The “crown jewel” of ultra-high-definition content is video. It’s not just about sharp, vibrant image quality; it’s also about elaborate frame-by-frame and pixel-by-pixel work. In a single video, you can see the creator’s careful balancing of contrast and color, as well as the aesthetics that go into every little detail.

This is especially true for “picture quality demo” videos, which showcase the display’s full specs, capabilities and their potentials. When creating a picture quality demo video, it’s all about the details. This is why ultra-high resolution monitor should be used to create elaborate demo content.

Samsung Newsroom met with various artists who are using ViewFinity S9 to talk about how technology affects their creative process and artwork. The art professionals include DEVSISTERS who emphasized the importance of monitors in 3D design; OIMU which delivers the beautiful Korean names of colors; and Mike Perry, who suggests a new perspective with graphics design. In this last installment of the ViewFinity S9 Story series, Samsung Newsroom sat down with CEO and VFX Supervisor Seungmo Kim of RABBIT WALKS to explore how he pushes the boundaries of display.

▲ CEO and VFX Supervisor Seungmo Kim of RABBIT WALKS

Established in 2010, RABBIT WALKS has grown into a professional 3D content studio, having directed over 1,400 commercials, brand films and much more. The professional visual content company is developing various solutions for digital media with its industry-leading technological prowess, specifically in live streaming CG(Computer-generated Graphics) using game engine and 8K or higher-resolution content.

Q. Tell us a bit about your role at RABBIT WALKS.

I oversee content direction and visual effects, with a primary focus on ads and picture quality demo videos for digital signage. For picture quality demo reels, it’s important to understand a display’s technology to make the most of its capabilities. So, I spend a lot of time and effort into understanding monitors while creating demo content. I am checking the picture quality pixel by pixel and making fine adjustments frame by frame to push the refresh rate to its limits. Through this harsh process with a precise directing, I can provide a different kind of visual catharsis to audiences.

▲ An extra-large scale OOH(out-of-home) advertisement created by RABBIT WALKS

Q. What is the role of a monitor in picture quality demonstration?

A picture quality demo video is designed to showcase the full specs, features and capabilities of digital signage. Given that these demo videos for large signages should be produced in ultra-high resolution, the monitor’s resolution matters a lot. The importance of screen resolution increases at trade shows like CES, ISE and InfoComm, where there are larger digital signages, often connected to each other, reaching resolutions as high as 20K.

▲ A 263-inch The Wall All-in-One plays demo content created by RABBIT WALKS at the entrance of Samsung Electronics’ booth at InfoComm 2023

Q. Can you tell us about your recent project using ViewFinity S9?

Recently, I created a wide8K picture quality demo content for a seven-meter display, designed to be viewed from just a meter away. At this distance, even the tiniest pixel can be noticeable, which is why I needed to check every detail and even the slightest noise. With ViewFinity, I found that previews closely mirrored the final product, which was really helpful.

When working on content with ultra-high resolutions, including 8K content and beyond, we often find that our monitors fall short in resolutions. Fortunately, the ViewFinity monitor features a 5K resolution which provides more space than 4K monitors without sacrificing details. It greatly enhances efficiency as it shows more areas. Honestly, it wouldn’t be easy going back to just 4K.

▲ Comparison between 4K and 5K on a working screen. Viewfinity S9 enables users to review 4K content in native resolution while simultaneously displaying neighboring work tabs

Q. What are your favorite features of ViewFinity S9?

I often just carry a monitor when filming outside on small scale productions, but the bright environment and light reflections can get in the way. So, it’s difficult to monitor in real time since it challenges me from checking details on site. More often than not, we would usually check minimally because of this.

The other day, I brought ViewFinity S9 to my filming location for monitoring, and its Matte Display reduced the light reflection and really improved my productivity. And, the screen itself was so bright that I could monitor the results than I expected. Thanks to the ViewFinity monitor, I could handle both filming and editing onsite.

▲ Kim says he enjoys taking Viewfinity S9 to outdoor production sites

Q. What sets the ViewFinity S9 apart from previous monitors?

I love the fact that ViewFinity supports Thunderbolt 4, directly connecting devices to the monitor like a hub.1 I would normally connect a hub to the laptop, and because there are often too many wires, we might accidentally trip over the cables.

Thunderbolt 4 enables ViewFinity S9 charge devices and plug various devices into the back of the monitor. We can connect important devices such as external drives, which was reassuring.

▲ Supporting various inputs, Viewfinity S9 allows for multi-tasking across a number of devices

▲ The Viewfinity S9 has Thunderbolt 4(90W), Mini DisplayPort and USB-C connectivity.

Q. How did ViewFinity S9 change your work environment?

In creating 3D content, CG renders often take a significant amount of time, making it challenging to do anything else at the same time. However, ViewFinity S9 offers the flexibility to engage in other activities, like watching streaming content,2 regardless of ongoing tasks on the PC.

I used to have different monitors for graphic works and watching streaming content. With ViewFinity S9, I can streamline and have one monitor that can be utilized for different purposes. Like me, for those who spend extended hours working on monitors, its versatility is a great advantage.

▲ Kim editing 3D graphics on a Viewfinity S9

Q. Are there any other features you enjoyed using?

Few 5K or higher-resolution monitors can pivot. ViewFinity, on the other hand, can be used both horizontally and vertically, which is very convenient. I recently create a vertical video and the ViewFinity S9’s pivot feature was really helpful. Now, I can see easily view and edit vertical and horizontal content by simply rotating the monitor. These ergonomic features, including height-adjustable stand and tilt capabilities, really help maximize productivity.

▲ Many graphic designers including Seungmo Kim, CEO and VFX Supervisor of RABBIT WALKS, say the pivot feature is very useful for their work

Q. As an expert in picture quality demo videos, what are your thoughts on the monitor?

Having used the ViewFinity monitor, I can safely say I like everything about the monitor. From its brightness and resolution to its vibrant colors. It’s an exceptional choice for creative professionals. A versatile monitor with great specs. I highly recommend it.

▲ “Once you upgrade, it’s hard to step back down.

Creativity lies at the heart of everything we do. It transcends borders and redefines limitations, while cultivating new ideas and bringing them into life. Creatives demand tools that can fuel their artistic pursuits. Tools that translate their dreams and vision into reality. Enter the ViewFinity S9.

As part of the ViewFinity S9 Story series (see part 1 with DEVSISTERS and part 2 with OIMU here), Samsung Newsroom sat down with Emmy-winning artist Mike Perry, whose artistic explorations cover a broad spectrum, from the vivid and colorful paintings to whimsical animations and beyond, to talk about how his ViewFinity S9 fits into his creative process.

▲ Mike Perry

Mike Perry is an Emmy-winning multidisciplinary artist based in Brooklyn, New York. He is known for his vibrant and imaginative paintings that often encourages viewers to see the world from a fresh perspective. His works often feature playful characters, fluorescent color palettes and intricate patterns, transforming everyday reality into a dreamlike landscape that pushes the boundaries of creativity.

Q. Could you tell us a bit about yourself?

Oh, hi. I’m Mike Perry. I’m an artist based in New York. I make all kinds of crazy, fun, colorful things — paintings, drawings, animations — and work with incredible clients. I’m living the dream. It’s bright here, but not as bright as this beautiful monitor. Welcome to my studio!

Q. What role does your monitor play in your creative process?

The monitor is everything. I use it constantly. It’s like a part of my eyeballs. It allows you to see the things you’re making. You can see how they come to life. And you just want them to be as beautiful and true to what’s actually there in the real world.

When I’m making a painting, I use it for the final step in the process. Basically, you know, color correcting and taking different elements to make sure my images feel as rich and true as possible. When I work digitally, the monitor is basically just the same thing as the canvas. The monitor is essential. It’s everything.

Q. What’s the first thing that stood out when you saw the ViewFinity S9?

The first thing that popped out with the ViewFinity S9 was immediately just the color itself. It’s just bananas. I’m kind of obsessed with fluorescent colors. I can’t stop using them. Color is such an important part of my existence. Just look at how rich and bright, lush and gooey the beautiful monitor is. It was just incredible to turn the thing on and just watch it, poof, glow.

I was also impressed with how easy it was to just turn on and use. The benefit of making paintings and being a painter is that I’m not always in front of a computer, so when I just popped it open out of the box, it was easy to put together and turn it on. And it just works.

Q. What does a Pantone Validated1 monitor mean to creatives?

I love Pantone colors. It’s been really great to see how true to life the Pantone Swatches are to the monitor. I mean, the Pantone book is definitely like a color bible. It’s essential. But then, you’re always dealing with the reality of what’s on screen versus what you’re going to print with. You always have to take a leap of faith that it’s going to match up because the digital to print world is so mysterious. So, it’s just been really lovely to know that what I’m looking at is the same as the color on the swatches. It’s incredible.

Q. Speaking of color accuracy, have you tried the Smart Calibration feature? What did you think of it?

I love the Smart Calibration feature.2 It was so easy to use, and the app is so straightforward. You want things to represent themselves in the truest form so that you know what you’re creating is going to translate across multiple platforms and different mediums. I love that I’m able to make sure that the colors are represented the way that I want them to be. That’s such a nice guarantee.

Q. What other features help bring your artistic visions to life?

One of the headaches that is given to digital artists is working widescreen versus 9:16. In normal screens, you can only see a little bit of 9:16 so it’s such a bummer. So, being able to turn the screen and see the image the way it’s supposed to is just amazing!

The Matte Display has been so lovely. The sun comes in the morning and pops through the windows, and it’s my favorite part of the day but it just smashes right into my screen. It’s just been lovely to not have sunlight disrupt my process and not have to step away from my computer while the sun is doing its beautiful thing. I also have The Frame TV at home, so I’m quite used to the Matte Display at this point.

Q. What else can you tell us about your ViewFinity S9 monitor?

Lastly, the camera is great. The angle is really nice and I love this security guard. If I want to talk to somebody, I can jump on, and if not, then I’m free. No one’s watching me.

Q. Would you recommend ViewFinity S9 to other designers?

I find it incredibly important to have a beautiful monitor. Something with a lot of resolution, something that’s going to give me the best that I can get and need for what I’m working on. I’ll just say about ViewFinity S9 that color is good.

“Color” is more than just a design element. It is a profound language that bridges emotions and experiences, allowing artists to create evocative messages that resonate on a deeper level. It is a vital component in the toolkit of any creative professional. Accurate monitors like the ViewFinity S9 provide artists with the ability to see and express color accurately across various mediums, granting them total control over their artwork. This ensures that the final products are aligned with the artist’s original intent.

OIMU Studio, a design powerhouse in Korea, believes that design should act as a “connector.” Their work forges links between the values of the past and present, and between Eastern and Western traditions. Through various projects, including the renowned “Color,” “Nobang” and “Match” projects, OIMU provides these connections to their audience, blending cultural traditions and offering a fresh and modern perspective to elements of the past.

In this second installment of the ViewFinity S9 Story series, Samsung Newsroom sat down with Sohyun Shin of OIMU Studio to explore her inspirations and find out how ViewFinity S9 has become a vital tool in her artistic pursuit.

▲ Sohyun Shin, Founder and Chief Designer of OIMU

Established in 2015, OIMU is a lifestyle brand and design studio known for bridging cultural differences and reinterpreting nostalgic objects with a modern flair. Led by Sohyun Shin, the studio boasts with portfolio of projects that connect various traditional Korean elements with contemporary aesthetics.

Q. Could you briefly introduce OIMU to our readers?

OIMU is a lifestyle brand and design studio, dedicated to celebrating and promoting the cultural values and traditions of Korea through design and content. We are involved in publishing, exhibitions and products as well. One of our most well-known work is the “Color” project, which created over 350 unique color names in Korean. We aim to reinterpret Korea’s rich cultural heritage through design.

Q. Can you tell us about your recent project using the ViewFinity S9?

The “Color” project began with a goal to develop unique color names, typically in foreign languages, in Korean. Recently, we made 100 color name cards for a brand exhibition. As these unique set of colors had precise CMYK values, it was important to express the colors as accurately as possible, to highlight those subtle and nuanced differences. The ViewFinity S9 monitor helped us match our print values to our digital designs, and we were able to prepare the final print as intended.

※ CMYK: A color model used in color printing with four ink plates: cyan, magenta, yellow and key (in many cases, black).

Outside of the “Color” project, we also work with many delicate illustrations, which can appear blurry and unclear at places like print shops with ordinary monitors. ViewFinity S9, in contrast, presented images with outstanding clarity, allowing us to confidently move on with the card designs. I recently underwent LASIK surgery to improve my eyesight. If prior monitors reminded me of my sight before LASIK, the ViewFinity S9 felt like seeing with improved vision after! It has undoubtedly been a transformative tool.

Q. What is the most important factor when selecting a monitor?

Much of OIMU’s work, like any design studio, require attention to details. So, high resolution is essential. High resolution monitors allow us to be more intuitive and help us work on intricate designs by showing the subtle differences in colors and details.

Data processing is key in ensuring that physical prints turn out high-quality. ViewFinity S9 significantly reduces the margin of error during this process. When comparing digital and physical prints, you’ll find them nearly identical. In essence, ViewFinity S9 helps us create higher quality designs.

Q. What are your favorite features of ViewFinity S9?

There were reflections when we were using ordinary monitors, forcing us to use blinds. With ViewFinity’s Matte Display, reflections are minimized and colors are accurate even in sunlight. Now, I can work while enjoying the view and natural light.

Our studio has many windows, so, monitor glare is unavoidable. I like to work with the view of nature.

ViewFinity S9 minimizes glares and reflections, so I can accurately check the colors even when it is bright outside.

Q. How else did ViewFinity S9 change your work environment?

Color temperature is another important aspect in our line of work. With ViewFinity’s Smart Calibration feature,1 we can calibrate precise onscreen colors without additional and often expensive equipment.

Also, ViewFinity S9 is great when I want to take a break from work, since I can watch my favorite shows on OTT streaming apps.2 I also just love this cute remote control.

Q. Would you recommend ViewFinity S9 to other designers?

Designers spend countless hours in front of monitors. To me, ViewFinity S9 stands as an optimal choice for both eye comfort and faithful expression of images and color. If you are a creative professional seeking a premium display, you won’t be disappointed with ViewFinity S9.

As technology continues to advance and becomes more crucial to the creative process, the boundaries of art have grown to encompass digital illustration, animation, motion graphics and more. By blending the capabilities of technology with the beauty and diversity of art, creative professionals are harnessed with the power to make their creations more lifelike than ever before. Samsung Electronics’ ViewFinity S9, a 5K monitor for creatives, has set the standard for high-resolution monitors and empowered creative minds to unleash their best works.

Samsung Newsroom sat down with two 3D designers at DEVSISTERS to explore how the ViewFinity S9 is helping them bring 2D characters to life.

▲ 3D Lighting/Compositing Artist Sangyi Kim (left) and 3D General Motion Graphic Designer Sena Yoo from DEVSISTERS

Since its establishment in 2007, the DEVSISTERS have provided popular games and services centered on Cookie Run IP (Intellectual Property), including a mobile runner game, “Cookie Run: OvenBreak,” and a mobile RPG, ”Cookie Run: Kingdom.” Cookie Run games have a total of 200 million players worldwide. The DEVSISTERS plan to expand their business from mobile games to include PC, console and VR games, as well as TCG, animation and licensing in the future.

Q. Can you briefly introduce yourselves and tell us about your roles in 3D design?

Kim: I am responsible for Lighting — creating natural light and shadows to spotlight 3D characters and objects. I also handle compositing — combining 3D elements and effects from different sources into a single cohesive image. During the Lighting process, I focus on color expression to enhance each character’s personality and charm.

Yoo: I am in charge of marketing content planning for 3D-based Cookie Run, 3D General Motion Graphic Design and Lighting. My major focus is on making 3D characters converted from 2D more dynamic with stories and motion graphics.

Q. What was your most recent 3D creation using the ViewFinity S9? How was the experience?

Kim: As part of a collaborative project with Incheon International Airport Corporation, we recently had an exciting opportunity to create 3D content for the Media Tower in Terminal 1 at Incheon International Airport, to be on display until late August. The project required us to be meticulous as the content is displayed on a 27-meter screen, meaning that even the smallest imperfections can really stand out. Fortunately, the ViewFinity S9 enabled us to review the content and visualize how it would be displayed to accurately identify any aspects that needed to be improved.

Yoo: The Pivot feature was helpful when editing vertical videos as all we had to do was flip the monitor. I was concerned about the possibility of flickering and visual noise while displaying the content at a high resolution at the Media Tower. However, the ViewFinity S9 allowed me to check these issues in advance.

What’s more, it was essential for the Cookie Run characters to have fluid and detailed motions to convey the joy and excitement of travel at the airport. That’s why the ViewFinity S9 was the perfect monitor for this project.

Q. What are the differences between the ViewFinity S9 and other monitors you have used in the past?

Kim: Adding light elements such as contrast and depth is very important as this makes the characters more realistic. The ViewFinity S9 precisely presents colors and light the way it was meant to be seen, ensuring smooth color gradation and avoiding the color clumping common in other monitors.

Another impressive feature is how the monitor precisely displays both the light and dark parts of an image without distorting the color. The difference is visible — the color expression and detail on the ViewFinity S9 is simply superb, and it significantly boosts productivity.

Yoo: ViewFinity is capable of showing the full spectrum of colors even in bright highlights or shadows. That’s the biggest difference I’ve noticed. When we’re applying final touches to the video, we could easily check for whiteout1 or overly dark areas in images with shadows before exporting. We could see the video as it was meant to be seen before playing it on the Media Tower. It helped a lot.

Q. What is the most satisfying feature of the ViewFinity S9?

Yoo: I was satisfied with the ViewFinity S9’s 5K resolution, as poor resolution can reduce the details of an image. Furthermore, the monitor clearly defines highlights and shadows, enhancing the clarity of the content.

Kim: I love the flexibility of the ViewFinity S9. I can move the interface anywhere on the screen, meaning I have much more space to work with. On top of that, the monitor’s Matte Display effectively reduces reflections or glares from lights. I can focus on my work more comfortably without a light shade or a monitor hood.

Q. Are there any other features you want to highlight?

Kim: Many 3D designers prefer CPU rendering rather than GPU rendering as it is more productive. As such, they prefer using monitors with Windows OS. However, I’ve noticed there are few monitors that support both 5K resolution and Windows OS. The ViewFinity S9 is a perfect choice for 3D designers who are looking for Windows OS compatibility.

Yoo: During meetings, we often share materials on a screen. Before, sharing screens was a hassle. But with the ViewFinity S9, we can conveniently share our work wirelessly on anyone’s monitor. Plus, the monitor is an all-in-one product that provides a variety of features for the creative process.

Q. Is there anything else you would like to share about the ViewFinity S9 with designers?

Yoo: For designers, the monitor is a sketchbook and a paintbrush. They need to express everything on a monitor as if it were a sheet of paper. Therefore, a monitor and its resolution are critical factors to consider when working in the 3D art industry. I believe the ViewFinity S9 is an ideal companion for 3D designers, as it supports ultra-high 5K resolution and advances work efficiency.

Kim: I really believe ViewFinity was made with designers and creative professionals in mind. The colors are precise and the monitor is sleek and beautiful. It shines by itself. It gives you a real lift in terms of productivity. I can’t recommend it enough.

1 Whiteout: A phenomenon caused by extreme white areas, making objects hard to identify and distorting the perspective

Samsung Electronics today announced it is expanding its ViewFinity monitor lineup with the global availability of the 27-inch ViewFinity S9 (S90PC model). The launch of the ViewFinity S9 strengthens Samsung’s high-resolution monitor lineup following the introduction of the ViewFinity S8 (S80PB model) in June 2022 which featured an Ultra High Definition (UHD) resolution. The new ViewFinity S9 is optimized with all the tools needed in industries like graphic design and photography and also being named a CES Innovation Award honoree in 2023.

“Our new 5K monitor is designed to deliver the highest performance and best experience for professionals in creative and visual industries,” said Hoon Chung, Executive Vice President of the Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics. “With the ViewFinity lineup, we will provide creatives with top-notch visual experiences, along with the lifelike color clarity and versatile connectivity they need to achieve the best in any project.”

The new ViewFinity S9 offers a 27” screen with 5K (5,120 x 2,880) resolution for a workspace that’s over 50% bigger than other UHD monitors, with exceptional picture and text clarity. It allows for professionals to work on ultra-high resolution content without needing to zoom in, so they can view their projects in 5K while still keeping all their editing tools visible on screen.

With 99% DCI-P31 and 218 PPI (pixels per inch), the ViewFinity S9 provides more saturated and vivid colors with crisper details, perfect for those who rely on visual fidelity.2 Furthermore, a typical brightness of 600 cd/m2 makes it easy to work in nearly any lighting environment. Samsung’s calibration technology helps users achieve the accurate color they want. During production, the monitor’s color is factory calibrated for incredible Delta E <21 accuracy immediately out of the box.3

The ViewFinity S9 uses the Smart Calibration feature controlled with smartphones,4 which is the first in the industry, and users can conveniently customize the ViewFinity S9’s screen for precise settings without expensive, complex calibration equipment whenever they want. Using the SmartThings app, users can choose to calibrate in basic mode for a quick and easy adjustment of white balance and gamma settings, or they can use professional mode for complete control of color temperature, luminance, color space and gamma settings. Users can start this process simply by pointing their smartphone camera at the ViewFinity S9’s screen, and after calibration, they can view a report detailing the adjustments made and the Delta E color accuracy.

The ViewFinity S9 also supports its users with TUV-certified Intelligent Eye Care features to reduce eye strain, even over extended periods of use. Additionally, Samsung’s Matte Display limits light reflection and glare on the monitor, minimizing distractions while working.

The visual performance of the ViewFinity S9 is enhanced by features designed to make professionals’ lives easier.

The ViewFinity S9 features versatile connectivity across multiple devices5 with Thunderbolt 4 and mini DisplayPort inputs in addition to USB-C. The Thunderbolt 4 compatibility allows users to charge devices with up to 90W of power and transfer data reliably at speeds up to 40 Gbps.6

The monitor comes equipped with a built-in 4K SlimFit camera that connects via pogo pin without additional cables or equipment. The camera tilts to fit the angle of your monitor, and Auto Framing7 keeps you visible and in-shot, even when you shift position.

The ViewFinity S9’s slim metal design works for any space. With its ergonomic design, this product provides comfort and improves productivity by adjusting to almost any position or posture. A height adjustable stand matches the user’s eye level, and the screen can tilt to match viewing angles. In Pivot mode, the screen rotates 90 degrees, so users can read long documents with less scrolling. With VESA mount compatibility, users can save space and keep desks clutter-free.

Embedded Smart TV apps give users the full TV experience when it’s time to switch to entertainment after work. Instant access to popular streaming apps and shows without a separate PC, built-in speakers with Adaptive Sound+ that automatically adjust noise levels and a remote control make this a well-rounded monitor for both work and play.

The ViewFinity S9 will be available for purchase globally from June 26, 2023, with launch schedules varying by region.

Samsung Electronics today announced the company will introduce new models in its monitor lineup, expanding its visual display leadership for the users.

New offerings in the Odyssey, ViewFinity and Smart Monitor lineups at CES® 2023 will deliver unmatched image quality and a range of innovative features for people looking to work, play and live through their monitor display.

Samsung is revolutionizing the ultra-wide display category by launching the Odyssey Neo G9, the world’s first single monitor with dual ultra-high definition resolution. This innovation is a testament to Samsung’s industry-leading position in delivering the most immersive and lifelike gaming experience available on the market.

“We are introducing the future of gaming monitors with our Odyssey Neo G9, making each game more lifelike with innovative features and picture quality on a new scale,” said Hoon Chung, Executive Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics. “CES is the perfect place to showcase our innovations that can take not only gamers but also graphic designers or TV fans to the next level while providing personalized experiences across a range of integrated smart apps.”

Odyssey Neo G9: The World’s First Dual UHD Gaming Monitor

The Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 Gaming Monitor (Model Name: G95NC) lets gamers see new levels of detail with an unparalleled field of view. The gaming monitor delivers 7,680×2,160 resolution and a 32:9 aspect ratio in one screen for the first time.

Its 1000R curved 57” screen uses quantum mini LED technology with VESA Display HDR 1000 specification to deliver superior imaging in any gaming environment, from shadows to bright scenes. The Matte Display reduces light reflection on the screen, minimizing distractions during the most intense gaming sessions.

It also boasts the world’s first DisplayPort 2.1 support, which transfers data approximately twice as fast as the previously used DisplayPort 1.4. In addition, the new DP2.1 allows lossless industry-standard Display Stream Compression (DSC) to transmit information without distortion.

The Odyssey Neo G9 also supports a refresh rate of 240Hz so that gamers will not miss a thing during fast-paced gameplay.

Odyssey OLED G9: Brighter Whites, Deeper Blacks and Near Infinite Color Contrast

The Odyssey OLED G9 (Model Number: G95SC) is the latest addition to the Odyssey lineup, featuring a dual quad-HD 49” 1800R curved display with a 32:9 ratio. Its quantum dot technology OLED lighting is controlled pixel-by-pixel, allowing a near-infinite color contrast ratio.

The OLED screen illuminates each pixel separately and does not rely on a backlight, allowing a 1,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio while delivering true RGB and true black without color filters.

For smooth gameplay, the Odyssey OLED G9 also features a 0.1ms response time and 240Hz refresh rate to eliminate lagging and skipping.

The Odyssey OLED G9 also uses apps from partners like Prime Video, Netflix and YouTube through Smart Hub, which allows users to enjoy various over-the-top content using an internet connection without the need for a PC.

It is also equipped with Samsung Gaming Hub, an all-in-one game streaming platform that allows gamers to discover and play games in the cloud from partners such as Xbox and NVIDIA GeForce Now without needing a console or to download games.

ViewFinity S9: Smart Color Calibration Designed for Creative Professionals

The ViewFinity S9 (Model Number: S90PC) is Samsung’s newest addition to its monitor lineup. It features a 5K 27” screen for the first time and is optimized for creative professionals such as graphic designers and photographers. Its 5,120 x 2,880 resolution, combined with its wide color gamut of 99% DCI-P3, provides crisp and true-to-form details, and its average Delta E ≦21 color accuracy also produces clear and precise color representation, even in complicated or nuanced visual environments.

The monitor’s built-in Color Calibration Engine ensures precise screen color and brightness, allowing users to adjust white balance, Gamma and RGB color balance for perfect accuracy with their smartphones through the Samsung Smart Calibration application. The Matte Display limits light reflection and glare to minimize distractions while working.

Users can connect cameras and other devices to the monitor through USB-C and Thunderbolt 4 connections to easily transfer gigantic files of high-resolution video or other large data sets from storage devices to their PC.

Smart Monitor M8: Bringing Productivity, Entertainment and Personal Life Together

The Smart Monitor M8 (Model Number: M80C) features stylish and slim design and now comes in a new 27” size in addition to the existing 32” size, both with 4K resolution. It comes in four color options that allow this monitor to fit in any room: Daylight Blue, Spring Green, Sunset Pink or Warm White.

The height-adjustable stand with tilt support gives users the best angle. The screen can now pivot 90 degrees, which helps users view long documents with less scrolling. It also meets VESA mount compatibility standards to help save space and retain a clutter-free environment.

The Smart Monitor M8 can connect, control and manage hundreds of compatible connected devices through the built-in SmartThings Hub, including lights, cameras, doorbells, locks, thermostats and more. Samsung plans to expand device choices and usability by supporting Matter functionality and Home Connectivity Alliance standards from this year onwards.

Mouse control functionality has been added to many of the Smart Monitor’s over-the-top apps, including SmartThings and the Smart Hub, for a new level of convenient control without a remote.

Users can use the Smart Monitor M8 to get instant access to Prime Video, Netflix, YouTube and other over-the-top services through Smart Hub. They can also easily access Samsung Gaming Hub, the all-in-one game streaming platform.

The new My Contents feature provides users with helpful information at a glance. When the monitor is on standby mode and detects a registered smartphone through low-power Bluetooth, it shows the user’s personalized photos, schedule and more on the screen. The monitor returns to standby mode when the phone moves out of range.

In addition, the Smart Monitor M8 is also protected by Samsung Knox Vault, which encrypts personal data and keeps stored files and information isolated from the device’s main operating system to safeguard it from attacks.
