<p><em>Diwali</em>, the festival of lights, symbolising the victory of good over evil, was celebrated with enthusiasm across Samsung India’s offices. The company’s headquarters in Gurgaon was a sight to behold, with the entire office decorated with <em>diyas</em> (clay lamps), lanterns and balloons. Employees turned up in ethnic wear, creating an atmosphere of colour and fun.</p>
<p><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-1521" src="https://img.global.news.samsung.com/in/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/Two-resized-e1477893504817-1024x599.jpg" alt="Two resized" width="1024" height="599" /></p>
<p>To mark the festivity, a talent show was organised at the Gurgaon office. This show witnessed some great singing and dance performances.</p>
<p><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-1522" src="https://img.global.news.samsung.com/in/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/Rangoli-resized-e1477893905428-1024x650.jpg" alt="Rangoli resized" width="1024" height="650" /></p>
<p>In true <em>Diwali</em> tradition<em>, Rangoli</em> competitions were organised for employees across the country. <em>Rangoli,</em> an art form in which patterns are created on the floor using colourful materials or flower petals, is believed to bring good luck.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-1523" src="https://img.global.news.samsung.com/in/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/Three-resized-e1477894161660-1024x604.jpg" alt="Three resized" width="1024" height="604" /></p>
<p>Thirteen teams comprising over 60 employees participated in the <em>Rangoli</em> competition at the Gurgaon headquarter.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-1524" src="https://img.global.news.samsung.com/in/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/Four-resized-e1477894372363-1024x697.jpg" alt="Four resized" width="1024" height="697" /></p>
<p>The <em>Rangoli</em> competition at Gurgaon office was judged by Mr. B K Lee, HR Director of Samsung Electronics Southwest Asia (SWA) and Mr. Udaiy Khanna, Vice President, SIEL-S-HRM Group. The four parameters to judge the <em>Rangoli</em> competition were creativity, use of colours, neatness and overall design.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-1525" src="https://img.global.news.samsung.com/in/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/First-prize-resized-e1477894620349-1024x640.jpg" alt="First prize resized" width="1024" height="640" /></p>
<p>The first prize was won by the team comprising Sherry Monga, Ritu Kumari, Palky Mehta, Dimple Sharma, Palak Singla and Hitasha Vohra.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-1531" src="https://img.global.news.samsung.com/in/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/1st-Runner-Up-Rangoli-design-e1478056131750-1024x459.jpg" alt="1st Runner Up - Rangoli design" width="1024" height="459" /></p>
<p>At Samsung’s Research & Development Institute in Bangalore (RDI-Bangalore), the <em>Rangoli</em> competition was equally stiff, with each pattern depicting beautiful themes through vivid colors.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-1532" src="https://img.global.news.samsung.com/in/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/First-Position-Rangoli-competition-e1478056456287-1024x845.jpg" alt="First Position - Rangoli competition" width="1024" height="845" /></p>
<p>The internal jury in Bangalore had a tough time in selecting the winner as each team showcased mesmerizing illustrations with varied ingredients and colours. In the end, the winners (above) were decided unanimously.</p>
