Samsung Printing Solutions held its European Printing Partner Summit from 8^th – 9^th June in Budapest, Hungary, hosting over 250 attendees from 22 European countries.

Under the theme of “The Next Big Thing in Printing Solutions,” Samsung presented the company’s strategy, as well as insights on global printing solutions trends, highlighting key developments made over the last twelve months. The summit also highlighted Samsung’s complete product portfolio of smart printing solutions and printing hardware, as well as its Channel Managed Print Services (MPS) + Plus program.

Major achievements for this year include launching the Samsung Channel MPS Print+ Program, which provides simple, automated, low-cost MPS solutions for every Samsung partner, as well as winning the Range of the Year award from Buyers Laboratory Inc. for its leading range of print technology products. The MX7 A3 lineup also showed notable growth in sales.

At the EXPO area, Samsung demonstrated how its innovative printing solutions, including its MPS program, Remote Call (a paid remote service app designed to minimize service visits), the Samsung Smart Printer Diagnostic System (SPDS), and mobile printing, can be used in actual customer scenarios.

The newly launched Samsung Channel MPS Print+ Program especially received a lot of attention as it is expected to enable Samsung partners to create additional revenue streams and manage MPS more effectively.

Samsung Channel MPS Print+ Program will launch in the UK and Belgium this month, and will roll out to most other European countries in the second half of the year.

Samsung Electronics announced that it provides three new software packages related to document imaging solutions through the company’s partnership with Nuance Communications.

The strategic partnership with Nuance, first announced in September 2015, enables Samsung to sell and distribute document imaging solutions within its printing business, including:

• Equitrac—both Office and Express—is a print management software solution that allows businesses to print what they need regardless of location, routing the documents to nearby printing devices through a pull-printing system. Equitrac also reduces IT complexities by removing dependencies on print servers, print drivers and complex print fleets.
• AutoStore is an electronic document capture solution that automatically recognizes and stores various types of user documents, including PDF files and information captured from multifunction printers (MFP), smartphones, copiers and scanners.
• SafeCom helps consolidate and standardize different types of printing jobs without installing additional print drivers. It can also reduce printing budgets by restricting printer access to only authenticated

Nuance Communication is the world’s leading output solution company. According to a 2015 report by IDC, the company is the largest imaging software vendor in the document/MFP space, with more than 58 percent market share. It has built a relationship with Samsung by providing voice recognition capabilities that ship across a range of Samsung devices.

Samsung Electronics launched its new ProXpress C30 series multi-function printers (MFPs), which feature lower operating costs and high productivity. The ProXpress C30 series is optimized for small- and medium-sized company users, especially in business sectors such as professional services and retail, where printing quality, usability and operation costs are prioritized. The series includes three models: the C3010ND, C3060ND and C3060FR.

“Samsung Electronics has established itself in providing products that offer reliable performance with a low total cost of ownership (TCO) for small- and medium-sized enterprises and workgroup users,” said David SW Song, Senior Vice President of Printing Solutions Business at Samsung Electronics. “With an array of business-efficient printing devices, Samsung will continue to develop a smart office environment that enhances document management,”

Using the C30 series, businesses can effectively reduce the TCO for printing products as it provides high-yield toner cartridges that can handle heavy printing volumes. The operation cost can be further reduced thanks to Samsung’s Instant Fusing System technology, which provides shorter wait times, faster prints and copies, and helps lower energy consumption.

Another key feature of the C30 series is its high-quality graphics. With resolutions of 9,600 x 600 dots per inch and Samsung’s Rendering engine for Clean Pages (ReCP) technology, printed, copied and scanned documents and images are optimized, with unnecessary details omitted and unclear elements enhanced.

In comparison to the prior series, the C30’s overall features have been improved: printing speed has increased from 26 ppm to 30 ppm, toner yield to 8K/5K and paper capacity to 1,400 sheets. With an 800 MHz dual CPU processor, 50 percent faster than the previous models, the machines’ printing, copying and scanning processes have been accelerated as well.

Any Samsung eXtensible Open Architecture (XOA) embedded devices or selected independent software vendor (ISV) solutions such as Rindale, Scanshare and Cirrato can be easily integrated with the C30 series. Consumers can check the printing information about the C30 series on Samsung Printing Catalog, a mobile print app available for smartphones and tablets to provide user-friendly guidelines about Samsung printers and copiers.

Starting with MSC Meraviglia and MSC Seaside, which will come into service in June and December 2017, respectively, the strategic partnership with Samsung will supply all seven MSC Cruises’ Meraviglia and Seaside generation new builds with digital solutions and devices, including among others:

Visual displays: in-cabin flat screen HDTV’s, public screens and displays, ad hoc digital signage solutions like augmented reality mirrors

Mobile solutions: smartphones, tablets and accessories for virtual reality and 360° digital experience

Medical equipment: expert technology for on-board medical centres

Printing solutions: in support of MSC Cruises’ business needs

MSC Cruises CEO Gianni Onorato commented: “Samsung is the master of technology, and at MSC Cruises we have consistently shown our commitment to both cutting edge innovation and working with best-in-class partners that can support and further enhance the on-board experiences we offer our guests.”

The new agreement was signed today in Milan, Italy, at an international media event at Samsung’s local headquarters, the “Samsung District”.

Samsung Electronics America announced that its MultiXpress 7 Series (MX7) multifunction printer has been recognized by Industry Analysts, Inc., a leading print industry analyst firm, for its ability to achieve one million printed copies and one million scans in under a three-month period. This is the first time that Samsung has been recognized by Industry Analysts for its reliability, which has been shown to be especially important in today’s business environment. The MX7 offers heavy duty, reliable performance for enterprises and workgroup users with heavy printing needs.

The test was designed to evaluate reliability, productivity, scanning and printing technology, Android UI and ease of use of the MX7 Series. Industry Analysts ran the test on five of Samsung’s multifunction printers, ideal for small- to medium-sized businesses and enterprises. These included the MultiXpress K7600GX, the MultiXpress X7600GX, the MultiXpress M5370LX, the MultiXpress X4300LX and the ProXpress M4580FX.

Samsung MultiXpress 7 Proves Its Reliability and Speed

“The MX7 is one of the best machines I’ve ever tested and certainly about the most reliable I’ve ever used,” stated Andy Slawetsky, President of Industry Analysts. “The 60-ppm black and white copier printer MFP ran tens of thousands of pages each day with only one unscheduled maintenance call. It has a massive paper capacity, from both input and output perspectives, and the scanner speed is insanely fast. Recognition was made for milestones; 250k, 500k and 750k respectively. Industry Analysts reported on the following: copy/print first page out time (stapled/non-stapled), PPM Scan speed (simplex, duplex) and time to complete print jobs (DOC, PPT, PDF and large PDF).
