Samsung Electronics announced today that its Neo QLED and Lifestyle TVs have been awarded EyeCare Circadian certification by Verband Deutscher Elektrotechniker (VDE), a leading electrical engineering certification institute in Germany. This achievement highlights Samsung’s commitment to developing technology that supports natural circadian rhythms, promoting well-being and visual comfort.

The certification covers major models across the Neo QLED and Lifestyle lineups, including The Frame and The Serif. Six critical criteria are evaluated when determining when a product is fit for certification: Safety for Eyes, Gentle to the eyes, Flicker Level, Uniformity, Color Fidelity and Circadian Stimulus (CS) index — a framework designed to assess visual comfort and circadian rhythm alignment.

Central to Samsung’s achievement is EyeComfort Mode, which automatically adjusts luminance and color temperature based on time of day and ambient lighting conditions. By simulating natural light patterns, the mode reduces strain during daytime viewing and fosters a restful nighttime environment, aligning with the body’s natural rhythms.

This certification adds to a series of recognitions for Samsung TVs, highlighting their user-centric products and features. The Neo QLED series previously earned VDE’s Circadian Rhythm Display certification, while Samsung’s Lifestyle TVs received Glare-Free verification from Underwriters Laboratories (UL) for reducing visual strain. Additionally, for their exceptional color accuracy, Samsung TVs are Pantone Validated.

Created by four close friends – filmmakers Billy Zeb Smith, Jake Olson, and Zac Titus, and director Derek Bauer – this project saw the team put their all into crafting this beautiful film, which is shot against the dramatic backdrop of Montana’s Northern Rockies.

“Two Yellow Lines” tells the story of a PTSD-ravaged smokejumper who is suddenly and unexpectedly reunited with his estranged teenage daughter. Forced to travel cross country with her on the back of his thirty-year-old Harley, a battle that starts off face-to-face soon becomes more surreptitious.

The two leads are played by a real-life father-daughter duo, Zac and Alexis Titus, and the cast is rounded out by Grant Show, Grant Harvey, Bre Blair, and Frank Collison. Consumers can watch the trailer on Samsung 8K TVs at selected retailers around the world.

Earlier this year, Samsung Electronics debuted its 2021 Neo QLED lineup. Leading business and consumer technology publications have already awarded the lineup top honors, highlighting the televisions’ exceptional picture quality, sound innovations and design upgrades.

Samsung’s flagship 4K Neo QLED TV, the QN90A, received top honors from Forbes in a review that highlighted how the TV’s processing capabilities offer almost three-dimensional detail and a top-of-the-line gaming experience. The outlet noted that “The 65QN90A’s upscaling is almost unfathomably good,” and praised, “the eye-popping beauty of the QN65QN90A’s gaming images.”

TechRadar also praised Samsung’s Neo QLED technology, awarding the QN95A a five-star review and the distinction of ‘Editor’s Choice’. The publication commented that, “Samsung’s first foray into Mini LED is a resounding success, with this Neo QLED TV.”

Techaeris applauded Samsung’s QN800A 8K Neo QLED TV for its “stunning picture quality” and smart features. The outlet noted that “Multi-View is especially useful for gamers” as it offers users new ways to play through difficult levels while taking advantage of top-notch picture quality and processing.

Video Magazin rated Samsung’s QN900A 8K Neo QLED, 966 out of 1,030 points in its review – the highest score the outlet has ever granted in the TV category. The outlet noted: “Samsung proves time and again that you can still achieve a lot of additional quality with technical refinements and elaborate innovations – now with mini-LEDs.” The QN900A was given three awards with distinction in the following categories: Reference, Innovation and Design Tip.
