Samsung’s Energy Efficient Refrigerators Approved for UN CDM
January 16, 2013
Samsung Electronics has received approval from United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) for UN Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) business based on sales of its highly energy efficient refrigerator range. CDM is UN’s tradable permit system granting carbon credit to corporations and countries voluntarily reducing greenhouse gas emission or investing in relevant facilities after gaining business approval from UN. Up until now only renewable energy companies got the approval from UN CDM, but for the first time in the world home appliances products came to win the approval.
