Unveiling Galaxy AI: A Momentous Experience

The highlight of the event was the first-ever unveiling of the Galaxy S24 series at Galaxy Unpacked 2024. Samsung Members Stars were some of the first to witness the groundbreaking device, complete with cutting-edge mobile AI features aimed to empower users in their everyday lives.

“For me, it was spectacular. From the moment we entered the venue, we were met with the Galaxy S24’s many innovations from Live Translate, Note Assist to Edit suggestion, the first-hand experiences with the new designs and various options, to even the announcement of what’s to come in the Galaxy Ring. It was all jaw-dropping,” exclaimed Neus Valles, a Samsung Member Star from Spain.

Samsung Members Stars were excited to get hands-on with the Galaxy S24 series and Galaxy AI in the “Product Experience Zone.”

Deep Dives Into Mobile AI Innovation

Samsung designed special educational sessions exclusively for Samsung Members Stars, covering topics like the Galaxy S24 series’ design story, Galaxy S24 101 and next-generation camera capabilities. These sessions provided valuable insights into the heart of Samsung’s mobile AI vision.

Using Galaxy S24’s Live Translate feature — a two-way, real-time voice and text translation of phone calls within the native app — Samsung Members Stars from different backgrounds seamlessly communicated and collaborated, demonstrating how Galaxy AI can help bridge language barriers and cultural divides. The Circle to Search feature, which allows users to obtain information by simply drawing a circle on a photo or video, further showcased the intuitive and convenient nature of Galaxy AI.

“I hope the new era of AI kickstarted by Samsung will help our lives become that much more convenient going forward,” shared a Samsung Member Star from Malaysia who expressed his excitement for what will unfold with Galaxy mobile AI.

Connecting the World Through AI

At the workshop, Samsung representatives and Samsung Members Stars came together to deep dive into the Samsung ecosystem and discuss the lives of Samsung Members. Both groups connected across the globe via messenger, using the Galaxy S24’s Chat Assist feature for clear, barrier-free communication.

Moreover, participants enjoyed a “San Jose Spot Tour” using the Galaxy S24 series to complete missions and explore various attractions in San Pedro Square Market, Santana Row, Santa Cruz, and more.

“We explored the streets of San Jose and took photos with the various murals as the backdrop. Using the Galaxy S24’s Generative Edit enabled me to add a personal touch to the photos which was an added bonus,” said Alex Cámara, a Samsung Members Stars from Mexico.

The event concluded with a gala dinner, celebrating the achievements of Samsung Members Stars and fostering a sense of community.

A Glimpse Into the Future of Mobile AI

Samsung Members Connect 2024 served as a powerful platform for Samsung Electronics to connect with its most passionate advocates and showcase the boundless potential of mobile AI. The event provided valuable insights into the future direction of Galaxy and reinforced Samsung’s commitment to creating a better Galaxy experience for everyone.

Samsung is the first Google Cloud partner to deploy Gemini Pro on Vertex AI to consumers. Built from the ground up to be multimodal, Gemini can generalize and seamlessly understand, operate across, and combine different types of information including text, code, images, and video. Starting with Samsung-native applications, users can take advantage of the summarization feature across Notes, Voice Recorder, and Keyboard.¹ Gemini Pro on Vertex AI provides Samsung with critical Google Cloud features, including security, safety, privacy, and data compliance.

Galaxy S24 series users can also immediately benefit from Imagen 2, Google’s most advanced text-to-image diffusion technology from Google DeepMind to date. With Imagen 2 on Vertex AI, Samsung can bring safe and intuitive photo-editing capabilities into users’ hands. These features can be found in Generative Edit² in S24’s Gallery application.

As part of this partnership, Samsung is also one of the first customers to test Gemini Ultra, Google’s most capable and largest model for highly-complex tasks. The S24 series will also use Gemini Nano, an on-device LLM delivered as part of the Android 14 operating system, the most efficient model of Gemini for on-device tasks.
