Samsung Electronics’ tablet offering has taken first place in a new product sturdiness survey from leading German warranty provider company Wertgarantie and statistics giant Statista. Both companies have strong reputations in Germany for providing trustworthy warranty solutions, in the case of Wertgarantie, and verified statistics, in the case of Statista.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 (7 inches) was ranked the highest

First Choice for Repairability

11,140 German tablet owners* were questioned in this independent representative survey titled ‘Tablet repair study 2018’. The results, published in December’s findings report, showed that, of all leading tablet manufacturers, Samsung scored the highest with regards to the durability of their products.

The survey demonstrated that consumers found Samsung Galaxy tablets to be particularly robust and had lower repair costs if damage occurred compared to the majority of other leading tablet brands. Conversely, other tablet brands had several complaints levied against them by consumers regarding the price of repairs, a predisposition for incurring crash damage and the premature emergence of technical issues.

Long-Lasting Durability

The Repair Index includes not only the data from the Statista survey, but also empirical data on tablet durability by Wertgarantie, who provides warranties for all the tablets surveyed. Samsung received excellent grades particularly in the durability category, obtaining an index average of 1.5 points in the ‘latest tablet’ product section – the best score of any manufacturer featured (the lower the score, the better).

The top four spots in the Repair Index all went to Samsung Galaxy tablets. Among the Samsung Galaxy tablets cited, the Galaxy Tab 4 (7 inches) and Galaxy Tab A (10.1 inches) obtained the highest praise, ranking at 1.1 points – well below the industry average of 1.7 points. The Galaxy Tab 3 Lite and Galaxy Tab S2 also received particularly favorable mention. For more detailed information, check out Wertgarantie’s December Repair Index ranking here.

Myleene Klass took to the world’s first upright piano made entirely of Samsung tablets as she brought Christmas cheer to London’s Spitalfields Market.

Passers-by saw classically-trained pianist Myleene unwrap a huge present under a Christmas tree to unveil a piano made with over 100 of Samsung’s newest tablet, the Galaxy Tab S2, before sitting down to tinkle on the tablet ivories, the festive music brightening up a cold dark December morning.

Talking at the launch of the piano, Myleene said; “Nothing makes me feel more festive than gathering around the piano with my two girls. The Samsung Tab S2 piano is a real first and nothing like I’ve ever played before. My youngest has just learned jingle bells and I know she’d love to try it on this piano!”

“Christmas has to be my favorite time of year. Decorating the tree with my babies, helping them open their advent calenders, untagling the fairy lights plus deciding whether a star or a fairy should get poll position on the tree are all part of the fun. I find a tablet is a must for Christmas planning and organising. I’ll be using mine for everything from Christmas shopping to Skyping friends and family on the big day.”

Conor Pierce, Vice President of IT & Mobile at Samsung Electronics UK & Ireland commented; “Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S2 has been designed for those who want a tablet that is ultra slim and lightweight; ideal for helping you explore new content wherever you are, even if that means right in the middle of the bustling Spitalfields market.”

“With stunning AMOLED screens the tablet piano not only sounds great but looks great too, with the screens showing off a fantastic gold Christmas wrapping paper animation. Like the piano, the Galaxy Tab S2 is also available in a beautiful gold design, making it the perfect special Christmas gift for family or loved one.”
