Whether for work or play, most of us use the internet for hours every day. And when we do, we want the peace of mind that comes with knowing everything we’re doing online — whether we’re browsing for our next shopping spree or working on an important document — stays safe and secure. With Samsung Galaxy, we’ve got you protected so you can use the internet more securely wherever you go.

Secure Wi-Fi:

With Samsung’s Secure Wi-Fi, you can work from wherever you’re most comfortable. This feature lets you browse the internet safely, even when using unsecured, public Wi-Fi networks, offering complete and secure protection by encrypting internet traffic. For enhanced privacy protection, you can even route your internet traffic through two separate relays so no one can access your IP address. This is especially effective when you’re working remotely in public spaces.

To use Secure Wi-Fi, go to Settings, Security and Privacy, and select More Security Settings. From there, tap into Secure Wi-Fi, and you’re on your way. You can also add the Secure Wi-Fi icon directly to your home screen for easy access to the app.

▲ Settings > Security and privacy > More security settings > Secure Wi-Fi

With Galaxy, you can work remotely with greater peace of mind, knowing that your sensitive data and information are less susceptible to the potential threats of public networks. Secure Wi-Fi even offers free protection of up to 1024 MB per month, automatically enabled upon connection,1 with additional plans available at any time for those who wish to upgrade.

Samsung Internet:

Samsung Internet brings user-centric security and privacy features to web browsing, enabling you to freely browse your favorite websites while keeping your privacy protected. Under Samsung Internet, we’ve created a myriad of features all geared towards keeping you and your online experience safe.

First, the browser offers a comprehensive overview of how it protects your web experience, detailed in your Privacy Dashboard, available via the Quick Access page. This offers a detailed record of weekly activities and settings that can be adjusted to suit your privacy preferences, whenever you choose. To find this, go to the browser, tap the three lines icon, and select Privacy.

For extra security, Samsung Internet also enables private environments with Secret Mode. This could come in handy while shopping for a gift you want to keep a surprise from anyone who might have access to your device. With this option, you’ll get the same browsing experience as you would normally experience on Samsung Internet, but with extra privacy and protection. Cookies and browsing history for any websites you visit in Secret Mode will be deleted from your phone as soon as all your Secret Mode tabs are closed. You can even save pages and bookmarks, but anything you save will only be visible in Secret Mode. To use this feature, go to Samsung Internet, and from the main screen, tap on the Tab Manager icon on the bottom where you can manage your open pages. Activate Secret Mode by tapping “Turn on Secret mode”.

▲ Settings > Security and privacy > More security settings > Secure Wi-Fi

Samsung Internet also provides the AI-powered Smart Anti-tracking function, which is turned on by default. This feature helps to block cookies and third-parties attempting to track your personal information, as well as preventing cross-site trackers from using techniques for getting around tracker blocking. Smart Anti-tracking also lets you default to a safer HTTPS setting when typing a URL and can detect and apply protection against domains that collude with classified trackers. To use Smart Anti-tracking, go into the Privacy Dashboard within Samsung Internet, and tap Smart Anti-tracking.

Finally, Samsung Internet enables Ad Blocker. We know that when you’re browsing you might encounter ads that you want to get rid of for a more seamless experience. That’s why we’ve enabled you to download third-party ad blockers. To block ads via Samsung Internet, launch the Samsung Internet app and tap the three lines icon (menu), before selecting Ad blockers. Here, we’ll recommend a selection of blockers for you to choose from and download.

With your Samsung Galaxy device, there’s no need to worry about when and where you can surf the web. We’ve thought of it all and we’ve put measures in place to keep you protected during your online experience — no matter where you are.

Samsung Electronics today released Samsung Internet 19.0 beta,1 which provides new powerful features to help protect users against online threats from trackers and makes the browsing experience more convenient than ever. The beta version is available for download on the Google Play Store and Samsung Galaxy Store.

“Trackers are becoming increasingly sophisticated at avoiding detection and collecting personal information without the awareness or consent of the person being tracked,” says Janghyun Yoon, EVP and Head of S/W Platform at Mobile eXperience Business, Samsung Electronics. “We want users to have the safest, smoothest browsing experience possible. That’s why we have improved Smart anti-tracking, to give users more control over their privacy so they can browse with peace of mind.”

Improved Private Browsing With Smart Anti-Tracking and Enhanced Phishing Detection

Samsung Internet 18.0 brought improvements to the Smart anti-tracking functionality, helping prevent cross-site trackers from using techniques for getting around tracker blocking. This Smart anti-tracking prevented trackers from using advanced redirecting techniques such as Canonical Name (CNAME) cloaking or delayed bounce to collect user data.

Now, this latest iteration of Samsung Internet will take the AI-powered function a step further. Enhanced Smart anti-tracking aims to detect domains that collude with classified trackers and immediately apply protection.

Improved lookalike phishing detection is designed to warn users when they have unwittingly navigated to what they thought was a trusted website but is a fraudulent site using a similar URL — so they don’t reveal personal information to malicious actors.

Quickly Check Important Privacy Settings With the Tap of a Button

Samsung Internet 19.0 beta helps users easily check their tracking protection with the new Privacy Info feature. By simply tapping the Lock Icon in the address bar, users can verify how secure their connection is to the website, see how many trackers have been blocked, check for and delete cookies and instantly allow or block permissions for location, camera and microphone.2

Improvements for Navigating Swiftly and Simply — Even in Secret Mode

Navigating Samsung Internet was made simpler in version 18.0, which introduced text extraction from webpage images and rolled out the Bottom Toolbar for the first time in the Galaxy Z Fold series. Now, Samsung Internet 19.0 beta continues to make navigating the web more intuitive.

The Add-ons menu is a great way for users to personalize and enhance their browsing experience. With Samsung Internet 19.0 beta, these add-ons now work in Secret mode, so users don’t need to choose between privacy and customized experiences. The features can be turned on and off easily from the Add-ons menu, for greater control.

Samsung Electronics today announced a new update to Samsung Internet, its fast, easy and reliable web browser. Samsung Internet 13.0 introduces a series of new features and enhancements designed to offer users a better and safer browsing experience.

“At Samsung, we’re always optimizing our products and services to offer the best experience to our users,” said Du Kim, VP and Head of Web R&D Group, Mobile Communications Business, Samsung Electronics. “Our lives are increasingly lived online, as people try to stay informed and connected, so we wanted to make it easier for everyone to enjoy the best the internet has to offer with peace of mind, knowing you can count on us to keep you safe.”

Protecting You From Prying Eyes

These days, it’s hard to know which website you can trust. Samsung Internet 13.0 offers a new permission request UI that will display a warning message if a website seems malicious and is attempting to trick users into allowing notifications. And since we know how much privacy means to our users, Secret mode allows them to automatically clear their browsing history as soon as all their Secret mode tabs are closed. A new Secret mode icon will also be displayed on the address bar as part of the Samsung Internet 13.0 update, so that it’s easier to know when it’s switched on. For more information about Secret mode, check out the new About Secret mode section.

Samsung Internet is a powerful browser with enhanced security features for Android devices, especially Galaxy smartphones. Several teams working out of Samsung R&D Institutes in Bengaluru, Noida and other global centres, contributed to make Samsung Internet simple, fast and reliable. Here’s a look at what makes Samsung Internet browser powerful and secure.

The Secret Mode

The Secret Mode on Samsung Internet provides an additional level of security with iris or biometric authentication. Secret Mode never stores your browsing data (including browsing history, search history, cookie, cache, ID/password, auto-fill data). It stores bookmarks and saved pages in a separate space with encryption, using the same level of security as Samsung Knox.

Secure Web Auto Login

Samsung Internet for Android is the sole browser that also offers login using biometric authentication such as iris and fingerprint scanners. It provides a simpler but more secure way for users to login to sites.

This allows a seamless transition from working on the go to working at the desk.
