The curved Quantum dot displays presented at CES, including the new CH711 and the previously released CFG70 and CF791 gaming monitors, emphasize brilliant design and rich color to foster an immersive and realistic viewing experience.

• Samsung’s versatile and powerful CH711 caught the attention of the TechRadar staff, who highlighted the display in their roundup of the “Five monitors that lit up CES 2017.”

• Award-winning technology journalist and blogger Paul Thurrott found Samsung’s curved displays “absolutely stunning”, and went on to name the CF791 his choice for ‘Best Curved Display’, and the Quantum dot UH750 his pick for ‘Best Display’.

• Consumer electronics trade magazine TWICE named Samsung’s CF791 a winner in the “Accessories: Computer Peripherals” category of its annual TWICE Picks Awards, which recognize technologies its editors believe will have the biggest impact on their respective marketplaces.

Starting today, users can download the Samsung Gear S app for the Gear S2 and Gear S3 or the Samsung Gear Fit app for the Gear Fit2 on compatible iOS devices* from the Apple App Store. For its achievement, Samsung was formally recognized at an award ceremony on January 6 at the Samsung CES 2017 Booth at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

The EPA first awarded the ENERGY STAR Emerging Technology Award in 2011, and focuses on a different product category or eco-conscious theme each year. For 2016, the EPA recognized Innovative Refrigerant Systems used in ENERGY STAR certified residential and commercial products that aim to reduce energy use and lower greenhouse gas emissions.

As a naturally occurring and climate-friendly refrigerant, R-600a has no ozone depletion potential and boasts a low Global Warming Potential (GWP) rating. It requires less work to be done by the unit’s condenser, which reduces energy usage by 6.5 percent and makes the refrigerator quieter than previous models.

In addition to being recognized for its 2017 refrigerators, Samsung also received the award in 2013 for its eco-friendly DV457 clothes dryer.

The EPA’s ENERGY STAR program is the trusted source for energy-efficient product labeling and consumer education. This award recognizes products that are at the forefront of energy conservation and climate protection.

Samsung developed the R-600a technology ahead of the EPA’s planned changes to refrigerant qualifications by 2021. In addition to meeting these qualifications, Samsung’s R-600a refrigerant has been approved for use in the US market by the EPA’s Significant New Use Alternative Policy (SNAP) Program.

The use of low-Global Warming Potential (GWP) refrigerant systems like Samsung’s R-600a, can offer customers and end-users additional energy savings along with the superior product performance that they already expect from ENERGY STAR certified equipment.

The ENERGY STAR Emerging Technology Award provides forward-thinking, environmentally conscious consumers and end users with a tool to identify and purchase cutting-edge technologies that offer energy savings and help to reduce their carbon footprint

The organization’s theme for this year is ‘All Things Connected’. And as OCF brings together many of the industry’s major players, including Samsung, it showcases how devices from different manufacturers can work well together on a connected platform. The exhibition is being held in Las Vegas Sand Hall from 5^th January to 8^th January 2017.

Although a rapidly growing industry, IoT currently suffers from fragmentation. A wide range of standards stymie cross-sector collaboration, which in turn hinders the industry from establishing a unified legacy.

In theory, the billions of connected phones, computers, sensors, and other devices should be able to communicate with each other regardless of manufacturer, operating system and chipset. OCF was created to make that vision a reality. The organization is creating a specification and sponsoring an open source project called IoTivity to make IoT an all-compassing ‘internet of everything’. OCF already has over 300 members, many of which include household names such as Samsung Electronics. Cooperation on this scale will unlock a huge opportunity in the IoT market, and will help developers and companies create solutions that map to a single open specification and codes.

Putting the Platform into Action

At CES 2017, OCF’s exhibition demonstrates working examples of how a unified IoT platform can provide benefits to users as well as developers and manufacturers. Here, Samsung displays its own products as part of the OCF Kiosk Zone and Demo Zone. Samsung has its own kiosk and is showing products including its robot vacuum cleaner and Gear S3. Meanwhile, in the Demo Zone, Samsung products are being featured alongside other OCF member products in connected platform use cases.

Some might say that a robot vacuum cleaner is in itself a ground-breaking innovation, and indeed it is. But what if it could be controlled remotely from a smartwatch? At the Samsung Kiosk in the OCF exhibition booth, how Samsung Gear S3 can be used to turn the autonomous vacuum cleaner on or off and to change modes on the device is demonstrated. The vacuum is also able to send notifications to the smartwatch to communicate any issues it detects, such as its wheels being stuck.

Grand Vision

A mock living room is set up in the OCF Demo Zone. At the living room, three different scenarios are demonstrated in which various devices can work in tandem as part of a smart home. The first two of these are Leaving Home Mode and Coming Home Mode. Here, a Gear or Windows 10 tablet is used to turn the TV on or off, change the volume and contents on TV as customized by the user, turn the robot vacuum and air conditioning on or off, and control the lights and temperature in accordance with practical experience in smart home. In Movie Mode, the same elements can be controlled to different parameters to create the perfect viewing experience – lights are dimmed, picture and sound setting of TV changes to Movie Mode, and air conditioning becomes wind-free.

But the smart home extends beyond the living room. In the garage that is recreated in the Demo Zone, a Gear S3 changes the settings of a car parked up inside – including its temperature. Also from inside the vehicle, mode of Family Hub 2.0 can be switched to Power Cool, Power Freeze and Ice-making Mode, realizing true convergence of smart home and connected car.

The smart home is just one of the ways that OCF will help bring about a more open IoT platform that benefits all. It will also be used in industrial, enterprise, healthcare and automotive settings. But the basic premise is the same throughout. A collaborative approach to IoT makes sense for all involved. Samsung’s work with OCF and partnership at CES 2017 is an important part of showing what a connected future could look like.

The goal of the Open Connectivity Foundation is to accelerate industry innovation in IoT by showcasing how devices from different manufacturers can work together on a connected platform.

The OCF’s theme for this year is ‘All Things Connected’.

The OCF brings together many of the industry’s major players, including Samsung.

The Samsung products presented at the OCF’s CES 2017 booth illustrated how a variety of devices can work together to create a convenient and connected ‘smart’ home.

The exhibit included ‘connected’ living room and garage setups, and provided specific examples of how a unified IoT platform can benefit users as they go about their day.

Both setups illustrated how connected devices could be set to conveniently automate everyday tasks. Here, Samsung’s Gear S3 is used to seamlessly adjust a thermostat and unlock and put the top down on a user’s convertible.

The Gear S3 was also used to control key functions on Samsung’s Family Hub refrigerator, allowing the user to adjust the refrigeration mode and alerting them when its door was ajar.

In the exhibit’s mock living room, a variety of electronics can be activated and powered off depending on whether the user was leaving, coming home or preparing to watch a movie.

Samsung has always strived to inspire the world and create the future, and Samsung Global Innovation Center (GIC) has been at the forefront of the company’s support for innovation since its launch in 2013. CES 2017 will see the beginning of the next era, as the new name for GIC will be unveiled as Samsung NEXT.

LiquidSky enables high-performance gaming on any device – whether it’s an Android, Windows, Mac or Linux machine. Gamers access a top-end gaming PC using proprietary cloud and streaming technology that delivers low latency and high performance graphics.

Along with the showcase of these outstanding companies, Samsung also announced the creation of the Samsung NEXT Fund – a $150M venture capital investment fund to increase Samsung’s global support of startups. The Fund enables Samsung to further build upon its multi-stage global innovation platform and empower tech entrepreneurs with funding, resources and deep-domain expertise. Through this virtuous cycle, Samsung NEXT will continue to build, grow and scale startups worldwide and empower entrepreneurs to reach the next level.

Samsung created the C-Lab in recognition of the creative, innovative and entrepreneurial talents of its own staff. It’s a program that enables workers to launch novel technologies that could go on to become a standalone success. Although these products are currently still in development, they already show a huge amount of promise.

Tag+

First up is Tag+, the product that will change the way that children interact with their toys. It’s a button-type device that connects to toys and a smartphone app through Bluetooth. Once paired, kids can click, long-press, shake or bump the smart tag to enable various responses from their toys. A click can access extra digital content for a toy, while a long-press could enable kids to share pictures of their latest Lego build, for example.

The developers created Tag+ to extend the life of toys everywhere by marrying digital and physical worlds. At CES, they are showing a live demo of the product and speaking with potential partners.

S-Skin

S-Skin is one of two skincare products on show from the C-Lab this year. S-Skin saves on the time and cost associated with professional dermatological care. It consists of a microneedle patch and a portable device that analyses and cares for the skin.

The patch can penetrate the skin to deliver effective ingredients and enhance absorption. The device can measure the hydration, redness, and melanin of the skin to provide customized skincare using LED light. The accompanying app saves details of the skin’s condition, making it possible to track changes over time. CES is a key opportunity for the creators of S-Skin to share their expertise.

Lumini

Another new product on display at CES is Lumini. Lumini is a portable device that spots skin problems before they happen.

It works by taking a picture of the face. The device analyses the information from the picture with its own algorithm and then sends the data to a smartphone app. The product identifies issues under the surface of the skin, like pimples, freckles, and redness. Lumini also recommends cosmetic products based on the analysis and provides a remote consulting service with a dermatologist or a skincare specialist.

Flying the Nest

As well as showcasing the three new C-Lab innovations, other C-Lab businesses that have spun off are also having a presence at CES. Among them are MANGOSLAB’s Nemonic, a compact printer that prints memos from smart devices to sticky notes; Jameasy, a solution that helps users practice an acoustic musical instrument through a sensor module attached to the instrument; MOPIC, a smartphone cover that helps view 3D content without glasses; analogue plus, a hands-free device for helmet users; and WELT, a fashionable belt for healthcare.

MANGOSLAB’s Nemonic is a compact printer that prints memos from smart devices on sticky notes.

Jameasy helps users practice an acoustic musical instrument through a sensor module attached to the instrument.

Through the use of a simple device that attaches to a phone much in the same way as a protective case, MOPIC enables 3D viewing on the go. No glasses necessary.

The C-Lab initiative is a valuable opportunity for great minds to think freely and create something ingenious. CES is another chance for the businesses themselves to interact with the market. It will also enable them to gain priceless insights that will help shape their products.

The Chef’s Home Cooking event welcomed CES attendees for an intimate and illuminating cooking show in Samsung’s tastefully decorated kitchen.

With the unveiling of Family Hub 2.0 and its latest range of built-in appliances at this year’s CES, Samsung has introduced new ways for consumers to bring their kitchen experience squarely into the twenty-first century.

As the chefs prepared their acclaimed cuisine, they discussed the peace of mind that cooking with premium and reliable appliances brings to the kitchen.

Samsung’s Club des Chefs pairs culinary visionaries from around the world with Samsung engineers to design appliances that foster a more modern cooking experience. This year, members of the Club treated CES attendees to a gastronomic event that showcased the fresh innovations at the core of Samsung’s latest appliances.

After much anticipation, the guests enjoy their world-class dinner, prepared with Samsung’s built-in appliances.

Here, Chef Christopher Kostow, of The Restaurant at Meadowood in St. Helena, California, and Chef Daniel Boulud, the world-renowned chef and owner of several restaurants, including Manhattan’s Michelin-starred Daniel, discuss both their membership in the prestigious Club, as well as what Samsung’s latest kitchen innovations bring to the table.

Q: What made you decide to join the Club des Chefs?

Chef Kostow discussed the joy that cooking at home with family gives him – a sentiment central to the philosophy behind Samsung’s Family Hub refrigerators.

Chef Kostow: It was an interesting opportunity to collaborate with Samsung on their next generation of premium culinary appliances – to provide my insights and experience as a chef to help develop tools that would benefit the home cook.

Chef Boulud is a Club des Chefs veteran and the owner of several restaurants, including Manhattan’s Michelin-starred Daniel.

Chef Boulud: The Club des Chefs is a unique collection of global talent led by one of the most creative, respected and admired chefs, Michel Troisgros. It is where every chef has utmost respect for our profession, and is very open-minded toward the employment of state-of-the-art equipment at home.

It’s very rewarding to be part of this evolution in home cooking, where technology meets tradition and creativity meets practicality, to design for the next generation of home cooks. ‘Club des Chefs’ is basically a seal of approval. If great chefs enjoy cooking with Samsung, everyone at home will, too!

Q: What is your favorite recipe you’ve submitted for the Club des Chefs?

Chef Kostow prepared a delicious meal of prawn toast and pork belly stew with potato flatbread.

Chef Kostow: The Pork Belly Stew and Potato Flatbread is a great recipe for the cold weather months, and when entertaining a large group at home. This dish is very comforting and familial, and uses simple and flavorful ingredients.

Chef Boulud prepares his famous Poulet Grand-Mère, or ‘grandmother’s chicken’.

Chef Boulud: That would be the Poulet Grand-Mère. I personally love chicken in all forms of preparation, but this is a simple yet tasty recipe which can be done as a one-pot meal, where you need the stovetop and the oven to accomplish it.

It captures all the roasted flavors together, and is an easy recipe to do. It is very French to me, but it can also be prepared anywhere in the world. It’s the kind of dish I cook on Sundays for our family meal at home.

Q: What is your favorite Samsung home appliance, and what are some features you’d like to see included in upcoming products?

Chef Kostow: I love the WaterWall Dishwasher; it’s such a smart technology. Also, the Family Hub refrigerator is extremely innovative. As a husband and father of two young daughters, it’s an interactive way to make grocery shopping and meal planning for the entire family more productive.

Chef Boulud: Every appliance is very interesting, as each has a unique function which creates a very comfortable, practical and well-controlled environment for your kitchen.

The fridge, with its many functions and storage units for different foods and beverages; the induction cooktop, where you have the Virtual Flame around the pots which gives you a visual sense of the heat; the oven, which offers dual-cooking functionality, meaning you can bake two dishes at the same time. There’s a lot of logic behind their products.

Both the Level Box Slim Bluetooth speaker and Image Stamp mobile printer add new levels of convenience and fun to users’ smartphone interactions, making it easier to enjoy a favorite song, moment or memory with those they care about.

Level Box Slim: A New ‘Level’ of Speaker

The latest addition to Samsung’s ‘Level’ Bluetooth speaker line, the Level Box Slim features a compact design that provides powerful audio.

The Level Box Slim was designed from top to bottom to deliver more convenience to users’ listening experience. Its highly portable size (148.4 x 79 x 25.1mm, 236g) allows it to be held comfortably in one hand and makes it equally suitable for use indoors and outside. The handy stand integrated into the speaker’s back allows users to prop it up wherever they please, while IPX7 water resistance means it’s built to stand up to rain, snow and morning showers.

In addition to its 8W speaker, which delivers balanced audio in and outdoors, the Level Box Slim also features a microphone that allows users to field voice and conference calls without reaching for their smartphone. The microphone’s integrated noise-reduction and echo-cancellation technologies facilitate crisp and clear communication anywhere.

Image Stamp: A Printer for Your Pocket

Samsung’s Image Stamp mobile printer prints users’ favorite photos whenever they please, allowing them to instantly capture special moments in their lives, such as vacations, parties with friends and family gatherings.

Printing is easy; users simply select a photo via the Image Stamp app and place their smartphone on top of the device, which instantly prints via NFC and Wi-Fi. The printer’s streamlined controls, elegant, book-recalling design and pocket-friendly proportions make it a likewise seamless addition to users’ daily routines.

Unlike other mobile printers, whose 3:2 print ratio generally requires image cropping, Image Stamp’s 16:9 ratio ensures that photos are printed exactly as they’re presented on a user’s screen to a size of 98x56mm in 336 dpi resolution, preserving the snapshots and the memories within them in their entirety.

Users also have the option to print QR codes with their photos that link those who scan them to relevant information, such as when the photo was taken. In addition to photos, Image Stamp may also be used to print customized bookmarks and business cards. Furthermore, printing with sticker paper allows users to create decorative stickers with their photos.

Image Stamp will be available in select markets beginning in early 2017, and in sky blue and pink variations.

A Streamlined Viewing Experience

That’s why Samsung’s Smart TVs feature the Smart Hub platform, which offers a single access point allowing users to easily navigate a diverse range of content, from live TV to VOD and apps. Smart Hub’s latest, enhanced UX delivers a unified viewing experience that streamlines users’ enjoyment of all their favorite content.

Released last year, One Remote introduced a seamless solution for users to control their TV and the multiple devices they connect to it. Instead of having to toggle through different display ports and guessing which device it is, Samsung’s Smart TV automatically recognized the source and identified whether it’s a set-top box, a console, or a Blu-Ray Disc Player, and allowed the user to control them with the One Remote.

SmartView app

This year, Samsung is taking that convenience a step further, bringing Smart TV users access to their favorite Smart Hub features directly through their smartphones.

Compatible with both iOS and Android, the Smart View app looks very much like what you see on the TV which makes it intuitive and easy to use. The app also makes accessing such content simple, allowing users to type the names of their favorite titles using their smartphone’s keyboard. In short, the popular elements of Smart Hub on TV is combined with the familiar smartphone interface for a totally new kind of virtual remote experience.

Together with the Smart Remote’s enhanced voice control across more Smart TV features and One Remote support for a greater range of devices, these enhancements ensure that each user’s content is always easily accessible.

Such precision is possible, in part, due to the CH711’s best-in-class, 3000:1 contrast ratio, which minimizes light leakage across the screen to provide deeper blacks and more brilliant whites. This allows the monitor’s crisp, WQHD detail to truly stand out. The pin-sharp, 2560 x 1440 screen boasts a resolution that’s 1.8 times the pixel density of Full HD, and features a four-layer coating to ensure that its clarity will last.

Paired with the monitor’s Quantum dot technology, which allows, such definition brings content such as movies, broadcasts and games to life, making them that much more engaging.

Built for Extensive Use

Samsung also built the CH711 with a design that provides optimal comfort for the viewer. The CH711’s 1800R curvature is the best in its class, and makes for a wide and engaging view.

The 31.5-inch monitor’s curve caters to the eye’s natural field of vision, and thus allowed visitors standing before the displays to take in each area of the screen at a uniform distance from their vantage point. This design minimizes image distortion across the screen, yielding a clean and uniform picture.

Recent research, including a study conducted by Harvard Medical School, has indicated that curved monitors are in general more visually comfortable than flat displays when engaging in intensive visual tasks.

Samsung is showcasing, at CES 2017, a full lineup of intuitive built-in kitchen appliances designed with equal focus on exciting innovation and exceptional style. The products of the Black Stainless Kitchen Suites introduce new levels of convenience and connectivity to the built-in category, completing a modern collection that’s both stylish and smart.

To properly showcase the premium appliances, Samsung partnered with renowned Italian furniture brand Scavolini to build a modern kitchen exhibit at the heart of Samsung’s CES booth. The kitchen’s sleek and refined aesthetic blends seamlessly with those of the showcased appliances, which include Samsung’s latest cooktops and ovens, as well as a hood, refrigerator and dishwasher.

Visitors to the space are provided up-close looks at exciting innovations designed to create a smarter and more convenient kitchen experience.

Samsung’s 4-Door French Door Refrigerators, for instance, feature FlexZone technology to allow users to customize temperature settings to best suit stored foods. The collection’s WaterWall Dishwasher, meanwhile, features jet-powered technology to eliminate the most stubborn of food stains.

Samsung’s built-in Wall Oven features Flex Duo technology, which allows the two stacked ovens to effectively serve as three independent ovens. This innovation allows users to simultaneously cook two different dishes in the same compartment and at different temperatures.

Also integrated seamlessly into the kitchen setup for visitors’ perusal are the collection’s induction and gas cooktops, as well as a hood. The latter two appliances are presented connected to a Galaxy S7 edge running Samsung’s Smart Home app.

The Hood’s Bluetooth technology allows it to sync with the collection’s cooktops and automatically power on when a connected cooktop is in operation.

The smartphones on display demonstrate how the connected appliances can provide users with useful information, such as the cooktop’s temperature and power status.

Like the rest of the collection, each device is available in a choice of either a black or traditional stainless steel finish – to cater to contemporary consumers’ refined tastes – and each features a proprietary Samsung technology that streamlines the cooking process.

When inspected up close, the built-in products reveal to visitors the level of detail to which Samsung applied the collection’s theme of premium, ‘smart’ design. Each product’s knobs, for instance, are illuminated with a stylish icy blue light that makes their controls easy to adjust.

Speaking of controls, each of the built-in appliances was designed to enable users to enjoy a more connected and streamlined cooking experience. The appliances’ ability to communicate with one another allows users to automate certain steps in the cooking process, and quickly and easily monitor the status of a dish via the Samsung Smart Home app.

The Relationship Between Light and Color

Color is determined by light. Consider rain, for example. Usually, it’s nothing more than water droplets falling from the sky. But, with the right amount and angle of sunlight, it can be transformed into a beautiful rainbow. Televisions, too, utilize light in a similar way to create color.

Lighting conditions can also affect the intensity and vibrancy of color. The façade of a structure, for instance, appears differently at various points of the day and times of the year. This is essentially the idea behind color volume, a measurement that evaluates the way colors in the real world look when different levels of brightness are applied to them.

With better color volume, the elevated brightness of the QLED actually increases the vividness and maintains color integrity.

Color volume is an important factor when it comes to displays. When it is improved, TVs can express a vast range of color—from primary colors to achromatic colors—very vividly and accurately. But to reproduce color volume effectively, a lot of brightness is required.

This is where many displays currently on the market fall short. When their brightness is increased, the color is washed out, and the resulting hues do not represent real world colors.

QLED: Transforming the Picture Experience

To correct this pain point, Samsung integrated a new Quantum dot material into its QLED displays. This new QD material improves luminous efficiency.

By achieving between 1,500 and 2,000 nits, more light is pushed through the Quantum dots, thus driving up the color volume. The increase in brightness increases the vividness of the picture without changing the color. Consequently, scarlet remains scarlet instead of fading to pink, turquoise stays turquoise. And this helps maximize the dynamic colors HDR technology brings.

Virtual Reality (VR) is no longer some distant, experimental technology. It’s here, and it’s transforming the way the world is entertained. At CES 2017, industry leaders have come together to showcase the technology’s latest advancements. Perhaps nowhere is more abuzz with excitement, however, than Samsung’s Galaxy Studio.

The experience zone is best described as a technological playground of sorts, outfitted with four types of 4D simulators that make VR more exciting and dynamic than ever before.

A recently unveiled gyro takes participants on a 360-degree race through space, while a module sends thrill-seekers on an exhilarating ride down a skeleton track. Meanwhile, attendees experience an airshow from a pilot’s perspective via a 4D chair, and a newly introduced Sway simulator takes viewers on a scenic boat ride. The devices offer an adrenaline rush that is sure to leave just about everyone with a smile on their face.

“This is not my first time to try out virtual reality,” said a CES attendee who participated in the airshow simulation. “But this is definitely my first time to experience virtual reality like this. Too cool!”

The Samsung Galaxy Studio also gives CES attendees the opportunity to participate in a unique, 4D interactive game that puts the viewer in the middle of a giant robot war. Utilizing a variety of sensors and cameras, the game enables viewers to virtually become one of the robots and throw items at their opponent to gain points.

Tim Baxter, President of Samsung Electronics America, kicked off the press conference by sharing the company’s commitment to reaching higher for customers in 2017. He outlined three key areas of focus for 2017: developing technology that fits the lives of consumers, infusing elegant and thoughtful design into all Samsung products and continuing to build on the company’s leadership in IoT.

Joe Stinziano, EVP at Samsung Electronics America, introduced Samsung’s new QLED TV and Quantum Dot Curved Monitor, as well as the latest innovations in audio technology. Won Jin Lee, EVP at Samsung Electronics, highlighted how Samsung is leading the industry in aligning the TV experience to customers’ daily lives by introducing voice control enhancements to the Samsung Smart TV remote, and more personalized TV discovery options, particularly for 4K HDR content.

John Herrington, SVP at Samsung Electronics America, presented the new FlexWash & FlexDry laundry system and built-in premium kitchen appliances, which will bring unparalleled flexibility and choice to home appliances. He also unveiled the expansion of Samsung’s hugely successful Family Hub refrigerator series and updates to the Family Hub platform.

Alanna Cotton, VP at Samsung Electronics America, introduced the company’s newest wearable and mobile products, including the Gear S3 with LTE connectivity and the next generation of the Samsung Chromebook Plus designed for Google Play. She also introduced the new Samsung Notebook 9 for Windows users, as well as Samsung’s first-ever gaming laptop, the Notebook Odyssey.

Featuring incredible advancements in the development of Quantum dot technology, Samsung unveiled the 75-inch Q8C QLED TV, which adds new metal material to nano-sized semiconductor quantum dots to deliver the perfect mix of light and color currently available in display technology. The result is a stunning large-screen QLED TV, with an incredibly accurate and precise picture that can be viewed from any angle or in any environment.

Samsung QLED TV takes Quantum dot technology to new heights with advanced light efficiency and stability, as well as a wider color spectrum than ever before. The new QLED TV also features truly deep black levels, perfect 100% color volume when measured with DCI perfect match, and HDR optimal brightness of 1,500 – 2,000 nits. Samsung QLED TV’s new panel design also reduces reflection so consumers can see every bold detail with unbelievable levels of contrast. Finally, QLED delivers this level of performance regardless of where one is sitting, with consistent color and picture quality from any viewing angle.

The practically invisible optical cable helps to solve the issue of unsightly cords and clutter that can be found in the home with a sleek, single cord system. Additional accessories include the optional “No-Gap Wall Mount,” which makes mounting a TV flush against the wall simpler and faster than ever before. Finally, for those who desire a variety of stylish options when displaying their TV, Samsung introduced two new optional elegant TV stands – Gravity and Studio – that appeal to the consumer who prefers an un-mounted TV.

In addition to the new TVs, Samsung also detailed plans to deliver a more unified experience for customers using various services and devices. Last year’s hit Samsung One Remote has been enhanced to support even more devices and offer voice control capabilities across more Smart TV features. And Samsung SmartView app – available on Android and iOS – allow users to get their personalized SmartHub experience right on their phone, as well as notifications of new content even when the user’s TV is off.

New to the Smart TV experience in 2017 is the Samsung Sports service. The Sports Service ensures that sports fans will never miss a moment, with customizable content and alerts based on a user’s team preferences, powered by real-time partnerships with the biggest content players in sports today.

Rounding out this year’s new Smart TV portfolio of offerings, Samsung has extended its popular global service, TV PLUS, to the U.S. market. A new entertainment app exclusively available on Samsung Smart TVs, TV PLUS conveniently brings high quality content into a single app on your TV for the most premium viewing experience. Paired with Samsung Checkout, TV Plus is the fastest way to connect with the entertainment consumers love, right out of the box. In addition, Samsung has also partnered with FandangoNow in the U.S. to bring instant access to rent or buy more than 40,000 movies and shows, including new releases in 4K HDR.

Additionally, Samsung announced their newest lifestyle TV innovation. The new Lifestyle TV offers a sleek, stunning design that was curated with an artful approach. This new TV was designed to appear just like a picture would appear on a wall, outfitted with an invisible cable that allows it to hang anywhere in the home, and blend seamlessly into any living space without those unsightly cables or wires. The Lifestyle TV was awarded a “2017 Best of Innovation Award” at CES 2017 and will be launched later this year.

Samsung showcased its 2017 lineup of home audio visual products, including the new Soundbar Sound+ which features a built-in sub-woofer, H7 Wireless Audio and the latest UHD Blu-ray Player. The products reflect a comprehensive suite of premium features with an eye toward heightened integration, as well as a premium, simplistic design that complements the user experience across multiple devices. Finally, the new Soundbar and H7 feature the rich and detailed sound of UHQ 32bit, which upscales from any source that provides 8-24bit sound.

Unprecedented Flexibility in the Home

Samsung unveiled a truly differentiated line of home appliances to give consumers more flexibility and choice in how they cook, clean and connect.

Bringing more flexibility into the laundry room, Samsung introduced FlexWash + FlexDry to meet the needs of today’s busy families. FlexWash is equipped with a 5.0 cu. ft. capacity front load washer, the largest in its class¹, to handle normal or bulky loads. It adds another cubic foot of capacity in a separate compartment on top for washing smaller loads separately from the main load. Both washers can run separately or simultaneously with different settings.

Meanwhile, FlexDry has the ability to tackle large laundry loads while gently drying a few delicate items at the same time at the top of the dryer. Suitable for items like athletic wear or a silk scarf, the unique Delicate Rack zone adjusts the heat automatically depending on the type of fabric being dried.

Signaling the company’s commitment to investing in categories in which its expertise and innovation can enrich and empower the lives of consumers, Samsung also introduced its line of new smart built-in appliances. This includes a new combination wall oven microwave, upgraded dishwasher, and matching line of premium refrigerators.

During the press conference, Samsung also announced Family Hub 2.0, the next generation of its award-winning refrigerator. Building upon Family Hub 1.0, which was introduced to wide acclaim last year, Family Hub 2.0 expands from four to 10 refrigerator models, so consumers can choose the refrigerator that best matches their household needs. It also features enhanced usability with intuitive app integration and new app partners to help families stay connected, manage food, and access more entertainment features on the refrigerator’s 21.5” LED touchscreen. For added convenience, Samsung’s advanced voice technology has also been integrated across many of Family Hub 2.0’s apps.

Fueling Passions with New Mobile Devices and Computers

This year at CES, Samsung introduced the next generation of mobile computing, with a range of new premium PCs that reflect the company’s commitment to design, craftsmanship, and choice. They include the Chromebook Plus and Chromebook Pro, a 15-inch Notebook 9 with a discrete GPU, and Samsung’s first-ever gaming laptop, the Notebook Odyssey.

The Samsung Chromebook Plus and Chromebook Pro are premium convertible laptops designed for Google Play, and can run millions of apps from the Google Play Store. The new Chromebooks feature a sleek yet durable metal body, and also go from notebook to tablet in a single snap. Samsung Electronics today announced its new QLED TV series – Q9, Q8, and Q7 – during the company’s 2017 product unveiling, held at the Keep Memory Alive Event Center in Las Vegas.

“2017 will mark a major paradigm shift in the visual display industry, ushering in the era of QLED,” said HyunSuk Kim, President of the Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics. “With the advent of QLED TV, we provide the most true-to-life picture on screen. We have been successful in solving for past inconsistencies in the viewing experience and consumer pain points while redefining the fundamental value of TV.”

Samsung’s Best Picture Quality – Ever

With picture quality remaining a top priority for consumers around the world – especially as the average TV continues to increase in size, Samsung’s 2017 QLED TVs represent yet another leap forward.

The new lineup offers dramatically improved color performance, displaying DCI-P3 color space accurately and – in another world first for Samsung, QLED TVs are capable of reproducing 100 percent color volume. This means they can express all colors at any level of brightness – with even the subtlest differences visible at the QLED’s peak luminance – between 1,500 and 2,000 nits.

Color volume presents color that can be expressed at different levels of brightness. For example, a leaf can be perceived as different colors from yellowish green to turquoise, depending on brightness of the light. Samsung QLED TV display can capture even subtle differences in color pertaining to brightness. This kind of color detail cannot be easily depicted in the traditional 2D color space models.

This breakthrough is a result of Samsung’s adoption of a new metal Quantum Dot material – making it possible for the TV to express a significantly improved range of color with much greater detail compared to conventional TVs.

The new Quantum dots allow Samsung QLED TV to express deep blacks and rich detail regardless of how light or dark the scene is, or whether the content is being played in a brightly lit or darkened room. Furthermore, Samsung QLED TV can generate peak luminance as high as 1,500 to 2,000 nits, with no impact on its ability to deliver accurate and impeccable color. With its metal alloy Quantum Dot technology, brightness no longer has to be compromised to boost color performance, which is also maintained regardless of how wide the viewing angle may be.

Committed to Solving Consumer Pain Points

Samsung also used today’s product unveiling to highlight new design features which resolve some of the most significant TV viewer pain points.

“With the QLED TV, we’ve solved problems that everyone —and every home—has experienced; cable clutter, thick wall mounts and a slew of devices sitting right under the TV,” said Dave Das, Senior Vice President of Consumer Electronics Marketing for Samsung Electronics America. “With our 2017 lineup, the focus remains where it should be—the content on the screen —not everything surrounding it.”

The improvements to design and usability in the QLED TV series include a single, transparent ‘Invisible Connection’ cable, through which all of the peripheral devices can be gathered and connected to the TV. This is in addition to the ‘No-gap wall-mount’, which makes it quick and easy to affix the TV flush against the wall. Or, for those who prefer not to mount the TV, Samsung is offering two new stands designed to elevate and showcase the QLED TVs as beautiful home accessories all by themselves. Consumers can choose either the ‘Studio Stand’, which resembles an easel with a painting, or the sleek ‘Gravity Stand’, which when attached to the TV, resembles a contemporary sculpture.

Samsung’s Smartest TV Ever

In 2017, Samsung is focused on the continued evolution of its much lauded Smart TV offering, giving people the simple, unified user experience they want for all their entertainment content – wherever and whenever they want it. For example, with the Samsung Smart Remote, consumers can control most connected TV devices from a single source, with one device.

This year, the ‘Smart Hub’ interface has been extended to smartphones through Samsung’s new and improved ‘Smart View’ app, which now provides a comprehensive overview of all available content on the app’s home screen. Thus, consumers can use their mobile device to select and start their favorite live TV programs and video-on-demand services – on their TV, through the ‘Smart View’ mobile app. Consumers can also choose to receive alerts on their mobile devices about their favorite content, regarding for example, show times and availability.

Samsung also introduced two new Smart TV services, including ‘Sports’, which shows a customizable summary of a customer’s favorite sports team and its recent and upcoming games, and ‘Music’, which can identify songs as they are being played live on a TV show, among many other features.

Continuing to drive innovation in the connected kitchen, Samsung Electronics introduced its latest edition Family Hub 2.0 refrigerator at CES 2017 in Las Vegas. The next generation refrigerator, building upon Family Hub 1.0 which was introduced to wide acclaim last year, features expansion from four to 10 refrigerator models as well as enhanced usability with improved app integration and diverse new app partners. Additionally, signaling its expansion into new categories, Samsung also introduced its new line of smart built-in cooking appliances.

Successful Family Hub Expanded Across Models

Driven by the success of Family Hub, Family Hub 2.0 will be available across a full range of Samsung’s popular 3-Door and 4-Door French Door models as well as the existing 4-Door Flex lineup, allowing consumers to choose the refrigerator that best matches their household needs.

Key Enhancements in Usability with Improved App Integration and Voice Technology

With the Family Hub 2.0, usability, as well as food management, has been significantly enhanced through expanded and intuitive app integration. For example, users can determine which food items need to be replenished through the internal View Inside cameras. Images of those items can then be added to the shopping list feature, and conveniently ordered through the Groceries by MasterCard app. In addition, the Recipe app, powered by AllRecipes, features recipe readout and enlarged text to make it easier for users to multi-task in the kitchen as well as access recipe content from diverse countries around the world.

The Family Hub 2.0 has also been significantly enhanced when it comes to family communication. An entirely new and easy-to-use interface has been developed to enable family members to create their own profiles using avatars or their own personal pictures. With the 21.5-inch LED touchscreen serving as an interactive digital bulletin board, family members can then, through their profiles and the Family Hub app on their smartphone¹, share photos, access updated calendars, handwrite memos in real time, and post memos from wherever they may be.

For a more convenient kitchen experience, Samsung’s advanced voice technology has also been integrated across many of Family Hub 2.0’s apps. For example, users can issue voice commands to learn the weather and time, add products to shopping lists and order groceries online, manage to-do-lists as well as calendar schedules, in addition to controlling various other apps.

Samsung Brings Innovation to the Built-in Appliance Category

All 20 Samsung refrigerator models, set to be released in 2017, are recognized for the innovative R-600a refrigerant system which meets the EPA’s demanding performance criteria to reduce energy use and lower greenhouse gas emissions. Samsung developed the technology ahead of planned changes to refrigerant qualifications that EPA looks to influence by 2021. Equipped with the advanced technology, the 2017 award-winning refrigerators met the EPA’s new qualifications of a GWP rating below 15 while producing an energy efficiency gain of 5 percent or higher. Additionally, the R-600a refrigerant has been approved for use in the US market by the EPA’s Significant New Alternative Policy (SNAP) Program.

Samsung Electronics today introduces its revolutionary FlexWash + FlexDry laundry system, set to be unveiled at CES 2017 in Las Vegas. This versatile laundry pair was designed to offer two washers and two dryers in one system, giving consumers more choices to do laundry the way they want, in all types of situations. Incorporating a range of core Samsung laundry technologies, FlexWash + FlexDry provides the most advanced, flexible laundry solution to meet the needs of busy modern families.

Within the two machines, each distinct laundry compartment includes unique features to tackle wash day needs. The FlexWash front-loader is equipped with five cubic feet of capacity — the largest in its class¹ — to handle normal or bulky loads. Meanwhile, the FlexWash top-loader adds another cubic foot of capacity and is built to wash smaller loads separately from the main load. To power through big laundry loads, users can operate both washers at the same time with different settings.

To dry fabrics, FlexDry has the ability to tackle large laundry loads with the added flexibility to dry a few delicate items at the same time. Users can lay clothes flat in the unique Delicate Rack zone at the top of the dryer and gently dry delicates with a controlled, heated air flow. The special zone adjusts the heat between room temperature and 95 degrees Fahrenheit automatically depending on the type of fabric being dried. The main dryer compartment also uses Samsung’s MultiSteam technology to freshen and disinfect clothes while reducing odors and wrinkles.

According to Samsung research on U.S. consumer laundry habits, 87% of U.S. consumers surveyed sort their laundry into lights and darks, different fabric types, and degrees of dirtiness, while 70% of consumers surveyed run two or more back-to-back washes. The new FlexWash + FlexDry laundry approach was developed to transform the marketplace as consumers discover a more efficient, more effective way to sort on the fly and tackle the laundry process. The ability to operate all four compartments separately and simultaneously addresses strong consumer demand to wash clothes faster while still keeping items separate.

The new FlexWash washer uses three core Samsung laundry technologies: SuperSpeed^TM, PowerFoam^TM, and Vibration Reduction Technology (VRT). SuperSpeed shortens wash cycles to as little as 30 minutes from the usual 60 minutes, while PowerFoam technology uses an innovative mixture of water, air and detergent to deep clean event the bulkiest items with the power of foam. VRT is engineered to minimize vibration and keep the noise level down.

Samsung Electronics today announces the latest in its innovative and popular line of POWERbot^TM vacuum cleaners, the VR7000. Set to be unveiled at the upcoming CES 2017 in Las Vegas in January, the new unit features powerful suction and slim design — at less than 4 inches tall (97mm), it is 28% slimmer than previous Samsung robot vacuums¹.

Slim New Design, Powerful Cleaning

The new design is aimed squarely at consumers who demand better automated cleaning. According to internal Samsung research, 39% of consumers in North America said they expect their robot vacuum cleaner to reach hard-to-reach places and have enough suction capacity to eliminate the need for manual follow-up cleaning.

Depending on the model chosen, the POWERbot^TM VR7000 ensures thorough cleaning by generating up to 20 watts of suction power while covering areas that hand-operated vacuum cleaners miss, like under beds or other furniture.

The POWERbot^TM VR7000’s Edge Clean Master feature enables the unit to come within a ½ inch (15mm) of the wall. Samsung’s Proprietary UHQ 32bit Audio Technology Delivers Ultra-high Quality Sound

Highlighted across Samsung’s new lineup is UHQ (Ultra High Quality) audio – Samsung’s proprietary technology that enables 32bits of rich, detailed sound from any source that provides 8 to 24bit sound.

UHQ audio has the ability to upscale audio sources to a 32bit output, for both wired and wireless connections. 32bit sound creates audio which is much closer in quality to the original recording than existing HD audio, delivering rich sound that brings each note to life with incredible clarity.

Samsung has also developed its own audio algorithms to perfect ultra-high quality sound by leveraging the intelligence of existing proprietary technology, and tapping the expertise of its U.S.-based, state-of-the-art audio lab.

Samsung audio has applied ‘Distortion Cancelling’ technology which reduces sound alterations by predicting the movement of internal speaker units in advance, and controlling the units to deliver the perfect sound. This effect works well on a woofer, which tends to output a powerful low-pitched sound with a movement bigger and more unpredictable than other speaker units. The ‘Distortion Cancelling’ algorithm can intelligently predict a woofer’s movement, control it, and play more solid and stable sounds at a low pitch.

Samsung’s new sound profile also includes a ‘Wide-band Tweeter’, which expands and broadens the “sweet spot” in any room, widening the area where optimal sound can be heard. The new profile also includes a ‘Crystal Amplifier’ that removes noise so consumers can enjoy the most accurate and precise sound across the widest range.

H7 Wireless Speaker Delivers UHQ 32bit Audio Technology and Stylish Design

Samsung has also announced new standalone sound technology that reflects the needs of consumers who enjoy listening to hi-fi audio – an advancement that is already gaining recognition and winning accolades from the industry.

Thanks to its stunning sound quality, premium design and intuitive user experience, Samsung’s new H7 Wireless Speaker – which offers 32bit ultra-high quality sound performance – received a 2017 CES Innovation Award. This achievement further reinforces Samsung’s leadership in the category, and is emblematic of the future-forward products the company continues to develop.

This award-winning UHQ 32bit audio technology, combined with a bass response going down to 35Hz, delivers a wide sound range across the human auditory field – from high to low frequencies.

Samsung’s H7 Wireless Speaker also reflects superior innovation in design. With sleek, contemporary metal finishes that appeal to even the most discerning consumers, a compact size and a retro exterior, the H7 Wireless Speaker allows music to be a centerpiece of any room.

The design of the speaker also features a more intuitive user experience supported by wheel control. By turning the wheel, users can not only adjust the volume but also select their favorite playlist from their choice of streaming music services.

New Soundbar Delivers Incredible Sound with Less Room Clutter

The new MS750 Soundbar is Samsung’s first soundbar to embed subwoofer performance directly into the primary unit. This ensures that the bass is equalized and crystal clear, while simultaneously de-cluttering the home. With UHQ 32bit audio, the MS750 delivers powerful home cinema sound on premium TVs, without the need for a separate subwoofer.

Overall, the MS750 Soundbar provides a deeper sense of immersion. This is a result of superior up-firing capabilities and overhead sound that uses vertical tweeters with upmixing technology. When paired with the Samsung Smart Remote Control, the room’s home audio is powered by the same device as the TV unit, further simplifying the experience.

The MS750 Soundbar boasts a small but mighty “one body” design that can be mounted onto your TV with one simple connection, no complicated setup, and no extra space needed. This means that the soundbar and TV can be turned on at the same time, simply by connecting the two units with a designated power cable connection, eliminating the need for two separate power cables, and removing clutter around the TV. The wall-mount solution on Samsung’s newest home audio systems has also been improved, with an optional, user-friendly I-shaped bracket connecting the TV directly to the soundbar. A UHD Blu-ray Player That Completes the Ultimate Home Entertainment Experience

The ultimate content player comes to life with Samsung’s new M9500 UHD Blu-ray Player. With Bluetooth® Wireless Streaming Support and Samsung Smart Remote integration across the UHD Ecosystem, this HDR-optimized device creates the optimal UHD viewing experience. And, with the M9500’s new Private Cinema Mode, TV audio can be transferred to personal Bluetooth headphones, adding flexibility for viewing HDR content at any time, despite what else might be going on around you.

In addition, Samsung’s new UHD Blu-ray player automatically sets the TV screen and audio to the optimal level by analyzing the content source being played at the time, such as HDR, Atmos or DTS-X. This means consumers can now seamlessly enjoy the content they want without changing their TV or audio settings.

Further additions to the UHD Blu-ray player in 2017 include improved mobile integration, giving users the flexibility to enjoy their favorite Blu-ray titles on their mobile device. With a 360-degree feature on their mobile device, users can view the 360-degree photos and videos they’ve captured on any TV, right through their UHD Blu-ray player.

Samsung Electronics today announced it will introduce three new Smart TV services at CES 2017, to be held January 5 through January 9, 2017 in Las Vegas. The new services – including ‘Sports’, ‘Music’ and ‘TV Plus’ – will offer personalized content to consumers based on their TV preferences through Samsung’s Smart Hub platform.

“At Samsung, one of our top priorities is ensuring that we are closely in tune with what consumers want and need from their smart devices and electronics,” said Won Jin Lee, Executive Vice President of the Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics. “With that in mind, we continue to innovate our Smart TV offering in order to provide the content experiences that our customers have come to know and expect from Samsung.”

Samsung’s Smart TV ‘Sports’ service will provide sports fans with information on when their favorite teams are playing, where they can watch it as well as scores – all in one navigation page. Instead of having to flip through dozens of channels to find the big game, all details will be curated by the customized ‘Sports’ user interface.

Samsung plans to further expand the range of content offered through the ‘Sports’ service with additional content partners including NBC Sports, UFC and more.

The Samsung ‘Music’ service will allow Smart TV customers to easily search and identify songs on live TV or directly from television programs. ‘Music’ will also make recommendations in the ‘Preview’ section of Smart Hub’s user interface for customers to discover new music and play songs as they please.

The Samsung ‘Music’ service currently offers content from eight music app partners including Spotify, iHeartRadio, Napster, Deezer, Sirius XM, Vevo, Melon and Bugs. The service will be available starting in France, Germany, Italy, South Korea, Spain, the United Kingdom and the U.S.

Lastly, ‘TV Plus’ will offer IP-based channels focused on premium content services through a new Smart Electronic Program Guide (EPG) solution. Samsung customers will no longer have to wait for cable services to offer marathon sessions of their favorite TV shows and can watch immediately just by turning on a TV Plus channel.

Samsung first launched ‘TV Plus’ in South East Asia, is now also available in the U.S., and will be available in Europe in April, 2017. Samsung will partner with Fandango and Rakuten to provide premium T-VOD content in the U.S. and Europe, respectively, and with Funke to A-VOD content in Germany.

Samsung Electronics announced that following the success of last year’s showcase, it will display three more Creative Lab (C-Lab) projects during CES 2017, at Eureka Park.

Created in December 2012, C-Lab is a startup business program that encourages a creative corporate culture and nurtures innovative ideas from Samsung employees. The program supports the development of ideas from all areas of the business.

Projects that will be unveiled at CES 2017 are Tag+, an electronic device that adds extra functionality to kids’ toys; S-Skin, a home skincare and analysis solution; and Lumini, a portable device that checks the inner skin to identify and prevent skin problems.

Tag+

Tag+ is a button-type device that kids can easily use. The device is a digital companion that connects to toys and a smartphone app through Bluetooth LE and introduces intuitive interactions. Depending on whether kids click, long-press, shake or bump the smart tag, the companion application responds accordingly, opening new doors for kids to have fun. With Tag+, kids can have multiple experiences with a toy without losing interest.

S-Skin

S-Skin is a consumer skincare solution that saves time and cost associated with professional dermatological care. It is comprised of a microneedle patch and a portable device that analyses and cares for the skin. The microneedle patch can deeply penetrate the skin to deliver effective ingredients and enhance absorption. The device can measure the hydration, redness, and melanin of the skin to provide customized skincare using LED light. The condition of the skin is saved in the accompanying app to track changes over time.

Lumini

Lumini is a portable device that spots skin problems before they happen. After taking a picture of the face with Lumini, the device analyses the information with its own algorithm and sends the information to a smartphone app. The device identifies issues under the surface of the skin, like pimples, freckles, increased pores, wrinkles, redness, and sebum. Lumini also recommends cosmetic products based on the analysis and provides a remote consulting service with a dermatologist or a skincare specialist.

Since earlier this year, Samsung has been showcasing C-Lab ideas from various areas at major exhibitions. Employees’ ideas are displayed at the exhibitions and the business value of each project is examined based on the public’s reaction, which helps improve the project.

Five additional C-Lab projects that have successfully spun off will be exhibited at CES 2017: MANGOSLAB, a compact printer that prints memos from smart devices to Post-it note paper; Jameasy, a solution that helps users practice an acoustic musical instrument through a sensor module attached to the instrument; MOPIC, a smartphone cover that helps view 3D content without glasses; Analogue Plus, a hands-free device for headgear; and WELT, a fashionable belt for healthcare. They are seeking global business opportunities through CES 2017.

Meanwhile, performance of C-Lab projects that have successfully spun off has attracted attention from the global market. MANGOSLAB’s smart printer Nemonic was awarded CES 2017 Best of Innovation Awards under the Computer Accessories category. Also, WELT has launched a smart belt in collaboration with Samsung C&T’s fashion division and other projects are awaiting official launch during the first half of 2017.

“Ideas from diverse areas from fashion and kids to beauty are being developed based on innovative technology and we will continue to seek for additional ideas across a broad spectrum,” said Jaiil Lee, Vice President of Creativity & Innovation Center at Samsung Electronics.

Samsung Electronics today announced it will unveil its first ever, award-winning Wind-Free wall-mounted air conditioner at CES 2017 in Las Vegas, following the huge success of its floor-standing Wind-Free air conditioner in South Korea. The AR9500M air conditioner has integrated Samsung’s exclusive Wind-Free Cooling technology into its design – providing customers with a cooler indoor climate and optimal energy efficiency without the discomfort of direct cold airflow.

“Consumers will love the cool, efficienct air conditioning capabilities of the AR9500M in their home,” said Byung-Sam Seo, President of home appliances at Samsung Electronics. “And they will really love that they no longer have to deal with uncomfortable, cold air – as well as reduced electric bills.”

The AR9500M provides customers with the ideal condition by maintaining the comfortable room temperature, using Wind-Free Cooling to gently disperse cold air through 21,000 micro air holes. A two-step cooling system which first lowers tempertures in “Fast Cooling Mode” and then automatically switches to “Wind-Free Cooling Mode” creating “still air” once the desired temperature is reached. This approach can also reduce energy consumption by up to 72 percent compared to Fast Colling mode.

Using Samsung’s new Digital Inverter 8-Pole with POWERboost technology, the AR9500M’s motor generates fewer torque fluctuations – reducing the overall energy required and shortening the time needed for the compressor to reach its maximum speed (Hertz).

The AR9500M is also Wi-Fi-enabled so it can be controlled from anywhere through Samsung’s Smart Home app. Users can remotely regulate temperature, adjust settings, receive real time updates about performance and daily energy usage, as well as troubleshoot solutions when a repair is needed.

The AR9500M’s unique Triangle Architecture has a wider inlet which allows more air to be drawn in at once, while the optimal width and angle of the outlet, extra v-blades, and large fan – 22 percent larger than previous models – ensure air is cooled and expelled faster, farther and wider, to reach every corner of the room.

Samsung Electronics’ booth will be open at Level 1, Central Hall Booth #15006 of LVCC from January 5 through 8 for CES 2017.
