Samsung, India’s largest consumer electronics brand, has certified 1,000 students in Maharashtra under its flagship CSR programme, Samsung

Samsung, India’s largest consumer electronics brand, has certified 1,000 students in Maharashtra under its flagship CSR programme, Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC), marking a significant step in strengthening the state’s digital skilling ecosystem and advancing the Government’s national skilling agenda.

The milestone also represents the first large-scale certification initiative of Samsung innovation Campus in the state, with students trained in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Coding & Programming two critical pillars of the digital economy. A total of 127 students from Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU), 373 students from Pimpri Chinchwad University, 250 students from D. Y. Patil University’s Ramrao Adik Institute of Technology and 250 students from Anjuman-I-islam’s Kalsekar Technical Campus successfully completed the programme, gaining hands-on, industry-aligned skills to solve real-world challenges.

Building on this technical foundation, the programme integrates soft skills training and career readiness modules, ensuring that students are not only job-ready but future-ready. This holistic approach reflects Samsung’s focus on bridging the gap between academic learning and industry expectations. Marking 30 years in India, Samsung continues to strengthen its commitment to advancing education and digital inclusion.

“India’s digital growth story will ultimately be shaped by the quality of its talent pipeline. As technologies like Al move from the periphery to the core of industries, skilling must evolve from basic training to building real world capability. At Samsung, we see programmes like Innovation Campus not just as education initiatives but as platforms to bridge this gap-combining deep tech learning with employability and problem-solving skills. This milestone in Maharashtra reflects how industry and academia can come together to create a future-ready workforce that is both globally competitive and locally relevant,” said Shubham Mukherjee, Head, CSR & Corporate Communications, Samsung Southwest Asia.

Launched in India in 2022, Samsung Innovation Campus is designed to democratise access to future-tech education by combining classroom learning with mentorship and project-based application. As the programme expands its footprint, it continues to empower young people across regions with the tools and confidence to participate in and shape-India’s digital growth story.

Aligned with this vision, Samsung Innovation Campus is scaling rapidly across India, having achieved the target of training 20,000 youth in 2025. The flagship CSR programme has also recorded 48% women participation nationally, underscoring Samsung’s commitment to building an inclusive and equitable technology ecosystem.

Implemented in collaboration with the Electronics Sector Skills Council of India (ESSCI) and the Telecom Sector Skill Council (TSSC), the initiative is part of Samsung’s broader effort to strengthen India’s skilling landscape.

Alongside programmes such as Samsung Solve for Tomorrow and Samsung DOST, it continues to nurture a new generation of innovators-equipped not just with technical skills but with the mindset to learn, build, and lead in a rapidly evolving, technology-driven world.

As a curious four-year-old, Himanshu Srivastava watched in awe as his father introduced him to their first computer, sparking an early fascination with technology. That moment ignited a passion for coding, leading him to build his first AI pong game at just nine years old. Today, Himanshu is a software engineer at a startup, turning his childhood dreams into a reality—thanks to the transformative power of Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC).

Hailing from Bihar and raised in West Bengal, Himanshu’s journey reflects resilience, curiosity, and the hunger to learn. While pursuing his degree at CIT in Bengaluru, he immersed himself in ideathons and contests, consistently earning accolades. But the turning point arrived when he discovered the SIC programme at Samsung R&D Institute India-Bangalore (SRI-B).

Aligned with the Government of India’s #SkillIndia and #DigitalIndia initiatives, SIC, Samsung’s flagship CSR initiative, focuses on improving the employability of the youth by training them in high-demand tech fields such as AI, Internet of Things, Big Data and Coding & Programming.

For Himanshu, SIC’s hands-on AI/ML curriculum stood apart from traditional theoretical courses. “The programme wasn’t just about learning concepts—it was about solving real-world problems with technology,” he said. Under the guidance of seasoned mentors, Himanshu sharpened his technical expertise, published a research paper and gained confidence to tackle complex problems.

Now, at Bik AI, Himanshu applies the critical thinking and problem-solving skills instilled in him through SIC. “The real-world challenges I face daily are much easier to manage thanks to the preparation I received inside and outside the classrooms at campus,” he said.

For Himanshu, SIC wasn’t just an opportunity—it was the catalyst that transformed his passion into a thriving career. His story is a testament to the power of practical learning and the impact of programmes such as SIC in nurturing the tech leaders of tomorrow.
