Carrying forward the mission of Cashless and Digital India, Samsung has customized the Scan QR Code features to make it suitable for its users in India. This Scan QR feature is currently live on Samsung Pay compatible devices. Users must have the latest software to experience the Scan QR option.

Samsung’s R&D team built the Scan QR feature specifically for India as the country is witnessing a monumental growth in Scan and Pay. The Scan QR feature, with camera integration, solves the unique needs of Indian consumers and is consistent with Samsung’s ongoing efforts to increase the adoption of digital technology.

With camera and Scan QR integration, payments can be initiated with minimal clicks. The Scan QR feature also reduces the time invested in searching for Scan QR within the app before users can scan QR & make payments.

The QR Scan integration is being expanded to other Galaxy devices with FOTA and software updates. The Scan QR feature is live in select models and will be available for more devices with software updates. The Scan QR feature is currently live across Galaxy Z series, Galaxy S21 series, Galaxy S20 series, Galaxy Note20 series, Galaxy Note 10 series, Galaxy M series, Galaxy A series and Galaxy F series.

2. Open the camera and scan the UPI QR
3. Select the option to pay with Samsung Pay or Samsung Pay Mini

The doodler within me is forever waiting to sprint to converse with a diverse set of ideas and convince them that they can also exist meaningfully as doodles. And so the lockdown phase finds me blogging in text, transforming ideas into little chunks of podcasts(they’re still waiting to reach out) and gliding the S-pen on the reasonably large Galaxy Note screen to draw, sketch, and paint.

Burst of Colours on my Note

‘Isn’t this difficult?’ asked a friend once, and added, ‘I erase more than I draw and the page usually wears and tears sooner than I expect.’

Hmmm… I told him that my page exists in the digital universe and is immortal in many ways, if this is what matters. I then added that though using one’s finger-tip is permissible, an artistic nirvana is possible only with the S-pen.

Life, according to me, is what flows out of the tapering end of my S-pen… and in my hands it is what a wizard’s wand means to Harry Potter. My wand dives and brings up water colours, oil paints, chalks, charcoal, pencils, pens, markers, brushes, rollers, palette knives, tones, and textures. There are symmetries, strokes, and guides that pop up to help. All I need to do is to let my imagination and the technology of Galaxy Note merge seamlessly to create. ‘The power of technology,’ I said, ‘helps me bring my imagination to life.’

So far as my lockdown time-table is concerned, let me just say that I don’t have any. I have realized that flowing with the moment is probably the most immersive emotion that there is… and this is how I was able to convincingly say that the skies over Delhi are now clearer and bluer. One evening as I stood on my seventh floor terrace near Gole market in central Delhi, I aimed my camera in all directions and clicked a number of picture… and realized soon enough that a reasonable zoom had me staring at Qutub Minar that is around 14 km away as the crow flies. Astounding, isn’t it?

There is always one or the other immersive moment waiting to be beckoned and embraced. I believe it is the right time to hug as many varying tasks and skills as this may help us finally to discover what it is that we want to stay on in love with.

We shot the mood in Kolkata’s Kumartoli with Galaxy Note10+.

It was a pleasant afternoon and the iconic building was buzzing with excitement. The stage was set and it was almost time for journalists, media and guests to see the phone in flesh and blood, for the first time ever.

HC Hong, President and CEO Southwest Asia launched Galaxy Note10 amidst heavy cheer from the audience. “The new devices will appeal to millennials with their sleek design, stunning colors and power packed features that will keep them going all day,” he said.

Galaxy Note10 is aimed at the slash generation that often balances between two jobs and believes in work-life flow. This was the running theme through the entire event as young millennials from Samsung grabbed eyeballs with their impressive presentations. The young team at SRI-B the largest R&D centre outside Korea, wowed the audience as they unveiled several innovations created by their team, under Samsung ‘Make for India’ and ‘Make for the World’ initiatives.

Meanwhile, the audience could barely contain their excitement to go hands-on with this wonderful piece of tech, particularly the S-Pen that works like a magic wand. As the experience zone was opened up, the enthusiasm and appreciated for the device peaked.

The journalists experiences the phones for the first time and had a lot to say about the devices. One of the audience members said, “It’s a very smart step to diversify such an iconic series into two phone sizes. This is definitely going to make consumers’ lives easier.”

“This launch combined the legacy of the Opera House with the legacy of the Note series. That’s what I loved about the experience,” said another.
