Samsung Solve for Tomorrow Season 4 has made its way to South India, fueling a wave of youth-driven innovation. Across the dynamic campuses of Hyderabad and the bustling tech hubs of Bengaluru, students are uniting to envision a brighter future for their communities, armed with empathy, purpose, and the principles of design thinking.

Samsung ‘Solve for Tomorrow 2025’ will provide INR 1 crore to the top four winning teams to support the incubation of their projects, along with hands-on prototyping, investor connects, and expert mentorship from Samsung leaders and IIT Delhi faculty.

At the University of Hyderabad, hundreds of students immersed themselves in a design thinking workshop, challenging the status quo and uncovering solutions to everyday problems.

“For me, the turning point was when the instructor said, ‘There are countless problems in the world, but only a few who take action to solve them,’” said R. Deepika, a Business Analytics student. “That statement inspired me to become one of those problem-solvers and create meaningful impact.”

Mukta, a Healthcare and Hospital Management student, also experienced a shift in perspective. “This session taught me to think like an entrepreneur. A simple idea can transform the world, and now I’m determined to bring mine to life,” she said.

The momentum didn’t stop in there. At KG Reddy Engineering College in Hyderabad, D. Ganesh Reddy, a BTech Computer Science Engineering student, left the workshop with a clear understanding of how technology can address local challenges.

“The session showed me that student ideas can lead to real-world change if we approach them with curiosity and structure,” he said.

Similarly, over 500 students from top institutions like Jain University, Dr. Chandrama Dayanand Sagar Institute of Medical Education and Research, and Kempowda Institute of Medical Sciences gathered to explore design thinking and innovation in action.

“This workshop opened my eyes to the problems in my own community,” said Joel J, a second-semester B.Tech student. “For the first time, I realized I could be the one to solve them.”

A Movement for Innovation

Across these cities, the workshops have done more than generate ideas—they’ve sparked confidence. Confidence that young minds, with the right mindset and guidance, can drive transformative change.

As Solve for Tomorrow continues its journey across India, it’s not just expanding its reach—it’s unlocking new possibilities. From Hyderabad to Bengaluru and soon to regions like the North-East, the program is cultivating a future powered by student-led innovation.

Applications are open, and the next generation of problem-solvers is already in motion.

Let the ideas flow.

At an education and innovation roadshow organized by Samsung India in Hyderabad young college students came forward and identified problems that people and society are facing in the state and the country, pledging to Solve for Tomorrow.

Students in Hyderabad said they want to solve real-world problems such as limited access to education, language barriers in learning, excessive pollution, manufacturing and agricultural inefficiencies, lack of healthcare support, limited agricultural knowledge, among others. They said they require a platform such as Samsung’s Solve for Tomorrow education and innovation competition that can guide and support them in turning their ideas into action and help transform people’s lives.

Nineteen-year-old Vardhini Bandapelly saw Solve for Tomorrow as her chance to take an idea she has had on digital education of primary students to the next level.

“Getting a chance to work on the ideas for a better tomorrow is something that is empowering to me,” said Vardhini, who studies engineering at Guru Nanak Institutions in Hyderabad.

The event, which was organized to talk about Samsung’s global CSR program Solve for Tomorrow, was attended by over 500 students in Hyderabad alongside young innovators from the city – Dr. Satyanaryana Kuchibhatla, co-founder, Parisodhana Technologies that works in the field of healthcare and wellness products, Mr. R Shanmukha Rao, innovator, who has worked towards making complex agricultural equipment accessible and affordable to small farmers/land owners and Mr. Shrikanth Reddy, Data Scientist and Founder, Hala Mobility, which works in the space of sustainable mobility.

These innovators, who currently run successful social enterprises, spoke to the students about their experiences of success and failure and their vision to transform communities around them.

“Young innovators have a crucial role to play in society. They are the ones who can convert ideas into a reality and with Solve for Tomorrow, their ideas will have wings that no one can clip. They’re only going to fly higher and higher. This is a perfect platform for bright young minds of Hyderabad,” said Dr. Kuchibhatla.

The inaugural edition of Solve for Tomorrow is inviting applications from youth in India aged 16-22 years in the areas of Education, Environment, Healthcare and Agriculture. Youth can send in their ideas to participate in the program till 5 pm on July 31, 2022.
