutions to create smart super-large buildings. The company is applying smart-building solutions to the Warsaw Spire, a 220-meter-high skyscraper due to be completed in 2016. The building will be a next-generation smart building, offering occupants the latest and best conveniences while saving energy through the intelligent analysis of machinery operations and power consumption, as well as the HVAC system and lighting.

Maximizing Synergies Within Samsung

The smart HVAC system works for organic, flexible structures that are fully networked throughout the building’s lighting and electronics—including TVs, mobile devices and computers—to form an intelligent control system. As Samsung has a comprehensive ICT business portfolio that includes HVAC solutions, TVs and digital appliances, mobile devices, network systems and semi-conductors, the company is putting maximum efforts into bringing together its diverse lineup and deep knowledge across a range of electronics to take the lead in the evolution of HVAC systems.

For example, Samsung is supplying Hospitality Management Solution (HMS), offering TV sets and HVAC solutions in a package to gain a larger presence in the hotel market—which is also one of the main targets of the SVS. Because HMS easily turns the typical hotel room into a smart one, it is gaining much popularity among global hotel chains. As Samsung is also the world leader in TV sales to hotels and in commercial displays, the potential for additional synergies with smart HVAC systems is seen in the years ahead.

The Warsaw Spire is another example of Samsung bringing together the R&D capabilities of its different businesses to create an intelligent building. Samsung’s project team is developing a smart building platform which connects everything in a building with IoT technology, and the Warsaw Spire will be the first showcase embracing Samsung’s new platform.

“Conventional HVAC systems, which have lasted for several decades, will completely transform into intelligent ones through IoT technology from this year,” said Brian S. Kim, Director of Digital Appliances Business at Samsung Electronics. “Combining our innovative products and IoT capacity, Samsung will take the lead in making buildings more intelligent with a variety of tools, including the new SVS and smart building platform.”
