Samsung India’s new film depicting the real life story of Seema Nagar – a young village girl who breaks stereotypes to achieve her dreams – has received an overwhelming response on social networking platform YouTube. The 3 minute 30 second-digital film, uploaded on YouTube five days back, has received nearly 17 million hits so far.

Ms. Nagar studied at Samsung Technical School in Jaipur. She is now a trained technician at a Samsung Service Center in the Pink City. She plans to open a service center in her village soon.

The film showcases how Samsung cares for dreams of girls in India. Shot in Jaipur and Pushkar over four days, the film also features a song by Wadali Brothers, one of the greatest proponents of Sufi music in the world today. This is the first time that the legends have lent their voices to an ad film.

Samsung Technical Schools, part of Samsung’s ‘Make for India’ initiative, contribute to the government’s ‘Skill India’ program. As part of the curriculum, students are offered Advanced Repair and Industrial Skills Enhancement (A.R.I.S.E.) program, resulting in trade-specific training on various aspects of repair and troubleshooting for consumer electronics products such as mobile phones, televisions, home theatres and home appliances.

Through its Samsung Technical School initiative, Samsung aims to support the government’s vision to make India a global manufacturing hub by addressing the need for skilled manpower with practical know-how and relevant industry experience.
