Samsung approached the Galaxy Note9’s design with equal focus on usability and on empowering users’ expression.

As a result, the latest addition to the Note family is not only easy to use, with its customizable, Bluetooth Low-Energy (BLE) connected S Pen, it’s also easy on the eyes, with a thoughtfully refined display and frame design. And with a total of four standout color options, which users are encouraged to mix and match with S Pens and accessories of various hues, the Galaxy Note9 offers users more ways to express their fashion and style.

Enhancing an Iconic Design

The Galaxy Note9 furthers the Note series’ stunning design heritage with a sleek and square form factor, as well as enhancements that enable users to multitask more efficiently and enjoy immersive multimedia experiences.

A cornerstone of Samsung’s design legacy, the Infinity Display is known for its seamless form and captivating visuals. Measuring 6.4 inches, the Galaxy Note9’s Quad HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity Display is the series’ largest yet, offering more room for work, play and everything in between. That means a bigger screen to immerse yourself in a favorite movie or game, and more space to write or create with the S Pen.

To amplify users’ immersion, Samsung rounded the corners of the display to a bare minimum, and refined the Galaxy Note9’s barely-there bezels to conceal its iris sensor. The screen itself is also a deeper black, which allows it to blend in with the bezels when the device is off and enhances the overall aesthetic. Other enhancements include the redesigned camera deco, which now matches the color of the device, and the repositioned fingerprint sensor, which is now found beneath the camera.

The smartphone’s design is rounded off with a choice of four expressive color options: Ocean Blue, Midnight Black, Metallic Copper and Lavender Purple.

A Standout S Pen

Each Note adds new capabilities to the smartphones’ signature feature: the S Pen. Over the years, these enhancements have unlocked innovative ways for users to manage their mobile lives more comfortably and freely. When designing the Galaxy Note9, Samsung’s team focused on enhancements that would take the S Pen’s ‘freeing’ aspects to the next level, transforming it into more than a tool, but rather a device in its own right, complete with Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) connectivity and its own independent functions.

The S Pen’s individuality is also reflected in aesthetic elements of the Galaxy Note9’s design. For example, unlike the other colorways, which each feature an S Pen in a matching hue, the stylish Ocean Blue model comes with a vibrant Yellow S Pen that stands out from the rest. And because each model’s S Pen is compatible with any other Galaxy Note9, you can easily swap your S Pen for another if you feel like a different color would better suit your style*.

The S Pen’s significance to the line is also reflected in the new flagship’s packaging, which prominently displays an image of the S Pen in place of the devices’ traditional logo. This adjustment was made to honor the S Pen as the symbol of the Note series, and a key reason why the smartphones have garnered countless fans.

A Refined Frame

One of the first things you’ll notice when holding the Galaxy Note9 is just how nicely it sits in the hand. The smartphone’s comfortable contours are the result of a frame design that reflects thoughtful consideration for both usability and aesthetics.

The metal frame was forged using a cutting process known as Dia-cutting, which utilizes a fast-rotating artificial diamond tool to create smooth, glossy surfaces that accentuate design details. The process involved tapering the surfaces of the frame that blend into the device’s front and back, and carefully rounding the middle section, which comes into contact with your palm the most. The tapered parts of the frame feature a glossy finish, while the rounded middle section is matte.

The resulting frame is sleek and slim, and features an interplay of glossy and matte finishes that complements the Galaxy Note9’s premium design cues.

The video above illustrates the dia-cutting process, followed by the coloring procedure of the Galaxy Note9.

Exceptional Accessories

The Galaxy Note9’s accessories selection includes a wide range of stylish covers that offer users more ways to customize their smartphone’s aesthetic. Designed to suit a wide array of tastes, the protective covers span from fine leather to military-grade options.

The new Leather Wallet Cover is perhaps the most eye-catching of the bunch. Crafted from genuine calf leather, it features a handy card pocket as well as a soft microfiber lining that helps protect the Galaxy Note9 from scratches. It’s available in a choice of five colors—black, brown, red, blue and yellow—which users are encouraged to mix and match with their Galaxy Note9 to showcase their style.

Also included in the Galaxy Note9’s collection of compatible accessories is Samsung’s new Wireless Charger Duo. A combination of the Fast Charge Wireless Charging Stand and the Wireless Charging Pad, the fast-charging two-in-one allows users to quickly charge their phone alongside another Qi-compatible phone or wearable. The charger eliminates the need to fumble with cables each time you need to top up your devices’ batteries, and its built-in stand offers easy access to your phone’s screen.

*Each model’s S Pen is also available for individual sale.

**Certified MIL-STD-810G-516.7 compliant.

The latest addition to a series that continues to raise the bar for smartphone power and performance, the Galaxy Note9 features an array of innovative technologies that help users get the most out of everything they do.

The Galaxy Note9’s all-day, 4,000mAh battery is the largest ever featured in a Galaxy flagship phone, and offers enough charge to power through an entire day’s worth of work, play, and everything in between. The device also features generous built-in storage options (either 128GB or 512GB) that allow users to put the days of deleting photos, videos and apps to make room for more behind them.

A new, Bluetooth Low-Energy enabled S Pen makes the series’ signature feature even more dynamic, allowing you to utilize the powerful tool as a customizable control for managing apps and functions. The device also introduces a camera that combines Samsung’s industry-leading innovations with deep-learning technology that takes the work out of snapping the perfect photo.

These days, whether we’re connecting with friends and family, leading a conference call on the go, snapping photos, or playing a favorite mobile game, we rely on our smartphones for almost everything we do.

Combining fan-favorite Note features with an all-day battery, a Bluetooth Low-Energy (BLE) connected S Pen and Samsung Electronics’ most intelligent camera yet, the Galaxy Note9 raises the bar for smartphone performance and power with innovations that help users get the most out of work, play and everything in between.

A Signature Design

The premium design cues that Note users know and love have been updated for the Galaxy Note9 to foster a more comfortable and streamlined mobile experience.

The Galaxy Note9’s 6.4-inch Infinity Display is the largest the series has ever seen, with plenty of room to enjoy a favorite movie or game, or write, draw or play with the connected S Pen. The device’s Dia-cut metal frame looks sleek and slim, and features an interplay of glossy and non-glossy finishes that exudes a premium look. The Galaxy Note9 is available in a selection of four standout color options: Midnight Black, Metallic Copper, Ocean Blue and Lavender Purple.

A Mobile Remote Control

The Galaxy Note9’s enhanced S Pen introduces entirely new ways for users to manage their device and express their creativity.

The addition of Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology has transformed the S Pen into a convenient and customizable remote control that allows you to easily manage apps and functions, including the camera, from within 10 meters of the Galaxy Note9. The PENUP-powered Live Drawing and Photo Drawing features, meanwhile, offer users simple tools to create dynamic works of art that showcase their artistic skills.

In addition to functioning as an intuitive remote control, the Galaxy Note9’s S Pen also includes support for Samsung DeX, Samsung’s powerful productivity solution. Users who connect the Galaxy Note9 to a screen via Samsung DeX will be able to utilize the S Pen to streamline a wide array of tasks, such as delivering presentations.

An Intelligent Camera

To make capturing the perfect picture as simple as possible, the Galaxy Note9 enhances Samsung’s industry-leading camera technologies with deep-learning capabilities that make it easy to snap stunning shots.

The camera’s new Flaw Detection and Scene Optimizer features utilize advanced AI to help users take the best possible picture. The former automatically notifies you of any flaws in your photos, such as blinking eyes, so you can capture another shot, while the latter automatically analyzes objects, scenery and time elements in the camera’s frame in order to recognize the type of scene you’re photographing and optimize color tones accordingly.

Premium Power and Performance

As teased before the Unpacked event, the Galaxy Note9 offers users the very best in terms of battery life, speed and storage.

The Galaxy Note9’s all-day, 4,000mAh battery is Samsung’s most powerful and reliable yet, and the device’s 128GB of baseline storage offers more than enough room for all of your photos, videos and apps. An industry leading cooling system provides optimal performance during graphics-intensive activities like gaming, while a 10-nanometer processor and support for mobile carriers’ fastest network speeds ensure that you’re never stuck in the slow lane when downloading or streaming your favorite content.

Even More Dynamic with Samsung DeX

Samsung’s powerful productivity solution, Samsung DeX, becomes even more versatile when paired with the Galaxy Note9.

The new, easy-to-carry HDMI Adaptor makes utilizing Samsung DeX even more convenient, creating more opportunities to enjoy a PC-like experience at the office, at home or on the go. The solution’s dual-screen support allows users to work simultaneously on the Galaxy Note9 and on a connected display, and lets you utilize the phone as touch keyboard, a touchpad, or a surface for drawing with the enhanced S Pen.

Each new addition to the Note family introduces exciting capabilities to the smartphones’ signature feature: the S Pen. Over the years, these refinements have unlocked innovative ways for users to communicate with others and streamline work, play and everything in between.

The Galaxy Note9’s S Pen raises the bar with an array of convenient additions, including Bluetooth Low-Energy (BLE) connectivity, Samsung DeX compatibility, and integration with several fan-favorite Note features. Together, these enhancements offer much greater control over your mobile experience, making it easier to get the most out of everything you do.

Even Better with Bluetooth Low-Energy (BLE)

The S Pen has always been a boundary-pushing innovation, but adding BLE connectivity takes it to another level, literally expanding the boundaries within which you can use your S Pen to manage your device.

The S Pen’s connectivity allows it to serve as an intuitive remote control for your Galaxy Note9 that lets you easily manage key functions, including the device’s camera, from within 10 meters of the device. This means that when taking a selfie or a fun photo with friends, after launching the camera, rather than reaching for the shutter button (and possibly jeopardizing your carefully framed shot), you can instantly snap your pic with a click of the S Pen’s button. A double-click will switch from the front to the rear camera, and vice versa.

Other apps that support the use of the S Pen as a remote control include the Gallery app and various presentation and media-player apps1. A simple click or double-click will allow you to play/pause a song, skip to the next track or video, or view the next/previous image in an album. You can even utilize the S Pen as a convenient clicker for presenting with the Galaxy Note9 and Samsung DeX. And with its open SDK (software development kit), developers will be able to integrate the S Pen’s intuitive controls into a wide range of apps that will allow you to streamline more tasks with a simple click.

The S Pen also allows you to easily launch a favorite app or feature with a long press, regardless of the currently opened app. You can also customize clicks in the S Pen’s settings2.

BLE technology ensures that the S Pen is always ready whenever you need it, enabling the device to pair with the Galaxy Note9 as soon as it’s removed, and maintaining a stable connection even when Bluetooth is turned off. The S Pen’s Super Capacitor takes just 40 seconds to reach full charge, and offers 30 minutes of power—or up to 200 clicks.

Made for Multitaskers

Note users are true multitaskers who require a phone that’s as versatile as they are. That’s why Samsung enhanced the Galaxy Note9’s S Pen with Samsung DeX support: to offer users more ways to get down to work.

Samsung’s ultimate productivity service solution has been enhanced for the Galaxy Note9 with highly portable HDMI adapters, which users can easily plug in to a display when on the go without the need for a separate device. In addition, there’s also the dual screen support that allows you to work simultaneously on the smartphone’s display and on a connected monitor.

Connecting the Galaxy Note9 to a monitor will also allow you to utilize the device as a touch keyboard, a touch pad, or a surface for writing or drawing with the S Pen. The S Pen’s pressure-sensitive tip delivers a realistic and efficient writing experience when working on Samsung DeX, making it easy to, for instance, take notes on an interesting video that you’re watching on the monitor, or fine tune an image or illustration using your Galaxy Note9 and the Adobe software suite.

More Ways to Make Your Mark

Last year’s Galaxy Note8 introduced Live Message, a particularly fun feature that allows you to inject more emotion into messages by drawing your own emojis, making animated GIFs, and customizing photos with pen effects and handwritten notes.

The Galaxy Note9 expands Live Message’s expressive capabilities by integrating support for Samsung’s ever-emotive, user-resembling AR Emoji stickers. The S Pen adds new layers of fun to sharing AR Emoji stickers by allowing you to customize them with personalized messages, drawings and more effects, which may be shared via messaging apps.

And the fun doesn’t stop there, thanks to the new PENUP-powered Photo Drawing and Live Drawing features. The former adds a creative twist to the Gallery app, allowing you to draw over your own pics to create impressive works of art, while the latter offers video tutorials to help you fine-tune your artistic skills.

Screen off memo has also been made more dynamic, as the color of the pen’s markings now matches the color of the S pen itself—either yellow (for the Ocean Blue Galaxy Note9), light grey (for the Midnight Black model), lavender purple or metallic copper.

A Refined Design

The Galaxy Note9’s S Pen is comfortable in the hand, measuring 106 millimeters in length and weighing in at 3.1 grams. Its 0.7-millimeter tip and 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity provide impeccable precision, adding comfort and accuracy to note taking and drawing.

Like the Galaxy Note9 itself, the S Pen is IP68 water and dust resistant3. So wherever your day takes you, and no matter conditions, you can rest assured that it’ll be ready to work.

1Compatible apps include Camera, Gallery, Voice Recorder, Samsung Music, Samsung Video, Microsoft PowerPoint, Hancom SHOW, B162, Snow, YouTube, Snapchat and almost all music apps. Additional apps available after launch.

2App compatibility may vary.

3Water resistance rating is based on test conditions of submersion in up to 1.5 meters of fresh water for up to 30 minutes.

Picture this: When catching a sunset during your vacation, you snap a pic with your phone only to find that the image on the screen hasn’t quite captured the majesty of the moment. The Galaxy Note9’s new Scene Optimizer function makes it easy to photograph breathtaking moments just like this by automatically optimizing camera settings to capture the full beauty of the scene.

Scene Optimizer utilizes deep-learning technology to analyze objects, scenery and time elements in the camera’s frame in order to identify exactly which type of scene you’re about to photograph. The function is currently capable of recognizing 20 types of scenes—including ‘Food’, ‘Flowers’, ‘Indoor scenes’ and ‘Landscapes’— and automatically adjusts the color tone based on how the scene is classified1.

The function corrects the saturation, white balance, brightness and contrast in order to provide the best possible image. And because it does not require a network connection, it’s always available to help make your photos look great.

Snap Flawless Photos

Even the best photos can be spoiled by a simple blink, a blur, a smudge on the lens, or by harsh, overpowering light behind the picture’s subject. That’s where the Galaxy Note9’s Flaw Detection function comes in. Once a photo has been snapped, the feature automatically scans it for flaws and notifies you if any are found2.

The function helps users capture and save more memorable moments by ensuring that the picture they take is the best possible shot. Say you’re enjoying a special evening with friends and decide to immortalize it with a fun photo. Rather than realizing later that your eyes were closed, with Flaw Detection you’ll be immediately informed of any flaws in your photo so you can capture the memory with an additional shot.

Crisp Images In Any Lighting

Whether we’re at a restaurant, a concert, or simply enjoying a balmy evening under the summer sky, we’re constantly snapping photos in low-light environments. That’s why Samsung outfitted the Galaxy Note9’s camera with an array of innovative technologies that allow it to produce stunning shots day or night.

Combining an F2.4 aperture lens with an F1.5, the brightest currently available on a smartphone, the Dual Aperture lens automatically adjusts to light just like the human eye, letting in more light when it’s dark and less when it’s bright to produce images that are crisp and clear.

The Galaxy Note9’s multi-frame processing technology adds further clarity to photos taken under less-than-ideal lighting conditions. This technology, which combines several photos into one to create an optimal image, allows the camera to provide better HDR at night, and enriches the Live Focus feature with improved brightness and noise when taking pictures in low-light environments.

Capture More Moments In Epic Detail

The Galaxy Note9’s camera also includes support for Samsung’s recently introduced Super Slow-mo function, which ramps the camera’s shutter speed up to 960 frames per second to allow users to record spectacular slow-mo videos.

Four times slower than traditional slow-motion video, Super Slow-mo is powered by the camera’s Super Speed Dual Pixel image sensor, which supports much faster image processing thanks in part to its integrated DRAM memory chip. The feature also includes an automatic Motion Detection function that instantly starts recording as soon as it detects movement.

The Galaxy Note9 allows users to transform 0.4 seconds of footage into approximately 12 seconds of Super Slow-mo video when taken in single shot mode3. Once a video is recorded, the feature automatically adds appropriate background music that makes the recorded moment even more epic.

More Customizable AR Emoji

The Galaxy Note9 is absolutely packed with innovations that empower users’ creativity and self-expression, and the camera’s refined AR Emoji feature is one of the most dynamic examples of this.

Capable of mimicking users’ movements in addition to supporting dozens of pre-set expressions, AR Emoji stickers offer a fun way to express yourself and inject personality into messages. The Galaxy Note9 analyzes your distinct facial features to generate a 3D avatar that matches your appearance.

The feature, whose face-tracking function was recently enriched with more landmark detector points, has been enhanced for the Galaxy Note9 with an array of customization options that make it easier for AR Emojis to copy your distinct style. With loads of new outfits and accessories to choose from, as well as the ability to fine-tune details like your hair style, skin tone and facial features, the opportunities for expression are endless.

Galaxy Note9 users will also be able to customize the backgrounds of their stickers with an array of new options, and enjoy access to Samsung and partners like Disney’s ever-growing roster of AR Emojis based on iconic cartoon characters—a roster that’s set to become even more fun and diverse with the feature’s open SDK (software development kit).

1Accuracy may differ by settings and surrounding conditions.

2Accuracy of Flaw Detection function may differ depending on surrounding conditions or subject. Blink detection works within 1.5 meters and a maximum of 3 people are detectable at the same time. Blur detection feature senses when the camera shakes, and recognizes face blur in the photo.

3Video is initially recorded at 480fps and digitally converted into 960fps footage.

The Galaxy Note9 introduces exciting enhancements to the same great collection of high-performance Galaxy features that have, over the last few years, redefined the mobile experience.

Featuring an all-day battery, expanded storage, fast processing and network speeds, and Samsung Electronics’ latest advancements in cooling technologies, the newest addition to the Note lineup has been engineered to offer the highest levels of power and performance.

All-Day Performance

A phone designed for power users requires a likewise powerful battery. That’s why Samsung equipped the Galaxy Note9 with an all-day1, 4,000mAh battery—the largest ever featured on a flagship Galaxy device. Offering 21 percent more power than the Galaxy Note8’s 3,300mAh unit, the powerhouse battery allows you to spend more time being productive and less time tied down by chargers and power packs.

The fast-charging, wireless-capable battery is not only the most powerful that the Galaxy family has ever seen; it’s also the most reliable. That’s because its power and performance are backed by Samsung’s 8-Point Battery Safety Check—the most rigorous in the industry—and have also been validated by the experts at UL (Underwriters Laboratories) and Exponent.

So you can rest assured that from morning meetings to meet-ups with friends, and whatever else you have planned for your day, your Galaxy Note9 will be ready to help you get things done and enjoy each day to the fullest.

Save More, Delete Less

Samsung designed the Galaxy Note9 with a belief that not only should you not need to plan your day around our smartphone’s battery life, you shouldn’t need to delete your favorite photos, files and apps to make room for more either.

To offer users more freedom to create and store dynamic content, the Galaxy Note9 comes with a default base storage of 128GB, including 6GB of RAM, and is also available in a 512GB model with 8GB of RAM2. The latter opens the door for over one terabyte of storage via microSD card3.

Just how much dynamic content can the Galaxy Note9 hold? The 128GB model offers enough space for approximately 545 full HD (FHD) videos, or over 22,000 images, while the 512GB version features room for some 2,315 FHD videos, or over 93,000 images4. The smartphone’s combination of ample storage and microSD support means that users will likely never need to erase old content to make room for more apps, files, or stunning photos or videos captured with its innovative camera.

Built for the Fast Lane

Like storage space, a phone’s processing speeds and network capabilities can directly impact users’ ability to get the most out of a given day.

To offer users superior speed, the Galaxy Note9 comes equipped with a 10-nanometer processor that, in addition to boosting CPU and GPU performance by 33 and 23 percent, respectively5, supports the fastest network speeds available, with downloads of up to 1.2 gigabits per second (Gbps)6.

The Galaxy Note9’s connections ensure that you’re never stuck in the slow lane when downloading or streaming your favorite content.

Cool Under Pressure

The Galaxy Note9’s combination of premium power and performance is made possible, in part, thanks to its Water Carbon Cooling system, which allows the phone to run smoothly during heavy use.

Samsung’s cooling system counteracts heat with a heat pipe, or ‘thermal spreader’, that ensures that the processor functions at optimal levels. The system, which was first introduced in the Galaxy S7, utilizes changes in the phases of water to efficiently radiate heat. First, a porous structure filled with water absorbs the heat, then the water is turned into steam and moved through pipes. The steam then begins to cool and turns back into water and the process begins again, dispelling more heat with each subsequent cycle.

To help ensure that the Galaxy Note9 remains cool under pressure, Samsung equipped the device with a heat pipe that’s three times larger than the Galaxy Note8’s, and increased the system’s internal water intake to allow for greater heat absorption. The system also benefits from an enhanced carbon fiber TIM (thermal interface material) that transfers heat from the processor to the thermal spreader with 3.5 times greater efficiency, boosts thermal conductivity, and helps prevent overheating.

The Galaxy Note9 also features an on-device AI-based, performance-adjusting algorithm that provides up to 40 percent more stable FPS (frames per second) when gaming. This allows the smartphone to provide smoother visuals and a more enjoyable experience when playing top games like “Fortnite”.

In an action-packed game like “Fortnite”, FPS drops can mean the difference between life and death. Timing and accuracy are everything, and unstable FPS can hinder your ability to anticipate an attack, and can cause a carefully aimed shot to hit just off the mark. The Galaxy Note9’s smooth and stable gameplay makes it easier to immerse yourself in the on-screen action, offering a competitive edge in your quest to become the last player standing.

1Estimated against the usage profile of an average/typical user. Independently assessed by Strategy Analytics between 11-24 July 2018 in Santa Monica, CA, U.S. and Milton Keynes, U.K. with pre-release versions of SM-N960 (128GB). Actual battery life may vary.

Samsung Electronics today announced the latest addition to its premium Note series with Galaxy Note9. The Note series has been recognized for including the company’s latest groundbreaking innovations, and Galaxy Note9 builds on this legacy with a premium smartphone that delivers the ultimate in performance; a new S Pen with connectivity for the first time ever; and Samsung’s most intelligent camera yet.

“The Note has always been our showcase for premium technology and industry-defining innovation, and Galaxy Note9 is no exception. It’s designed for a level of performance, power and intelligence that today’s power users want and need,” said DJ Koh, President and CEO of IT & Mobile Communications Division, Samsung Electronics. “Note fans are Samsung’s most loyal; we know they want it all, to get the most out of work and play, and Galaxy Note9 is the only phone that can keep up with their busy lives.”

All Day Performance

People rely on their smartphones for almost everything they do – all-day, every day. They need a phone that can keep up without having to find the nearest outlet to recharge, delete pictures to free up storage for their next snap, anxiously wait for their video to download before boarding their flight, or deal with any lag time when gaming.

They need a phone that won’t let them down and Galaxy Note9 delivers.

All Day Battery: Galaxy Note9’s 4,000mAh battery, the largest ever on a flagship Galaxy phone for long-lasting power to use all-day to talk, text, play games and watch movies from morning to night.

Store More, Delete Less: Galaxy Note9 is available with two internal storage options – choose from 128GB or 512GB. And with the ability to insert a microSD card, Galaxy Note9 is 1TB ready1 to have peace of mind knowing there is enough room for favorite photos, videos and apps.

Speed and Power: Galaxy Note9 is a super powerful smartphone with cutting-edge 10nm processor and support for the fastest network speeds available in the market (up to 1.2 gigabits per second) to stream and download without slowing down. Galaxy Note9 also includes an industry-leading and Samsung developed Water Carbon Cooling system and on-device AI-based performance adjusting algorithm to deliver the powerful yet stable performance.

The Evolution of the S Pen

The S Pen is the signature feature of the Note series – it’s how users have made their mark, and how Samsung has expanded the notion of what a smartphone can do. What began as a tool for writing and drawing is now putting more power and control in their hands.

Now with Bluetooth Low-Energy (BLE) support, the new S Pen delivers an entirely new way to use the Note. With just a click, it’s now possible to take selfies and group pictures, present slides, pause and play video, and more. Developers can even integrate the S Pen’s new, advanced BLE functionalities into their apps later this year.

The Intelligent Camera That Makes Pictures Perfect

It can be hard to take a picture that looks just like the ones the pros take – but it shouldn’t be. Galaxy Note9 builds on Samsung’s industry-leading camera technologies with new capabilities that take the work out of getting the perfect picture.

Scene Optimizer: Galaxy Note9’s camera is Samsung’s smartest yet. It uses intelligence to identify elements of a photo, such as scene and subject, to automatically classify it into one of 20 categories and instantly optimize it based on the category. The result is a stunning, lifelike image with bold colors and dynamic definition.

Flaw Detection: The first shot doesn’t always come out right, but the Galaxy Note9 lets users know if there’s something wrong, so they can take another picture without losing the moment. An immediate notification will appear if the image is blurry, the subject blinked, there is a smudge on the lens, or there’s backlight impacting the quality of the image.

Premium Camera: With the unique combination of advanced intelligence features and leading premium hardware, Galaxy Note9’s camera is the best on the market. It comes with advanced noise reduction technology, and a Dual Aperture2 lens, which adjusts to light just like the human eye. No matter the lighting conditions, Galaxy Note9’s top-tier camera delivers a crystal-clear shot.

Premium Experiences: From Work to Play

The Infinity Display is the cornerstone of Samsung’s design heritage, and Galaxy Note9 has the largest edge-to-edge display ever on a Note. The 6.4-inch Super AMOLED Infinity Display provides a truly immersive multimedia experience. Galaxy Note9’s Infinity Display is complemented by stereo speakers, which are tuned by AKG, and ability to deliver Dolby Atmos® immersive audio for a life like experience. Mobile video has never looked or sounded better than it does on Galaxy Note9. YouTube named Galaxy Note9 as a Signature Device able to deliver a best-in-class YouTube experience.

Galaxy Note9 also delivers a PC-like experience with Samsung DeX. Users can work on presentations, edit photos, and watch their favorite show all powered by their phone. Experience Samsung DeX with easy-to-carry HDMI adapters3. When connected to a monitor, Galaxy Note9 can power a virtualized desktop and even serve as a fully-functional second screen. Take notes with the S Pen while watching a video, or use Galaxy Note9 as a trackpad, to right-click, drag and drop, and use multiple windows on a monitor. It’s never been easier to be more productive.

Galaxy and Beyond

The premium Galaxy technologies come standard with Note9: fast wireless charging, IP68 water and dust resistance4 and Samsung services such as Samsung Health and Samsung Pay. Galaxy Note9 features Samsung’s trusted, defense-grade Knox security platform and biometric security options including fingerprint scanning, iris scanning and facial recognition capabilities to keep important information safe.

Galaxy Note9 opens up a world of possibilities – it’s a portal to the full Samsung ecosystem of devices and services. For instance, use Galaxy Note9 and SmartThings to control connected devices, or get more done with Bixby5, a personalized, intelligent assistant. And with the launch of Galaxy Note9, Samsung is making it easier to enjoy music with a new long-term partner, Spotify6. The partnership makes Spotify easily accessible to seamlessly sync and transfer music, playlists and podcasts across Galaxy Note9, Galaxy Watch and Smart TV products.

Galaxy Note9 will be available starting August 24, 2018 in select markets and will be offered in Midnight Black, Lavender Purple, Metallic Copper with matching S Pen, and Ocean Blue with a Yellow S Pen.

Featuring refined designs and Samsung’s most advanced cameras yet, the Galaxy S9 and S9+ offer powerful tools to transform how users capture special moments, express themselves and enjoy immersive entertainment.

Both devices offer a smartphone experience that’s personalized in ways that enhance users’ connected lives, and designed to reimagine the way that we communicate, share and experience the world around us.

1. A Streamlined Design

Both the 5.8-inch Galaxy S9 and the 6.2-inch S9+ introduce refinements to the Infinity Display that make Samsung’s signature screen even more striking.

These include reinforcing the Super AMOLED displays with thicker Corning© Gorilla© Glass 5 and crafting the bezels and screen in a deeper black to conceal the iris sensor and create a more uniform, minimalist aesthetic. Both devices feature sleek, contemporary designs, and are available in a choice of four colors: Midnight Black, Titanium Gray, Coral Blue, and the all-new Lilac Purple.

2. Make Everyday Moments Epic

The Galaxy S9’s Super Slow-mo feature was designed to allow users to capture, in stunning detail, the epic, blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moments that occur in everyday life.

Super Slow-mo increases the camera’s shutter speed to a blistering 960 fps (frames per second), and is capable of recording video that’s four times slower than any other slow-motion mobile technology. Once they’ve recorded their Super Slow-mo clip, users may choose to save it as a GIF, customize it with a favorite tune, or display it as a wallpaper for their home or lock screen.

3. A Low Light Camera That Imitates the Eye

Combining an F2.4 aperture lens with an F1.5, the brightest currently available on a smartphone, the Galaxy S9’s advanced Dual Aperture camera adapts to its environment to allow users to snap stunning shots in any light.

Just like the human eye, the camera automatically adjusts to lighting conditions to allow just the right amount of light to reach the lens. So whether users are enjoying a sunny day at the beach or a birthday dinner with friends, they can rest assured that their images will be crisp and clear.

4. Express Yourself with AR Emoji

The Galaxy S9’s new AR Emoji feature allows users to create their own realistic or cartoon-like emojis using the device‘s facial recognition technology. From a single selfie, the device analyzes a 2D image of you by mapping more than 100 distinct facial features, and then applies that image to a 3D model to generate an avatar that looks just like you and can imitate your facial expressions.

AR Emoji are fully customizable, can easily be shared with others and also used as a wallpaper for the user’s home or lock screen.

5. Instant Insight into Your Surroundings

Samsung’s intelligence platform, Bixby, is deeply integrated into the Galaxy S9’s camera, and utilizes augmented reality and deep learning technologies to provide users with a wide range of helpful, real-time information about the world around them.

When the user points their camera at an object, Bixby recognizes what it’s looking at and instantly presents information related to that object overlaid on top of the image. This means that, for instance, a user on a business trip abroad would be able to utilize the Live Translation function under Bixby’s Text mode to instantly translate a menu or sign written in a foreign language, or even foreign currency, in real-time.

6. Snap Standout Shots with Dual Camera

The Galaxy S9+’s best-in-class Dual Camera features a pair of 12MP cameras – an F1.5 wide-angle lens with Super Speed Dual Pixel image sensor, and an F2.4 telephoto lens – as well as dual optical image stabilization (OIS) to ensure that photos are crystal clear even when the user has a shaky hand.

The camera’s Live Focus and Background Blur features offer users more creative control over their photos. The former allows them to adjust the depth of field at any point in the photo-taking process, while the latter lets users play with the focus of their photo’s background by applying shapes such as hearts, stars and more.

7. Stereo Speakers Provide Premium Sound

Because our smartphones are often our go-to platform for entertainment, Samsung has complemented the Galaxy S9’s immersive Infinity Display with an equally engrossing sound system.

To make it easy for users to immerse themselves in their content, Samsung placed powerful, AKG-tuned stereo speakers into the bottom and earpiece of the device that produce rich, balanced sound, no matter the volume. The Galaxy S9 also features a Dolby Atmos effect, which carefully analyzes key variables in content’s audio to give users the sensation that they’re experiencing 360-degree surround sound.

8. Enhanced Biometric Authentication

The Galaxy S9’s Intelligent Scan feature combines the collective strength of Samsung’s iris scanning, facial recognition and intelligent technologies to create a seamless authentication solution that offers users secure access to their device in virtually any environment.

In addition, the phone’s fingerprint scanner, which is now conveniently located beneath the camera on the back of the device, supports a new Dedicated Fingerprint function, which allows users to designate a fingerprint to provide instant access to their Secure Folder.

9. Built for Mobile Lifestyles

In addition to allowing users to enjoy a full-screen desktop experience powered by their mobile device, the Samsung DeX software platform now allows users to transform their Galaxy S9’s Infinity Display into a Touch Keyboard and Touch Pad using the new DeX Pad.

Samsung Electronics introduces the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+, the smartphones that reimagine the way people communicate, share and experience the world. Made for an age in which consumers increasingly communicate and express themselves more with images, videos and emojis, the Galaxy S9 and S9+ drive innovation with Samsung’s advanced camera. Redesigned with a new Dual Aperture lens that powers an innovative low light camera, Super Slow-mo video capabilities and personalized AR Emoji, the Galaxy S9 and S9+ ensure users do not miss a moment and make their everyday epic.

The Galaxy S9 and S9+ deliver an enhanced entertainment experience with powerful stereo speakers tuned by AKG, immersive audio with Dolby Atmos® and a refined edge-to-edge Infinity Display 1– a key staple in Samsung’s design heritage. In addition, the Galaxy S9 and S9+ will come with the new SmartThings app, which unites Samsung’s existing IoT services into one single, smart experience.

“The way we use our smartphones has changed as communication and self-expression has evolved,” said DJ Koh, president and Head of IT & Mobile Communications Division, Samsung Electronics. “With the Galaxy S9 and S9+, we have reimagined the smartphone camera. Not only do the Galaxy S9 and S9+ enable consumers to shoot great photos and videos anywhere, it’s a smartphone that’s designed to help them connect to others and express themselves in a way that’s unique and personal to them.”

Camera Reimagined

Today’s cameras are for more than taking pictures – they’re for connecting and communicating. Consumers want a smartphone camera with state-of-the-art technology, so they can express themselves with high-quality images and tools to tell their own, unique story. The Galaxy S9 and S9+ cameras are built with these consumers in mind, with a Super Speed Dual Pixel sensor with dedicated processing power and memory to take amazing shots with high photo quality. The Galaxy S9 and S9+’s camera features include:

Super Slow-mo: Make every day moments epic with dynamic, slow-motion video that captures 960 frames per second. The Galaxy S9 and S9+ also offer automatic Motion Detection, an intelligent feature that detects movement in the frame and automatically begins to record – all users have to do is set up the shot. After capturing the Super Slow-mo video, users can select background music from 35 different options or add a tune from their favorite playlist. Users can also easily create, edit and share GIF files with a simple tap in three playful styles of looping to watch the action over and over again.

Low Light Camera: Good lighting is the secret to any great photo. But often, photos are taken in less-than-ideal lighting conditions and most smartphone cameras have a fixed aperture that can’t adjust to low or bright lighting environments resulting in grainy or washed out pictures. Similar to the way the iris of a human eye expands and contracts, Samsung’s Dual Aperture2(F1.5 / F2.4) automatically lets in more light when it’s dark and less light when it’s too bright, taking photos that are crisp and clear.

AR Emoji: Samsung lets users create an emoji that looks, sounds and acts like them. AR Emoji uses a data-based machine learning algorithm, which analyzes a 2D image of the user and maps out more than 100 facial features to create a 3D model that reflects and imitates expressions, like winks and nods, for true personalization. AR Emoji shares users’ real-life emotions not only in video but also with a range of stickers and uses a standard AGIF file format so users can share their emojis across most third-party messaging platforms.

Bixby: Samsung’s intelligence platform, integrated into the camera, uses augmented reality and deep learning technologies to provide helpful information about a user’s surroundings.3 With real-time object detection and recognition, Bixby instantly generates information directly on top of the image that the camera is pointing at. Users can translate foreign languages and currency in real time with Live Translation, learn about their surroundings, purchase products seen in the real world and track calories throughout the day.4

Entertainment Reimagined

Smartphones are often our go-to choice for entertainment, which is why Samsung created a device that offers premium sound experiences with stereo speakers tuned by AKG. Whether users are watching their favorite movie or streaming their favorite artist’s latest album, sounds are clear, crisp and rich in quality. The Galaxy S9 and S9+ also support Dolby Atmos, giving the effect of 360-degree sound.

The Galaxy S9 and S9+ audio experience is complemented by Samsung’s revolutionary Infinity Display. First introduced on the Galaxy S8, the bold, bright Super AMOLED Infinity Display blends right into the phone with virtually no distracting notches. With adaptive contrast enhancement, users can use their device even in direct sunlight.

A Device that Fits with the Connected Lifestyle

As the first smartphone to support the new SmartThings app, the Galaxy S9 and S9+ are the central hub to manage every facet of the connected lifestyle at home, at the office or on the go. The SmartThings app will be introduced with the Galaxy S9 and S9+ and will connect to other Samsung and non-Samsung devices.

For those constantly on the move, the next-generation Samsung DeX empowers a mobile lifestyle by bringing a large, full-screen experience to the mobile handset. With the DeX Pad, a new docking system, users can easily connect the Galaxy S9 and S9+ to a larger monitor, keyboard and mouse to expand the mobile experience with enhanced document editing or even full-screen gaming.5Users can also transform the Galaxy S9 and S9+ into a Touch Pad with the DeX Pad.6

The Best Comes Standard with the Galaxy Foundation

Samsung sets the gold standard for smartphones with IP687 water and dust resistance and wireless charging and goes a step beyond with the Galaxy S9 and S9+. The devices now support expandable memory of up to 400GB with a Micro SD Card and are equipped with the latest premium application processors offering powerful performance and sophisticated image processing.

In addition, the Galaxy S9 and S9+ give users the peace of mind knowing that their phone is protected by Knox 3.1, Samsung’s latest defense-grade security platform. The Galaxy S9 and S9+ support three different biometric authentication options – iris, fingerprint, and facial recognition – so users can choose the way they want to protect their device and applications. The devices feature Intelligent Scan, a new verification that intelligently uses the collective strength of iris scanning and facial recognition technology to quickly and conveniently unlock a user’s phone in various situations. The Galaxy S9 and S9+ also introduce Dedicated Fingerprint, giving users the option to use a different fingerprint to access Secure Folder than the one used to unlock the phone.

The Galaxy S9 and S9+ take health to the next level with an improved optical sensor built directly into the device, providing richer, more accurate information on users’ health status. This sensor allows the Galaxy S9 and S9+ to keep track of users’ Heart Load Factor, a new measurement of the real-time demand placed on the heart.8

The Galaxy S9 and S9+ will be available starting in March 16, 2018 in select markets and will be offered in Midnight Black, Titanium Gray, Coral Blue and a new hue, Lilac Purple.
