The Integration of ‘Find Care’ into Samsung Health will eliminate the need to switch between multiple apps. It will allow direct access to a range of healthcare services through PharmEasy and Tata 1mg. Users can order medicines, book diagnostic tests and consult doctors online. To enhance the value proposition, PharmEasy will provide a launch offer that grants all Samsung Health users a six-month complimentary PharmEasy Plus membership upon completing their first transaction via the Samsung Health app.

Samsung Health on Galaxy devices allows users to monitor their health and track key wellness metrics such as physical activity, heart rate, blood pressure, ECG, sleep patterns and calorie intake. Users can also set medication reminders and access their Health Records conveniently. The launch of ‘Find Care’ reinforces Samsung’s focus on user-centric innovation and its mission to create a holistic digital health ecosystem for its users.

Samsung R&D Institute, Noida (SRI-Noida), has strengthened its commitment to industry-academia collaboration by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay).

Under this MoU, SRI-Noida and IIT Bombay will explore breakthroughs in artificial intelligence (AI), digital health, and other critical areas. The five-year partnership will facilitate joint research projects, providing IIT Bombay students and faculty an opportunity to collaborate with Samsung engineers.

This approach will not only open newer avenues for the students, but will enhance their industry readiness. In addition, it will equip Samsung engineers with specialized training and certification programmes from IIT Bombay in emerging technologies such as digital health and AI.

The MoU was formally signed by Kyungyun Roo, Managing Director of SRI-Noida, and Prof. Upendra V. Bhandarkar, Associate Dean of Research and Development at IIT Bombay. The event, which took place at IIT Bombay, was attended by faculty members from the Koita Centre for Digital Health (KCDH), including Prof. Ranjith Padinhateeri, Head of KCDH, Prof. Nirmal Punjabi and Dr. Raghavendran Lakshminarayanan.

Samsung Research Institute, Noida (SRI-N), hosted the inaugural Academic Summit 1.0 in October, marking a transformative moment in interdisciplinary collaboration.

Bringing together top minds from industry and academia, this first-of-its-kind event highlighted the power of knowledge exchange and innovation to shape the future of education, research, and technological advancements in India.

The summit drew distinguished attendees, including directors, deans, and professors from prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) such as IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay, IIT Kanpur, and IIT Ropar and members from Samsung headquarters. The gathering underscored the importance of fostering partnerships between academia and industry, with a focus on cutting-edge fields such as, Visual AI, Graph Neural Networks (GNN), Neuro-symbolic AI, and Health AI.

The event kicked off with a keynote address by KY Roo, Managing Director of SRI-N, who welcomed the attendees and highlighted the summit’s potential to redefine the future of research and innovation. “The Academic Summit 1.0 aims to create a collaborative platform where academic brilliance meets industrial ingenuity. Insights from IIT Leaders

Among the notable speakers were Prof. Rajeev Ahuja, Director of IIT Ropar, and Prof. Tarun Gupta, Dean of IIT Kanpur, who emphasized the need for deeper engagement between academia and industry. They stressed how joint efforts could fuel innovation, enhance the internationalization of education, and ensure timely delivery of impactful research to industries.

Prof. Ahuja highlighted that IITs, with their strong intellectual foundation, have an unmatched potential to collaborate with industry leaders such as Samsung to create transformative technologies. Prof. Santosh Kumar Vipparthi shared research works on Deep Learning-based Burst Super Resolution, exploring how AI can improve imaging technologies.

Prof. Sayan Ranu presented on Graph Neural Networks and their applications for Samsung Electronics, a key innovation area for data processing.

Prof. Koteswar Rao Jerripothula delved into Dichotomous Segmentation via the aggregation of various foreground detection models, providing potential advancements in image analysis.

Prof. Tushar Sandhan showcased innovative approaches to portrait background generation with pose and light constraints, addressing visual enhancement.

Prof. Kshitij Jadhav discussed AI and machine learning’s role in revolutionizing healthcare, with a particular focus AI models high accuracy on low-labeled data.

Prof. Srikanta Bedathur presented on Multimodal and Neuro-Symbolic AI for Knowledge Graph Questioning Answering (KGQA).

The bustling heart of Noida’s tech hub witnessed the gathering of Galaxy enthusiasts from the Samsung Members community at the second Samsung Members Connect event. Hosted by Samsung R&D Institute India, Noida, the event oversaw 3,300 registrations and hosted 58 select attendees to explore the frontiers of Samsung’s Galaxy ecosystem.

Samsung Members is a peer-led community dedicated to enriching the experiences of Galaxy users and a space for them to share their experiences, favorite features and connect.

Members Connect gave these Galaxy enthusiasts a chance to directly interact and engage with the bright minds behind Samsung’s famed Galaxy ecosystem.

“We planned this event for two purposes. Understanding and learning from our customers which helps our next developments. We prepared tech sessions explaining solutions which our tech experts develop,” said Kyungyun Roo, Managing Director, SRI-Noida.

The one-day event comprised of a series of insightful sessions around What’s New, Intelligent Solutions, Samsung Health, Samsung Wallet, Samsung Internet and Camera Features along with engaging activities and quizes.

Additionally, all attendees received a goodie bag. Ten lucky Members won Galaxy Buds2 Pro in a lucky draw, and 29 quiz and contest winners received Power banks.

With a positive user feedback of 96%, the event was a huge success and a delightful display of love by Samsung Members.

Thousands of Samsung Members and Fans are extremely passionate about their Galaxy Ecosystem. Some of them are also Samsung’s brand ambassadors who share their Galaxy experiences with the world. They are the most fun loving, motivated and excited bunch of people who are always up for new experiences.

To motivate our young members even further, Samsung recently had its first Members Connect event at Samsung Research Institute, Noida.

Members Connect gave them a chance to explore the idea and innovations behind their favourite Galaxy Devices. The one-day event comprised of sessions across Galaxy S23 Camera, One UI 5, Good Lock, Quick Share and Samsung Health by tech & design experts from SRI-Noida, SRI-Bangalore and Samsung Design Delhi.

“Our strategy is to enhance our technical expertise to enrich each Samsung users mobile experience,” said Kyungyun Roo, Managing Director, SRI-Noida.

Basis the same strategy, the connect event got a fantastic response from the Members with hundreds of registrations. It was an overwhelming display of love and trust from Samsung members.

For the first time at SRI Noida, Members met the teams working behind Galaxy devices to understand the stories of all the hard work that goes into creating each of the small elements that ultimately give them a product.

The special focus at the event remained of the latest, Samsung S23 Ultra so that members can have an enhances user experience. They were super excited to learn the nuances of One UI, Goodlock, Camera, S Health, Quick Share and Expert Raw on S23 Ultra.

“It was a great experience visiting SRI Noida. It was nice interactive session with Tech leaders. I like the friendly atmosphere while interacting with young energetic people. Now I know what amount of effort goes into creating a wholesome user experience,” said Samsung Member Vivek Kumar.

Another Member, Rakesh added, “It was amazing, loved all the sessions and interacting with everyone. It was awesome and they were so humble and were ready to listen. I got to know a lot about One UI, Samsung Health and Power of Expert Raw. The event was amazing, seriously so much to learn and understand, want more events like this.”

When you step into the all new studio of Samsung Design Delhi (SDD), in Noida, you get the feeling you are walking into an art gallery, not an office. The modern art work on the walls are all conceptualized by SDD designers and this space invokes a feeling of inspiration.

The new open studio has been designed by the people who work here, SDD designers, around the concepts of creativity, innovation and collaboration. It reflects the collective aspirations of everyone here.

Focusing on elevating the spirit of open innovation through design research, the SDD studio is strategically placed along with Samsung R&D Institute, Noida at Candor TechSpace.

This all-new studio of SDD challenges the traditional notion of how a workspace should be!

As you pass through the arrival experience, spaces seamlessly transition between the themes of creation, collaboration and celebration. Natural wood tones and the greens of the plants contribute to the bright, open feel of the office. The entire office space carries with it the feeling that ideas are sown and nurtured here.

Thoughtfully crafted open workspaces with height adjustable desks in wooden finish create a comfortable and spacious zone for designers to innovate and create. Expansive floor to ceiling windows bring in an abundance of natural light, creating an openness for the collaborative areas arranged alongside these windows.

These areas range from small and large huddle spaces to informal lounges tastefully designed with a variety of seating formats in neutral tones.

“Samsung Design Delhi is proud to turn a new chapter in 2022 with its brand new studio space. It is a bright open space that cultivates the right environment for innovation. The synergy and seeds of the innovation are driven through strong collaboration with our R&D centres across India & beyond. We bring together the epitome of creativity for our consumers from this new space,” said Mr. KD Park, Managing Director, Samsung Design Delhi.

Adjacent to the collaborative spaces is Rang (Color), the Color, Material and Finish (CMF) lab with specialized equipment that provides a sensory creative space for designers with a varied collection of mood boards and objects for inspiration.

The Ideation Room, Soch (Thought) has been strategically planned to enable cross company collaboration and synergy with key local stakeholders from Samsung R&D centers, marketing and consumer experience teams across India to align on a common vision.

The warm neutral ambience of the Social Lounge, filled with lots of natural light, gives a comfortable café like feel. It has been designed to offer an escape from work as well as provide spontaneous interactions, open communication, and rich collaborations.

Similar to the user centric design process of Samsung, this exemplary studio space of SDD is thoughtfully designed to enable a variety of social interactions and work styles, keeping its designers at the core.

At the other end of the studio is the Open Library which is filled with inspiration in the form of books, Indian artefacts, prototypes and snippets drawn from the design teams’ projects, their wanderings and their collective passions. This space is mindful of sensory stimuli and provides transition zones between working areas to enable designers to recalibrate their senses.

Transparency is maintained in every aspect of this studio space. The meeting rooms are partitioned through a clear glass allowing a seamless work atmosphere.

Each of these rooms have been named in Sanskrit after the key elements of Design: Disha (Direction), Bhaav (Emotion), Satah (Surface), Bindu (Dot), Aakar (Form). Through the studio space, you can see artworks made by SDD designers on the walls.

SDD is one of the largest Samsung Global Design studios alongside ones in London, San Francisco, Tokyo, Beijing, and Sao Paulo. It acts as a gateway to create holistic design solutions with authentic local inspirations to build globally successful products.

Samsung Design Delhi creates a complete product and service experience across smartphones, digital appliances, visual display and wearables. Designers at SDD, continually empathize with and consider customers’ lives as the DNA of their innovation, “Inspired by humans, creating the future”.

In an effort to build awareness on plastic waste, employee volunteers from the Samsung Research Institute in NOIDA or SRI-N team visited a government primary school- Prathmik Vidyalaya Hazratpur Wajidpur in NOIDA.

Children are the future and it is important to educate them. Keeping this in mind, the main aim of the visit was to educate and create awareness about the environment among the students. In an interactive session, young bright minds discussed the causes and solution of environmental pollution. The enthusiastic bunch came forward with ideas to educate their parents on recycling, pollution and particularly plastic waste.

To raise awareness on plastic and its irreversible damage to the planet, a short awareness video was shown to the students highlighting the extent of plastic damage to the natural ecosystem and its effect.

The volunteers prepared a skit to show the past, the present and the future of the human race with respect to the environment. It showed the grim reality of extinction, if measures to prevent the adverse impact of plastic are not taken soon. A painting competition was held with Environment as its central theme — Paryavaran Bachao.

The winners of the competition were awarded with beautiful potted plants. The team also distributed eco-friendly bags and food packets which can be re-used for shopping and thus, taking the first step to eliminate plastic from this planet.

Samsung believes that sensitizing Gen Z from a young age can help save our environment. After all, awareness is the first step to solving a problem. So this Environment Day, let’s change the world together, one step at a time.
