For generations, Gujarat’s entrepreneurial spirit has powered businesses, industries and community-led progress, making it one of India’s most dynamic centers of innovation and opportunity. Bringing this spirit of problem-solving to the next generation, Samsung India conducted a Design Thinking Workshop under its flagship Solve for Tomorrow (SFT) 2026 programme in Adani Vidya Mandir, Ahmedabad, where over 108 students explored how technology and human-centred design can be used to solve real-world challenges.

The workshop, part of a nationwide 100-city rollout, introduced participants to Samsung’s Design Thinking framework, helping them identify local challenges, understand user needs and transform observations into scalable, technology-driven solutions.

Samsung Solve for Tomorrow is Samsung India’s flagship innovation and education programme for young people aged 14–22 years. The fifth edition encourages participants to develop solutions across four themes — AI for a Better Tomorrow, Health & Education, Environmental Sustainability, and Sport-Tech.

During the Ahmedabad workshop, students developed ideas addressing a range of community challenges. Saanvi Nair, a Class 9 student from Adani Vidya Mandir, applied sustainable engineering principles to rural logistics after identifying a pressing storage deficit.

“Workers and farmers in villages often struggle to store grains, water and food,” she said, inspiring her concept for an eco-friendly, portable solar-powered refrigerator.

Focusing on tech-enabled preventative wellness and consumer safety, fellow student Vaishvi Kashti shared “Many doctors say that we are getting sick from eating food that has harmful substances or ingredients,” leading her to propose an intelligent, real-time scanning device to validate food quality.

Similarly, targeting industrial automation and risk mitigation, Kruti Rana highlighted that “Industries and factories often catch fire easily because of some technical issues in their machinery,” driving her to conceptualise an automated IoT-alert system to pre-empt mechanical failures.

The solutions emerging from the workshop reflected the diversity of innovation opportunities across Gujarat. From sustainability and food safety to industrial automation, students showcased how local challenges can become starting points for impactful innovation.

As Samsung marks 30 years in India, it is significantly expanding the scale of Solve for Tomorrow through Design Thinking Workshops across Bharat, creating opportunities for young innovators from diverse backgrounds to build future-ready problem-solving, innovation and entrepreneurial skills.

Applications for Samsung Solve for Tomorrow 2026 remain open until July 3, 2026. The top four winning teams will receive incubation grants worth INR 2 crore through FITT, IIT Delhi, along with mentorship, training, prototyping support and access to India’s startup ecosystem.

From the dynamic classrooms of Pune to the imaginative spaces of Kolhapur and the inquisitive minds of Vadodara, the Samsung Solve for Tomorrow roadshows have sparked a surge of creativity and purpose across Maharashtra and Gujarat.

Launched on April 29, 2025, Samsung Solve for Tomorrow is a pan-India competition that empowers students with tools, mentorship, and resources to address real-world challenges through technology. With guidance from Samsung leaders, IIT Delhi faculty, and support for prototyping, the programme awards INR 1 crore to the top four teams. However, its true essence lies in motivating young minds to dream ambitiously and act decisively.

Recent roadshows at DPS School and Munsukhbhai Kothari School in Pune, SPSMBH College of Architecture and NIT Sabhagruh in Kolhapur, and New Era School and Anand Vidya Vihar School in Vadodara highlighted the programme’s transformative influence.

In Pune, Aakash, a class 11 student, arrived with a vague concept but left with a clear vision for sustainable packaging. “Samsung Solve for Tomorrow showed me I can turn this idea into reality,” he expressed.

In Vadodara, Rohan from Anand Vidya Vihar designed wireframes for a mobile app aimed at making education accessible for remote learners. “I want to ensure children like my cousin aren’t left behind,” he shared.

In Kolhapur, architecture student Ishan found inspiration in leveraging technology to revive local crafts. “It’s about connecting the past with the future,” he explained.

Throughout the sessions, students proposed innovative solutions — from smart agriculture tools to mental health platforms and affordable solar innovations. What united them was a shared commitment to driving change and a belief in their potential.

“These ideas are driven by empathy,” remarked a teacher at the Pune event. “They’re creating solutions to help others, not for recognition.”

The roadshows introduced design thinking, encouraging students to question, empathise, define, and prototype. It was about understanding the ‘why’ behind the ‘what.’

As Samsung Solve for Tomorrow continues to grow, its impact is evident: it’s not just fostering innovation but shaping a future where classroom ideas can transform the world.

The new experience store will host a diverse range of Galaxy workshops as part of the ‘Learn @ Samsung’ program. These workshops are designed for tech-savvy individuals, with a particular focus on Gen Z and millennials. The workshops will cover a wide range of topics aligned with the interests of consumers, including digital art, doodling, photography, videography, fitness, cooking, coding, music, and events celebrating the local culture and values of the city.

Consumers visiting the store in the first two weeks after the opening will get 2X loyalty points and Galaxy Buds2 at INR 2999 on purchases of Samsung products worth INR 15000 & above. In addition, consumers will also get a bank cashback of 10% on credit and debit cards of all leading banks.

Created with articulately drawn lines and dots in vibrant colors, Gond painting is a famous folk art of the Gond tribal community of central India. Blended with mystery, pattern, blend of colours and humour, this tribal art form is practiced by one of the largest tribes in India – the Gond – who are predominantly from Madhya Pradesh, but can also be found in pockets of Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha.
