RM joined Samsung at Art Basel in Basel 2025 to celebrate creativity, share his passion for art and spotlight how Samsung Art TVs and Samsung Art Store are making curated art experiences more accessible than ever before.

As an artist, collector and cultural voice, RM has long expressed his love for visual art — often sharing museum visits, artist insights and his own growing collection with the global audience. At Samsung’s ArtCube lounge, he reflected on what it means to live with art in a digital age, why accessibility matters and how technology is opening new doors for global discovery.

Art, Technology and the Everyday

“When I connect with a piece of art, it’s like having a silent conversation,” said RM. “Samsung Art TV lets those conversations happen anywhere. It makes it easier for people to discover artists, reflect on their own emotions and build a personal connection with the art they choose to live with.”

Known for his thoughtful approach to art and culture, RM took the opportunity to share his personal reflections. He spoke about how art has influenced his worldview and how platforms like Samsung Art TV offer an opportunity for everyone to make art a part of their daily lives.

▲ RM observes a piece by Kun-Yong Lee.

Through the Samsung Art TV’s expansive discovery features and curated collections, RM shared that he’s been exposed to a wider world of creativity — sparking curiosity and reshaping how he thinks about visual culture. He reflected on how digital platforms like Samsung Art Store are helping viewers break out of their comfort zones and pre-set tastes shaped by algorithms.

“Every space has a mood,” RM shared during the talk session. “And sometimes a single artwork or a frame can shift that feeling. I love that Samsung Art TV gives people the freedom to discover and live with art in a way that fits their everyday rhythm.”

A Personal Vision for the Future

RM also confirmed he is actively searching for a physical space to house his growing collection, an idea he’s hinted at in previous interviews. This gallery, he explained, would be rooted in a desire to connect East and West, past and present as well as personality and universality.

“I want to bring everything together into one space,” he said. “Maybe I’ll call it ‘rkive’ like my Instagram. It won’t be easy, but I want to try.”

▲ RM shares his thoughts on art during a talk session held at Art Basel in Basel 2025.

He expressed hope that, one day, his collection could be shared digitally through Samsung Art TV, reaching people around the world — especially those who can’t visit museums or galleries. “Unless you live in Seoul, it’s not easy to access museums or galleries to experience art in Korea.” He added that it would be great to have an ‘art bridge’ through Samsung Art TV one day, that would allow someone to “press a button and be led into a new world of art.”

Reimagining Art for Everyone

Samsung’s partnership with RM is rooted in a shared belief that technology can be a bridge to meaningful experiences. Whether it’s discovering a new artist, reinterpreting a classic or simply finding beauty in a quiet moment, Samsung Art TVs bring emotional and artistic depth to any space.

“RM’s sincerity and influence make him a natural partner for Samsung Art TV,” said Sofia Monteiro, Curator at Samsung Art Store Europe. “He’s someone who doesn’t just appreciate art — he lives with it. And that reflects exactly what our platform is all about.”

▲ “Talk With RM” at Art Basel in Basel

Through Samsung Art TVs, Samsung continues to redefine how people connect with art, turning walls into ever-evolving canvases and living spaces into curated galleries.

RM and Samsung Invite the World To Live With Art

As Samsung’s Art TV ambassador, RM continues to champion a more personal connection to art, design and culture. His partnership encourages art lovers everywhere to see creativity not as something reserved just for galleries but as something to bring into everyday life.

An all-new interpretation of “Over the Horizon” from SUGA of 21st century pop icons BTS was released today. ‘Over the Horizon 2022 Produced by SUGA of BTS’ is available to listen on Samsung Electronics’ social channels. Following the great success of his first remix at last year’s Galaxy Unpacked, SUGA has put an upbeat, positive new spin on Samsung’s signature musical theme “Over the Horizon” again for 2022.

Since the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S2 in 2011, when “Over the Horizon” was first debuted, Samsung has collaborated with several artists to reimagine its musical theme and create a signature sound that motivates people to challenge their limits. Globally known for his record producing ability, SUGA is the first artist to remix the song twice on top of producing a tune for the new editions of the Galaxy foldables.

SUGA’s goal when working on the ‘Over the Horizon 2022 Produced by SUGA of BTS’ was to encourage people to look forward to a bright future and think about what excitement is waiting ‘over the horizon.’ Subsequently, the new remix is all about positivity and brightness, and was composed so that when people hear it, they feel hopeful and upbeat.

From its origins as a rock-themed ringtone, the updated versions have put a variety of unique spins on the original theme, including new age, orchestral pop, fusion jazz and even a Nordic orchestra inspired spin. Much like the Galaxy ecosystem, “Over the Horizon” is constantly being updated to reflect what is happening in the world, and the partnerships forged with artists invited to remix the theme reflect the spirit of openness and collaboration that underline the Galaxy philosophy.

As excitement builds for the launch of the new Galaxy foldables, Samsung is delighted to invite SUGA to return to the mixing desk to create an all-new version and music video for ‘Over the Horizon 2022 Produced by SUGA of BTS.’

In addition, ‘Over the Horizon 2022 Produced by SUGA of BTS’ will be available as a ringtone through an upcoming software update on Galaxy devices.*

With the tablet as the canvas and the digital pen as the brush, the world of digital drawing unfolds, allowing you to capture beauty and bring what inspires you to life. Wherever you may be, simply turn on your tablet to transcend the limits of time and space and make colorful, multi-textured creations come alive.

Faster and more convenient due to their big-screen displays, Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S7 and S7+ offer users a new and better kind of canvas. Featuring an S Pen with significantly improved latency for smoother writing and drawing and a maximum 120Hz refresh rate that enables the display to react immediately to the strokes of the S Pen, the Galaxy Tab S7 and S7+ are bringing a new level of fluid input to tablet use.

To check it for herself, digital artist Young-eun Lee (a.k.a. mingmiraclegreen) tried drawing a picture with the S Pen on the Galaxy Tab S7+. Having previously drawn many portraits on tablets, she drew world-renowned boy band BTS (who have collaborated with Samsung a number of times) by using the Tracing feature that allows even beginners to create artworks by drawing on top of images placed beneath the canvas. Take a look at the video below to see, step by step, how a blank canvas on the Galaxy Tab S7+ is transformed into a work of art.

Describing My Experience with the Galaxy Tab S7+

A short interview with artist Young-eun Lee

Q1. Please introduce yourself.

I’m Young-eun Lee. I’m an artist also known as mingmiraclegreen. I’ve been working to create a variety of digital art since I first experienced the beauty of digital drawing, which is quite different from drawing by hand.

Q2. What was it like drawing on the Galaxy Tab S7+?

Even though I was using the Galaxy Tab S7+ for the first time, after using it for just a short time I found the drawing experience very comfortable – much like drawing with a pencil. I was most impressed with how sensitive the tablet is to the S Pen. Even tiny strokes for things like strands of hair were accurately recognized and reflected. The button on the side of the stylus that allows you to switch into eraser mode instantly is a great time-saver as well.

Lately, I’ve been suffering from wrist pain due to all the drawing I’ve done over the years. But the S Pen is lightweight and has a comfortable grip that protects your wrist during extended use. The S Pen’s battery is long-lasting and it charges rapidly, allowing you to stay focused on your drawing and avoid distractions.

Q3. Any tips or tricks for those who would like to draw on the Galaxy Tab S7+?

If you’re trying to recreate a photo, I recommend using the Multi Window feature that splits the screen into different parts. The navigation button at the bottom opens up the list of apps you’ve used recently. Here, just select the “Open in split screen view” option by pressing and holding the icon for the app of your choice. After that, you’ll be able to open another app in the remaining space, allowing you to have the photo you’re recreating on one side, and the illustration app on the other without having to switch back and forth all the time.

Q4. How was your experience drawing with the Clip Studio Paint program?

The Clip Studio Paint EX version app is offered to Galaxy Tab S7 and S7+ users free of charge for 6 months. I’ve tried it and noticed that it has a lot of great benefits. First, its interface is very similar to that of Photoshop, so Photoshop users will have no problem using it. The app comes with a wide selection of brushes, and makes it easier to save your work than some other apps. Also, the app automatically saves your previous color palettes to make it easier to recall them, removing the need to create them again from scratch.

Q5. What do you enjoy most about digital drawing?

First of all, drawing digitally allows you to draw anywhere, anytime using a broad range of materials. With analog drawing, you need to prepare a lot of materials and find a good spot to set up. But with digital, there are none of these restrictions.

Then there’s the huge advantage of being able to quickly and easily fix your mistakes. Any mistake made while drawing on a tablet is reversible, so it’s a great tool for beginners who are just starting out. So don’t be afraid – grab an S Pen and start drawing!
