Smt. Anandiben Patel, Hon’ble Governor of Uttar Pradesh has launched Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC) 2026 in the state, under which 5,000 young people will receive industry-relevant Artificial Intelligence (AI) training.

The programme was launched at Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Agra, in the presence of SP Chun, Corporate Vice President, Samsung South West Asia; Prof Ashu Rani, Vice Chancellor, Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar University, senior academicians; and around 900 students.

The launch followed the commencement of the programme at Lucknow, on September 29 in the presence of Smt. Rajni Tiwari, Hon’ble Minister of State for Higher Education, Government of Uttar Pradesh, senior academicians and 400 students.

Participants will receive structured training in AI and Generative AI, supported by hands-on projects, expert mentorship and soft-skills development. They will also receive training with AI capstone project tutorial where they will learn nuances of Design Thinking. The programme is designed to strengthen employability and prepare young people for emerging technology careers.

“Talent is everywhere, but opportunity must reach everyone. Samsung Innovation Campus combines technical learning, practical experience and mentorship to help young people build AI capabilities and prepare for technology-led careers. We welcome this initiative by Samsung that will impart employment-oriented future-tech skills to our students. Uttar Pradesh Accounts for 25% of National Target

Samsung Innovation Campus has already trained more than 8,000 young people in Uttar Pradesh. The state’s 2026 target of 5,000 participants represents one-fourth of Samsung’s national commitment to train 20,000 youth in AI across 10 states.

Now in its fourth year in India, SIC is Samsung’s global education and skilling programme for young people aged 18–25. In 2025, it trained more than 20,000 participants across India in future-tech skills, with women accounting for 48% of participation.

SIC 2026 is being implemented in collaboration with the Electronics Sector Skills Council of India and the Telecom Sector Skill Council.

Guided by its global CSR vision, “Together for Tomorrow! Enabling People,” Samsung focuses its citizenship initiatives on smart education and skilling young people. Samsung Innovation Campus complements Samsung Solve for Tomorrow, which supports youth-led innovation, and Samsung DOST, which develops industry-ready skills for sales and technical-service roles.

Uttar Pradesh’s young innovators have earned national recognition through Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC), Samsung India’s flagship skilling programme, with Rekha K, a student from the University of Lucknow, emerging as the National Topper in Big Data. Four additional students from Uttar Pradesh were also recognized among the programme’s state-level toppers, showcasing the rise of the young innovators from the region.

Selected from over 20,000 participants trained across India, Rekha was recognized for developing Healtytics, a data-driven framework aimed at strengthening tuberculosis (TB) surveillance and intervention planning in India.

“Working on Healtytics showed me how technology and data can be used to address real-world public health challenges. The experience helped me strengthen my technical skills and gave me the confidence to build solutions with meaningful social impact. All of this would not have been possible without Samsung Innovation Campus,” said Rekha K.

Among the state-level toppers from Uttar Pradesh were Shivam Kumar Singh from the Institute of Engineering and Technology, Deen Dayal Upadhyaya University, Gorakhpur, who developed an IoT-based Smart Home Automation System, and Yasharth Prakash Srivastava, a final-year Electronics and Communication Engineering student, who built an AI and Big Data-powered Movie Recommendation System. Shivam Singh, a BCA student, trained under Coding & Programming, and Mohammed Ansari, an MCA student, enrolled in AI were also recognized for their outstanding performance under the programme.

“Samsung Innovation Campus gave me an opportunity to apply artificial intelligence and Big Data concepts through the development of a Movie Recommendation System designed to deliver personalised content recommendations based on user preferences and viewing behaviour. The programme strengthened my technical, analytical and teamwork skills while providing valuable exposure to industry-oriented innovation,“ said Yasharth Prakash Srivastava.

This year, the students were felicitated at Samsung India’s headquarters in Gurugram by Mr. JB Park, President & CEO, Samsung Southwest Asia. They also had the opportunity to explore Samsung’s innovation ecosystem through visits to Samsung R&D Institute, Noida, Samsung R&D Institute Delhi and Samsung Design Delhi, where they interacted with technology leaders and gained insights into Samsung’s design philosophy, user-centric innovation processes and next-generation product development.

The achievements of these students reflect Uttar Pradesh’s growing focus on fostering innovation, digital skills and technology-led problem solving among youth, highlighting the transformative impact of access to emerging technology education and industry-relevant skilling opportunities.

Samsung, India’s largest consumer electronics brand, on the occasion of National Youth Day, announced the certification of 1,750 students in Uttar Pradesh under its flagship Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC) programme, marking a significant milestone in the company’s youth-skilling efforts in the state.

The certification ceremony was held at the City Group of Institutions in Lucknow, in the presence of Smt. Rajni Tiwari, Hon’ble Minister of Higher Education, Government of Uttar Pradesh, along with academic leaders and programme partners.

With this cohort, the total number of students trained under Samsung Innovation Campus in Uttar Pradesh has reached 3,900, making it one of the fastest-growing states under the programme. Samsung announced its intent to skill 5,000 youth in Uttar Pradesh, as part of its broader national target of upskilling 20,000 students, a six-fold increase over the previous year. The programme is currently operational across 10 states.

Under the Lucknow initiative, students received industry-aligned training in emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence (950 students), Coding & Programming (550 students), Big Data (150 students), and Internet of Things (100 students).

Strategic Focus on Scale and Inclusion

Samsung has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Electronics Sector Skills Council of India (ESSCI) to train 10,000 students in emerging technologies across Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and West Bengal. A second MoU with the Telecom Sector Skill Council (TSSC) will extend the programme to another 10,000 students in Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, and Maharashtra.

A key emphasis this year will be on Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, with 5,000 students from each state set to receive training in future technologies. The initiative is designed to democratize access to future-tech skills by reaching both urban and semi-urban areas, ensuring that underserved communities are not left behind in India’s digital transformation.

Electronics Sector Skills Council of India (ESSCI) and Telecom Sector Skill Council (TSSC), both National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC)-approved entities, will implement the programme through their networks of accredited training partners and centres. Since its launch in India in 2022, Samsung Innovation Campus has trained 6,500 students in future technologies.

Samsung India’s flagship CSR initiative, the ‘Samsung Innovation Campus,’ (SIC) has concluded its Coding & Programming, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Big Data and Internet of Things (IoT) courses for 350 students in Gorakhpur at Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University. The students were handed over certificates of completion by the Honourable Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Yogi Adityanath at a ceremony held at the University premises. This initiative reiterates the brand’s commitment to being a strong partner of the country and working alongside the government in its mission to skill India and power #DigitalIndia.

Senior Samsung executives and representatives from the Electronics Sector Skills Council of India (ESSCI), which collaborated in training and mentoring the students were also present during the occasion. A total of 350 students were awarded certificates across various future-tech domains, including 150 in Coding & Programming, 100 in Artificial Intelligence, 50 in Big Data, and 50 in Internet of Things (IoT).

Samsung will train 3500 students across India as part of this programme in 2024. At the conclusion of the 2024 programme top performers of Samsung Innovation Campus will be awarded a cash prize of INR 1 lakh and will have the chance to visit Samsung’s facilities in Delhi/NCR. During these visits, they will have the opportunity to engage with and receive mentorship from Samsung’s leadership team. Not just that, the national course toppers will also receive exciting Samsung products, including Samsung Galaxy Buds and Samsung Galaxy Smartwatches.

Samsung Innovation Campus offers in-depth training across four key technology areas — AI, IoT, Big Data, and Coding & Programming. Students gain hands-on experience through capstone projects and soft skills training aimed at boosting their employability. The AI course participants undergo 270 hours of theory training followed by 80 hours of project work, while those enrolled in IoT and Big Data courses receive 160 hours of theory training and complete 80 hours of project work. Participants in the Coding & Programming course complete 80 hours of training and take part in a hackathon.

The programme covers eight educational institutions across four states. In the northern region, training centres are established in Lucknow and Gorakhpur, besides two in Delhi NCR. In the southern region, which includes Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, training centres are located in Chennai and Sriperumbudur, in addition to two in Bengaluru.

During the programme, participants will continue to receive instructor-led blended classroom and online training. Youth enrolled for the programme will undergo classroom and online training and complete their hands-on capstone project work in their selected technology areas in AI, IoT, Big Data and Coding & Programming.

They will also be imparted soft skills training to enhance their employability. The participants are being mobilized through ESSCI’s training and education partners across India. The approach includes a combination of offline and online learning, immersive hackathons and capstone projects, as well as expert mentorship provided by Samsung employees.

During 2023, Samsung Innovation Campus successfully trained 3000 students in future-tech courses. Samsung’s involvement in this initiative underscores its commitment to nation building through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities in India. In addition to this, Samsung has also supported the local administration and community in Gautam Budh Nagar by providing hospitals with medical equipment required in the preventive drive against the pandemic. Samsung has provided 10,000 Preventive Masks and 6,000 Personal Preventive Equipment (PPE) kits to hospitals. PPE kits are an essential preventive healthcare utility and each kit includes: Surgeon Gown, Face Mask, Gloves, Preventive Eye wear, Hood Cap and Shoe Cover. The Company has also provided a large number of Infra-red Thermometers and Public Address systems as well as 300 Air Purifiers to help improve ambient air quality in medical facilities.

Samsung also supported the local administration and local police in Noida in providing food packets to local communities.

The UP Government will utilize these funds for Covid-19 related relief, containment and preventive measures to combat the pandemic in the state.

Samsung has earmarked INR 20 crore to support the Central government as well as State governments in their fight against the pandemic. It recently contributed INR 15 crore to the PM CARES Fund. Samsung employees from across India also raised a voluntarily contribution of INR 1 crore from their salaries for the PM CARES Fund.

Samsung, India’s most trusted brand, and the country’s biggest consumer electronics and smartphone maker has been a strong partner to Uttar Pradesh over the years, having set up its first manufacturing plant in the country in 1996, at Noida, Uttar Pradesh. This factory has grown over the last 24 years, and was transformed into the World’s Largest Mobile Factory in 2018.

In our continuous endeavour to support the fight against Covid-19, Samsung today pledged a contribution of INR 20 crore to the Union and State governments in India. Samsung will be donating INR 15 crore to the PM Cares Fund, and INR 5 crore to the states of Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, to support the country’s challenge against the pandemic.

In addition, Samsung employees across India are putting together their personal contribution. The Company will match the employee contribution and donate the total amount to the PM Cares Fund in the coming weeks.

These new measures come on the back of Samsung’s support to local administration and community in Noida, where the Company has provided hospitals with medical equipment required in the preventive drive against the pandemic. So far Samsung has provided thousands of Preventive Masks and Personal Preventive Equipment (PPE) kits to hospitals. PPE kits are an essential preventive healthcare utility and each kit includes: Surgeon Gown, Face Mask, Gloves, Preventive Eye wear, Hood Cap and Shoe Cover.

We are also supporting the authorities at hospitals and at other facilities by providing a large number of Infra-red Thermometers and Public Address systems. Along with these, Air Purifiers that are vital to improve the ambient air quality in medical facilities, are also being provided.

Over the last few weeks, Samsung has hastened deliveries of Digital X-ray and Digital Ultrasound machines that it provides to government hospitals as part of its Samsung Smart Healthcare citizenship program. As part of the program, Samsung also provides training to technicians on how to use these machines. The most recent delivery of the equipment has been to a hospital in Noida that has also been designated as a Covid-19 facility for the region. The Samsung Digital X-ray and Digital Ultrasound machines will aid in quick diagnostics.

In Noida, Samsung is also supporting the local administration and local police in providing food packets to local communities on a daily basis.

Samsung India also launched its ‘Make for the World’ initiative, whereby it aims to export mobile handsets produced in India, to overseas markets.

With this new facility, Samsung will double its current capacity for mobile phones in Noida from 68 million units a year to 120 million units a year, in a phase-wise expansion that will be completed by 2020.

Samsung has been manufacturing mobile phones in India since 2007, and is the only brand that is truly made in India. Samsung India has been populating Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) right from its inception and is aligned with the Government of India’s Phased Manufacturing Programme (PMP) goals.

On June 7, 2017, Samsung had announced an investment of INR 4,915 crore to add new capacity at the Noida plant, under the Uttar Pradesh government’s Mega Policy.

The Noida factory, which was set up in 1996 is one of the first global electronics manufacturing facilities set up in India. A bigger manufacturing plant, spread over 129,000 sq. metres, will help Samsung meet the growing demand for its innovative products and services across the country and also fulfil the Company’s goal of making India an export hub for the world.
