Samsung India felicitated 30 outstanding students from across the country under the Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC) programme, awarding each topper ₹1 lakh for exceptional performance in each of the four courses­ — Artificial Intelligence (AI), Coding & Programming, Internet of Things (IoT) and Big Data.

The awardees included four national toppers, along with 26 state-level toppers and one social media champion, selected from 20,000 students trained through Samsung Innovation Campus, the company’s flagship CSR programme. The students selected from the 2025 cohort represent 10 states, reflecting the growing spread of technology talent beyond India’s traditional innovation hubs

The toppers were felicitated at Samsung India’s headquarters in Gurugram in the presence of JB Park, President and CEO, Samsung Southwest Asia. “When I look at all of you, I do not just see students. I see future engineers, creators, entrepreneurs, researchers and perhaps future CEOs. AI, coding and data are no longer skills of tomorrow; they are skills of today. Innovation requires curiosity, resilience and the courage to learn from failure. Keep learning, keep adapting and keep moving forward,” said JB Park, President and CEO, Samsung Southwest Asia, at the event.

Aligned with the Government of India’s Skill India and Digital India missions, Samsung Innovation Campus is Samsung’s flagship CSR initiative focused on building future-ready technology skills among the youth. As a partner in India’s growth story, Samsung continues to invest in talent, strengthen local ecosystems, and work closely with education and skilling institutions to create a digitally empowered and innovation-led Aatmanirbhar Bharat.

The stories behind the toppers reflected how technology education can unlock new possibilities.

Aishwarya Sanjay from Karnataka, pursuing a Master’s degree in Agricultural Extension Education, used her learning from the programme to develop an AI-driven model aimed at improving market access for farmers through community-supported agriculture.

Shivam Singh from Uttar Pradesh explored IoT, cybersecurity and automation technologies through the programme, building projects ranging from home automation systems to cybersecurity models, experiences that helped him secure an internship with National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology, Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, Government of India.

Similarly, Dev Uppal from Delhi and Vanshika Raghav from Haryana credited Samsung Innovation Campus with helping them apply classroom learning to real-world challenges while strengthening their confidence, analytical thinking and technical capabilities.

Besides the award ceremony at the Samsung Head Office, the students also had the opportunity to explore Samsung’s innovation ecosystem through visits to Samsung R&D Institute Noida, Samsung R&D Institute Delhi and Samsung Design Delhi. They interacted with technology leaders to understand how the skills gained through Samsung Innovation Campus can be applied to solve real-world challenges. They also gained insights into Samsung’s design philosophy, user-centric innovation processes, and next-generation product development.
  

Through structured training in AI, Coding & Programming, IoT and Big Data, the programme equips students with industry-relevant skills while fostering innovation, critical thinking and digital leadership. As India accelerates its digital transformation, Samsung Innovation Campus continues to create pathways for young talent to access technology education, mentorship and opportunities, helping build the next generation of innovators and problem-solvers.

The event also included Madhvendra Singh, CEO, Electronics Sector Skills Council of India (ESSCI) and Lt Gen Kulbhushan H Gawas, CEO, Telecom Sector Skill Council (TSSC). SIC is implemented in collaboration with the ESSCI and TSSC, two sector skill councils, responsible for defining industry skill standards, certifications and workforce development under the country’s Skill India ecosystem.

At Samsung Solve for Tomorrow, innovation begins with empathy — a deep understanding of challenges faced by people around us. Across four seasons of the programme, young innovators from Tamil Nadu have demonstrated how technology, when combined with purpose, can create meaningful social impact. Over the last four years, more than 5,000 students from Tamil Nadu have engaged with the programme, reflecting the growing spirit of innovation and problem-solving among the state’s youth.

From improving accessibility for persons with disabilities to enabling children with autism to learn through play, these young changemakers are transforming ideas into solutions that have the potential to improve lives and communities.

Through mentorship, design thinking workshops, and access to an innovation ecosystem, Samsung Solve for Tomorrow has enabled students to move beyond ideation and develop prototypes that address real-world challenges. The journeys of innovators from Tamil Nadu show how the right guidance and encouragement can help young minds turn curiosity into meaningful action.

One such example is Team TouchPad from Chennai, comprising Malathi M, C Ganesh Ram, and Vishwa Kumaresh. Inspired by the everyday challenges faced by visually impaired individuals in accessing digital content, the team is developing a tactile display pad that converts images and text into Braille in real time. Using an electromagnet-based mechanism supported by machine learning, the device enables users to interpret written material through touch.

“We wanted to create something that gives visually impaired individuals greater independence in their daily lives. Access to information should never be a barrier,” said the team members. “Solve for Tomorrow gave us the confidence to think bigger and build a solution that can create real social impact.”

Designed to be cost-effective, portable and user-friendly, the tactile display pad aims to seamlessly integrate into daily life. The team also envisions a mobile application that can capture images of printed text and instantly convert them into Braille patterns, enabling visually impaired individuals to independently access information.

Accessibility and inclusion are also at the heart of innovations emerging from Team Sports4Autism from Chennai, which is developing a hybrid application that gamifies therapy for children with autism through sports-based engagement.

“Children learn best when they enjoy the process. We wanted to make therapy more interactive and motivating, while also helping parents track progress in a simple way,” said the team.

Similarly, Team Unity from Coimbatore is exploring multiple solutions that leverage technology to make participation more inclusive. Their ideas include gamified therapy tools for autistic children, platforms that help discover hidden sporting talent, and voice-enabled chess applications for visually impaired individuals.

“Our focus has always been on creating opportunities for people who are often left out due to accessibility barriers. Technology can truly become an equaliser when designed with empathy,” said the team members.

“Over the years, young innovators from Tamil Nadu have developed meaningful solutions for real community challenges, reflecting the state’s deep-rooted culture of education, engineering and problem-solving. Addressing healthcare accessibility through innovation, Team Wiremasters from Coimbatore has worked on a device that supports therapeutic movement for individuals living with muscular dystrophy. The solution seeks to assist patients in performing essential physical exercises that help maintain mobility and muscle function.

“We realised that many patients struggle with access to regular therapeutic support. Our idea is focused on making rehabilitation assistance more accessible and affordable for families,” the team said.

Healthcare inclusion is also central to the work of Team BC Labs from Madurai, founded by identical twins Raman R and Lakshmanan R. Their innovation focuses on a non-surgical adhesive hearing device designed as a safer and more affordable alternative to traditional hearing implant procedures.

The identical twins from Tamil Nadu – Raman R and Lakshmanan R – developed a non-surgical adhesive hearing device that is cheaper than traditional hearing aid implants.

“We wanted to develop a solution that removes fear and complexity from hearing treatment, especially for children and families who may not have access to expensive procedures,” said Raman and Lakshmanan. “If technology can improve confidence and communication for even one child, it can change an entire future.”

Together, these innovators represent a growing community of young problem-solvers from Tamil Nadu who are using technology to address real societal challenges. Their ideas reflect a strong commitment to inclusion, accessibility, and equal opportunity — demonstrating how innovation can create meaningful change when rooted in empathy.

Through initiatives like Solve for Tomorrow, Samsung continues to nurture young talent by providing structured mentorship, exposure to industry experts, and platforms that enable ideas to evolve into real-world solutions. The programme encourages participants to think critically about societal challenges and develop technology-led approaches that can create lasting impact.

Samsung Innovation Campus represent a clear commitment to ensuring that Uttar Pradesh’s young talent participates in, and shapes, the global digital economy

Samsung, India’s largest electronics brand, has certified 1,000 students at Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti Language University in Coding & Programming, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Internet of Things (IoT) under Samsung Innovation Campus. The milestone brings the total number of SIC-certified students in Uttar Pradesh to 4,900, making the state one of the programme’s most active and significant training grounds in the country.

The 1,000-strong cohort comprises students from three key institutions in Uttar Pradesh: Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti Language University, Government Girls’ Polytechnic, and Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Technology for Divyangjan. Spanning three high-demand disciplines, the programme trained 600 students in AI, 300 in coding and programming, and 100 in IoT.

Launched in India in 2022, Samsung Innovation Campus focuses on expanding access to future-tech education to the youth. The curriculum is designed to go beyond technical instruction, embedding soft skills development and structured placement support to prepare students for the realities of the professional world—not just its entry points.

“India’s economic ambitions in the technology sector will ultimately be defined by how many young people are equipped with the right skills at the right time. These students from Samsung Innovation Campus represent a clear commitment to ensuring that Uttar Pradesh’s young talent participates in, and shapes, the global digital economy. The programme continues to expand its reach, with a target of training 20,000 youth across the country, reinforcing the company’s view that inclusive access to future-ready education is not peripheral to India’s growth story—it is central to it.

Nationally, the programme has recorded around 45% women participation, reflecting Samsung’s commitment to building an inclusive and equitable technology ecosystem. The programme is implemented in collaboration with ESSCI and the Telecom Sector Skills Council (TSSC) through accredited training partners.

Together with initiatives such as Samsung Solve for Tomorrow and Samsung DOST, Samsung Innovation Campus is helping strengthen India’s digital skilling ecosystem—empowering young innovators to learn, build, and shape the future through technology.

Samsung, India’s largest consumer electronics brand, announced a strategic collaboration with the University of Madras to launch its flagship tech education initiative, Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC), in Tamil Nadu—strengthening its commitment to building future-ready skills among the state’s youth.

The launch event was attended by senior academicians from the University of Madras, including Dr. P. S. Manjula, Dean, Students’ Affairs; Dr. Rita John, Registrar; and Dr. S. Armstrong, Member, Vice-Chancellor Convener Committee.

Aligned with state and national skilling priorities, Samsung Innovation Campus equips youth with essential skills in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), Big Data, and Coding & Programming. The programme now spans 10 states, aiming to upskill 20,000 students nationwide in 2025—a six-fold expansion over last year.

In Tamil Nadu, 5,000 students will be provided training this year, which is about 25% of the national target—positioning the state as a frontrunner in driving digital empowerment and job-ready talent. In the first phase, the programme will train 500 students within the University of Madras—one of India’s oldest and most prestigious universities—followed by 1,500 students from its affiliated colleges.

Samsung Innovation Campus was launched in India in 2022 and by 2024 had trained 6,500 students, training a total of 26,500 students by 2025. It now continues to expand its footprint with a strong focus on underserved and semi-urban communities. Samsung has partnered with the Electronics Sector Skills Council of India (ESSCI) under the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) to train students through accredited training partners.

Nationally, Samsung Innovation Campus has achieved 44% women participation—reflecting Samsung’s focus on inclusive and equitable skilling. Beyond technical learning, participants receive soft skills training and placement support to strengthen employability and workplace readiness.

Together with its Samsung Solve for Tomorrow and Samsung DOST initiatives, Samsung Innovation Campus underscores Samsung’s long-term commitment to democratizing technology, building talent pipelines, and preparing India’s youth for a connected, innovation-driven future.

Hyderabad emerges as a future-tech skilling hub

The certificate felicitation ceremony was graced by Mr. Rajivnath, Centre Head, NSIC Hyderabad, who congratulated the students and highlighted the importance of sustained investments in youth skilling to support India’s digital transformation.

Of the 450 students certified at NSIC Hyderabad this year, 100 completed advanced training in Artificial Intelligence, while 350 were trained in Coding & Programming, following a structured curriculum focused on practical application and industry relevance.

Strengthening India’s future-ready workforce

The Hyderabad programme is part of Samsung’s broader commitment to skill 20,000 youth across India in 2025 under Samsung Innovation Campus. Aligned with the Government of India’s Skill India and Digital India initiatives, SIC aims to bridge critical skill gaps and foster a culture of technology-led innovation across the country.

The programme places strong emphasis on inclusivity, with 42% women participation nationally, and active outreach to tier-2, tier-3 and semi-urban regions, ensuring equitable access to high-quality technology education.

By expanding access to in-demand digital skills and nurturing job-ready talent, Samsung Innovation Campus continues to strengthen India’s future-tech talent pipeline and support the country’s journey towards a digitally empowered economy.

In a country generating over 62 million tonnes of waste every year, a trio of Class 12 students of B. C. M. Arya Model Sr. Sec. School Ludhiana is proving that technology and empathy can drive real change. Abhishek Dhanda, Prabhkirat Singh, and Rachita Chandok have developed ‘Prithvi Rakshak’ (Protector of the Earth) — a smart, modular vermicomposting system that automates organic waste management and turns garbage into growth.

The innovation has earned the trio a spot among the four national winners of Samsung Solve for Tomorrow 2025, under the theme Environmental Sustainability through Technology. The winning teams received ₹1 crore incubation support at IIT Delhi’s FITT to refine their prototypes and scale their impact.

“We wanted composting to be faster, smarter and scalable,” says Abhishek.

“Our biggest learning was that empathy can be a design tool,” adds Rachita.

Traditional vermicomposting takes up to 90 days and requires significant space and manual handling. Prithvi Rakshak cuts the composting cycle by nearly 50 percent, from 90 days to just 30 days by combining sensors, modular compartments, and intelligent controls — making eco-friendly waste processing viable even in cities.

The system Vermikendra outputs:

• Vermicompost – nutrient-rich soil enhancer
• Vermiwash – natural liquid fertilizer
• Vermisticks – compact compost sticks for terrace gardens

“Our goal is to pilot this with municipalities and Smart City Missions,” says Prabhkirat.

“Innovation is about impact — and turning waste into a resource.”

Supported through Samsung’s flagship CSR programme, Solve for Tomorrow, and mentorship from experts at IIT Delhi, the students are now preparing to take their solution to farms, homes and cities across India — helping build a cleaner, circular future.
