Through an open mindset grounded in creativity and adaptability, Mike continues to evolve his approach to performance and recovery, winning three Paralympic medals and multiple World Championship titles. “If it wasn’t for creativity, I wouldn’t be where I am today. After my accident, I had to completely reimagine how I trained and recovered. Alex Hall diversified his career path by establishing a ski film brand that documents urban and backcountry skiing. Off the slopes, his pioneering mindset carries over into filmmaking, where he draws inspiration for his new tricks while avoiding mental fatigue. His ability to blend sports, art and storytelling makes him one of the most creative voices in freestyle skiing today.

Samsung Electronics has been recognized with four Clio Sports Awards, which honor the best in sports advertising and marketing around the world, for its 2024 sport campaign across multiple categories.

The brand won Bronze in the Branded Entertainment/Content (Film) category for its three-part docu-series celebrating the skateboarding, breaking and surfing communities, which premiered in April, on the road to a pivotal moment in each sport’s history.  Produced in partnership with the World Surf League (WSL), Street League Skateboarding (SLS) and the Pro Breaking Tour (PBT), the series explores the iconic subcultures of each sport, their global and local impact, and their shared belief in openness.

The project was a key part of Samsung’s ‘Open always wins’ campaign, which declares that with an open mind, anything is possible, a motto these communities live by every day.

The film featured Team Samsung Galaxy athletes including Paris 2024 surfing silver medalist Jack Robinson (Australia) and bronze medalist Johanne Defay (France), street skateboarding silver medalist Jagger Eaton (USA) and bronze medalist Rayssa Leal (Brazil), and park skateboarding silver medalist Sky Brown (Great Britain).

Exclusively designed for the Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024, the Galaxy Z Flip6 Olympic Edition was a hit among athletes as they connected with family, friends and fans in new ways. Powered by Galaxy: Almost 15,000 Galaxy Devices Utilized by Organizers

Staff and volunteers, the backbone of Games-time operations, kept the Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024 running with a collection of nearly 15,000 Galaxy devices — including more than 7,100 Galaxy smartphones, 2,500 Galaxy Tab series tablets and 5,200 Galaxy Book series laptops. The Galaxy ecosystem’s seamless integration helped deliver a smooth experience for athletes and fans in attendance.

Closer Than Ever: A New View of All the Action With 250+ Smartphones, 360 Days of Testing and Over 100 Experts

Samsung opened the Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024 to millions of fans watching from around the world. In collaboration with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and Olympic Broadcasting Service (OBS), more than 200 Galaxy S24 Ultra smartphones were installed on the boats used in the Olympic Games opening ceremony on the Seine River and the sailing competition in Marseille. Footage was transmitted by Orange through a newly installed, private 5G network and brought fans closer to the excitement.

Olympic rendezvous @ Samsung Experience Pop-Ups: Lifelong Memories for More Than 380,000 Visitors Around the World

Athletes and fans enjoyed Olympic rendezvous @ Samsung pop-up experiences across Paris (Champs-Elysees 125, Square Marigny and Village Plaza) in record numbers. More than 380,000 visitors experienced the latest Galaxy innovations firsthand and learned how Samsung’s technology evolved with the Olympics for almost four decades.

Fans got a chance to meet their heroes with surprise drop-ins from some Team Samsung Galaxy athletes at Olympic rendezvous @ Samsung l Square Marigny and inspiring “Chats with Team Samsung Galaxy” sessions at Olympic rendezvous @ Samsung l Champs-Elysees 125.

As for athletes, they were able to bask in the Olympic spirit at the Samsung experience pop-up space at the Olympic and Paralympic Village, discover how the latest Galaxy AI on their Galaxy Z Flip6 Olympic Edition could help them make the most of their Paris 2024 experience, and indulge in the iconic pin trading tradition, as some of the lifelong memories they will take home with them.

A New Spin on Tradition: More Than 350,000 Samsung Olympic Games Pins Distributed to Fans and Athletes

Samsung Olympic Games Pins truly took over the Olympic rendezvous @ Samsung pop-up experiences as fans of all ages traded pins with one another and took part in a historic tradition. A testament of the amazing spirit of unity that took over the City of Lights this summer, the joy witnessed was truly heartwarming as fans collected keepsakes that will forever remind them of these Games wide open with Galaxy.

Hassan has been chasing challenges her whole life. At the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, she fell during the women’s 1,500-meter race and yet went on to qualify for the semi-finals. She was almost hit by a motorbike while grabbing water at the 2023 London Marathon but went on to win gold at her first competitive marathon ever. The Olympic Games Paris 2024 was no exception. Hassan set the extremely ambitious goal of competing in three consecutive long-distance races over the span of one week.

Samsung Newsroom caught up with Hassan shortly after her epic performance in Paris to learn more about her Olympic experience and find out what drives her.

Q. Competing in three long-distance events at the Olympic Games Paris 2024 was an ambitious choice — but ambition seems to be your trademark. What motivates you to take on these seemingly impossible challenges?

I’m a curious person, and I get bored with routines. Training for something I had already done in Tokyo felt repetitive. I wanted to try something new that no one else or only a few others had done before. It seemed hard, but I wanted to see just how hard it was. That’s what motivated me!

Q. How did you start preparing to compete in all three events? Did you develop a unique strategy to tackle each one?

I always try to be a complete athlete and train for different distances. The marathon was probably the most important event to me at the Olympic Games, so I focused a lot on it. But I gave the other distances the same dedication to be ready for anything.

Q. How did technology support your journey to the Olympic Games Paris 2024? Were there any specific tools or devices that made a difference in your training or performance?

I am often away from my family and friends for altitude training and races, so being able to video call them when I want using my Galaxy S24 Ultra is crucial. I also own a Galaxy wearable device connected my smartphone which is so lightweight that I forget I have it on when running. The device shares insights to help me know and listen to my body better — especially when it comes to sleep, an essential part of my training.

Q. You took the lead in the final sprint and set a new Olympic Games record. How did you feel?

To be honest, it felt like a firework went off in my head. I stayed focused all the way to the finish line, even up to the last 10 meters, because I was afraid of falling. In a marathon, you never know what can happen. It was just pure happiness when I crossed the finish line.

Q. You competed in the marathon just 35 hours after winning the bronze medal in the 10,000–meter race. How did you manage to rest and recover in such a short amount of time?

I knew sleep and nutrition were going to be key from the start — not just in between the 10,000-meter race and the marathon but throughout the entire Olympic Games. I tried to stay away from any distractions and got as much sleep as possible!

Q. It was the first time the women’s marathon medal ceremony was held at the closing ceremony. How did that feel?

To think that millions of people were watching felt very special. It was nice to have my fellow Dutch athletes right next to me on the course, cheering me on.

Q. In the Voices of Galaxy video, you mentioned the importance of maintaining a strong mindset as an Olympic athlete. What are some ways you stay focused and positive?

I always try to be grateful for everything I’ve accomplished. Before the Olympic Games, I was already thankful just to have qualified for different events and to be able to compete. You can’t take everything for granted and simply move on from achievements you’ve worked hard for. It’s important to recognize how far you’ve come and appreciate the progress.

Q. You completed the marathon at the Olympic Games Paris 2024 in 2 hours, 22 minutes and 55 seconds. While this is an incredibly fast time, running for that long still requires immense mental endurance. What went through your mind during the run?

Racing is the most exciting part! I just focused on staying with the lead pack for as long as possible.

Q. Do you have a message for your fellow Team Samsung Galaxy members who are competing at the Paralympic Games Paris 2024?

I am so inspired by the athletes. They know better than anyone else that the human mind is unbelievably powerful. I wish them the best!

Q. What challenge are you taking on next?

It’s a tough question to answer. The Olympic Games are obviously the highest point in our sport, so this was the big goal. I plan to take some time to appreciate everything I’ve done to get here and carefully think of next steps as I return to training!

Q. What’s your message to the next generation who looks up to you and is inspired by your achievements and drive?

Sports are so important. They make you healthier, help you live longer and encourage you to set goals in all areas of your life. Please exercise and try to inspire the people around you to do the same!

Continued Support of the Paralympic Movement

Samsung’s support of the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games follows an 18-year partnership which began at the Torino 2006 Paralympic Winter Games. During this time, Samsung has used its mobile technology to engage and inspire fans and supporters while raising awareness of the Paralympic Movement. The “Dialogue in the Dark” demonstration at Sochi 2014 saw visitors at the Galaxy Studio Olympic Park experience a day in the life of a visually impaired person to help visitors understand the challenges they can experience from their perspective. Similarly, at PyeongChang 2018 Paralympic Winter Games, visitors at the Samsung experience space were able to try the Relúmĭno feature in conjunction with Samsung Gear VR, which helped those with low vision see the world more clearly. Samsung will continue to promote sporting excellence and shared values embodied by Paralympic athletes through its ongoing support of the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.

Championing Team Samsung Galaxy Trailblazers

For the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, Samsung has been supporting its roster of Team Samsung Galaxy athletes. The team of trailblazers, who were selected due to their impact on and off the field of play, includes French blind footballer and Olympic Torchbearer Yvan Wouandji and Paralympians Johannes Floors (para athletics, Germany), Madison De Rozario (para athletics, Australia), Ugo Didier (para swimming, France), Hee-jin Kim (goalball, Korea), Kadeena Cox (para cycling and para athletics, Great Britain) and Desirée Vila (para athletics, Spain). The athletes shared their sentiments regarding Samsung’s support:

• Ugo Didier: “The Paris 2024 Paralympic Games are particularly special, taking place in my home country. Beyond the competition, I want to show that with enough dedication, everyone can compete in sporting events and achieve world-class performances regardless of disability, so I’m grateful to be working alongside Samsung to share this message.”

Opening up Fan Experiences To Put the Paralympic Spirit in Motion

The start of the Paralympic Games also marks the next wave of the popular Samsung Olympic Games Pin Collection, taking place at the fully accessible Olympic rendezvous @ Samsung pop-up experiences at Champs-Elysees 125 and Square Marigny in Paris. Fans of the Paralympic Games can participate in Galaxy AI experiences to complete their collection of 16 specially-designed pins, including four that represent Paralympic sports — blind football, para athletics, wheelchair basketball and wheelchair tennis — to receive a new Galaxy Z Flip6 and a chance to win a round-trip package for two to attend Milano Cortina 2026. Breaking, skateboarding and surfing — along with their communities — reflect Samsung’s campaign theme of “Open always wins” which centers around the core belief that anything is possible with an open mind. In line with this, Samsung developed a three-part docu-series focusing on the new Olympic Games sports.

Chat with Team Samsung Galaxy featured a screening of two of these films — “Breaking Boundaries,” developed in close collaboration with Pro Breaking Tour (PBT), and “Next Wave,” developed in close collaboration with World Surf League (WSL). In the videos, Team Samsung Galaxy athletes and industry legends share their perspectives on the new sports and celebrate their communities.

The moderator kickstarted the discussion by asking Singh about his community back in Derby, England, and what it meant to breakers there for the sport to be part of the Olympic Games. The breaker also discussed his own personal mission of supporting the next generation and helping them pursue their passions against all odds.

“Thanks to the Olympics, now your parents and grandparents will know what breaking is. It’s going to have a huge impact on the community and young kids out there who are striving for greatness,” he said. “Just remember, it’s all about the journey. No matter what life throws at you, stay open to the opportunities it brings.”

As Team France’s Olympic bronze medalist in surfing, Defay reflected on the importance of staying open-minded and embracing new experiences while recounting her experiences surfing in Teahupo’o, Tahiti.

“Paris 2024 has been such an amazing experience. Coming home with a bronze medal is just the cherry on top,” she said. “Surfing has taught me a lot of life lessons, and this was no exception. It’s so unpredictable, you never know what wave you’re going to get. You just have to keep an open mind and give it your all.”

After an engaging discussion with the Team Samsung Galaxy members, El Abadi opened up the floor to fans and media for a special Q&A segment. Choi reflected on the importance of representation in competition and how the definition of success is personal.

“This whole journey has taught me to redefine what success looks like. It has taught me to trust myself, to believe in myself and to love myself,” she said. “I’m so happy I got a chance to compete in these Olympic Games and hopefully inspire young girls out there. As a young girl, I didn’t necessarily have someone out there that looked like me. I hope this will show them that they too can go for it.”

This occasion was the culmination of the #TeamGalaxy Connect program which brought together #TeamGalaxy members from around the world to interact with each other and develop content at Olympic Games Paris 2024 with Galaxy. Samsung Newsroom compiled the best moments from the Open to All Party below — reflecting on the road traveled to Paris 2024 and looking to what lies ahead.

Among the attendees were Team Samsung Galaxy athletes Alejandra Orozco Loza (Diving, Mexico) and Sarah Bee (Breaking, France); #TeamGalaxy influencers including Greysia Polii, a former badminton player and gold medalist; CrosOne from Pro Breaking Tour (PBT), who partnered with Samsung on the Breaking episode of the “Breaking Boundaries” docu-series.

Alejandra Orozco Loza, who just competed in her last Olympic Game and recently announced her retirement from professional diving, found the event to be particularly meaningful. “I’m so happy I got a chance to represent Mexico and Latin America as part of Team Samsung Galaxy,” she said. “I’m so grateful to everyone who supported me throughout my career.”

For #TeamGalaxy influencers, the celebration was an important stepping stone in fostering solidarity.

“Nothing builds a sense of community more than these events, because we can all get to know each other while coming from different backgrounds,” said health and fitness influencer Mayane Sarwat (@maya_sarwat, Egypt).

“We need these types of events to connect with each other, so we can build international relationships, exchange ideas and learn from one another,” said photography influencer Max Muench (@muenchmax, Germany). “The creativity in all of us … it gives us a sense of unity, of creating together as a team.”

For CrosOne, this event was a chance to celebrate Breaking’s Olympic Games debut. “I’ve never been to the Olympic Games,” he said. “This Olympics — this is such a cool experience. Breaking will be crazy. I just know it will be super emotional seeing the b-boys and b-girls on stage. We’ve worked so hard to get the sport to this platform. I can’t wait to soak it all in and cry my eyes out.”

From the Galaxy Z Flip6 Olympic Edition — provided to competing athletes at the Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024 — to interactive programs at the Olympic rendezvous @ Samsung pop-up experiences, Samsung’s innovative technology is creating connections and fostering more meaningful communication among athletes and fans in Paris every day.

One standout Galaxy AI feature in the new Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6 instantly translates real-time conversations and offers live translations when users speak face-to-face through the unique dual screens on the foldables. Since the start of the Olympic Games, the Interpreter feature in Galaxy devices has been opening up the City of Light and helping athletes, volunteers and visitors chat with each other.

“I travel a lot, and sometimes there is a language barrier,” said Team Samsung Galaxy member Wilma Anna Helena Murto (Athletics, Finland) who tested Interpreter when visiting Olympic rendezvous @ Samsung | Village Plaza alongside many other athletes. “This really makes a difference.”

Fans across Paris — who have been lining up at Olympic rendezvous @ Samsung at Champs-Elysees 125 and Square Marigny to experience the latest Galaxy devices — agree as well.

“I can see how helpful the translation feature would be,” said Josefine Christoffersen, a visitor from Sweden who speaks Swedish and English. Since arriving on Saturday, she has enjoyed meeting people from all over the world at her first visit to the Olympic Games.

So far, Christoffersen has cheered on her favorite athletes while watching athletics, beach volleyball and handball. On Tuesday, she tried her hand at the Samsung Olympic Games Pin Master Challenge at Olympic rendezvous @ Samsung | Square Marigny.

Siqi Chen, a student from China, has been living in France for five years. She visited Olympic rendezvous @ Samsung | Champs-Elysees 125 to check out the latest Galaxy AI innovations.

“Since moving to France, I’ve been traveling all around Europe and visiting lots of other countries,” said Chen who speaks Chinese, English and French. “Interpreter is very helpful and convenient in these moments — when I visit Spain, for example, I can speak Spanish using Galaxy AI!”

Kenny Goma, a Samsung promoter at Olympic rendezvous @ Samsung | Champs-Elysees 125, has been engaging with fans and visitors from around the world. Originally from Martinique, he has been living in Paris for 12 years and working at the pop-up experience since it opened in early May.

“People have been impressed when I show them the cover screen,” said Goma. “Even if it’s hard for them to hear, they can read the translation on the screen which is so helpful. They don’t even have to be connected to the network. They immediately recognize the impact, and it’s one of the most popular features here at the pop-up experience.”

The benefits of Galaxy AI are making a difference for the thousands of volunteers who are helping ensure the Paris 2024 Olympics is a smooth and fun experience for all. Emmanuel Mantilla Jr. from the Philippines has been in Paris since July 25 to volunteer at the Olympic Games for the first time.

“My first few days here were a little overwhelming because even though I speak several languages, I don’t speak French,” said Mantilla Jr. who has been stationed at Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines. “People thought maybe I couldn’t help them.”

“But Interpreter has been so helpful — not only for communicating with visitors but also with my fellow volunteers. I’ve been using the feature on my Galaxy S24 Ultra with many of the French colleagues in my volunteer group, and we all love it,” he added.

“There are always a lot of tourists in Paris, particularly on the Champs-Elysees,” said Goma. “But there are even more people here for the Olympic Games. Now, they can celebrate together — whether at the Olympic Games or in everyday life.”

Highlighting Samsung’s latest technology and Olympic activations, Olympic rendezvous @ Samsung | Village Plaza is a space for Team Samsung Galaxy members to create lifelong memories with friends and fellow competitors.

Through the “Travel with Galaxy AI” program, athletes from different countries communicated easily with one another and fans around the world using Galaxy AI’s translation features. Meanwhile, Galaxy AI helped the athletes create perfect portraits by resizing, repositioning and removing unwanted objects from pictures on their new Galaxy Z Flip6 Olympic Edition.  In addition, the athletes traded Samsung Olympic Games pins collected by participating in various missions and quizzes.

“I had so much fun making memories with the Team Samsung Galaxy members inside this space and using Galaxy AI features to communicate in new ways,” said Jagger Eaton.

“Meeting my fellow Team Samsung Galaxy members and communicating without language barriers thanks to Galaxy AI was amazing,” said Yu-bin Shin. “I loved making memories with them during the Olympic Games in Paris.”

Samsung Newsroom spoke with Leal, bronze medalist in the Women’s Street Skateboarding competition, and Eaton, silver medalist in the Men’s Street Skateboarding competition, to revisit some of the ups and downs on their journey to the Olympics and learn how Galaxy was a key part of their experience.

Q. How do you feel seeing street skateboarding represented on a stage as iconic as the Olympics?

Leal: For us skaters, it was very emotional. Seeing the beginning of skateboarding in the Olympics is very cool, and I hope the sport grows even bigger. The Olympics are an important chapter in our story, and I am thrilled to be a part of it. The skateboarding scene had a huge evolution — and the level this time was so much higher than the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020. I am especially proud of all the female skateboarders and thankful for everyone who made this happen.

Eaton: The Olympic Games bring any sport to new heights. It’s amazing for people, especially young kids, to see the creativity, discipline, fear and beauty of skateboarding. If there is one thing I hope that anyone takes away from watching skateboarding on such a big stage, it is to buy a skateboard.

Q. What was the biggest highlight and challenge faced during your competition?

Eaton: Oh my goodness! My biggest downfall was missing the final for the park skateboarding competition by one spot in the 2024 Olympic Qualifier Series in Budapest. That was really hard. My biggest highlight was making a nollie 270 switch backside noseblunt in the street skateboarding competition at Paris 2024 that I’ve never made in my entire life.

Q. What was going through your mind during the competition?

Leal: Man, I was nervous and afraid of not doing well. Yet, I was proud of myself for making it to the final. My tricks and family were on my mind — but the crowd was what moved me the most.

Q. What is your favorite feature in the new Galaxy Z Flip6 Olympic Edition given to all athletes competing at Paris 2024?

Leal: The Auto Zoom feature is awesome. I’ve been having a blast making several social media posts in my room. This feature will help skaters and content creators since we can skate, make videos and take selfies with perfect framing.

Eaton: I love how compact the Galaxy Z Flip6 is. I was worried about having a big phone in my pocket because I knew I would be skating in gym shorts. With the Galaxy Z Flip6, I could just pop it in my pocket and go.

Q. What were you listening to with Galaxy during the competition?

Leal: While I have a lot of songs on my playlist, I choose my music depending on the situation. In the semifinals, I listened to Brazilian trap and rap to give me energy. During the finals, I listened to relaxing music to calm my nerves.

Q. Any words for fellow Team Samsung Galaxy athletes who are still competing?

Leal: Go all out! We know it’s all or nothing, so this is our chance. If we want it, we can do it! Breathe and stay calm because despite everything, we worked hard to get here. Being here is already a victory, so take it easy! I’d also like to say something to Sky Brown from Great Britain — I know a lot of thoughts must be going through your head right now. Just take a deep breath before the first trick and go for it.

Eaton: As Team Samsung Galaxy athletes, we all understand how important it is to never give up — no matter how often we want to throw in the towel.

Q. What do you hope fans take away from your Paris 2024 journey?

Leal: I hope they felt my determination. Even though we sometimes think things are not going well, one moment makes all the difference. Smile, have fun and do what you love. Everyone should remember there’s a first time for everything.

Eaton: Never give up, and never stop trying. It’s so easy to give up when you’re going for an insane goal like an Olympic gold medal. But as much as a gold medal matters, the journey itself is priceless. You will wish to do it all over again.

Sifan’s courage, perseverance and passion have allowed her to achieve a remarkable series of unprecedented feats. At Tokyo 2020, she became the first and only athlete in Olympic history to win medals across the 1,500, 5,000 and 10,000-meter competitions at a single Games — claiming gold in the latter two events.

Throughout her career, Sifan has stayed open to participating in different running events and learning new ways to keep competing at the highest level. The Olympic champion is now setting her sights on making more history at Paris 2024, aiming to inspire hopefuls around the world to run toward their dreams. After all, Sifan knows that anything is possible when challenges are chased with an open mind and determination.

Samsung Electronics, a Worldwide Olympic and Paralympic Partner, today unveiled a new art campaign created by legendary French photographer Raymond Depardon and his son, director and photographer Simon Depardon. The campaign, which is called “Olympic Games Instants Shared #withGalaxy,” is now live across the city of Paris and contains captivating imagery that offers a new perspective to the power of sport. It is one of many ways Samsung is helping to bring the spirit of the Olympic and Paralympic Games to life in the host city as the countdown to Paris 2024 continues.

As a photographer and filmmaker, Raymond Depardon has captured some of the most iconic images of the century, including portraits of the athletes in Olympic competition between 1964 and 1980. The new campaign, which was developed in collaboration between Samsung and the City of Paris, pays homage to Raymond’s renowned work and represents a passing of the torch — as Raymond’s iconic black-and-white, archival imagery is exhibited alongside new imagery from his son Simon, who focused his lens on some of the newest Olympic Games and Paralympic Games disciplines.

The series of images features Team Samsung Galaxy athletes; Sarah Bee (Breaking), Aurelien Giraud (Skateboarding), Mejdi Schalck (Sport Climbing) and Yvan Wouandji (Blind Football) and is currently being showcased at nine iconic Parisian landmarks and city sites including Rue du Louvre, Pont de la Concorde and Rue des Pyramides, until early September 2024.

“I was thrilled to participate in this project because it is the first time ever that my photos are being displayed alongside my father’s,” said Simon Depardon. “The artwork not only features four incredible French athletes playing their sports, but also I wanted to show each athlete’s human character by taking portraits of them at the same time,” Depardon added. “The performance capabilities of the Galaxy S24 are outstanding and opened up so many opportunities for us to create something that fits in artistically with the city.”

From June 24 through September 8, 2024, fans are invited to participate in the campaign by sharing messages of support for Team Samsung Galaxy via a QR code featured on each image. The messages will be shown at Samsung’s Olympic rendezvous @ Samsung | Champs-Elysees 125 and Village Plaza, Samsung’s athlete lounge within the Olympic and Paralympic Village, during the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Mejdi quickly realized that climbing is like anything else in life: there are no ceilings and it’s full of possibilities. Anyone can make it to the top if they stay open to the infinite paths in front of them. He also believes people should always stay open to sharing and learning from others, even those they might be competing with.

Now, Mejdi wants to inspire everyone to always keep an open mind and never set limits for themselves.

Although curiosity and determination motivated him to master the basics, meticulous training and discipline combined with the desire to create an impact made Johannes into the world-class para-sprinter he is today.

As he navigates the road ahead, Johannes wants to change public perceptions of prosthetics, drive discussions within and beyond the Paralympic community and help keep the next generation on track.

At an interactive Paris-themed photo zone, guests can shoot and edit photos to remove objects and reflections.

Celebrating the Olympic Games’ Newest Sports

To celebrate some of the latest sports that will take the stage at Paris 2024, guests can step into the shoes of Olympians for a day and enjoy a mobile skateboarding game or an epic breaking experience with FlexCam on Galaxy Z Flip5.

Celebrate the Games With Galaxy

At the showcase, visitors can check out the Olympic spirit with Paris 2024-themed Galaxy smartphone cases and even download Samsung Galaxy X Paris 2024 The Phryges Themes to customize their phones. Lastly, attendees can create custom phone straps made from discarded fishing nets to unleash their creativity and celebrate the Games in Galaxy style.

The new campaign, which debuted today, brings ‘Open always wins’ to life through the stories of Team Samsung Galaxy skateboarder Aurélien Giraud (France), Para sprinter Johannes Floors (Germany) and breakdancer Sarah Bee (France) and demonstrates how being open enables you to do extraordinary things.

Samsung also unveiled a brand new showcase, Olympic rendezvous @ Samsung | Champs-Elysees 125, which will take Olympic and Paralympic Games fans on an epic journey to Paris 2024 through iconic experiences. They will get to relive the biggest highlights of Games past with Galaxy, and explore Samsung’s latest innovations and create lifelong memories with Galaxy AI.

In creating this showcase, Samsung collaborated with the visionary Pritzker Prize-winning architect Jean Nouvel whose groundbreaking work mirrors the remarkable spirit of Olympic and Paralympic athletes, constantly pushing boundaries and redefining possibilities. Inspired by Parisian Salons from the Age of Enlightenment, the space is designed to celebrate openness to new perspectives and possibilities through reflections and optical illusions that evoke feelings of openness, harmony and connection.

“The entire space is designed to celebrate Samsung’s commitment to openness,” said Jean Nouvel. “The abstract graphic façade captures the reflections of movements and lights that appear and disappear in an instant, while the matte, reflective white mirrors in the lobby invite discovery of latest innovations.”

The Olympic rendezvous @ Samsung | Champs-Elysees 125 was inaugurated with a ribbon cutting ceremony attended by TM Roh, Team Samsung Galaxy ambassadors including French surfer Joanne Defay, UK breakdancer Karam Singh and French Para-swimmer Ugo Didier; Anne-Sophie Voumard, Television and Marketing Services Managing Director for the IOC, Pierre Rabadan, Deputy Mayor in charge of Sport, Olympic and Paralympic Games for the City of Paris and Étienne Thobois, Director General of the Paris Organizing Committee for the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The Olympic rendezvous @ Samsung, located at 125 Avenue des Champs-Élysées, will open its doors to the public on May 3 and run until October 31, from 10:00am-20:00pm Monday-Saturday and 11:00am-20:00pm on Sundays. It will host a series of special events over the course of the summer and will be open to anyone who wants to immerse themselves in the Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024.

Environmentalist and Tongan athlete Pita Taufatofua won the hearts of fans worldwide after his memorable appearance at the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics.

When a historic volcanic eruption devastated his home and sent shockwaves around the world, the Tongan native took to social media with a powerful message to help people in need.

In January of this year, a massive volcanic eruption and tsunami in Tonga caused catastrophic damage to the country.

In order to recover, Tonga needed immediate assistance. He started buying tools and posting on social media to raise awareness of the crisis in his beloved home, using technology to make his voice heard worldwide.

From Athlete to Environmentalist: Small Waves Make Big Waves

Since Tonga is slowly sinking, Pita was inspired to use his platform to speak more openly about environmental concerns. As this planet is our only home, Pita believes that we must all do our part to protect it.

“We don’t have to do things perfectly. We can start with the little things, like cleaning a beach,” said Pita. “Small things will have a big impact on saving Tonga and changing the planet.”
